Chapter Eight
In Ta-Koro, Tahu tries to keep himself busy by doing some lava surfing that he didn't do for a long time, but that didn't work very ofter. He even tried taking a walk around the village, and checking if there was any sign of danger. But at last everything he tried to do ended up the same as before, and that was the fact that he misses his little sister. You see every time he comes home, he finds the hut empty, and remembers that Aiko was out searching for those spear spirits that Turaga Vakama had told him about. Speaking of which, were did his Turaga even learned something like that, and why wasn't he and the other Toa's know of such thing? 'Something is up' Tahu thought to himself, 'and I want to know what it is I just agreed to.'
So off he went to his Turaga's hut to get to the bottom of what ever it was he had agreed to do, and when he got there he took notice of two voices. One he recognized as his Turaga, but the other one he doesn't recognized at all. Tahu wanted to barged in there, and see who that other voice belonged too. But instead he over heard them talking about Aiko, and decided to listen in on the conversation.

Mean while just before Tahu came near Turaga Vakama's hut.
Turaga Vakama was busy doing something, when he suddenly felt a chill right down his spines, and when he turned around, he saw the one being he did not want to see. "Obayana" Turaga Vakama said under neath his breath.
"Well, hello to you too Turaga" Obayana said almost mockingling.
"W-what are you doing here?" Turaga Vakama ask.
"I've came to give you my report on… my daughter" Obayana replayed looking around the hut, "you did well sending her out of this village wise one, and your lucky too. Cause if you didn't send her away… I would of cause so much destruction in this Koro of yours."
Vakama knew the exact person he was talking about, and he wished the poor child to keep her distance from him. "If I may ask" Turaga Vakama began, "if the child succeeds in her task… what do you plan on doing to her?"
"Simple" Obayana said, "I'm going to take her with me back to mine and my brethren's homeland, and there she shall learn to be a fearless spear spirit ruler."
"So you plan on taking her out of Mata-Nui completely" Turaga Vakama said very shocked at the new.
"Of course I plan to" Obayana said in a serious voice, "she is my blood line after all."
If words could describe on how the Turaga feels right now, well, that would be a lot of words. "Tell me" Vakama started to say, "Does any of your brethren know what you had done?"
The ruby spear spirit looked at the elder of fire, with fiery eyes before saying anything. "No" Obayana replayed, "but even if they do, they know not to question my mythes!"
"What if the child doesn't want to go back with you?" Vakama asked.
"She will once she knows that her daddy is alive, and well" Obayana began, "but if she refuses to come home with me… well, we'll see were that will go then now won't we… But I've been here far too long, and I really got to get back
to my kingdom… Bye for now."
With that the red spear spirit disappeared, and was the last the fire Turaga would see him (he hope). Vakama leaned on his staff with a deep sigh of regret, and was lost at thought for a while. Well, that is, until someone slam open his door, and when he look to see who it was… his fears had once again awaken to a whole new level.
Tahu stood at the door way of his Turaga's hut, and couldn't believed what he had heard. "How long" Tahu said in a low growl, "have you kept this secret from me… from all of us!"
Once again the wise fire Turaga gave a deep sigh, and went over to a table with two chairs. "Ever since after you brought the child to me" Turaga Vakama replayed as he sat down on one of the chair.
"What more do you know about that necklace?" Tahu asked still a bit angry at his Turaga.
"All I told you about the necklace was too" Vakama began, "but it will only work for the one who is born of the royal Toa… or what he is better known as 'The Fire King'."
While Turaga Vakama explains to, Tahu the truth behind, Aiko's past. We now go back down into the great earth village of Onu-Koro, and back to our unaware human/Toa child.
When Aiko woke up, the first thing she did was… sneaking out of the hut that she is sharing with the Turaga's, and go out exploring around the village. As the human girl walked, she couldn't help but wonder what the black spear spirit meant when he said that 'someone in your life who had started having feeling for you.'
'What does that means' Aiko wonder to herself.
Just as she continued to walk around the village, thinking to herself. All of a sudden, Aiko was lifted into the sir, and into the arms of a green… Toa! "Lewa!" Aiko happily as she hugged the Toa of air.
"Well hello-hi to you too little one" Lewa said embracing the human child he didn't see in a long time, "my have you grown since I last saw you… so where is that fire-spitter brother of yours, or are you a run-away?"
"Actully, Tahu is letting me go on an adventure to become a Toa-hero like you guys" Aiko said very happily.
"Oh, is he now" Lewa said with a sly look on his face.
"Yup, and so far I already gotten two spear spirits" Aiko held up the necklace to show two light shining on the it.
"Spirit-spear you say" Lewa said, as he shifted Aiko to one arm, and examine the necklace with his free hand. "I do believe I've see-saw a emerald flying-swift ball around in my Koro… maybe that is the spirit-spear your looking for."
"Really" Aiko said excitedly, "can you take me to your Koro please."
"I see your up bright and early, Aiko" said a gruff voice.
"Hello-hi Onua-Brother" Lewa said smiling at the approaching Toa of earth.
"Hello Lewa, how are things in Le-Koro?"
"Very good-nice."
"That's good" Onua smiled, and turned his attention back to the human teen, "so Aiko, I couldn't help over hearing you wanting to go to Le-Koro, to find a spear spirit."
"Yes" Aiko said rather happily.
"I think it would be wise if you wait till Takanuva…"
Onua could not finish his sentence, as a large fire ball came out of no where, and nearly attacked the two Toa and human girl. "What in Mata-Nui was that?" Lewa asked, setting Aiko down, and holding her close.
"I don't know" Onua replayed, now in a battle ready mode, "but we'll soon find out."
Once when the smoke started to settle down. A small figure could be seen coming towards them, and once when the small being was close enough. It showed a young teenage boy, looks to be about (or close to) Aiko's age, has flaming hair, fiery eyes, and has the ability to throw fire. "So we finally meet at last" the teenaged boy said starting at Aiko, "now fight me!"
This seems to not only confused Aiko, but also the two Toa's as well. But seeing this as a threat, and wanting to make sure Aiko would be safe. Onua stepped in front of Lewa and Aiko, and was once again in battle mode. "Lewa, get Aiko out of here" Onua ordered.
"No" the teenaged boy said, "she and I must fight! For I 'The Prince of Fire' will…"
The boy never got to finish what he was going to say, as the ground beneath him starts clasping on him. "The kid can talk a lot can't he" Onua said mostly to himself.
"Come now Aiko" Lewa said to the human girl, "we will quick-leave while we still can."
Aiko nod her head in agreement, and ran out of Onu-Koro with the Toa of Air. As the two were running, Aiko couldn't help but wonder why that boy wanted to fight against her? And why did that boy looked like her? So many things she doesn't understand, but she pushed that aside, and kept on running.
It took a hour or so to find the right cave that lead to Le-Koro, but both Toa and human girl made it out, and now were making there way to Le-Koro… by wind-Flying. "Hold tight Aiko" Lewa told her, as Aiko hopped onto his back, and once he was sure she had a good grip, he took off into the sky towards the tree-tops of Le-Koro.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Deep in the Le-Wahi, a green wise like being was meditating, until he felt a strange present that was heading to Le-Koro. He knew that one he recognized as the Toa of air, but the one he was carrying on his back… was a human. "Ah, so that must mean my brother actually did" he said not moving from his spot, "it would be a shame not to help the little soul, and who know… she may turn out better then my hot head of a brother."
Without moving a inch, the green spear spirit stayed were hue was, and continued with his meditation. For he has a good feeling that his time with the girl was soon coming, and he was well prepared to give her a lesson she won't soon forget.
After escaping from another close call from a very strange situation, where once again Takanuva would have to travel all the way to Le-Koro (talk about a bad baby sitter XD). Anyways Lewa and Aiko, finally made it safely to Le-Koro so Aiko, can find the next spear spirit and get on with this new test. But first things first, showing the young human girl around Le-Koro, then party like there is no tomorrow. "Wow, so this is Le-Koro" Aiko said in a very exited voice.
"Yes, and a warm-heart welcome to the bright-singing village of Le-Koro" Lewa said proudly as he lead the young human teen, "here in Le-Koro, everything and bright, and colorful… Not like dark under ground like Onu-Koro, or the fiery Ta-Koro."
As Aiko fallowed the to of Air as he kept on talking about how great his village was. She couldn't help hearing a strange sweet song, that seemed to block out every other sound that was around her. It was so beautiful, and hypnotizing as she continued to listen to the sweet song. With out knowing it Aiko started to sing along to the song now hypnotized by the lovely melody.
(Here's the song she sang)
The river is flowing;
flowing and growing
The river is flowing;
Back to the sea
Mother carry me;
Your child I will always be
Mother carry me;
back to the sea
The song was quickly heard by Turaga Matua, who was taking a stroll around in the village, and quickly hurried over to where the song was being sung. Lewa had also took notice that the song was being sung, and quickly turned around to Aiko. What he saw was a blankness stare from the young human teenager, as the song was sung out of her mouth, and did what he could only do. He quickly covered Aiko's mouth, and hoped that no one else had heard the song as well. But to his dismay one person did hear the song, and by Mata-Nui he doesn't look too thrilled. "Toa what were you thought-think about bringing some with that a cursed song" Turaga Matua said in a low harsher whisper.
"She was fine-well a moment-while ago" Lewa replayed as he held tight to the human teenager, "I don't know what happened."
"Quickly bring her to my hut" the Turaga commanded, "and don't remove your hand from her mouth till you hurry into my hut."
Lewa nod his head, then lift the teenage girl up, and carried her to the turaga's hut.
Mean while far in the distance a not too happy emerald spear spirit stood, and watched his new victim carried away into the Turaga's hut. "I can under stand not wanting your matoran to fall pray to my song wise one" the emerald spear spirit said to himself, "but keeping that child from her destiny, and from me is a whole different story!"
The emerald spear spirit reached into his rob, and took out a smaller spirit spear. The smaller spear glowed a lilac color, and was floating for the emerald spear spirit. "What do you want from me?" it, or rather she said.
"Ah, my most beautiful and loyal spirit" he spoke to the smaller spear, "I need you to go fetch something."
"And what exactly is it? another animal soul?"
"Oh this one you'll love much better my sweet lilac."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back in the village, Turaga Matau, was finally able to stop Aiko from singing, and watched the young human girl sleep on his coat. "You should be safe-sound for now child" he said as he pat the girl's head.
"First the matoran's, and now Aiko" the Toa of Air said looking out side, "what is cause-troubling this village?"
"I don't know Toa Lewa" Turaga Matua said in a low voice, "but most of the Matoran are either too scared-worried to go out of Le-koro, or too fear-scared to leave their hut."
Lewa stood there very quit in deep thinking, and wondered if it would be wiser to take her to a different village. 'Well bad imprecation to home-village today' he thought to himself.
"Toa Lewa" Turaga Matua spoke up.
"Hmm" was the replay of the Toa of Air.
"I think it would be wise-smart to let her sleep-rest for a while longer."
Lewa nodded in agreement, and decided to go out, and patrol his village. Turaga Matua also went out side to tend to the village, and left the human girl to sleep. 'Mata-Nui please protect Aiko from the danger of her destiny' Matua prayed under his breath.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Still sounding asleep in the hut she was in, the two spear spirit decided to come on out, and protect the human girl. "Sugmuk, you don't think they were talking about Todi" asked the Sapphire spear spirit.
"Wouldn't surprise me one bit sister" said Sugmuk (AKA the black spear spirit) as he crossed his arms, "he always has a thing with souls… particularly human female souls."
The sapphire spirit looked down upon the human girl as she was sound asleep, and wonders why there king has done what he had done. 'Obayana, you fool' she thought to herself, 'how dare you to do such a curl thing to your own flash and bone.'
"Sister" Sugmuk spoke breaking the thought of the sapphire spirit, "No matter what will happen… we are not allow to interfere with her destiny."
"I know" the sapphire spirit replayed harshly, "but it is our duty to guid her on the right path."
"That maybe your duty sister, but not mine" Sugmuk said angrily.
With out the two spear spirits noticing, Aiko, had woken up by the sound of Sugmuk's voice, and couldn't help but feel a little hurt at what Sugmuk had said. "Sugmuk" the Sapphire spirit spoke but was interrupted by Sugmuk.
"Just leave it alone Maiara… there is nothing more to say about it."
With that Sugmuk disappeared into the night leaving Maiara behind. "Argh, your stubborn fool Sugmuk" Maiara said to herself.
"M-Maiara" spoke a soft voice.
Maiara turned towards the human girl, who was now up, and had a worry look on her face. "Please child" Maiara said in a soft tone then before, "you need your rest…"
"Why does Sugmuk hate me so much?" Aiko asked.
Maiara was taken back at, Aiko's words, and doesn't know what to tell her. "It's… not my place to tell child" Maiara replayed, "you would have to ask Sugmuk himself… if he's willing to talk to you that is."
Aiko stared at the spear spirit of wisdom for a bit, and decided to lay back down to go back to sleep. But then quickly got up and asked Maiara, "how did I end up on this bed?"
Maiara stared at the human girl at the sudden question, but never the less she replayed to her question with, "It was Todi way of trying to get you out of the village of Air…"
"What is he like?" Aiko asked.
"He's the spear spirit of souls…" Maiara replayed, "It would be best if you left this village right away child, and find the spear spirit of courage."
"Okay" Aiko said in a low voice.
"Aiko" Maiara spoke, "if you need any advice from either me or Sugmuk… just say our name, and we'll come rather we want to or not."
"Okay… thank you for the advice Maiara" Aiko said with a smile.
"Your welcome child" Maiara said with a small bow, before she disappeared.
Aiko sat there for what seems like forever, and was not really that tired. She thought what Maiara said, and a idea just formed into her head. She got out of bed, sneaked out of the hut she was, and was claiming up a tree. When she found a good spot she sat down, and closed her eyes. "Sugmuk, I need you" Aiko said in a low voice.
Aiko then open her eyes to see the spear spirit of strength sitting in front of her. "What do you want human" he said in his normal grumpy voice.
"I want to ask you something" Aiko said, "I wanted to know… why you don't like me?"
Sugmuk was going to answer, but as he stared the human girl in the eyes he's heart was soften by the human innocents. "Well… it's not you personally" Sugmuk said with a nerves voice, "It's just… there are some human kind that I just don't like, and personally I wish to never deal with them at all… not after the incident…"
"What happen?" Aiko asked.
"I… had fallen in love with a human female, and by golly she was a diamond in the ruff" Sugmuk said with a smile (OMG he's smiling everybody run XD).
"So where is she?" Aiko once again asked (Curiosity killed the cat)
"Todi, found out about my love for the human female, and decided to take her as his prize" Sugmuk said in a sadden tone, "after that i dared not to fall in love again… never again..."
Aiko just sat there not saying anything to offend the spear spirit of strength, but she couldn't help but feel a bit sadden herself, and her thoughts were brought back to her big brother Tahu. Ever since she was on this quest to become a toa, and how she enjoyed this freedom to explore the whole island. It never dawned on her how much she missed the comfort of her big brother, and wished she could hurry up to see him once again. 'I wonder if he's going to come after me?' Aiko thought to herself, 'then again it is just like Tahu to do so.'
Suddenly Aiko notice that Sugmuk was gone, and she was alone. So she decided to head back to the hut, that is until she saw something glowing in front of her, and she was about to touch it until she heard a familiar song that she just heard before.
The river is flowing;
flowing and growing
The river is flowing;
Back to the sea
Mother carry me;
Your child I will always be
Mother carry me;
back to the sea
Once again Aiko became hypnotize by the enchanting song, and began to sing along with the glowing thing in front of her. They sang that song over and over, until Aiko became sleepy, and soon her eyes closed shut. You might think that she would of fall by now, but unfortunately she was caught by Todi who was smiling at his new prize. "Well done my little lilac" he said to the glowing spirit, "now its time to head back to our little home, and soon you'll have a companion to play with forever."
So Todi carried her in a bride like style, and was heading towards the deepest part of the jungle to make the ritual of the souls. What he didn't know was that he was being watched by a brown Toa with a scar on his right eye. "Todi, Todi, Todi" the brown Toa said, "did you really think that you can just take any pretty girls you like, and keep them for yourself… I'm afraid you are mistaken my foolish brother." The brown Toa started to fallow Todi deep into the jungle, and in hope to save the poor human girl from being transformed into a spirit forever.
