OMG WAT.

Sorry about the long wait for this update. Just... I couldn't bear writing this story after last chapter. Bad memories.

Anyway, this Luka is the Luka from Blackjack because man. Just. JUST-

NINE: Dealer

"First time playing Poker?" the quick dealer asked, flipping and shuffling and spreading all the cards across the table within seconds, beating Miku while she tried to answer. The older folk surrounding her glared and rolled their wise eyes, spots of old age clouding their irises.

"Err, um, yeah," she meekly answered, looking at her hand. The other miscellaneous casino noises were tuned out while she figured out what she could do. Her turn was fast approaching.

"I take your five and raise you a twenty," a confident woman said, tossing her two high-value tokens on the table. The dealer whistled, shaking her head at the bold move. And so, now it came to Miku. She shook and was going to pass, when she accidentally tossed the highest-value token on the table (a fifty), eliciting surprised noises from the group. The dealer smirked at her, the little heart tattoo on her left cheek squishing a little.

Miku took in her outfit while everyone played. It was a one-piece that clung to her skin and looked like a tux with a red bow tie, although it stopped very, very high on her thighs it almost didn't look like shorts. Her gloves were a long black, and she had a red bow in her hair as well. She was attractive, Miku deduced.

When everyone showed their cards, Miku was surprised when all the tokens fell into her lap, a wave of money filling her wallet. She smiled and let out a breath of relief.

"One win for the cute girl over here," the dealer yelled, turning to one of the cocktail waitresses. "Hey Miki, hand this one a drink." Miku blushed when a redhead gently set a glass in front of her, sprinkling it with salt and giving her a wink before taking off.

It was her twenty-first birthday and Miku had decided to hit the casino since she was of legal age – however, since everyone she knew was either busy or had forgotten, she was spending the night alone. The dealer, who was slim with pink-hair and shining turquoise eyes, looked at her with a delicate smile, as if she somehow knew everything about Miku.

"All right everyone, game over," she announced, the elderly people now leaving their spots at the table, until only the two were left alone. Bills were left as a tip, and she hastily picked them up, throwing said bills into her cleavage. "So, what's your name, cutie?"

Blushing, Miku looked at her drink. It was fruity yet still had that flare of alcohol. "Miku. Miku Hatsune," she replied, taking a long sip from the thin straw in her glass.

"Ahh, cute," the pink-haired girl said with a click of her tongue. "I'm Luka Megurine. So you came here alone, eh?" At the question, her eyebrows did a little jolt as she watched Miku jump in her seat, another blush overcoming her features.

Luka smirked again, leaning across her table when nobody approached for a game. "Why's that? Boyfriend no fun tonight?" she asked, specifically wanting a reaction – verbal or not.

Miku shook her head. "No boyfriend over here," she casually stated. "No girlfriend either, if that's what you're thinking." Now it was her turn to wink, and Luka's turn to blush. She hadn't expected her question to turn on her.

Laughing, Luka winked. "Well, if you wouldn't mind waiting a little, let's hang out once my shift ends. You're only 21 once," she stated, watching as Miku's shell began to crack.

As the night rolled on the two conversed and got to know each other (Luka revealing she was, in fact, five years older and Miku not reacting to such fact), with Miku joining in frequent games and becoming a quick master at the game – she earned herself more than her paychecks in a mere two hours.

"So," Luka sighed against a glass of beer, Miku leaning against her shoulder. The birthday girl wasn't drunk, but not quite sober either. After Miki had brought her her fourth glass of alcohol, she became a lot more open. "Why celebrate your 21st at a casino.. alone?"

Miku hummed, "Because everyone is just too busy to make time and because I always wanted to, ya know?" She nuzzled her cheek against Luka's shoulder. The two were lounging in an area near the casino's entrance, the seat plushy and large enough for them to lean against. Luka had one arm around Miku's waist and the other at a perfect angle. "But I'm glad. I met someone hot!"

The two chuckled and Luka tightened her hold. It was nearing midnight, and she was sure Miku had to leave soon – whereas she was planning on play around on the slots for another hour or two. "Say, you need to be up early tomorrow?"

"Not really. Just at like ten, why?"

"No reason," Luka quickly responded, taking a gulp to avoid explaining herself. She could see Miku's deviant smirk, and looked away, a blush staining her cheeks. "Fine, geez. Just don't want you to leave is all."

Miku cuddled into her even more and smiled against her neck. The alcohol had done some damage to her former fumbling self. "Well I wouldn't leave without getting your number," she laughed.

And so, they exchanged numbers and got up to wander the casino, Luka occasionally finding some friend to converse with, all the while Miku was being tightly kept at her waist.

It was two in the morning and Miku let out her first yawn, the two going outside to head for the tealette's car. Luka carefully guided her down the stairs and towards her car, the sinking of her gut making her frown.

"Well, nice meeting you, Miku," she said as Miku unlocked said vehicle and opened the front seat. Then, judging by her drowsy expression, her eyes widened. "Ah, are you okay to drive through? I can take you home, i-if you'd let me."

Miku smiled and happily skipped around the car, getting into the passenger seat while Luka smirked and got in, turning it on. "You little..." she laughed, turning to look at her companion only to be met with a pair of lips. It took a few seconds to sink in, but soon she began responding, closing her eyes.

Pulling away, Miku glared at her and crossed her arms. "What was with that hesitation, huh," she grumbled, blushing.

"You know, normally people don't kiss other people on the nights they first meet," Luka shot back with her eyebrows raised. "But I didn't expect it. Didn't mean I didn't like it." Leaning to lock lips with her again, she waited until Miku's arms wound around her neck and the kiss got heated to pull away. "See?"

"Now let's get the heck back to your place, huh?"

Miku had no idea how fast her car could go until Luka began to drive it. And it wasn't until they were back at her condo that she realized why.
