Chapter 9: Free Forever
(3rd person POV)
She smiled up at the man who had rescued her. He was incredibly handsome. Then she took a closer look.
"Ningirama?" she asked. He nodded. "Your Holiness," she whispered as she bowed.
Ningirama smiled at the girl. "Hello, Mashdaria. No need for that," he said as he helped her on her feet.
Mashdaria thanked Ningirama for helping her, and their love was planted.
(Arthur's POV)
I smirk as I watch my lab rat scream and writhe in agony. She cries and begs for it to stop, but I only make it worse.
"Please, Dr. Beeman, please. It doesn't work. Master already tried," she cries.
"MASTER?! WHO IS THIS 'MASTER' YOU DARE TO MENTION?!"
She squirms before writhing again. Why isn't this working? Her power is supposed to be leaving her body now!
Suddenly, my pet Miranda, walks into the room. "Master, they're back, and they're ready for attack," she declares. I growl under my breath.
"I'll be a moment, I have to go exterminate some pests." I leave the room and go prepare my weapon.
(Lily's POV)
"We have got to get you out of here, Lily. If Arthur finds out, he'll take you out with your family," Dr. Grey whispers. I smile slightly; most of my strength is gone.
"So it worked. Removing it worked," I manage to speak. Dr. Grey nods.
"Ever since, I've been getting stronger, and I'll soon be able to overcome Arthur totally. But, he must never k-" I look behind her as she turns around. Dr. Beeman heard the whole thing.
I feel the pressure on my chest as he hooks the machine up. Then he turns it on. The machine rips and tears as it painfully yanks my powers from me, but it's not getting my powers, just my strength. The tears form in my eyes.
"Please, Dr. Beeman. What do want?" I gasp. He leaves the room. Down the hall, I can hear the screams from Dr. Grey.
"Please, Arthur, please. NO!"
I burst into tears. This is all my fault. I wish I had never been born with this power, I wish Father had not adopted me, I wish I could die right here right now.
Out of no where, a force shakes the ground of the laboratory. The machine cuts off, and the pain settles. I can finally breathe. But, my breathing is stopped short when somebody grabs my hand and pulls me along somewhere. I see it's Dr. Grey.
"Let's get out of this prison once and for all. I have a feeling you have a family fighting for your release outside. Bye, Lily," she says as she hugs me.
"What about you?" I ask.
"I'll be fine, trust me. Now go." She shoos me out the doors and into the sunlight. Wow, I had forgotten what the sunlight feels like after two (2) months of captivity.
A furry hand grabs me from a cloud of smoke, and Mister Fiskerton guides me to the Saturday family's airship. Dr. Drew welcomes me with a warm hug, but Dr. Solomon's face makes me wish I was still Dr. Beeman's experiment, and that's saying a lot.
"Where is she?" is Dr. Solomon's first question to me. I point to the ground.
"Still in there. She had unfinished business, Sir," I reply.
Crazy timeline, I know, so the simplified version is ch 1: War to 2 weeks after War. Ch 2: still the second week after War. Ch 3: same as first two chapters. Ch 4: the third week since the War. Ch's 5-7: still third week and the fourth week since War. Ch 8: fifth week since War. And ch 9: 6th week/two months since War. The War is the base time for the story and is called War of the Cryptids in reality. Hope it helps! Thanks to all my fantastic readers!
