Chapter 8: Oh Gosh, I feel Old.

Finally, After a whole hour passed and I had arrived at the island that Mihawk directed me to. Hitting the shore, I dragged the dinghy to the shore and made sure it wouldn't drift off at sea before sauntering into the village/town in search of a den den mushi to call my own back aboard the ship… that, and I also need a restaurant to satisfy my hunger from being at sea without food.

Apparently, luck must have been on my side after the confrontation with Mihawk as I entered a nice restaurant called 'Party's bar' and right there, after entering through the doors of the place, sitting on the bar in front of the bartender, was a den den mushi. So walking in and passing all the drunken occupants and their drinking activities, I arrived at the bar.

"Hello, how can I help you today?" The bartender asked, whom I noticed was a smiling woman with a bandana covering part of her short green hair who kept sending small glances further down the bar, where a red-haired man was acting rather loud with his singing and drinking.

"Ah yes, could you get me all that's on the menu?" I smiled politely before adding, "And also, can I use the den den mushi?"

"Of course!" She smiled before heading off to the back room, while gesturing to the snail. I was slightly surprised at the fact that she didn't question my order, but I waved it off and grinned as I grabbed the den den mushi, dialing my personal number and waited for someone to pick up.

"Who is it and what do you want?!" Fleur's voice spoke through the snail with a sour tone, giving a ugly expression on its face.

"Is that the way you speak to your captain?" I said haughtily, a ghost of a smile appearing on my face, "I'm shocked!" I teased and the facial expression of the snail changed immensely to one of shock and surprise.

"Aubrey? Is that you?" She gasped and suddenly, in the background, you could hear smashing noises and approaching footsteps.

"Yah, it's me." I answered in a chirpy voice, "How's it going?"

"Where the hell are you? And how the hell did you get there?!" She demanded, breaking off the small talk for important matters causing my joking manner to change to serious in no time at all.

"Are the others with you at the moment and can they hear me?" I asked with a patient tone and sat down on a stool and leaned against the bar, crossing my legs. The bartender returned from the back with a heap of food and placed it down on the bar in front of me, smiled and went off to talk to the drinking pirates.

"Loud and Clear." Casimir confirmed and I nodded before losing my serious manner to look sheepish, "It happened again! I got drunk and ended up in the middle of the ocean~" I laughed in humor before glowering, "Though, when I find that bastard again, I'll gut him like a fish."

Three separate crashes could be heard from the other side before the snail started yelling at me, I could hear Casimir's shouting, "You idiot! If you knew that was going to happen, why'd you drink then?!"

I didn't notice all the noise from around me went silent as they watched my call. I laughed again, "Well, you can't blame me, I suppose. You have to admit, it's better than to be stark naked…"

The den den mushi's face turned red in embarrassment before changing again to an tensed expression. "Where are you right now?" Leah asked calmly, though I could tell she wanted to laugh at me… like when we first met.

I blinked before looking to the closest person, and waved at them with a bright smile, "Hey hey mister, what island is this?"

"Fuchsia Island," The man replied, looking at me weirdly. I smiled in thanks before repeating it into the Den Den Mushi for Fleur.

"Oh great, leave it to you to be out there." Fleur muttered, causing me to blink in confusion. What did she mean by 'out there' exactly?

"Huh? What do you mean 'to be out there…' where are you now?" I voiced out my confusion and I heard grumbling from on the other side of the line – they seemed to be debating something behind my back. "Heeeey… you're not just going to abandon me, are you? Leah! You can't just leave me after I helped you escape!" I complained.

"Oh quiet down you. We were discussing where the closest island we can get to while waiting for you." She grumbled in return, obviously annoyed at this fact as well as the fact that I'm beaming like a beam of sunshine.

"Oh, well then!" I chirped enthusiastically, knowing that even though she sounded annoyed, she wasn't really.

"Do you think you can navigate your way over to Herald Island?" Fleur spoke into the snail with a weird look on her face – more of a grimace.

"What's with the face?" I asked teasingly, before adding, "Oh and uh, sure. I can try."

"Oh she's just annoyed at the fact that a noble there has a large obsession with her and even proposed to her in front of the whole tavern." Casimir spoke up nonchalantly before a loud thump could be heard on the other side, as well as shouting.

"You idiot! Shut up! You're not supposed to be saying anything about that!" Fleur could be heard shouting at Casimir.

"No need to hit me, you twit!" He hissed at her in return.

"Oh~! What's going on over there? Tell me, Tell me!" I called out excitedly when the receiver was picked up again, this time Leah was commentating on the fight.

"Fleur hits Casimir in the head with her fist, oh wait… it was deflected with his arm! He tackled her to the floor! Wow, she's pulling his hair out! Oohh.." She said and at the last part, the snail winced.

"I bet twenty on a tie!" I chirped brightly and then the others in the bar, who were all waiting intently suddenly joined in on the fun and added in their bets in too, me collecting the amounts and keeping score.

"Thirty on the chick!" A large man stated before he bit into his hunk of meat in his hands. He seemed like a nice guy. (A/N Everyone who is a One Piece fan should know who he is! [hint-hint: Shank's crew!])

"Ahahaha nah! That guy's got the power!" Another laughed jollily, causing me to join in with humor, "Sixty on the guy!"

"Yeah, I agree! Give me twenty on the man!" Another rambunctious man added, before taking a huge gulp of his alcohol. His hair was actually cool looking with how it's styled – dreadlocks. [another hint!]

"Nah man. That little lady seems feisty! I bet a whopping Hundred on the Girl!" The Red Haired man from earlier cheered out loud, causing some competitive spirit to overwhelm me as I stood up on the bar and grinned, pointing at the man.

"Let's make this interesting! I'll shout you and your men a large round of drinks if I win!" I grinned at him, confidently and he raised an eyebrow – never going to back down from a free round of drinks while the others cheered. After they settled, and the only noise coming from the den den mushi, red head spoke.

"And if you win?" He asked curious and amused at my behavior, "What do you get in return…?" He questioned.

"A lift to Herald Island." I grinned cheekily, poking my cheeks cutely. "Now, My word is on Casimir."

"And mine, your female friend." He laughed in return, holding up a drink before taking a gulp of it.

"Leah! Commentate~" I sang out to the Den den Mushi, who was sweat-dropping at the time. She sighed before continuing the commentating on the fight.

"Fleur's in the lead with Casimir on the ground being straddled and punched repetitively in the face–" The Red Haired Man grinned at me, while I kept a straight face, "–Oh wait, well this is new… Casimir managed to squirm himself enough to catch Fleur off guard and flipped her over his head like that famous wrestling move!"

I laughed as I heard this, but continued to listen, "Oh, she's retaliated… that and she's pissed. Ooh! Kicking him in the groin! Dirty move…" The men of the room groaned at the words only to fall silent at the sound of something breaking and the thump of someone hitting the ground. "Well that isn't good…"

"Huh? What happened? What broke?" I asked suspiciously, her tone of voice made me wary. If anything of mine happened to break… well, let's just say consequences will be made.

It was silent until Leah spoke again, this time quieter. "You won't like it… Remember that little crystal paperweight you had in your bag…? Yeah…" She trailed off awkwardly.

My face darkened substantially, causing those around me to back away a few steps and watch cautiously, "Is that so…? Well tell me, who won?"

"…They both passed out." She spoke up before adding, "We'll see you in a week. If you need anything call." She then hung up, causing the snail to close its eyes and remain motionless.

Silence was around the room, as if waiting for my reaction. I brightened considerably before cheering. "I win~!" I announced loudly to the bar and they looked at me with confusion.

"What do you mean?" Red Hair spoke up, looking at me with a puzzled expression and I leaned down, giving them a cheeky grin as I did.

"Well, my dear sir. I did make another bet…" I trailed off, causing some of their faces to widen in surprise and realization, "My first bet was that they would have a tie…" Their faces paled before they forked over the money, grumbling all the while. Once I collected the lot, I turned to the bartender, "Miss Bartender! Another round for my generous buddies here! My shout!"

Cheers went around and I was helped off the bar and onto a stool. The Red Haired man smiled and held out a hand for me to shake. I gave him a kind smile and accepted the gesture.

"Congratulations on your win, Miss. You're very generous." He commented politely and I laughed in return, before giving him a cheesy smile.

"You're telling me! Ah, but don't worry. I still expect the ride, ne?" I asked, receiving a nod, "I'm Aubrey."

"Shanks Le Roux." He replied though before anything else could be said, the door slammed open and a little boy ran in – though he seemed quite familiar to me and had some familiar features.

"SHANKS!" The little boy exclaimed, gaining the attention of the crew, Shanks and I. The little boy looked around the room in search for the man before his eyes locked on the red hair next to me as he ran over to us. "You jerk! Why'd you tie me up!"

Said man laughed, "Well, if it isn't Luffy." He teased the younger boy, rubbing the small boy's head affectionately.

"Answer me!" The little boy snapped and I raised an eyebrow with slight curiosity, watching as the two interacted closely.

"What else could I have done? You would have snuck onto my ship without me looking even though I've told you previous times that you're too small to be a pirate." Shanks explained, with a little teasing towards the end, causing me to laugh.

"Huh? Who're you?" The little boy asked, now realizing that I was there because of my laughter. I smiled at him warmly before answering him.

"Why don't you tell me your name first, ne?"

He beamed up at me and put his hands on his hips as he introduced himself, "I'm Monkey D. Luffy, future Pirate!"

"Oh? A pirate you say…" I mused at him, "Well, it's nice to meet you Monkey D. Luffy. Pray, tell me… Do you have any family here?"

"No." He answered before giving me a sour look, "But Gramps comes along sometimes, trying to make me become a marine." I inwardly cringed at the fact that my father comes here.

My smile widened, "Is that so? Well, what would you do if I told you I was your aunt?" I asked him and he blinked at me while Shanks gawked in surprise.

"What?! Aunt!" Shanks spluttered while I laughed happily. Luffy looked at me weirdly.

"What's an aunt?" He asked, tilting his head in confusion and some people in the bar fell over in exasperation to his cluelessness.

"An aunt is a woman who is related to you." I explained before adding, when I saw him look even more confused, "I'm your Gramps daughter."

"Oh! So, you're family?" He asked and I nodded.

"That's right."
