My eyes fluttered open again at the sound of a loud shout.

"Sam!" I recognized Dean's voice immediately and opened my eyes a little.

"Dean?" I croaked, my throat felt like some one had forcefully shoved handfuls of desert sand down it, my whole body ached and my first thought was, who pushed me through the wood chipper?

My head was propped up on a pillow, it didn't do much, but I was able to see Dean run from the doorway to my side.

"Hey," he said quietly, he opened his mouth as if to say more but didn't know what.

I tried to lift my head, my eyes searching the room for the one person I actually wanted to see.

"Where?" I asked turning to Dean, "where's Gabriel?"

Sam skidded to a halt in the doorway, stared at me in amazement, and then ran to the other side of the bed.

"Gabriel?" Dean asked in astonishment.

"You mean like the arch-angel?" Sam asked, incredulously. "He's the one who rescued you?"

"Wait," Dean frowned, "I thought Gabriel was dead, how could he have saved you?"

I frowned, "Gabriel's just a name I came up with." I lied. I knew it was his real name, but if they thought he was dead then it had to be for a reason. Right?

Sam opened his mouth to say more but I closed my eyes and let myself drift off into sleep again. I really didn't want to deal with them right now, maybe later?

I floated back to consciousness as I felt a hand on my head. Some one was stroking my hair. I opened my eyes slightly and focused on Gabriel sitting next to me on the bed. He was smiling pleasantly and running his fingers through my short hair. One of the men from the last few months had cut it, and it now hung just below my ears.

Gabriel noticed me looking at him and stopped, pulling his hand away.

"Sorry," he said quietly, "did I wake you?"

I shook my head slightly, smiling at him.

"I'm glad your back," I murmured, "I never got to thank you."

"Don't worry about it," Gabriel said, standing up.

I didn't want him to leave, but I also knew I needed to get some sleep and couldn't really do that if I was chasing after cute guys.

Wait, did I call him 'cute'? I thought.

Gabriel turned back and gave me a soft kiss on the forehead, "get some sleep." He murmured.

I closed my eyes and let the image of him settle in my mind.

Sorry this one is really short, it's really just a filler chapter, and I promise the next one will be longer. Thanks.
