Chapter Nine

Lucy clung to Laxus' shirt, afraid that if she let go everything around her would disappear and she would be back in that horrible cell. She felt her eyes start to burn for the tears that were threating to fall and she fought them back. This was the first time in what felt like forever for her that she was with her mates and the last think she wanted to do was worry them.

Lucy decided to take in her surroundings to try and help with her tears. Walking to the left of Laxus was Gajeel who had his arms across his chest and a pissed off look on his face. He was not pleased with the fact that they had to bring the person he kept referred to as the 'little bitch' with them but he wasn't about to go against his mate. Laxus still held the blonde haired mage close to his chest with a small smile in his face. He spent most of his time looking at her as if fearing that she would vanish out of his arms. To the right of him was Bickslow with his hands in his pockets and Gray in front stripping off his clothes. Both the males were on high alert for any enemy that may come at this. Behind them walked Natsu with his hands behind his head and a goofy grin on his face. No one had been able to wipe it off his face since that had left the dark guild hall with Lucy. Erza walked down wind a little ways from them with Amaya slung over her shoulder. They all had agreed that it would be best if Natsu was not able to smell the small girl.

They had been walking for hours and all around them they were surrounded by trees, but the celestial mage felt at peace with her mates. How long had it been since the last time she heard birds chirping and something other than a stone wall? She lost track of the time she had spent chained to the cold, rough stone wall, not even being able to see the suns light. The blonde haired female shook her head refusing to remember the time she spent in that cursed room. She was back with her mates and friends and that is all that mattered.

"Are you ok Cosplayer?" asked Bickslow's worried voice beside her. She shifted in Laxus' arms to be able to look at him and gave the best smile she could.

"Yes I am fine, just a tired is all."

"Then get some sleep. It will still be a little while before we get to the guild," Gajeel voice said.

Lucy turned back into her normal position in Laxus' arms, resting her head on his chest, and closing her eyes. "I think I will," she whispered and with that she let the darkness take her. For the first time in days Lucy was able to sleep with no nightmares to haunt her dreams.

The next time Lucy opened her eyes she let out a groan and tried to roll onto her side but there was a large amount of weight on her chest, stomach, and legs. It was not enough to make it hard for her to breath but enough to where she couldn't move. She looked down and couldn't help the warm smile that crossed her lips and a small chuckle escape her lips. This was the moments that she missed most of all while she was locked up in that hell hole. Laxus laid on right with his head resting on his chest and his hand up against his mouth like he was about to start sucking his thumb at any moment. Gajeel was between her legs with his head on her stomach and drool coming out of the side of his mouth. Bickslow laid on her left with his head in her hip while his arms and legs were wrapped around her leg like a small child begging for a toy.

It took a moment before Lucy was able to pry her eyes from her beloved mates to look around the room. She was relieved to find that she was back at Fairy Tail in the infirmary and most of her wounds had been healed. "I'll have to remember to thank Wendy when I see her," whispered Lucy to herself.

"Good to see you're finally awake," said Fairy Tail master as he walked into the room with a large grin on his face. "We are glad to have you back, though I don't think the word glad come close to what we are feeling now."

"I'm happy to be back master," Lucy said with her own large smile plastered on her face. "How long have I been asleep?"

"Just a little bit shy of twenty four hours."

"WHAT?!"

Lucy's yell caused her mates to jump up on high alert thinking that someone was attacking. They calmed down when they noticed that it was just something master had told the blonde haired mage to cause her to react in such a way.

"What the hell Bunny, don't freak us out like that!" Gajeel yelled at the young woman. Once he realized that their mate was safe the relief that he felt was quickly pushed down by anger.

"I'm sorry." Lucy looked down at the floor ashamed that she caused her mates to worry over nothing.

"Don't yell at her!" Bickslow yelled at the dark haired male. He was happy that there was not threat to the blonde haired woman and when he heard the iron dragon slayer yelling at her he couldn't stop his anger that shot up.

Laxus moved to sit next to his mate once more, letting the two mages fight with one another, and started to rub her back. "It is ok Blondie. Metal head just over reacted." When she looked up at him he gave her his brightest smile.

Warmth filled Master Makarov as he watch the scene play out before him. He wished her team could be in here to see her, but her mates and he decided that it would be better to make sure she was much better before they allowed her hyped up team to be around her. He just wished Wendy was able to heal her completely, but with the state for their little 'guest' Wendy was only able to use half on Lucy. The master knew that he needed to get answers about the girl so he could figure out if he needed to call the magic council to come pick her up, but at the same time he did not want to ruin the moment for Lucy and her mates.

It was almost half an hour later before everyone started to settle down and that was when the old man cleared his throat to get their attention. Once all eyes were on him he began to speak, "I don't mean to cut in but I need to ask Lucy some questions about out visitor."

Lucy felt her heart drop when she realized that she had completely forgotten about Amaya and it fell even more when she notice how master said visitor. Though she really could not blame any of them for that, the small girl was part of the dark guild and one of the ones that kept her mates and friends distracted so that they could kidnap her. In their eyes Amaya was the enemy, but looking back at everything that Amaya had done, even though it was not much, she could help but look at the lavender eyed girl as a friend. "What do you want to know?" Lucy asked quietly, scared of what was to come.

"Is part of the dark guild and one of the ones who help kidnap you?" Makarov asked, his face going serious. He already knew the answer from Gray but he wanted to just double check the facts with Lucy.

"Yes she was, but it isn't what you think!" Lucy wanted them to understand and to see Amaya through her eyes.

"Did you save her because you knew she was Natsu's mate?" Makarov was a little stunned by her outburst, but he pushed on with his questioning. He had caught bits and pieces about what had occurred at the dark guild, but it was hard to figure out what happened first with everyone wanting to tell their side of the story at once.

"No, I saved her before that. I saved her because she is my friend."

Everyone snapped their heads to Lucy not able to hide the shock and horror on their face. It took everyone a moment to come out of their shock and they just stared at the blonde haired female mage like she had grown three heads. "Please explain, I think we all are having a hard time understanding," Makarov's finally said.

"She helped me out a lot when I was trapped in that place, even things that could have cost her her life. I need to ask that what I am about to tell you not to leave this room because if it does it means life and death for Amaya."

Master Makarov gave her a nod indicating he understood and raised his hand casting a spell that allowed no one to enter or hear what was being said. "You have my word my child. If anyone so much as started to even mention anything about what you tell us they will be severely punished." The sternness of the master's voice caused little shivers of fear to travel up all three mates spine.

"Thank you Master. Amaya helped me escape once before, before you guys found me, and I take it was the smell of my blood that lead you to me?" asked Lucy looking at her mates.

"Yes, but how did you know?" asked Bickslow studying the celestial dragon half breed closely.

"Amaya was the one that left the blood for you to follow, for you to save me." Lucy waited for her words to sink before continuing. "I don't think she is evil like everyone else in the dark guild. Her father is the master so I think she was and still is forced to be there."

"I see. Well that makes the choice of whether to call the magic council that much harder then." The gray haired man seemed to be deep in thought before he continued talking. "I know I already told everyone in this room and Team Natsu to keep quiet about this Amaya's involvement in the dark guild and in Lucy's kidnapping until we found out the full facts. That is to remain in effect until I say otherwise. Laxus, after we are done here you will make sure to notify Lucy's team of this."

Before the large blonde haired man could put up a fight against his grandfather there was movement from the other side of the room and a load grown. Everyone looked to see Amaya now sitting up with her hands on both sides of her head and a painful look on her face. "What the fuck," Amaya growled out between clench teeth, her eyes were tightly shut unable to look at her surroundings.

"Amaya!" Lucy called the young girls name worriedly as she jumped of her bed and to her friend's side with her mates right behind her. They just got their mate back and they were not about to take any chances whether Lucy vouched for the pixie haired girl or not.

Amaya opened her eyes half way and let out another grown as the pain in her head intensified. "Where the hell am I?"

Makarov watches on as Lucy began to explain to the purple haired girl where she was, but he was not paying any attention to the word exchange. Before now Amaya had been covered up by a blanket keeping her tattoo from view, but now that he saw it his face became very serious. "Show me your chest," he ordered the girl, cutting Lucy and Amaya off from their conversation. He had not put much thought in how to phrase the question; he was just hoping to rule out what he thought it was.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" Lucy shrieked as she spun around and glared at the master, but she was halted in her thoughts as she saw the expression on the masters face. Something wasn't right. Bickslow, Gajeel, and Laxus didn't say anything but looked back and forth between the old man and Amaya.

"I don't want to see your whole chest, just the part right over your heart," Master Makarov cleared up.

Amaya gave the gray haired mage a bored look as the pain in her head began to subside, but she did as she was told and pulled her tank top down just enough to show the part over her heart. There on her chest was a red mark that looked like a skull with chains wrapped tightly around it. She only gave them a few seconds to look before she moved her shirt back into place.

"What the hell is that?" Gajeel demanded from the girl with a glare. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he knew that it had something to do with the markings that covered her whole body. The dark purple haired girl just seemed to ignore him and lay down and stared at the ceiling.

"It is a forbidden spell," master cut in causing everyone's eye to be on him. "It has been banned for centuries now and it is punishable by death if anyone is ever caught casting it. It allows the caster to take control of whoever it is cast on whenever they please, basically turning them into a slave." The master looked at Amaya with pity in his eyes. "I guess the good news is that they caster has to be close to the person it is cast on to be used. I must ask you girl who cast the spell?"

After hearing what the master said everything seemed to made more since now to Lucy. Amaya only ever tortured her when Takeshi was around, and when Kenshin was around he was always the one doing all the work. The only time Amaya ever hurt her with Takeshi not around was to get her blood to lead her mates to her. "Takeshi, her father, and master of the dark guild cast the spell," Lucy whispered, but load enough for everyone to hear.

"Are you sure Lucy?"

"Lucy is correct. My father is a master at forbidden spell," Amaya's voice rung out cold and emotionless.
