"WHYYYYY HAVE YOU CAALLLLLLEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD USSSSSSSSSSSS HEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Amelia droned from her perch on Nickolai's lap into the phone. Said Byelorussian was lazily sipping from a mug with his other arm wrapped around his busty girlfriend's middle.
Alexei was standing beside the kettle, removing the tea-bags from the mugs of steaming drink he'd just brewed. The various housemates had been clustered around the table for about twenty minutes waiting for Alice to return from the doctors with "news". When the doorbell had rung five minutes previously, they'd imagined that Alice had forgotten her keys, and instead found her brothers perched on the step, mumbling about a text from Alice.
"Look, me and Francis are driving down the road now, we'll be home in two minutes!" Alice's crackled voice spilled down the phone.
"Fine fine, but your brothers are here too so if Frenchie tries something-"
"He wont try anything. Besides, its good news!" Alice's voice sounded very pleased. "See you in a second!"
As soon as the line dropped, the group heard a car pull into the driveway and heard the doors opening and shutting, before the murmured sounds of two voices.
"So he really is French?!" Dylan whispered to Connor, who nodded. Alice and Francis rounded the corner a second later.
"Oh, Francis would you like a cup of tea?"
"Oui… that'd be nice…" he nodded, both trying to sound nonchalant as they made their way to the kettle.
"Mugs are in that cupboard there." She guided him and he pulled down two mugs. She dropped two bags in and they both stood with their backs to the anxious cluster, waiting for the tea to boil. After Alice had poured the steaming liquid into the mugs, Alistair appeared beside her.
"Oi, little sis you should be sitting down…" he muttered, before dragging Alice across to the table and forcing her into his chair. Francis carried over the tea.
"So, whats this big news?" Maddie whispered, but nobody except her sister heard her over the clamour of the group introducing themselves (mostly in a hostile way) to Francis.
"Yo! Maddy asked whats the big news!" Amelia yelped.
"Oh…" Alice blinked, before turning to Francis. "Do you want to tell them or shall I?"
"You can, mon cher."
"Well…" there was a slight pause from Alice as she looked at the group.
"Spit it out!" Nickolai snarled.
"We're having twins." She smiled.
"Right, now I know you're screwed a bit little sis, because one baby would be hard enough." Dylan grinned and rubbed her head.
" "But if you are having twins…." Connor blinked. "You can be sure as you can't cook that we'll be there to help… probably not physically but financially, and-"
"What do you mean financially?!" Francis frowned
"We mean that in case you do turn out to be a deadbeat, our family won't suffer."
"I am no deadbeat! I happen to own my own business you fool! Better than whatever you do-"
"I'm a student, I'll admit but I graduate soon and I've already been accepted into a high paying job-"
"And I'm sure Francis wont be a deadbeat dad, but if you're so sure why are you even here?!" Alice stood and glared at her brothers, before leaving the room

"Alice!" Francis followed her out and caught up with her at the staircase. "What are you doing?"
"C-can I stay at your place for a bit?"
"Oui…" Francis ran his fingers through his long-hair and watched as she trudged upstairs. "But the flat isn't finished and-"
"Your place." She repeated, swinging open her door and looking around. "unless that's a proble-"
"Non! It is fine, mon cher." He sighed. "What are you looking for?"
"Suitcase…."
"Under the bed?" he asked, and she moved the cover before he grabbed the bag. She began to fill it with her clothes, before freezing.
"How long until I'm huge." She whispered. Francis stepped towards her and wrapped his arms around her shoulders.
"You have a little while…. But you won't be huge. Besides, we'll soon have you decked out in all the nicest maternity wear this side of Paris!" he smiled slightly. Alice blinked.
"Not worth me dragging a ton of clothes though is it?" she muttered. Francis shrugged.
"If you wanna live at my place permanently, we can grab the rest of your stuff later."
"Maybe." She nodded, before filling a large satchel with more suitable clothes for her impending swell.
"Alice?" Amelia was standing in the doorway. "What's happening?"
"Well, I would've had to move out anyway. But I'm going to stay with Francis for a while."
"You don't have to go… Me and Anya were excited about training the baby to be a lapdancer or something… we could compete with two off them…." She looked up at Francis. "Y'know its funny. I've never seen you look so contented in the whole time I've known you." Maddy suddenly appeared beside her.
"Even if your bothers don't care…" she seemingly whispered. "I'm pretty sure all of us here give you two our blessing. We'll say you've gone to cool your head and tell your brothers to leave, then explain the situation to the others."
"Thanks." Alice smiled. Francis picked up her bag. "Ready to go, mon cher?"
"Oui."
