Sorry for how long this is taking but my studies as a college student do come first.

"When was the last time that happened?" Banner asks as he takes a sip out of the drink Tony had handed him and grimaces. Chris thinks for a minute before opening his mouth to respond.

"Three years ago." Furry answers for him and everyone stands to stare at the dark-skinned man standing in the doorway.

"Um, intruder? Jarvis?" Tony speaks up looking around for the alarms that someone had come inside or even a verbal warning.

"I'm sorry sir, but they seem to have bypassed my systems," Tony grumbles about how they even managed that while Fury steps closer to Chris and Loki puts himself between the two of them.

"If I have anything to say about it, that will be that last time you ever do," Loki growls protectively and the Avengers gawk at the display for a second before joining in and readying themselves for a fight as they surround Chris defensively.

:3 Beginning~ C:

"As pissed as I may be at Agent Cord over there, I have orders from above to do nothing on the matter for now."

"Why?" Steve asks as he also steps into a defensive placement for Chris who glances gratefully at him before staring intently at Fury.

"We have a situation involving another of his kind." Chris tenses notably.

"Who?"

"Rain." with that one word all the color drains from Chris's face.

"He's supposed to be dead." the Avengers and Loki look between the two in worry and growing unease.

"That's what you were supposed to think."

"Bullshit," Chris states sharply. "I was there, I watched him die right in front of me."

"It's true, we almost lost him to the... incident..." Chris scoffs angrily.

"So that's what you call an ambush set up by our traitorous own?"

"Yes." Fury glares soundly at Chris who glares back. "... After the incident, we recovered him as best we could before putting him into a deep freeze till we could figure what else to do. Last month we pulled him back out and fixed him up the rest of the way."

"Then what happened? Rain was one of our strongest members and the most loyal, or should I say brainwashed?" Chris interjects snidely and Fury's face becomes sternly aggressive before taking a breath and relaxing.

"During the incident with Loki and the Chitari, Rain was being set to be released. However, someone took advantage of the chaotic situation and ran off with him, as well as the current coding for the serum and lab notes." Tony whistles lowly.

"That's a whole lot of top secret in the wind right now." He's currently pouring himself another drink and Fury sighs deeply.

"Due to the situation, we only have Rain's tracker to go off of for location and no Intel on the culprits. In the hopes of keeping this under airtight raps, the Council has assigned Agent Chris Cord to this mission." Chris tilts his head and crosses his arms lightly as he pokes his hip out slightly.

"What have they offered in return other than a suspension of punishment until mission completion?"

"Currently, a laxened punishment for your current transactions and a case to plead 'not guilty' for Loki Odinson." Chris tenses briefly for a moment before releasing his breath in a long dragging sigh.

"Fine. Mission accepted. Send me the tracer info."

"Chris..." Loki starts looking quite displeased with the current events.

"It's fine, besides, I'm also doing this to get back a good friend of mine. Agent Andrew Rain was the second survivor or the serums after me. I can't let him be used for anything he wouldn't approve of."

"Fine, then where are we going?" Romanoff asks as she steps over to Chris who was pulling out his clear hologram screen only to hesitate.

"We?" the disbelief is clear in his voice and eyes.

"Yes, we. After listening to what SHIELD has been doing to you and knowing, from my own experience, what they are willing to do. I don't trust you on a mission from them alone."

"I'm the main piece holding for a trial of 'not guilty' for the behalf of the guy, not but half a day ago, you were ready to blow his brains out. So forgive me my surprise and caution."

"I still do. However, I like you kid. You've got spunk, and I've never trusted SHIELD."

"Plus, if, and that's a very strong IF, Loki really is innocent, as you've stated, this will be a good opportunity to watch him show it." Clint pipes up.

"What?" Chris's eyebrows are now somewhere in the roots of his hair and his eyes are wide with absolute surprise and confusion. "Like hell am I going to put any of you into this kind of danger!"

"Too bad it's not your call. Huh, kid?~" Tony responds smoothly as his sips his drink and Chris looks to each of the others, in turn, seeing the same resolution to go with him. Finally, he sighs in resignation.

"Fine, but I'm taking lead since the mission is assigned to me."

"We'll be sure to give you the proper amount of criticism to each decision you make," Tony replies flippantly gaining a glare from Chris who continues to pull out his hologram to check the location of the tracker. Fury glares darkly for a few minutes at the boy during all of their talking before leaving quietly.
