A/N: Thank you so much for your support on this story so far! I know I sound like a broken record, but it does really mean a lot to me. I'm not going to really display my dislike on the last episode of TVD, because that would probably take all day. But, because of that I wrote this chapter, and I want to say that I really enjoyed writing it. And fair warning, it's pretty long. But, I really hope you enjoy it =)

Exhilaration. Excitement. Freedom.

The power of dance always made Bonnie feel those emotions at once, and she wouldn't have it any other way. The pain encompassed with pleasure from twisting her body into so many different positions; so many different forms, it was a creation of beauty within itself. Pushing herself beyond what she thought was her maximum limit was nothing less than magical.

That's why Bonnie loved to dance. It was relaxing and satisfying. It was her calm. And getting back into it; finding herself within it again, was everything she could have hoped for. She may have not danced in several years, but she wasn't as rusty as she thought she'd be. Every time her balance became a little too impossible and she fell, she would just get right back up and practice until she got it right. She sincerely loved all of the things she could do with her body, and sometimes when she started, she never wanted to stop.

As she stared at her reflection in the mirror, feeling weightless as she danced, something caught her eye, and made her abruptly stop. She walked closer to the mirror and began touching her eyes. They were pitch black. It reminded her of when she was in that accident on Christmas Eve, though at that time, she had used an immense amount of power. And this time, she didn't know what was going on.

The mirror cracking in front of her made her jump back a little, and when her eyes refocused on everything, she saw Kai standing behind her with a sinister look on his face. Before she could really comprehend anything, her eyes shot open and she sat up in bed in a cold sweat.

Taking a few deep breaths, she looked around and noticed both Caroline and Elena sound asleep in their beds. She was actually glad that she hadn't woken them up this time. This was the fourth night in a row she had a dream that Kai was involved in. The first night she woke up, several items in the room were floating around her bed, the second night, Caroline and Elena were floating, but gratefully they didn't wake up, and the third night, she woke up to Caroline shaking her awake from thrashing around. That ended with Caroline getting one pretty nasty aneurysm that Bonnie didn't have any control over giving, and didn't recall that she had done so. She was just thankful that tonight, nothing out of the ordinary had happened.

Using her mind, she turned her clock towards her to see that it was four in the morning. It would be great if she could get back to sleep since her only class was at eleven, but she knew that it would be damn near impossible to do so. Good thing that she would be headed back to Mystic Falls afterwards for the weekend, and hopefully she would get some uninterrupted sleep.

She was extremely tired of Kai's intrusiveness, and for a moment she wondered if it was really him showing up and messing with her. But that couldn't necessarily be possible, because he had been in a medically induced coma for quite some time now at Alaric's place. And the magic that he had absorbed would have left him by now. He would remain that way until Jo formed enough magic to defeat him in the merge, and she had exactly one month to do so or Liv and Luke would be the unlucky contestants. There was this small part of Bonnie, no matter how sadistic it might be, to say 'the hell with it' and end Kai's life, and have Liv and Luke merge anyway. It would kill one of them, but oh well. Bonnie seemed to be the only one to know that whether Jo gained her powers and strength back that Kai would still annihilate her. His passion and vengeance for power would have almost been inspiring if he wasn't a sadistic lunatic. The only person that could probably put him down would be her, but since she was staying out of it, that wasn't an option. But, when the merge did happen and he did win, if he so much as looked at her funny she would end his life.

If that was uncharacteristic of her, if that made her heartless then so be it.

It didn't take much to realize that Bonnie was irritated right now, and even though Kai entering her dreams would make anyone pissed off, and that she hadn't been sleeping well at night could make anyone cranky, there was another reason that left her frustrated throughout the day. And that had to do with a certain blue eyed vampire not communicating with her.

Grabbing her phone from the night stand, she almost threw it due to the emptiness. She was well aware that there would be absolutely no text messages or missed phone calls from him, but it still made her upset all the same.

Damon had been gone for five weeks now, and it had been close to two weeks that he had not contacted her or responded to any of her text messages and phone calls. She had to pretty much hear from Stefan through Caroline that they were alright. So, that being said, she knew Damon was purposely ignoring her.

It didn't just make her angry, it really hurt her. If his name was mentioned or she went back to look at old texts, her chest would tighten, and a wave of sadness would encompass her. Just like now, and she didn't want to be sad over something she predicted would happen.

Bonnie knew that if Damon left than he would forget all about her and would want nothing to do with her. And that just wasn't fair. How the hell was it okay for him to make a decision like that? They were supposed to be friends; they were supposed to be in it together. Yes, she wanted him to take the time he needed to figure things out and to make himself feel better, but she didn't want him to block her out by doing so.

This was exactly why she didn't want to get involved with anyone. People always leave. Her mother abandoned her, her Grams died, her dad was murdered, and Jeremy cheated on her. Granted, she took Jeremy back, but look where that all led. If it wasn't her constantly sacrificing her life for others, then it was people leaving her behind.

And she was tired of it.

When she finally laid back in bed, it took five minutes of tossing and turning to finally stay still. With all the thoughts rolling around in her head, she knew for a fact that she definitely wouldn't be getting back to sleep.

Gratefully, class came and went quicker than she could have imagined, and now she and Caroline were on the road back to Mystic Falls.

"This is the third night in a row you're having dreams about Kai. Do you think there's more to it?" Caroline asked, after Bonnie finished explaining her recent dream.

"Honestly, I'm not sure. At first I thought it was him trying to fuck with with me while he's comatose, but his powers should have dissipated since he's been unconscious for about a month now."

Silence filled the car for a moment as they tried to come to a better understanding.

"It's just like one moment I'm living my life and then he pops up out of nowhere."

"That is pretty strange, but I'm just glad you didn't wake up with me and Elena on fire."

Bonnie gave her an apologetic look, "I'm sorry about the aneurysm. I really had no idea I was doing it."

Caroline shrugged. "Eh, it wouldn't be our lives if we didn't feel pain at least once a week. But, whatever it is, it will not spoil your birthday tomorrow and what I have planned for tonight."

Bonnie provided a smile to her best friend. She was grateful that Caroline was excited for her birthday, but to Bonnie, lately birthdays were just another regular day to her. She wasn't really that big on birthdays since her grams and dad weren't around anymore to celebrate with her. No matter how many business trips her dad went on, no matter how much he wasn't there at months at a time, he never missed her birthday. They would start the day off with a breakfast that her dad would attempt to cook, but he would always burn something because his cooking skills were awful, and they would end up going to a local diner for breakfast. She would then do something during the day with Caroline, Elena, and Tyler, and then in the evening, she would go to her grams house, and have dinner. Her Grams would tell her stories, and always had a new one to tell each year. It was a tradition she missed desperately.

And now, now she really couldn't do that. But, since Caroline was in charge, she would listen to her and bring in her birthday in party mode. Hell, after everything that had happened in her life, she definitely deserved it.

"I was thinking of taking us to this new club that opened up about an hour out of Mystic Falls. I invited Matt, Tyler, and um… whomever else wants to join."

She glanced at Caroline. "And by whomever, you mean Elena?"

Caroline nodded, "Even though the situation was unexpected, and I definitely don't like what Elena said to you, I still hate that you two aren't talking."

"Frankly, Caroline, I have too much on my plate right now. I get why Elena is upset, but the fact that she would talk to me like she did, after everything we've been through, it's really making me reconsider some things. So right now, space is the best thing needed for us."

She knew that Caroline dropped the conversation because she didn't want to make her angry. Since that day with Elena, Bonnie had calmed down tremendously. She didn't wish anything bad for her, but they did need space, and since they did share the same room, it was just better if they continued to ignore each other.

"Still haven't heard from Damon?" Caroline asked, as she pulled up to a stop light.

It was safe to say that she got her answer when the stop light flickered between red, yellow, and green at an alarmingly rapid rate.

Bonnie noticed Caroline's eyes widen as she looked at her.

"Well, I know who not to bring up tonight."

Bonnie leaned her head back against the seat, as Caroline continued driving. "I'm proud of Damon, I really am, but to go from talking every single day to not even so much as a text message just saying hello, is really frustrating. He doesn't even respond to me, and it's annoying. He's ignoring me Caroline, and I don't know why."

"I tried getting it out of Stefan, but he wouldn't tell me anything."

"Well whatever it is, I'm done." She said, finally making the decision. "Since he's obviously not in any trouble, or hurt or dead…well, dead dead, then I'm officially done. I'm tired of Damon being hot one minute and cold the next. He specifically told me that after we decided to just be friends that it wasn't going to be awkward, that him leaving wouldn't mess up our friendship and look what happens?" It was safe to say that she was getting mad all over again.

"Guys are so stupid sometimes. Especially, century old vampires who are more than likely in love with you and don't really know how to get their emotions in check."

"Or provide as much as a friendship." Bonnie began, "I mean it's really not that hard to be my friend."

"You know, okay yes, my reasoning for being mad at Stefan awhile ago was selfish, but I just didn't want to be shut out of his life, is that so bad?"

"I mean he acts like I told him that he was worthless, and that I don't care about him. I care about him. I really do, but now it's easy to see how quick it is for him to forget about me."

"And even though Stefan is picking up my calls, it's only if I call him constantly, like I'm some psycho or something. He's turning me into a psycho."

"You know next time I see Damon I'm going to make his brain bleed for making me worried about him every single day."

Bonnie and Caroline expressed their feelings up until Caroline parked right in front of Bonnie's dad's house.

"So tonight, we are not going to bring up Stefan and Damon." Caroline demanded, as they both got out of the car. "You are going to have fun and we are going to bring in your birthday the right way. The only thing you should be concerned about is how many shots it's going to take before you can't walk straight anymore."

Caroline was right. It was time for Bonnie to truly let loose. She was going to enjoy her birthday like the queen she was, and not let anything worry her.

It was a little after 11:00 that night when Bonnie and Caroline finally left the house. It took Caroline longer to get ready, so Bonnie made the time go by faster by performing a few spells in her grimoire. It was just simple spells like levitating some items in her living room or the simple act of telekinesis. She had went a couple weeks barely using any magic, because she always pictured how upset Damon looked that day when he found her pushing herself too hard. But, Damon wasn't here, and for all she knew he wasn't coming back. Plus, she was a grown ass woman who knew her limits, so she could do whatever the hell she wanted.

Bonnie was confused when Caroline pulled up to the New Mystic Grille.

"What are we doing here?"

"Picking up Matt. The grand opening is next week, so he wanted to make sure some things were in order before he came out with us tonight."

When Caroline got out of the car, Bonnie saw her eyes connect with hers. "You're going to come in here with me right? It's dark."

She gave her a look. "Are you kidding me? You're a vampire."

"That means absolutely nothing. I can still be afraid of the dark."

Bonnie just shook her head and got out of the car.

When they both walked in, the lights flicked on, and there were people standing before them.

"Happy Birthday!"

There were a lot of people in attendance. A few close friends, people Bonnie had known from high school, and a few people she had met at Whitmore. Caroline had definitely surprised her, and the decorations were out of this world beautiful. The place was decorated in purples and blues, and reds; like she was in some velvet palace. It was all just so well put together, and the owner should really consider keeping it like this.

She gave Caroline a hug, "Care, when did you have the time to do all of this?"

"You know me. When it comes to things like this, I make time. Especially for your birthday!"

Matt walked up to her and handed them both a shot glass. He gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Happy Birthday, Bons."

"Thanks, Matt." She hugged him, and looked at the red shot in her hand.

"What's this?"

"There are a total of seven shots you will be taking tonight that go in the same order as the rainbow." Caroline answered.

"They will be your signature drink and will go on the alcohol menu for the Grille." Matt added.

Bonnie's eyes widened with an excited smile. Her friends seriously named drinks after her.

"And besides those drinks, you have other alcoholic drinks you are going to take tonight as well." Caroline smiled.

Yep, she was probably not going to remember anything in the morning.

About forty five minutes in and already on letter Y of the rainbow, and at least two other mixed drinks consumed, Bonnie couldn't help but giggle uncontrollably and feel delighted by the drink names that her friends thought of to describe her. R was Radiant Wicca, O was Omniscient Queen, and Y was Yummy Spice. The last one made her laugh out extremely loud, because she had somewhat of an obsession with the spice girls when she was younger.

Her friends were definitely making her night special.

After dancing with Tyler through a couple songs, Bonnie had to take a seat for a moment. She needed to slow down before she passed out, because it wasn't even midnight yet to bring in her birthday.

The moment she sat down, she watched as Elena and Jeremy entered the building. She had to admit she was surprised to see them here, but she wasn't going to let the unreadable expressions on their face ruin her night. She hadn't talked to Jeremy since Christmas and though he tried calling her once after that, she declined to answer.

Caroline must have noticed as well, because she appeared in front of Bonnie so quickly that she didn't know if it was because she had used her vampire speed or that she was just that intoxicated.

She handed her a green shot. "This one's called Goddess. I don't really think I need to explain the meaning."

Bonnie smiled, and her heart did this beat that caused tears to form in her eyes. Sometimes she could be an emotional drunk, but she was just overwhelmed at how many people were here for her and how great everything was.

She took the shot, and though it was insanely good, she could definitely taste how strong it was.

Before she could thank her best friend, she noticed a really cute guy behind her. Caroline must have known where her eyes drifted off too, because her eyes widened.

"Oops, I almost forgot." She moved out of the way. "Bonnie this is Charles. He's a little shy, but he's just so hypnotized by your beauty that he needed a little extra nudge. He wants to dance."

The shocked expression on Bonnie's face at Caroline's bluntness was not missed by either of them. But, thanks to her intoxicated state, making her a little more confident than usual, she grabbed his hand and led him out on the dance floor.

"I bet you think I'm pretty lame for not coming up here myself. I was going too eventually, but your friend can be pretty demanding."

"That's Caroline for you." She smiled as he twirled her around and brought her to him. For just a quick moment his moves reminded her of she and Damon at the decades dance one year, but she immediately pushed that memory aside.

It was ten seconds to her birthday and Caroline decided to treat it like a New Years Eve celebration and have everyone count down. As soon as it hit midnight, everyone screamed Happy Birthday again and well wishes towards her.

And as soon as that happened, Charles dipped her low and gave her a light kiss on the lips. For a moment her eyes almost enlarged out of their socket. She would definitely blame it on the alcohol in her system as her tongue began to dance with his. It probably only lasted ten seconds, before he lifted her back up, and she caught her balance.

It was in that moment, that she almost wanted him to dip her again, because her eyes flew to the entrance to see Damon and Stefan standing at the. And Damon literally looked like he could kill someone right now as he stared at her.

Sobriety was beginning to seep its way through her bloodstream, and that's not what she wanted. Especially on her birthday…. especially right now.

"Are you alright?"

She nodded as her eyes glanced back to Damon. "I just need some water and another drink."

She spotted Caroline and they both gave each other a knowing look. "Care, I think I need the rest of my rainbow shots…"

"Coming right up." She said, and grabbed the last three double shots from the bar. "The blue is Beautiful Bons, the I is INticing Icing, and the V is Vibrant Temptress."

Bonnie took all three, not even stopping to enjoy the memory behind the icing shot and how it was named after a time when they were kids and Tyler smashed cake in her face, causing an all around cake war.

When Damon walked inside The New Mystic Grille for Bonnie's birthday, he wasn't expecting to see some douche bag with his tongue down her throat. It wouldn't be in his nature if he didn't see red in that moment. It caught him so off guard that he couldn't really take in the fact that she looked dangerously good in a white dress that was making every guy in here turn heads. She was a present day siren and she didn't even realize how enticing she was. He couldn't even enjoy any of that, because the guy was literally all over her.

"I told you so."

When his brother spoke those words, he immediately rolled his eyes. Stefan told Damon several times that by ignoring Bonnie for the remainder of his trip; she wasn't going to just welcome him back with open arms. And somewhere in his mind, he knew that. At first when he missed her phone calls and text messages, it wasn't intentional that he didn't get a chance to get back with her, but as time went by, it ended up being all on purpose. He didn't mean for it to be that way, because he missed her terribly. He even went as far as having Ms. Cuddles in bed with him every night, and taking him along in a back pack every time he and Stefan went out. He had to constantly ignore his brother's jokes and weird looks because of it. He even kept her picture close everywhere he went, so him ignoring her wasn't because he didn't miss her. It was the complete opposite. It was because he felt like he missed her too much.

There were even times when he wanted to call and tell her that he couldn't be her friend, but that was something he could never technically do, because if those words escaped his lips he would throw out a 'just kidding' and keep it moving. And now seeing her here tonight, his idea of coming back without any romantic feelings for her was obviously thrown out of the window.

It was Stefan who essentially figured out what his problem had been concerning Bonnie. It was Stefan who figured out why images of her getting hurt in the prison world and in that car accident replayed in his mind constantly. And because of what he figured out, made him shy away from her. Yes, it was unlike him, but his reasons were now pretty valid.

"Just because you're having some PTSD moment from the past, doesn't mean you should ignore Bonnie."

He knew that Stefan was right, but Damon and his logic was pretty ridiculous at times.

The crowd singing Happy Birthday pulled him out of his thoughts, as he watched Matt carry out a cake from the back and take it over to Bonnie at the bar.

He heard Caroline tell her to make a wish, and he watched as Bonnie's eyes found his for just a quick second before she blew out her candles.

"Welcome back." His attention landed on Elena as she walked up and greeted them.

He looked at her, and noticed that she was putting on a brave face and that there was still some hurt in her eyes.

"How's it going?" He asked, yet his eyes went back over to Bonnie.

"That's Charles." Elena told him, even though he didn't ask. "Caroline introduced them and Bonnie seems to really like him."

Damon ignored her and listened into their conversation.

"I hope that kiss wasn't too forward."

"It was definitely unexpected, but it wasn't bad."

The waste of space then proceeded to whisper something in her ear that he couldn't really hear over the music, and it caused Bonnie to giggle. He didn't say anything to Stefan and Elena as he stalked over and stood right in between them. He stared at the guy and told him to get lost and forget he ever met her.

Granted, he had to deal with a glare that he was surprised didn't come with her little aneurysms, and a smack right in the face. If she had used her magic, her hand connecting with his face would have probably sent him flying over to the other side of the room.

"What the hell is your problem?!"

"Happy Birthday." Maybe that wasn't exactly what he should have said, but it was all he could necessarily think of. He couldn't stop his eyes from staring her up and down, and though she was pissed at him, just being around her right now was making him act like some silly human teenage male who couldn't get his shit together.

She scoffed, and continued to stare at him as if the near sight of him sickened her.

Before any other words could be said between them, Caroline appeared next to Bonnie. "Hey Bons, will you come with me to the restroom, I need help with something.

Bonnie rolled her eyes at Damon and then walked away with Caroline.

"Was that really necessary?" Stefan asked walking up. "You haven't even been back twenty minutes and you're already messing up."

"What? She would have regretted anything she would have done with that loser. This way it was easier to blow him off. I was doing her a favor." He really didn't see anything wrong with what he'd done.

"No, this was you showing up unexpectedly and trying to be in control."

He rolled his eyes again at Stefan. "Don't you have some furry woodland creature to go snack on?"

Damon's ears then picked up the conversation between Bonnie and Caroline in the bathroom.

"Why is he here?" Bonnie asked, leaning against the door. The last three shots were definitely hitting her, even if she had thought she was sobering up.

"I don't know Bons. I didn't know they were coming back today, but it's obvious he wanted to be here for your birthday."

"After pretty much ignoring me? He can go shove it." She slurred a bit, trying to regain her balance. "I'm going back out there and taking all seven of my shots at once and then I am done!"

She knew the moment her facial features changed, because Caroline was giving her a peculiar look.

"Right after I throw up." She ran into the stall, and let out the contents she consumed today enter the toilet.

Bonnie's eyes opened slowly, as she tried to focus on her surroundings. She glanced next to her and saw Damon pulling up to her house.

Before she could say anything, Damon's voice filled her ears.

"You passed out as soon as we got you outside to get some fresh air from upchucking everywhere, so I brought you home."

She felt a little dizzy, but made a mental note to curse Caroline out for leaving her alone with Damon.

"Where's Caroline?"

"She and Stefan are cleaning up the party."

They sat in the car for a while in silence, as Bonnie waited for her world to stop spinning.

"Bonnie, I'm…"

"Save it." And then she opened the door and got out of the car. She leaned against it for a moment before she straightened herself up and struggled to her front door.

As she began to fumble with her keys to get to the right one, Damon appeared right behind her, took her keys, and opened the door letting them both inside.

She yanked her keys out of his grasp, as she walked inside. She meant to drop her purse on the chair next to the door, but instead, it hit the ground.

A smirk formed on his face as he picked up her belongings and laid them on the chair, after locking her door.

He watched as she walked towards the stairs.

"You're going to have to talk to me sometime."

She turned to him and though she was still inebriated, she held the defiance he knew so well.

"Oh, you want to talk now? Damon Salvatore actually wants to talk. You know what? I'm done with you." She walked away, and he stood there waiting because she turned around like he knew she would, and continued. "You know I get why you left, and that's fine. It's your life and I like how you are doing things for yourself, but you left, and then you stopped calling, you didn't answer my calls, my texts. I had to hear from Caroline who had to get in touch with Stefan just to make sure you were okay. You can't just come back on my birthday and want to talk."

She turned to walk away again, but then turned right back around and stood in front of him. He was also expecting that.

"Also, thanks for bringing me home, but you can leave and don't come back."

As she walked upstairs this time, he yelled after her, "I missed you too."

"Screw you!" She yelled, even though his declaration made her hesitate for a moment, slamming the door to her room shut.

When Bonnie woke up the next day, she was surprised that her head didn't feel like hammers had been attacking her skull. Her memory was a little fuzzy from last night, and she could only remember bits and pieces. But she could definitely remember the dream she just woke up from, that consisted of Damon using his tongue on every inch of her body. It was literally replaying in her mind like she was at the movie theater.

He had used his tongue between her thighs like he was trying to open a very difficult lock to a bank safe. He took his time, he was precise, and he made her orgasm like it would be the last time she would ever experience it. The dream she had wasn't about two people coming together in a slow sensual moment, no, in her dream Damon was fucking her. He was thrusting inside of her like he would die if he slowed down or stopped. It was like they were both starved for each other that it was the only way to release all that pent up frustration.

She replayed it in her mind how he turned her over and took her from behind, and she knew that her panties were beginning to moisten in her reality. In the dream, she allowed Damon to use his fangs to bite her. In several places he had nibbled on her flesh and the pleasure from it all was so intense, she almost forgot to breathe. She could even remember how he flipped her back over and came inside of her, latching onto her neck, and giving her several orgasm. It got to a point where she didn't know if she would survive it all.

She was definitely glad that Kai didn't enter the dream like he did every other night, because if he would have interrupted that moment, she would have went straight to Alaric's and killed him off of default. Merge be damned.

Taking a few deep breaths, Bonnie willed her mind to concentrate on anything else. Thank the heavens that a delicious smell drifted to her nose at the exact time. She put on a hoodie and slowly made her way downstairs. She was still feeling sluggish from last night, but her stomach growling trumped anything else.

When she entered the kitchen, she found Damon cooking breakfast. Her eyes traced over his back, and for a moment she imagined herself going to him, dropping the spatula in his hands and slamming him against the refrigerator. It was safe to say that she was still feeling the effects of the sex dream.

"Morning." He said, before turning around and looking at her.

She watched as his lips curved up into a smile, and she fought the urge to run over and kiss him. She definitely needed a glass of water… and a cold shower.

"Still mad at me?"

His question would have infuriated her more if it wasn't for the way his teeth nipping her thighs, entered her mind.

She didn't answer him as she grabbed a bottle of water out of the fridge.

"I guess I got my answer." He flipped a pancake that fell on the floor. She was actually a bit stunned because he had become really good at flipping pancakes.

Bonnie was about to speak, but his next words stopped her.

"I'm making a mess of breakfast, so I decided to order from that little diner in town that you told me you like."

Bonnie's eyes connected with his, and stood there in a little bit of shock. She didn't even notice the bags on the counter, and the plates full of her favorite foods from the little diner her and her dad would go to on her birthday for breakfast.

"I know you told me you usually go eat in the diner, but I figured after your night last night you'd want to stay in. Also, Caroline suggested we have lunch here. And I'm no Grams, but I think I can make a dinner close to what she made you in the past. I just need you to pick something."

Tears almost appeared in her eyes, at the fact that Damon was doing the tradition she use to do with her family. She almost forgot that she told him that in the prison world.

"Now of course it's not the same, but I figured that it could be close." He said. "Now, take a seat." He used his vampire speed to go to the table and pull out her chair.

She hesitated for a moment, but ended up sitting down, as Damon sat across from her. It was almost like it was in 1994, but this time she was feeling an assortment of different emotions; from anger to sadness, to happiness, and to just utter confusion.

They sat in silence as they ate, and then Damon caused Bonnie to look at him as he held Miss Cuddles in front of his face and changed his voice.

"Bonnie, please talk to Damon. He's missed you soooo much while he was away and he thought about you every night."

Bonnie took a moment before she looked at Ms. Cuddles. "Then why didn't he call me? Why did he choose to ignore me when I continuously reached out to him?"

"Because he was trying not to miss you soooo much. He had a lot of shit to deal with, but he never stopped missing you. He missed his best friend. Please talk to him."

"Well you tell Damon that recreating a family tradition isn't going to make me forget about him leaving and ignoring me. That he made me think he didn't want anything to do with me anymore."

It was official; she and Damon had lost their mind by communicating through a stuffed teddy bear.

Damon put the bear to the side and stared at her. "You know that would never happen."

Bonnie cleared her throat and finished eating her food, because she couldn't keep looking at him without wanting to throw something and bawl.

"The food was great." She stood up. "I appreciate all of this, but I think you should leave."

He was behind her in an instant, and grabbed her arms gently before she proceeded to walk away. It caused her to turn around, but she moved out of his grasp as if his hands had scorched her skin. She didn't want to touch him, for one, because she felt like she was about to break down and for two, her sex dream was still emerging through the back of her mind.

"Bonnie…"

She turned back to him quickly and though the look she was trying to remain strong, he could tell that she wanted to cry.

"Did your trip help you?"

"What?" He was caught a little off guard, because he wasn't expecting that question.

"Did your trip help you? Do you feel better?"

"I guess…." He paused.

"I missed you." She blurted out. "I missed you a lot. And when you didn't call or text me or answer any of my calls, I got worried and I was scared something had happened to you. I was so fidgety that I couldn't even do a simple locater spell. And you knew that I was upset because I know Caroline told Stefan who told you." A few tears formed in her eyes and she hated herself for showing how upset she was too him. She wanted to blame it on the alcohol for the tears, because there was still a little in her system, but she knew that wasn't it. "And I had every intention to ignore you when you came back and forget this friendship and….." She paused, and cleared her throat. "But you're standing here right now in front of me, and I just…. I just want you to hug me. I want you to hold me so I can make sure you're okay… that you didn't abandon me… that you're not going to leave me."

Bonnie Bennett knew that she sound unlike herself; she knew she sounded needy and maybe even clingy, but for once didn't she have a right to be? Didn't she have a right to just be emotional for once, to show how she was feeling? She may have been part of the supernatural, but damnit, she was still human.

He wrapped her in his arms, and at that moment, he realized just how much he had missed her. That everyday being away from her and missing her wasn't the same as being right here with her. She probably thought he was holding her up and providing her strength and comfort, but she was actually supporting him more than she would ever know.

They stayed that way for a moment; her head resting on his chest, his head resting on her forehead.

"Your Ms. Cuddles impersonation is awful by the way." Bonnie broke the silence that had fallen among them as she stepped out of his embrace.

"I'm sure it's better than yours." He wiped a few stray tears that had fallen from her eyes. "So, are we still friends?"

Damon didn't expect Bonnie to zap him in the chest with her magic. It felt like an electricity bolt through his heart.

"Ow!" He yelled, grabbing onto his chest.

"Next time you pull some shit like that and worry me, I'll put you to sleep for a year." She smirked and then walked into the living room. "Plus, I should knock your ass out now for what you did to Charles at the club.

He rubbed his chest and then followed her.

"You better be glad it's your birthday, because next time I'll put you over my knee."

Of course he would turn her trying to be angry into something dirty.

"And that pathetic waste of space only wanted to get in your pants anyway. I was doing you a favor and you should thank me for not killing him."

She rolled her eyes. She had to admit, even though Damon could be infuriating at times, especially when she was trying to be serious; she certainly missed all of it at this moment.

She then noticed the blanket and pillows laid out on one of the couches.

"You slept here last night?"

"Duh. I wasn't going to leave you, and I thought sleeping in your bed would have been a death wish."

He would be half right, because after that dream she had, she probably would have surprised him by jumping on top of him and begging him to take every inch of her.

As she began tidying up a bit, it wouldn't be Damon if he didn't take a quick peek at her ass when she bent over. He had a quick image flash through his mind of him holding her up against the nearest wall and taking her repeatedly, but as soon as it came, he shook the impure thoughts away.

Well, he tried. This friendship thing was going to be the end of him. Of course he was going to respect her wishes, but it wasn't going to be easy.

He then grabbed her hand and led her to the front door. "It's your birthday; you shouldn't have to lift a finger today. And I want to show you something."

"Damon, it's freezing outside." But she followed him anyway.

When he opened the door and they both stepped out on the porch, her breath caught in her throat as she looked out in front of her.

"Damon, you did not buy me a car!"

He watched how she was trying her best to hide back the sheer and utter joy that consumed her, with logic and reasoning, as she stared at the white Prius with a big red bow on top of it.

"Damon, I can't accept this."

He figured she would say that, so he had already developed a comeback.

"Too bad, the car is already paid for and in your name. You are the owner, so if you want to get rid of it, then you have to do it."

She stared back and forth between him and the car. He could practically taste the level of her excitement rush through her blood.

"Happy Birthday, Bennett."

He then handed her the keys, and she took them, and practically jumped in his arms, repeating thank you like a broken record. Kissing his cheek may have not been the best thing for her to do, with the way he was feeling right now, but he held it together.

He watched as she bolted to the car and the genuine ecstatic look spread across her face as she sat in the front seat. Even though he knew that Bonnie wasn't big on materialistic things, he was glad he could make her smile with this.

The horn honking caught his attention, and he looked at her.

"Get in; let's take it for a test drive."

Bonnie Bennett was definitely going to be the death of him, he thought as he got in the car.

After they ate dinner, a recipe he got from Grams, they sat on opposite sides of the couch, as they ate on peach cobbler and ice cream.

"So are you finally ready to tell me about your trip?" She had asked him several times today and he kept informing her that later he would.

"Aren't you ready for your birthday massage?"

"As tempting as that sounds, I'll pass." She wasn't going to explain her reasoning as to why that wouldn't be such a good idea.

"Really, because I'm really good with my hands."

She almost choked on her cobbler, causing him to smirk, and her to throw a pillow at his face.

They sat in silence for a moment, and as Bonnie was about to turn on the television, Damon's voice stopped her.

"Stefan helped me realize some things. Why I constantly kept picturing you getting hurt in my head. Why it was hard for me to be away from you. Why I constantly worried about you? Why I still do."

She remained quiet as his eyes found hers.

"It had a lot to do with my mother."

Bonnie remembered Damon telling her about his mother when they were stuck in the other dimension, and that she died from an illness, but because it was such a sore subject, and he always quickly changed the subject, she didn't pry. She knew Damon, and he wasn't that keen on opening up to others. She would always respect his privacy, so when he was ready to talk about something then he would, and she would be there to listen.

"My mother died when Stefan and I were young. She meant everything to me. She was always in my corner when Giuseppe was hard on me. She always believed in me when no one else would. She supported me when I found interest in playing the violin, and Giuseppe almost had a heart attack from it." He smiled a little at the memory, but then it faltered. "And then she got sick, and I was with her right before Giuseppe sent her away. I hated him after that. I know you're never supposed to hate a parent, but I despised him. It was no secret that Stefan was his favorite, but Stefan didn't even really get to know mother like I did, because Giuseppe shielded him away. He didn't want Stefan to end up like me; what he called a mama's boy. So, when she got really sick, I did everything I could at first to make her comfortable. I did everything I could, but at the end of the day I couldn't save her.

So, in a way you remind me of her. Strong, intelligent, would do anything for just about anyone, and you accept me. You didn't make excuses for me, you never have. So, when you saved me, when you were stuck there. It just did something to me. Seeing you in that accident, it just… I don't know… it messed me up."

She didn't remember moving beside him, but her fingers did intertwine with his, as she watched his tense features relax a little.

"I should have saved you. You always save everyone and expect nothing in return and it's not fair."

"I'm superwoman, I don't need saving." She tried making light of the situation, but it didn't quite work.

"Everyone needs saving, and that's why I always want to be there for you. Why you deserve someone to be there for you."

He pulled her to him, and held onto her tight enough to keep her to him, but not enough to hurt her.

"Your mother sounds like an amazing woman."

"She was. She would have loved you."

That warmed her heart.

"So, you play the violin?"

"I did when I was human, and maybe a few times during my undead life. Nothing recent."

Damon opening up to her like that made her feel an array of emotions deep within her. No matter how many times they disagreed, no matter how many times they bickered, or shut each other out, at the end of the day, they both knew that they always come back to each other.

"Damon?" She looked up at him. "I'm glad you're back."

And when his eyes looked intently into hers, he placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

"Me too."

In that moment, they both knew that the bond they had with one another exceeded beyond any of their expectations.

A/N: Thank you all so much for reading! And I hope you enjoyed this chapter =)

Like I mentioned earlier, I really enjoyed writing this chapter, just to go into different emotions for Bonnie. We rarely get to see anything like that on the show. They'll have her be the strong one and only have a break down here or there. I think she's entitled to do and feel whatever she wants. So, I wanted her to be selfish in here for a bit, I wanted her to have conflicting emotions. I wanted her to be human, because that's what she is.

I enjoyed naming the specialty shots for Bonnie's birthday; I thought it was fun with her friends and what she deserved, even if Damon interrupted.

I know I am somewhat following this season, but like I said that last episode just really upset me, and if I stray away from the season, I'll still add specific scenes, if they fit.

And just one more thing I wanted to talk about before this A/N turns into a whole other chapter, it's obvious that Bonnie & Damon see each other past friendship, but we see now that other than Bonnie trying to find herself before jumping into another relationship, she's also scared of putting herself out there and being left; of getting close to someone and then having them go away. So, all of that will be discussed between the duo.

So, hopefully you all liked this chapter, and please review to let me know what you think. Thanks again =)
