A/N: ...Hopefully this chapter fleshes the story out a bit more.

Okra sat at her late husband's throne, one leg crossed over the other as she watched the recording on the 36 inch projector. It was a Scouter recording uploaded to the computer terminal inside of the Royal Palace. The video was a comfortable distance away from her, close to the steps that led to the seat of authority, and she played back the section showing the armored Saiyan who fought Frieza ascending into Super Saiyan.

He must be a descendant of the royal bloodline, Okra thought with surety. Besides the fact that the man on video was clean shaven and obviously not as tall, he was a mirror image of her husband. The fingers of her right hand tapped the armrest impatiently while her left hand lay on her lap. She huffed in annoyance, trying to make sense of it all. Accompanying her husband look-alike were two low-class saiyans she didn't recognize.

"Is a Super Saiyan really in a class of it's own?" she asked herself. On another note, why did the one who killed Frieza consent to her wishes so easily? Surely, he outclassed her and by proxy everyone else on the planet? Perhaps she would find the answer to all of these questions tomorrow. Her enthusiasm not dampened in the least, she replayed the recording of the Super Saiyan transformation several more times.

"My Liege," another voice stated from off to the side. It was Zorn, the Royal Advisor. After King Vegeta's death, his duty was now to advise the Queen until another King was chosen.

"I do not think allowing those two...strangers free roam of the planet is a wise decision," Zorn continued, clearly not comfortable with the presences of the alleged Super Saiyan and his compatriot. He stood to the side, adjacent to the Royal Throne, with his left hand over his right shoulder in a sign of recognizing higher authority. The Queen had not yet replied and was still watching the playback of the Super Saiyan transformation with narrowed eyes.

"Don't worry yourself over it, Zorn," Okra assured, dismissing Zorn's over-cautiousness. "I doubt they are enemies. Besides, if they wanted to try something, don't you think they would have done it by now?" she continued, tilting her head towards him to regard him.

Zorn grunted, eventually breaking eye contact from Okra's unwavering gaze. It was true the two visitors hadn't done anything remotely aggressive towards Planet Vegeta, but...

"But they swatted Frieza aside as though he was nothing. What if they begin to make demands eventually?"

"I told you not to worry about it. Once I have this Super Saiyan power for myself, they won't be a problem."

"You-You have a method to become a...Super Saiyan?" The Royal Advisor questioned. Just the name "Super Saiyan" was difficult to wrap his mind around. Did that mean it was possible for any Saiyan to achieve that power?

"However, you do have a point. Keep an eye on the both of them. They must have some sort of weakness that can be exploited were they to take aggressive action." The Queen said, ignoring his question.

"As you command," Zorn acknowledged, nodding his head before turning away to head towards the science department. Was the Queen's goal an army of Super Saiyans? If so, Planet Vegeta could take control of the Planet Trade Organization.

"I can teach you how to become Super Saiyans, but be warned, it'll be very difficult to do," Goku began.

"Uh, I think I'll sit this out for now," Gine politely refused. "I'll join in later maybe."

"You sure?" Goku asked. "The first part is tough, but it gets easier towards the end!" he explained, hoping to persuade his mother to join in.

"No, no. Maybe later," she maintained. She wasn't scared, but she just didn't think she could keep up with Bardock, let alone her son, who was leagues above the both of them. She figured she'd only make progress through one on one training. So, she decided she'd just watch Bardock's training and back off for now.

"Don't blame me if I can get to Super Saiyan before you!" Bardock challenged, to which Gine replied by sticking her tongue out.

She still acts so childish, Bardock thought with both appreciation and irritation.

"Well, alright," Goku allowed, replying to Gine's last statement. He then turned his attention to Bardock.

"Alright, dad. The most important thing about Super Saiyan is that you'll never achieve it by simply wanting power. It has to come from a genuine need."

Well, that sounded pointless.

Bardock grunted in acknowledgement, not completely sure what that even meant.

"First, let's get a feel for your power. Come at me with everything you've got!" Goku demanded, entering a relaxed fighting stance.

Now Kakarot was speaking his language. With an excited smile, Bardock launched forward, intent on landing a chambered punch to his son's jaw. To his mild surprise, Goku anticipated the strike, and by effect several of his subsequent strikes, dodging and swaying with high speed. Bardock's punches and kicks were hitting thin air.

Growling in irritation, Bardock switched tactics, deciding to leap over Goku, causing his son to leave his back exposed. Before he could turn around, his father launched his foot at his back, pushing Goku forward, causing him to corkscrew. To his credit, he recovered expertly, landing his hand on the ground, before spinning with the motion and landing on his feet.

"Haha, not bad!" Goku congratulated before suddenly getting serious. "Let's see how long you can keep it up," he added, before sprinting forward. Jumping into the air, he spun quickly and launched a powerful kick at his father, who managed to barely evade by swaying backwards. Goku followed up with a punch from his rear fist, catching Bardock in the chest. He was bodily lifted backwards from the force of the punch before recovering into a backflip the moment he hit the ground.

If Kakarot were using 100%, I'd be feeling more than just a dull ache in my chest, Bardock analyzed, straightening his back and feeling a distinct pop. He must have hit his ribcage pretty hard. It smarted, but nothing was broken.

He must be suppressing his power, he realized, simultaneously disappointed and grateful. He had to learn how to do that. That must have many useful applications, he figured.

Cracking his neck, Bardock took a breath and exhaled before charging in again.

As he wouldn't need to visit the palace again until the next day, Vegeta decided to sightsee and memorize some of the locations near the palace. He had stopped flying moments ago, and decided to walk, as he was now in a square of sorts. As he silently walked through the area, looking at buildings and committing some of the city's view to memory, many saiyans scattered around the area watched him in varying mixes of awe and slight fear.

To his satisfaction, they were affording him space as he traversed the city, which was much less annoying than them gawking at him up close. At this moment, Vegeta decided that to hell what the Queen wanted, he was going to stroll into the Science Department building, even if he had to fight the whole planet. To do this he had to walk for a couple of minutes, passing several buildings, such as a nursery, an arena, and a meat processing building, almost every single saiyan he passed by ending up staring at him at some point. Finally, he came upon a grandiose building surrounded by generators, emphasizing the fact that the establishment required large amounts of power. Two guards blocked the entrance.

"Sir, we're gonna have to ask you to turn back, Queen's orders."

Vegeta noticed the sweat slowly trailing down the speaker's side of his face. Vegeta smiled inwardly. He knew he was outclassed by far. The fact that he heavily resembled King Vegeta probably didn't help. However, Vegeta was disappointed that the Queen followed through with her seemingly pointless threat of barring him entrance to the building. He needed to get home, but he didn't want to kill his own people to do it. There's no way he could get to where he needed without accidentally murdering someone at this point.

Damn it all, Vegeta seethed. He crossed his arms and turned around with a grunt. He really did not feel like making a scene or enemies of the Saiyans, not when the Cold family would surely be heading here soon. Vegeta was extremely angry with himself for suddenly losing his resolve. His mother was just so, so infuriating and extremely arrogant. He walked away without saying another word, at a loss as to how to spend the rest of the day.

The guard, on the other hand was extremely relieved. Vegeta ignored them and decided to head towards where the space pods would be located. Nappa and Raditz should be making a return landing in a few minutes.

A/N: ...Alright, so the combat scene wasn't that long, I admit, but I will definitely try my best to include more of them.
