Author's notes:

First of all apologies for the delay I actually had this wrote and in my documents on the site for over a couple weeks ago just never posted it I glanced over it and skimmed through for errors and whatnot before the post so here we go I guess.

Also regarding posts if you don't hear from me for a while I'll be updating my profile to give you all status updates on the chapters when I start or am in the middle of writing them. I generally have the time to do these things but I like to keep myself busy or at least as not bored as I can and at the moment I've got a tonne of recreational reading to catch up on, games to play(got lent about 4 games by a couple mates who said beat those I hate Dark souls I really do T~T). There was also the fact I had this chapter wrote it was just sitting in my documents and I didn't post it so yeah I forgot XD.

Chapter wise It's not my longest but it's by far my most scenery descriptive thoughts, comments, random sentences that don't make any sense review I'll probably reply XD

So without further ado lets get this started I got my tea in hand and my original draft let's snip it and edit it til it resembles a story. XD

Chapter Start

Hei felt odd. More odd than a person who had been completely absorbed by the floating dark sphere of vacuuming doom(TM). It was what he felt after that when he regained conciousness, well as much conciousness to sense what was around him.

Hei felt a sense of displacement as though he were in a place that wasn't exactly a place but it was there all the same. It just felt vast and...empty, yet at the same time filled with many things just waiting to be discovered.

'Am I...dead?' Hei could only wonder as he weightlessly floated through the vast emptiness of the Lanes Between. Hei wondered this due to the fact he couldn't feel really anything it was more along the lines however that his senses physically were numbed.

Hell if he had the courage to actually open his eyes he may have even found the sight beautiful but no Hei kept his eyes firmly closed. It was during this time of floating aimlessly through the vast emptiness that Hei began to feel a pull and then a warmth spreading throughout his body.

'Is this what it feels like to die? Huh...it's not as bad as I thought it would be. If anything I've only got two complaints.' Hei mused as he began to feel a sense of vertigo and a chill in the air.

'One, I wish that that warmth lasted a bit longer it was nice. Two, I'm getting slightly annoyed by the sound of the wind billowing around my ears and through my damn coat...wait...wind?' Realization washed over Hei like the freezing waters of the beaches back home. He could feel, he could move albeit with a bit of resistance as though he were fighting some unseen force.

'Oh! Yay I'm not dead! Take that Darkside and that stupid floating dark sphere of vacuuming doom(TM) I survived! I am indestructible!' Hei thought triumphantly as he stroked his already abnormally large ego he opened his eyes to take in the sights.

Hei was then greeted by in his opinion the most beautiful sunset he'd ever had the pleasure of viewing. granted it was really only the second he'd witnessed since leaving the Dark Realm but that was only a minor detail. The sun seemed to hover just over the horizon bathing the world in it's fiery orange glow.

'You know I wouldn't mind living in a place where the sun shone like that at the end of every day weather permitting of course' Hei thought fondly as he proceeded to survey the rest of his surroundings. 'I get the feeling I'm forgetting something important...meh it can wait it's obviously not important' Hei dismissively thought.

Stretching out before Hei was an immensly forested area with what appeared to be a dilapidated mansion hidden away from the rest of the world.

'Somebody obviously enjoys their privacy...I...think I'll stay away from there for now' For some reason Hei felt hesitant to approach the mansion as though he was being almost repelled by it. But at the same time he felt drawn to the place as though it would tell him something. This complacency was not something Hei wasn't very used to 'Why do I feel a tightening in my chest the longer I look at that damn place!' Hei thought in frustration as an unnoticed tear slid down his face.

Tearing his sight away from the mansion hidden among the trees Hei tried to distract himself with the other sights this world had to offer. Hei turned to look behind him with minor difficulty for some reason 'Seriously what is it that keeps bugging me?' Hei thought annoyed at this illusive thought that just seemed to be taunting him by staying out of reach.

His annoyance was short lived however as he took in the sight of a town that complimented this worlds setting sun. There were buildings of all different shapes and sizes mostly painted in a pale yellow colour and rusty brick aesthetic that was pleasing to the eye. The windows mostly had wooden shutters along with flower pots filled with all manners of flora upon the window sills. Hei could also see a large plaza which seemed to be in preparation for an event of some sort and a shopping district with a tram transporting people from their residential district through the different areas.

'Quaint' Hei thought as he looked on at the town that sprawled out before him. There was nothing really eye catching about the town really bar it's colour scheme and the way it captured the sun perfectly...that was what Hei thought until his eyes beheld the Clock Tower.

'How did I miss this beauty of architecture!' Hei thought in shock and delight as he took in every aspect of the Tower. To say that the Clock Tower in question was large was an understatement it was immense and odds are he would be able to see it no matter where he was in the town or even the forest. There were three very distinct and striking characteristics that the Clock Tower could boast to the worlds at large.

The first was that it had to clock faces one of which was towards the top of the tower on it's slanted tiled surface leading towards the tip of the tower. This one was as bright as the sunset it's hands a face adorned in gold the evening sun making it glint and catch the eye. The second clock was about mid way up the clock tower with a small alcove above it where the workers who built it would probably have taken their breaks and stared out across the town.

'Note to self find a way onto that alcove without corridor walking' Hei filed away that thought among his personal goals such as beat that scientist bastard to a pulp along with find...'him' Hei had quite a few choice words and actions for his flighty father figure should they cross paths again but at the same time he wasn't sure he even wanted to see 'him' again...oh and eat ice cream that was also up there too let it be known Hei was not above splurging in his childish desires despite his new found growth inside he'd barely grown up at all emotionally. Mentally sure he had the mindset of a learned adult one might even say a scholar on some subjects but emotionally he was a child who'd been abandoned at a critical moment in his growth as an adult and still couldn't get past it but he was adapting and trying to make do with what he had.

The face of the second clock was different from the first while the top seemed to compliment the light in this twilight hour, this clock seemed to be dedicated to what came after, dusk.

The hands of this clock were as dark as Hei's own keyblade who he had not heard from since he arrived here making him slightly worried but it could wait for now he was taking in the sights and trying to ignore the niggling feeling in the back of his head but anyway back to the clock tower. It was more of a typical clock face really black hands and black numerals. However what made it noteworthy was the fact that it was not the main draw of this clock face. The noteworthy part was the fact that this clock face was within a larger circle and it was off center. Within the larger circle in the tower around the face was a mural depicting a sun and moon that seemed to be on a mechanical plate as they both seemed to turn as the minutes ticked away towards sunset.

The second noteworthy point about the clock tower was that towards the apex of the tower, jutting out on both sides in symmetry were two ornate copper suspenders. The copper suspenders curled outward from the tower up towards the sky before curling back down. there was also a small offshoot from the suspender which in it's grasp held a small bell...well small for the tower. However it was what was held between the larger suspenders which were more fitting for the size of the tower itself.

Hanging between the two large arcs between the suspenders were two enormous bells. Why did the bells hold Hei's attention however well it had just hit seven o'clock and the bells began to toll. This was especially intriguing because he could feel the air around him vibrating with the power of the bells and hear them almost clear as day.

'Seriously what is it that keeps bugging me about this situation' Hei continued to muse as he kept reaching for the just out of reach thought but still it eluded him but he almost had it just a little more and he would have it.

Finally the third and final thing that was interesting about the tower and by far the most interesting addition to the clock tower or rather what the tower itself was a part of. The Clock Tower was a part of a train station within the town with train tracks leading off in multiple directions to other parts of the world beyond Hei's scope of vision. The reason for the clock tower became clear now it was for residents to keep track of the train times and even if they could not see the tower the number of tolling bells would help the denizens figure out what trains were going and at what times. The train station was quite interesting for Hei to see but what held his interest was the fact that he could see trains, actual trains going from and coming to the station.

This was definitely the first time Hei had ever seen trains in his life...well real trains anyway Ansems education on otherworldly things was quite comprehensive and he made sure Hei could identify things which were not found on his world in the dark realm. Most of this teaching was done through drawn images in the sand and on paper when applicable since it was a finite resource and Ansem only had about four notepads with him when he came to his shores. So this was Hei's first encounter with an actual 3D rendering of the actual hunk of metal powered by steam, coal or other such substances possibly even electricity or magic if they were particularly learned in that department it apparently varied from world to world.

'So many things I want to see and do and not enough time to do it gah! Why does time have to be a constraint in most worlds...stupid time robbing me of my fun cus everywhere's closing down for the night.' Hei mentally groused to himself. It was finally after drinking in all of these sights it finally clicked. What felt out of place and just beyond reach. Why Hei could see everything around him without any obstructions to his view...until he started to get closer to them. The scenes he'd just seen becoming obscured by buildings. Hei was falling from the sky no less, it seemed the world that adopted him just sucked him in and spat him out at the most convenient location which just so happened to be the sky not the ground no that would be too easy and safe and have a higher chance of Hei living while he was on this world.

So while Hei worked out the speed at which he was travelling the distance to the ground and how long he'd been falling he came up with a deduction that he had about six seconds to live before he and the pavement or whatever was below him became very acquainted.

So with that in mind Hei did the most logical thing one in his position would do leaving his dignity intact.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I HATE THIS WORLD! WHY ME DAMNIT!?" Finally deciding to use his voice for the first time since he appeared in this world Hei choose the most apt thing to do he screamed about how unfair it was before he hit something solid...

Meanwhile elsewhere in another world...

A young boy with brown spiked hair and cerulean blue eyes landed softly in a world cloaked in night the twinkling stars clearly visible in the night sky and the lamplights in the street illuminating the street. He was deposited safely upon it's soil or rather cobblestone streets in an alleyway away from the main plaza and out of sight of all that might see his passed out form as he was lightly leaned against the wall in a sitting position.

At the same time a duo of anthros one being a short bipedal duck decked out in blue clothing and the other being a tall bipedal dog garbed in green, black and yellow trailed by a yellow dog began there search here. Their search in question was for their longtime friend and king and their main mission of finding what was described in a letter from said friend to find a 'Key' and stay with it.

The name of this world? Traverse Town.

Back with Hei

A tree. Hei owed his life to a tree. Now most people would be ecstatic and possibly even jumping for joy after surviving such a fall. However as Hei groaned in agony on the ground cursing the very thing which saved his life his thoughts went back to the moment before it saved his life.

Flashback to impact

THUNK! "GAH!" CRACK!,

THUNK! "UGH!" CRACK!,

THUNK! "OUCH!" CRACK!,

THUNK! "MY-" CRACK!,

THUNK! "SIDE!" CRACK!,

THUNK! "PAIN!" CRACK!,

THUNK! "HATE!" CRACK!,

THUNK! "THIS!" CRACK!,

THUNK! "THING!" CRACK!,

THUNK! "AHHH" CRACK! THUD! "owww~~~~~".

End Flashback

Ten tree branches and a very bruised and battered Hei do not a happy camper make.

"Couldn't have landed in the sea or sand nope...had to land in the middle of the damn forest!...And another thing!" While Hei continued to complain over the unfairness of the worlds and possibly their ultimate goal of killing him in amusing ways a distinct cracking sound caught his attention. Hei looked back up at his 'savior' through the clean path of destruction he had made through the trees canopy of very strong looking branches. With mounting horror Hei realized that the branches he had damaged on his less than soft landing were beginning to break off and Hei hit a lot of big, strong, thick branches on his way down.

"You have got to be kidding me!" Hei tried to move out of the way but any and all movement he could hope to make was met with utter resistance and searing pain "GAH! okay...okay I'm not going to be moving any time soon...OH WHO CARES ABOUT THAT! I'm about to be crushed by of all things tree branches! Of all the things in the multi-worlds why did it have to be something as simple as a tree. A tree damnit is going to kill me! The worst part is it's totally justified as I hit it first! Killed by the thing that saved my life the irony would be funny if it weren't such a pitiful way to die and of course someone who isn't me!" Hei continued to complain as the branches finally broke free of the confines of it's host and began to plummet down towards Hei to finish the job both the Darkside and destruction of a world couldn't.

Time seemed to slow for Hei as he watched the branches fall towards him so he decided he would say his goodbyes to his would be partner who had been surprisingly quiet the whole time this had been going on.

'Callie I think I'm about to die...trench coat guy the choice seems to have been taken from me...' Hei thought in resignation.

'ZZZZZZzzz...Master...Idiot!...zzzzzzZZZZ' Callie mumbled mentally in her sleep.

"I hate my life." Hei said in deadpan as he stared down the falling branches of doom figuring he'd rather see his end coming than close his eyes and wish it away.

"STOP!" yelled an unfamiliar voice filled with power...the power of magic.

Chapter End

Authors Notes

Well there you have it chapter 8 if you don't know the world by now then I'm afraid there is no hope for my worldly descriptions XD

Anyways figured this was as good a point as any to cut the chapter mainly because I'm tired and don't feel like writing a tonne of dialogue at the moment. Odds are highly likely you won't guess the character I just brought into play I'd say most of you will be surprised by what I have planned for this worlds ark which will at least last three or four chapters I got a lot to cover and a lot to introduce so bear with me I know what I'm doing (mostly).

Also what was your thoughts on the layout, probably unconsciously changed it again ^_^'
