Chapter Eight:

Red Roses

"Peter…" Wendy said as she started to shake Peter's body. She has never seen anyone like this before, this was not the Peter she knew and loved. "Why won't you wake up Peter" she exclaimed. When Tinkerbell heard what was going on she quickly flew into the room, as she saw Peter sweating and unable to wake up she stopped Wendy from continuing. "Why did you stop me" Wendy asked as Tinkerbell landed onto her shoulder. "He has to come back to reality himself Wendy" Tinkerbell said as she was struck with sadness. As soon as Wendy heard that she quickly ran out of the room crying.

"What is going through your brain Peter" Tinkerbell thought as she started to fly out of the room, as soon as Tinkerbell started to fly away she heard a subtle sound. A sound that only the purest fairy born from the purest baby's laugh could hear. "What did you say?" Tinkerbell asked as she slowly started to get closer to Peter. "Peter I don't know what's going through your mind or what is happening to you, but what I do know is that you can overcome this" Tinkerbell said as a tear started to fall from the right side of her face.

Peter's body was starting to become even hotter, but for some strange reason Tinkerbell had an idea of what was happening. Tinkerbell quickly grabbed Peter's dagger and with all her strength tried to carry it towards Peter's body. "Peter I hope you forgive me" Tinkerbell said as she let go of the dagger just above his right hip. The moment the dagger hit Peter, Peter screamed so hard that Tinkerbell was brushed out of the hideout. Peter then started screaming in pain, while grabbing his side. Peter then quickly grabbed the dagger and flung it out of his body and into the wall.

"How long have I been out?" Peter asked himself, as Peter started walking out of his room while still grabbing his bleeding side. "Who are you" a voice asked, Peter turned to see who was asking, but no one was there. "Wendy is that you?" Peter asked while rubbing his eyes. "I can't believe you don't remember me" the voice said as the ground started to shake. Peter still trying to recover from the stab wound fell to the ground. "Who are you and what do you want from me" Peter screamed as he tried to crawl to the door to get outside.

When Peter finally made it to the doorway everything stopped, Peter was just starting to remember what had happened to him during his sleep. "Mathew, are you here?" Peter shouted, but no answer. For some strange reason something didn't feel right, like the island wasn't right. Peter then quickly called Tink. "Tink where are you" Peter nervously shouted, he then remembered something that Wendy had said when she first came to Neverland. "Just play your flute, and everyone who loves you will come to you" Peter remembered, as he was drastically patted his self for the flute.

"I hope this works" Peter said as he played his flute, a few moments went by and nothing. Peter thought he it didn't work, until he heard her voice. "Peter you're okay" Tinkerbell said as she hugged him. "Tink I don't know what's happening to me or what's going on, but we need to find out what and fast" Peter said as he started to fly. "Where are we going?" Tinkerbell asked as she followed, "I need to see the whole entire Island" Peter said. Once they got around forty-five thousand miles above the island he stopped.

Peter felt that something was wrong, but couldn't think of what was going on. Peter then felt he was alone, he was somewhat alone when something caught his attention. It was something he has heard before, but what. He then slowly followed the sound while trying to think of what it was. "It's something that I've heard before" Peter thought, "But what?" when Peter finally reached the shore he had an idea of what it was, but then something that he had never seen before caught his eye.

Peter just stood there in shock at this… this… person who he had never seen before or didn't even know how they got onto the main island let alone Neverland. "Who are you?" Peter asked as the person walked towards him. "I'm Rose" the girl said, for some reason Peter could not stop looking at Rose. For good reason Rose had medium length blond hair, petite body, eyes that made the bluest ocean look horrible in comparison and he couldn't stop smiling. When Rose looked at Peter she started to giggle, Peter didn't know why and became nervous.

"Welcome to Neverland" Peter nervously said, but for some reason Rose was looking at the ocean more than the Neverland Forest. "Is something wrong Rose?" Peter asked as he sat beside her. "Well it's something that happened to me" Rose said as she started to cry. Peter who felt really bad and couldn't stand it when a lady was upset quickly flew in front of her face, "its ok you can tell me, I'm going through something myself" Peter said. Rose who looked up into Peter's brown eyes and smiled, "you're really sweet you know that" Rose said.

As Rose started to tell him her story Peter was shocked, not shocked on what happened, but more shocked on how that could have happened to a lady like herself. When she was done it was getting dark. "Rose" Peter said as he laid looking at the stars. "Yes Peter" she said looking at him and smiling. "Do you have a place to sleep tonight?" he asked "because if you don't I could give you my place." Rose was happy that Peter had said something like that, "How come you're so nice?" she asked. Peter laughed, "I want you to be happy and that's what friends do" Peter said smiling.

Rose's happiness quickly turned to sorrow, "Is something wrong Rose?" Peter asked. "Oh… yea, I'm alright it's just nobody has ever been as nice to me as you have." Rose said. Peter then grabbed her hand and guided her to his hideout. Rose was starting to get tired and so was Peter, "Rose welcome to your new home, and trust me you will love it here" Peter thought. Half way there Rose had fallen asleep and Peter had to carry her. "Can I tell you something Peter" Rose whispered into Peter's ear, Peter was blushing and nodded. "I'm glad I met you" Rose said as she gently kissed his cheek, when she kissed Peter something inside of him went crazy.

Once they had gotten to the hideout he gently put Rose in a chair, while he got the clean sheet for the bed. Rose slightly opened her eyes to see how hard Peter was working on making the bed for her. Once he was done he quietly woke her up and guided her to the bed. Being so tired Peter had to use all of his strength to keep her from falling. Peter wanted his new friend to be happy so he then tucked her in and asked one last question before leaving, "do you need anything else Rose?" Peter asked. "This may sound a little weird but can you stay here with me" Rose asked as she turned towards him. Peter walked towards the chair and sat down, "I wouldn't leave you on your first night" Peter said as he blew out the candle.

Once they both got comfortable Rose said something that made him think, "I wish we can be together forever Peter" Rose said as she started to drift off to sleep. Peter on the other hand knowing what she said could not sleep with his mind racing with that and what has happened. But eventually he had fallen asleep, and as the night went on something magical was happening between Rose and Peter. Something that the oldest fairy has seen only seen once. That when it does happen it can either turn out to be for the greater good or for the root of all evil.
