Chapter 9

Percy Pov
Hayley visibly gulped and slowly drew out her hands in from if her. Her hands were shaking badly. She closed her eyes and took a deep shaky breath and concentrated. The water didn't move. She opened her eyes, you could clearly see the disappointment, but a spark of determination. She repeated what she did. It was the same result. The spark of determination was slowly going out by the time she did it the tenth time. Her exhaled through her mouth suddenly and dropped her hands into her lap. Her eyes glistening with tears. She sniffled and quickly rubbed her long sleeve jacket across her eyes when one of the tears managed to escape her eyes. Her brothers looked at her worriedly. Nathan tried to reach out to her by putting a hand over her hand, but she pulled away, rejecting him.
"Why don't you, boys, go play COD or something, while Hayley and I have a chat, hmm?" I suggested to my sons softly, my eyes not leaving Hayley's figure.
The boys nodded mutely and made their way to the stairs.
Once they disappeared, Hayley choked on a sob. I touched her shoulders slightly. "I don't think I have the sea running in my veins." She said sadly.
I shook my head, "No, that isn't true." I said, trying to convince her. I got up and offered my hand to Hayley. She took it silently, still sniffling a little. "Come on," I said, "I want to show you something." She nodded. I went to the lowest part of the boat. I willed the boat to slowly come to a stop. I step off the boat into the water, I looked up at my daughter, silently asking her to follow me into the water. She looked at like I was crazy. When she saw I was serious, she shook her head furiously. "Oh, come on! It's just water!" I said smiling teasingly. She smiled slightly and carefully dipped herself in the clear water. "See, that wasn't too bad!" I said grinning. She just rolled her eyes, but she was smiling. "Ok, now take a deep breath and go under water just for a second. And I know what I'm doing." I add quickly after she gave me a unsure look. She did what she was told, once her head broke over the surface I said, "Now get out of the water." She looked at me oddly, but did as I said. "Now how do you feel?" I asked eyeing her carefully.
"Ok...?" She said
I shook my head, "Let me rephrase that. How do you feel about your outfit?"
She looked down, "Is there something wrong? I didn't wear anything revealing, it's not like its wet... What?! It's suppose to be wet! Why am I dry?" She demanded. I chuckled, "I told you, you do have the sea in your veins." She grinned after a while of dipping herself in the water, then get out again she said , "Can I try the tub of water thingy again?"
I nodded. When we sat down across from each other, she, again, put out her hands, palm facing out wards. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath and concentrated. I focused my gaze on the water. I watched as the water rise very slowly into the air. "Now open your eyes." I ordered.
"I can't! I'll lose concentration!" She cried shakily.
"It's ok! I'll do something that will keep it still." I said.
"No! I don't need your help!" She said. I sighed mentally, she had sure her mother's stubbornness. I tried again, "I freeze the water then you can open your eyes and see your progress. You want to see your progress, right?"
She thought for a while then she said, "Ok, fine." I froze the water with ease. "Ok, done. You can open your eyes now."
Hayley cracked open an eye. Then opened the other eye and looked at the frozen water with awe. "I did it! Woo!" She yelled to the sky as she punched the air. The sky rumbled in laughter. "Ok! You still have to let down the water. With control." I said smiling.
"Ok. Ok." She said trying to suppress her grin.
After she let it down, Hayley gave me a quick hug then ran downstairs probably to play COD or tell her brothers about her success .

I stopped the boat. It was around 5:00 PM. Everyone was either sleeping or playing video games. I leaned against the railing on the deck and peered at the water below me. The water was clear, but slightly murky. There was dead plants floating on the water. "Hey." A familiar voice say. I turned around and smiled, "Hey, wisegirl. Come join me on the deck." Annabeth climbed onto the deck with little trouble. She leaned on the railing next to me, I wrapped a arm around her waist and pulled her into me. I switched my gaze from the water to Annabeth. What are we now? Friends? Best friends? Is she my girl- "What are you thinking about?" Annabeth asked cutting through my thoughts. I sighed deeply, "Annabeth, what are we?" I asked her.
"What do you mean?" She asked, confusion written on her face.
"I mean," I turned to face her, "... Never mind." I said changing my mind. Annabeth looked concerned, but didn't question me. For that I was thankful. She looked back at the water, mesmerized by its waves. I took that chance and looked over at her. Her golden hair shined under the sun, she had perfect face structure and her eyes. Oh, her eyes. They were so beautiful, they held such knowledge and wisdom. They held kindness and understanding. They calculated everything. Annabeth has a small frame, that just happens to fit into me. She had all the curves in the right places and had beautiful legs. I looked at her lips. They were so soft and warm when we kissed. I loved kissing her. It was amazing when we had our first real kiss under water.
That gave me a idea. I smirked at little and guided Annabeth carefully to the end of the deck where there was no railing. Annabeth turn to me, she opened her mouth to ask a question. I took the opportunity to smash my lips against hers. Her eyes closed immediately and melted into me. She wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me closer. I wrapped my arms around her small frame and I smiled against her lips. Then I fell back first into the water with Annabeth on top of me, she let out a yelp when we landed into the water. She immediately held her breath. I chuckled, she clearly forgot about the necklace. I mimicked her, puffing out my cheeks and squeezing my eyes shut, making my face look a little red. "Hey!" She cried out, then when she realized what she did, she smashed her hand on her mouth, in shock. Now I was full out laughing, "You can breathe under water! Remember the necklace?" I said after I calmed down. Her face flushed red with embarrassment, "Shut up." I chuckled and took her hand. I willed the water to bring us to the sea floor, it was still quite clear on the sea floor. "Now to do what I wanted to do in the first place." I said slyly and brought my lips onto her soft ones.
Her arms went around my neck and brought me closer as I traced circles on her hips. We broke apart for air, but the second later I smashed my mouth in her lips and shoved my tongue into her open mouth. She moaned softly as my tongue explored her mouth. My hands roamed under her shirt. I groaned as she tugged on my bottom lip with her teeth. She took off my shirt and started tracing my abs. We broke apart and I started kissing her collarbone to the back of her ear. I slowly took off her shirt and started to un clasp her bra. But her hands stopped me, "Percy." I stopped immediately and looked away embarrassed. "No, Percy look at me." She said sternly. I gave her back her shirt still without looking at her. "Percy...?" She asked softy, "Please look at me." I sighed as she brought her hand and lifted my chin up, so we could see eye to eye.
"Percy, it's not that I don't want to do this with you. It's just that, we are on a baby might come out early in a middle of a fight. And that would be bad, right? And I don't want to start puking every morning or having mood swings or weird cravings when we are on a boat with limited supplies." Annabeth said after putting on her shirt and looking straight into my eyes.
"It's ok, I understand." I said smiling slightly, feeling better.
"But I promise, when we get home and safe and we are alone for the rest of the night. We will do it ok?" Annabeth said smiling.
"Sure, wisegirl." I said pecking her on the lips.
"Come on, looks like its dinner soon." She said.
"Already? That was fast." Then I winked at her, "You know the saying, time goes fast when you are having fun." I said patting her on the nose. She blushed cutely. "Well?" She asked after a while.
"Well what?" I asked honestly confused.
"Aren't you going to will us up to the surface? It's going to take to long to swim for me." She said in a 'duh' tone.
"Oh! Right!" I said sheepishly and took her hand, willing the water to move us upward.
"You're such a seaweed brain." She said kissing my cheek.
