A/N: So totally just drooling over the season 2 finale, hope to finish this and then let my creative brain start on something thanks to that. I apologize for the long delay, life got away from me. But please enjoy.
2 Days later:
The flight from the Island was bumpy to say the least; there was still tension in the air from Lizzie's return to Washington and the Taskforce as well the news of their upcoming addition. They had discussed what they were going to say when asked about it, but the fact that Red was the father would not be divulged to the FBI. Dembe drove them to the Post Office and parked the car in the garage; there was no turning back now, now they had to face everyone. Red went to get out of the car, but Lizzie grabbed his arm before he could.
"Raymond, promise me that no matter what happens, you won't leave us alone."
"Lizzie, I promise I will do everything in my power to keep the two of you safe. I already lost one family, I won't lose another one."
Lizzie knew that since he found out that she was pregnant that things were going to change, Red still carried the guilt of losing his other family, so it made sense he would be afraid that history would repeat itself and he would once again be alone.
"It's time to go Lizzie."
They got out of the car and were escorted down the in the elevator to the main level of the post office, as soon as the door lifted, there stood Ressler and Copper.
"Agent Scott, it's good to see you."
"You as well sir."
"Are you well, Reddington was vague to say the least on your health."
"I'm fine, shall we?"
"My office."
The pair as well as Ressler followed Copper up the stairs, the entire time passing people who were making faces at the newly returned agent. This was going to be one hell of a cover and she was going to have to sell it like her life depended on it.
"So Agent Scott, tell us about the past 18 months."
"Well sir, it was like any other day for me the day I was taken. I went home checked the mail, had a glass of wine with dinner and sat down to watch something on TV. I remember that after my first glass I felt kind of fuzzy and tired, so I must have fallen asleep. I woke up and was in a room, I didn't recognize there were 4 walls not windows except for some sun roofs and they were high, the ceiling was high. I knew then I had been taken, just not sure by who or why. Everyday someone would come in and ask me about Reddington so soon I pieced together the why but not the who, I never saw anyone except for 3 guards and they rotated out and never the same rotation, I considered trying to get past but the schedule always changed too. My meals had to be laced with a drug of some kind cause I was always tired and weak I remember. I was unsure how much time had passed days merged and sometimes I would sleep for so long I never knew how long I was out." Lizzie had started to form tears in her eyes, she knew this had to be convincing in order for them to believe her and Red. "Then about a week ago, they started talking that things were changing and that soon I would be leaving. I didn't know what that meant. I guess that they had finally found a way to talk to Reddington. They took my picture and then 4 days ago, I was finally allowed out of the room they had kept me in. I was taken to a courtyard and it was then I realized I was somewhere in the South, maybe even past the border. There were 3 chairs, one for me that I sat in, one was where my captor was, I finally saw who he was, and then an empty one. After what seemed like hours, Reddington came in and was his typical self. I don't know what happened after that because after I saw Reddington all I could focus on was the fact that I was leaving, I knew he wouldn't leave me there." Lizzie wiped the tears away and then bowed her head. From the looks of it they were buying Red's cover.
"Agent Scott had been taken by an old partner of mine Louis Cardona; Louis was shall we say scum. He wanted to use Agent Scott against me, much like Anslo Garrick did during the siege, it seems that a few of my problems have found out one of the things that I protect, so that means that we have a leak. Harold I think it's time for you to clean house."
"And how do we know you didn't plan this whole thing?"
"Donald, I can assure you if I wanted to make Agent Scott disappear then she would never be found and I never would have kept coming back here bringing you people to capture and asking how the search for her was going. Think Donald, why would I do anything to harm Elizabeth and then ask how it's going?"
"Wouldn't put it past you."
"Enough."
"So Reddington, what did this Cardona want in exchange for Agent Scott."
"Nothing you need to worry about Harold, I took care of it."
"And what does that mean?"
"Means that Cardona won't be bugging anyone at the Post Office anymore." Copper shook his head at the comment, knowing Reddington, that meant Cardona was already dead somewhere and if not already would be soon. "Now I'm sure Agent Scott could use some rest, it has been an exhausting 2 days, not to mention 18 months."
"Scott, make sure you get seen by a doctor."
"You doubt me Harold, she already has been, the best in fact they recommend some rest and considering you have to clear her for duty and what not, I doubt going to another doctor today would change her not working for a few more weeks."
"Quite right, but let's be clear you will be cleared by one of our doctors before you go back into the field, is that clear?"
"Yes Sir."
"Good." Cooper watched as they walked away before stopping the pair. "Oh and Scott; welcome back."
"Thank you sir."
Back down stairs Aram came up and gave Lizzie a hug that she hadn't been expecting. It was apparent now that a few of her colleagues had missed her; a few were still on the fence including Ressler.
"Ok everyone while it has been great seeing you, I just want to go home and get some rest."
"Your home? I'm not sure about that Scott."
"Right you are Donald, Lizzie your apartment was rented long ago to someone else. I have your things in storage, in the meantime, I have a suite at the Franklin that can accommodate the both us quite comfortably."
"I need to ask Cooper on that one."
"Nonsense, I found you and rescued you; they can trust me not to kill you or ravage you in your sleep."
"You sure about that Reddington?"
"Donald, you never cease to amaze me. Come now Lizzie you need to get some rest." Without another word, Red turned her and they headed towards the elevator that would lead them to the surface. Once back in the comfort of the car with Dembe, Liz could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
"That was too easy it seemed."
"I set it up so that it would be, no one will question it, now are you ready for tonight?"
"Do I have a choice?"
"No."
"Then I guess I am. Is it all set?"
"Yes. Tonight at the bar in the hotel, my man will be there waiting for you to arrive, and just like we talked about it will look like you drank too much and then took him back to your room. I will be furious with you for a few days, but if all goes according to plan which I have faith it will, no one will know the identity of the father. No one but you and me and Dembe."
"I trust you Raymond. This better work."
"It will, until then, let's get you back to the hotel and get some rest you look exhausted."
"Alright." The rest of the drive back she put her head on his shoulder and just sat there breathing in his scent and knowing that he was not going to let anyone hurt her or their child.
