I got really bored today and have finally come to the conclusion that I won't be finishing SYHO any time soon. I feel after all this time and the newer stories I've written have improved my writing compared to this story and I don't think I would be able to fit in working on it compared to my larger story projects and my growing list of story ideas and summaries I am building for future use.

But at the same time I no longer wanted to keep this an unfinished project because this was the story that really put me out there with more readers. You guys started commenting more, looking at more of my stuff at the time I created SYHO and it was a big support to me and an inspiration to go further in this hobby.

That's why, while I can no longer find it in me to work on full chapters, I will not leave you all hanging for a conclusion to this fic. I will summarize pretty much the entirety of the story from where the last chapter left off and include written scenes that I had planned as big focal points to the story. I hope it will suffice and give some people closer.

I guess first I'll start with a little back story on SYHO. By the time I was on the 3rd chapter I had written out a simple outline of the basic plot of the story of Hinata's time with the BURNED crew, her singing and the development she has as a character and her relationship with Naruto. I was still relatively new at really putting my all in a story so even looking back at my work there were a lot of holes I'm finding. I hadn't put much emphasis on her new friendships, rekindling her childhood friendship with Kiba or Shino and I was still very torn on the exact nature behind Naruto's use of Hinata (I will get more into that later down the line).

The original product I had planned was a 20 chapter story more of less and would have covered:

Hinata making friends

Developing feelings for Naruto

Finding her voice and growing confidence in herself

Her broken family and their dynamic

The effects singing has on her socially

Naruto effectively breaking her heart

Hinata falling into a sort of silent depression after her activities are found out

And then things fixing themselves and thus having a happy ending

So, on to a synopsis of pretty much everything after Neji's performance is where I will now start.

After Hinata praises her cousin on a job well done its Sasuke's turn to perform. At one point during the performance as Hinata is delivering water bottles to the live band she has to, of course, travel back stage across the stage, however, due to her cluminess, she trips and falls through the curtain and onto the stage during the performance. Sasuke, being an unspoken good bro fixes the interruption by incorporating her into a little dance (one he will forever regret because Neji was out for his blood after the suggestive motions he made towards his cousin. It's like defiling a bunny what he dies and Sasuke is just so awkward he probably shoves a stuffed bunny into her hands 3 weeks later after the incident is forgotten as a late apology for 'touching her inappropriately'. Sakura, his girlfriend will find infinite amusement from this.) and pretty much gave Hinata a conniption as he would manipulate her body to the moves so he could move her to the over side of the stage and push her into Naruto's path to get her off stage.

(I had planned Sasuke's voice to be based off the lead singer of the band Three Days Grace.)

After that little draw back though, everything goes smoothly for the rest of the night, probably have a little HinaNaru fluff before the night is done.

Some time would have passed, the following chapter probably being one that focused on character development at school, Hinata and Ryou having questionable fluffy times. By this time I have already sort of made it clear there was a slight love triangle going on between RyouxHinaxNaru. Hinata obviously feeling something because Ryou was the first person she's sung with, who got to see that free part of her and was there with her at school since Naruto and a majority were in a different grade level. However, Naruto make her heart flutter and made her feel all these different emotions. It confused her.

Ryou gets the courage to age Hinata out at some point during an early day at the club where the gang was having rehersals. Naruto, being the questionable person he is right now eavesdrops on the conversation and bites his lip apprehensively, but out of jealousy or something else it isn't made sure.

Wanting to sort out her feelings Hinata agrees to the date, but unsure what she should do she goes to Sakura and Ino. The three girls have girl time, Sakura and Ino reminisce their first dates with Sasuke and Shikamaru respectively.

Sakura remembers that it was so awkward because Sasuke barely said a word and they almost got into a fight with a bunch of cops because while they were waiting in line for something they thought he was 'suspicious'. Sasuke apparently was offended enough to give them a dirty look and it all just sort of escalated from there.

On the day of the date Ryou is a cinnamon roll and Hinata is just her awkward socially inept teenager who can't stop thinking of Naruto throughout the entire thing. Hinata finally starts to put her feelings together, not enough to confidently say she is in love with Naruto, but enough to know she can't lead Ryou on. She asks to stop and talk, Ryou has this look, like he knows and smiles as she tries to form words. Ryou asks if it was Naruto and Hinata says yes.

He doesn't blame her and he walks her to her front gate like the good bro he his.

I would have had another chapter or two to probably lead up to Naruto spontaneously asking Hinata to be his girlfriend. Not confess, mind you, just ask her to go out with him. Hinata would, at this point, have wanted to start understanding herself more and want to try and do something for herself and be selfish. She does feel things for Naruto and she wants to see where it goes so she agrees.

They do have a date, they have a few. However, at one point, Naruto slips up a bit.

He accidentally calls Hinata by another name excitedly. He calls her Hime.

(I hadn't quite figured out how I wanted this character to be used. I knew I wanted her to be similar to Hinata in looks. She would have been Naruto's previous girlfriend whom he was very close and attached to who was a previous singer in the club. And I knew I wanted her to have left Naruto in a very traumatic way, either by way of a tragic death that he never quite got over, or by her going behind his back and signing a record deal and becoming a professional singer without telling Naruto anything until the day she packed up her things and left. Either way Naruto would have still been very much in love with Hime, and then here comes Hinata, another sweet, talented girl with long dark hair and the sweetest voice and adorable habits that he becomes blinded to the fact that Hinata was not Hime.)

That date ends early in Hinata's shock. She decides to take a sort break from her work at Burned as her father is getting a little suspicious about her recent behavior. She is lost in trying to sort out who Hime is and why Naruto would call her by that name.

She contacts the girls and they meet up at Ino's home above her family flower shop.

When Hinata reveals to Sakura, Ino and Tenten that Naruto had accidentally called her Hime things become very tense amongst the girls. Sakura is the first to crack and punches the wall and curses Naruto, calling him an unbelievable idiot. Ino and Tenten become uncomfortable with the topic. They knew what had happened between Nauto and Hime, but they weren't as close to Naruto as Sakura and Sasuke.

Hinata pleads to Sakura to tell her who Hime is. She tells her. And it does nothing to help the sinking feeling that had developed since he first called her that name.

Hinata does come back to BURNED, she is scheduled to do her first solo performance, Tenten and Sakura thinking she's ready. However, on the night of her performance, before she is set to go on, she gathers her courage to confront Naruto.

They talk about his relationship with Hime and as she listens to the way Naruto talks about her Hinata's heart breaks. Then she asks the question that has haunted her since her talk with that girls.

Was she just a replacement for the girlfriend he lost?

Naruto pales, he looks lost and conflicted and like he's about to cry. Hinata already has tears prickling her vision and pleads for Naruto to answer her honestly.

Naruto says nothing, but he nods his head.

The tears drop down and there is a painful silence between them. Then Hinata asks if Naruto loved her, even just a little bit, not as Hime, but as Hinata Hyuuga.

Naruto doesn't know, his voice gets caught in his throat and he is left unable to answer. Hinata has enough and hugs Naruto, he tenses, wraps his arms around her like a lifeline and his vision blurs. Then against his ear, Hinata whispers a good bye to Naruto, breaking it off with him and tells him she can't be with him if all he sees is Hime because she wants him to see her, Hinata. They share a heartfelt kiss.

Naruto wordlessly wipes away her tears even as his fall and he looks so confused so guilty. Hinata leaves him with a final smile and she runs onto the stage.

(The song I had kind of picked out for her, despite not completely fitting the vocal pitch Hinata might have fits both the scene and the issues both Hinata and Naruto suffer through the fic. The One by Utada Hikaru.)

It's an emotional performance Hinata cries, Naruto cries back stage, and the whole crew is pretty torn up about it because they knew Hinata getting involved was a bad thing, but they couldn't really stop it. Hinata loves Naruto and its hard to stop love.

Despite the emotion performance that brings tears back to Hinata's eyes she feels a weight leave her. Hinata had never felt so in tune with herself, so comfortable in her own skin so happy and sad that she was able to get herself across, able to speak up and just let everything out.

However as she makes it backstage the gang and is confronted by Hiashi. Hinata and Neji are forced to leave. As they are dragged out by Hiashi's help Hinata and Naruto make eyes contact, but she breaks it, unable to face him now as she and her cousin are stuffed into their car.

Hiashi is disappointed, he goes on to argue a future head of the family should not be involved in such a questionable establishment, that she was careless and irresponsible.

Hinata snaps at her father, tells him to shut up, that he doesn't understand, that he never will and that she refuses to listen to such bad mouthing of her friends.

Hiashi goes silent, the family internally shocked, Hiashi more so. Because Hinata looked him straight in the eyes and did not stutter once.

The cousins are unable to go to the club after this incident. Hinata and Neji are confined to their rooms, are driven to school and picked straight up. Their contact with their friends dwindles, Hinata avoids Naruto at school. She stops speaking entirely.

Naruto is distraught, his mind is a tornado. Hinata haunts his mind.

He stays late at the club one night, distracted from band duties and practice. All alone on the empty stage Naruto turns on the cover music for a performance he was suppose to give that night but wasn't quite up to it. It hit too close to home.

Naruto is left sitting there on stage to sing with every reminder of his interactions with Hinata.

(Originally this song was going to be sung in his attempt to make up with Hinata, but I found another song with a bit of an ironic twist considering the name of the final song Hinata sings at the club. As Naruto's musical counterpart, I chose Skillet. The song he sings here was going to be Say Goodbye.)

He regrets how his relationship developed with Hinata from his stupid lies and ill intentions, how he treated her feelings for him was a kick to the gut. He's left on his knees in regret and unsure how to fix things with the girl he'd fallen for without realizing it.

Interrupting his self loathing, Sasuke appears admitting he was on his way up to Sakura's room when he heard his friend. They sit there is silence before Naruto admits he's in love with Hinata. Sasuke scoffs and said it was obvious on the night she and Neji left. Naruto doesn't know how to fix things and Sasuke doesn't provide any advice other than to not over think things and melt his brain, besides spontaneously doing the first thing that pops into his mind usually works.

Around this time Hiashi is concerned for Hinata and Neji, both of which had become eerily silent around anyone but each other. In attempts to do something, the father digs out his daughters old violin, bringing up memories of a time where the household wasn't so silent all the time.

He gets the violin touched up and tries to get Hinata to leave her room to accept his gift. She doesn't even answer her door and it leaves Hiashi's guts twisting in on itself, he leaves the violin in its case outside her bedroom door.

He walks down the hall periodically to see if she had taken the musical peace offering, only to be disappointed each time to find it hadn't even been touched.

Hiashi is left without any idea of how to handle to two teenagers, he is left sitting out in his dead wife's neglected garden, thinking his brother and Hinata's mother would have know how to handle this, his wife had always been the one who knew what went on through their eldest's head the most and his brother had always just known what to say to get someone to open up.

Hanabi finds her father with his head in his hands, unable to understand what was going on. She sits with him.

Hanabi brings to light she had known all along what her older sister and cousin were doing, she had followed them once. She saw them both singing on stage and she thinks she understands why things played out the way they did.

Hanabi asks her father if he had noticed a change in Hinata since before he found out the truth.

Hiashi thinks back to her outburst in the car before she refused to speak another word and her And how she had been acting in general lately. Before he could come to a conclusion they are interrupted by a servant that informs there is a strange boy outside screaming for Hinata.

He goes to deal with it and is confronted with Naruto begging to see Hinata, just for a little bit, he needed to talk to her. Unsure about the boys intentions he asks why.

Naruto tells him he had to apologize to her, to tell her she's the only one for him and he'd never think of her in another way again. Hiashi is taken aback, but hides it easily, telling Naruto to come back later, for Hinata was not talking to anyone.

These interruptions continue throughout the week without any knowledge to Hinata.

One day, after school, Hiashi is able to stop Hinata on her way to her room and asks her to join him for tea. They situate themselves in the tea room, the sliding doors open to peer into her mother's garden. Things are tense, silent between the father and daughter. Hinata still refuses to speak so Hiashi starts. He talks about things have been different since the death of her mother, he finds it hard to connect to her of Hanabi, her mother was always the one who was good with children.

Hinata asks if he hates her now, now that she can't live up to the expectations of the next head of the house because now that she had gotten a taste of freedom to sing and act as she pleased she never wanted to do anything else.

The question catches him off guard and he asks why she would ever think that. They get into a stilted conversation that leads to Hiashi telling Hinata that he loved her, that she and Hanabi were his whole life. This brings tears to Hinata's eyes and they hug, reaffirming he loved her like nothing else.

(Guess what Hinata's childhood nickname her parents called her before her mother's death…Don't know? Don't worry, I'll reveal it in the scene collection.)

(Also originally I had thought of Neji or Hinata never being able to fix their relationship with Hiashi. The original idea was that tensions begin to rise still in the Hyuuga household. Hinata and Neji can no longer take it and pack their bags they make to leave the house for an unspecified amount of time when Hiashi tries to stop them; saying he does not give them permission to leave. But the cousins say they were never asking and run off. When they find themselves back before the doors of the club and find solace with Sakura. That would have been the scene or chapter before the end.)

The scene between father and daughter is interrupted though by a servant saying the blond boy was back, yelling at the gate. Hinata seems to freeze and turns to Hiashi for an explanation. He tells her Naruto had been coming every day for the last week and a half, calling out to her, begging to see her. He asks if she will go to him.

Without even grabbing a pair of shoes or bidding her father bye she runs out the mansion and has the gates open only for Naruto to envelope her into a bone crushing hug. She is taken off guard and through jumbled apologizes he kisses her face, her cheeks, forehead, nose, temple, lips. She is so overwhelmed it takes a moment for her to attempt to find her words, but by that time Naruto is already dragging her away from her home, barefoot, saying he needed to take her to the club.

Being able to at least mention the fact she has no shoes, Naruto lifts her up in his rush and kind of runs off with her over his shoulder. Hinata is both flabbergasted and speechless as she runs the whole way downtown with her over his shoulder.

They get to the club, its open, but no one is in. Without explanation he sets her in a chair in the center of the stage, tells her to stay as he runs off and prepares music from the DJ stand.

Back at her side he doesn't take his eyes off her, he's dead serious as he explains as the opening melody creeps in, that he should have said all of this the day she asked if he loved her.

(The song ends up being The One by Skillet. Another option other than Say Goodbye that I was thinking to be the song Naruto sings to make up with Hinata was Your Better Than Drugs, also by Skillet. But I chose The One because it was a parallel to The One by Utada Hikaru. While UH's version was a song about unrequited love and heartbreak, The One by Skillet was a song confessing love, asking for forgiveness and admitting they needed the other. [though it could also be compared to a person's relationship with god since, ya'know, Christian rock band and all that. But this works too])

The song, of course, brings tears to Hinata's eyes and Naruto asks if they can start over. He raises a hand and introduces himself, Hinata gives him a watery smile and takes his hand to shake it, introducing herself and feeling assured everything from this point on would be fine.

Naruto grins and he says he's happy to meet her and if she would do the honor of going out on a date with him. She smiles and agrees.

And that was how it would end.

Other things to note was that I was at a loss deciding if officially if I would make Ellie Goulding Hinata's singing voice or Utada Hikaru. I had planned for Hinata's first solo to be a performance of Starry Eyed, even drew fan art I never posted of her in the outfit she would have performed in. Another possible song she could have sang with maybe Ryou was Dead Hearts, there was Walking on Air by Kerli as a thought too, but her voice didn't quite fit with Hinata's softer spoken tone.

Naruto was a mishmash of Skillet and Nickleback. I would have maybe had him sing Riot though, maybe.

Sasuke was Three Days Grace, possibly Linkin Park

Neji, other than some visual kei, I was feeling Breaking Benjamin, maybe a song or two from Hoobastank.

I was having a hard time thinking of Sakura's voice, I had Katie Perry as a place holder because there were some songs I would have liked for her to sing. I know at some point she would have sang Firework and Unconditionally.

Ino was P!nk all the way because with all the loud mouthed actions she does I could see her with a rougher, louder voice with a lot of sass. Maybe with Eyes on Fire by Blue foundation (Zed Deads remix though) in there too just because I love that song, maybe Hinata singing in the background? Or it just be a Hinata song? Dunno, just one that I might have put in as a remix Shino made since he was the DJ?

So, that's it. That was the entire plot line to Scream Your Heart Out. I'm sorry I just lost interest in it, but I will work on an upload after this one with different scenes and drabbles I would have put in the story that I still have in the back of my mind.
