AN: Okay so, I'm going to be totally honest, I'm not entire sure how good this chapter is going to be, having never been on a real date before myself. To be honest, some of this is actually based off of the date that Peter Parker and Kitty Pryde went on in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, just with a few differences. I honestly hope you guys do like it though, because I really wanted this to feel like it would be how a first date between Spider-Man and Aelita would go. Also, there's now only one chapter left before the poll on who Ulrich's love interest will be goes down, so vote soon if you haven't already. So with that said...
I do not own anything from either the Code Lyoko or MARVEL franchises or any other franchise mentioned in this story.
Chapter 8: Dynamics of Heroes Dating
A couple of days after the adventure in Wakanda, the Avengers had all decided to just take a day to themselves and relax for a bit, and so, the whole team had gathered at the mansion and done their own thing for a while. Hank was working on a small experiment in one of his modular labs, Janet was just browsing through fashion magazines and watching some TV, T'Challa was meditating, and Tony, Steve, Ulrich, and Thor were all playing a friendly game of poker, or rather, Thor was doing his best to learn how to play as he participated in the game with the other three, who were cleaning him out. As for Aelita, she was the only one who was not relaxed at all, and the reason for this was that her mind kept wandering to one specific topic, or rather, one specific person.
Ever since she had spent that one day with Peter Parker and his friends, Aelita found that she was constantly thinking of the web swinging hero, and that led to her thinking that maybe Ulrich and Janet were right in saying that she might have feelings for him. Still, she felt that she could not be sure about that, because after all, she was still not entirely sure if she was over Jeremy yet. Aelita had heard some people say that you never really get over your first love, but if you ever lose that first love, then you cannot let it keep you from finding new love again. Still, was she really ready for that kind of relationship with someone again?
As that question and others continued to roll through her head, she let out a small groan in frustration as she wandered the halls of the mansion that was heard by Janet. "What's wrong Aelita," Janet asked.
Aelita paused to think about the wisdom of talking to Janet about this, but then again, the pink haired girl knew that Janet could be serious at times when she really needed to be, and there was no way she was going to talk to Ulrich about this for multiple reasons, so she figured she might as well take a chance. Aelita then just walked over and sat down next to Janet and simply said, "Jan, I think I might be developing feelings for a certain guy in my life, but I'm not sure if I'm really ready to start dating again."
"For arguments sake, let's call this certain guy Peter Parker," Janet smirked. When the fashion designing hero saw Aelita's face and how confused it really was, she immediately dropped all forms of teasing and simply said, "Aelita, you've had quite a long time to heal that wound, and I know it's always going to hurt, because it will never go away, but you can't just let it control your life."
"But Jan, I'm not even sure if I really do like him like that," Aelita argued.
"Well then, let's start by thinking about some things you like about him," Janet then said.
"Alright," Aelita replied and she began thinking as she voiced her thoughts. "I like spending time with him, talking with him about science or really just anything in general, I feel like I can confide in him about anything…"
"Keep going," Janet encouraged.
Aelita then adopted a faraway look as she gained a small smile. "I like his smile, his sense of humor, and I feel like I can talk to him about anything and trust him with anything. I mean, I barely knew him for more than half a day and willingly told him my secret identity, and when I told him about my parents and he placed his arm around me it was like I was overcome with a sense of warmth that told me that everything would be alright."
Janet smiled a bit more at this point and simply said, "I think you have your answer Aelita."
Aelita's faraway look disappeared then as she looked to Janet in confusion before she realized that Janet was right. Aelita let her smile return once more as she realized that she really did like Peter a lot and she then asked, "So, what should I do?"
"Why don't you try calling him and seeing if he wants to hang out or something. Just the two of you," Janet suggested.
"You mean, ask him on a date," Aelita asked.
"Not exactly. More like something for you both to test things out and see if you guys really want to start dating, but you can call it that if you both want," Janet shrugged. Aelita then just looked off to the side to think for a minute, before she quickly stood up and ran to find a phone.
Peter Parker was having a lousy day. Once again Jameson had used his photos to make Spider-Man look bad in the press, he had to suffer a major amount of humiliation at school, and now there was this blogger that was slandering Spider-Man online with a passion that made him think that he was related to Jameson. Peter groaned as he read more and more of the blog and just wished that all these people who wanted to slander him like this would just disappear for a day when suddenly his phone rang. "Hello," Peter answered as he picked up the phone, only to find that there was no one on the other end of the line. Peter glanced at the phone and saw that it was a blocked number, so he just shrugged and placed the phone back where it was to continue groaning and sulking about the blog.
The minute she had heard Peter's voice on the other end of the phone, Aelita had immediately chickened out and hung up at the last minute, but that was also partially because she was not alone in the room when she finally called him. "Real smooth, Princess," Ulrich chuckled.
"Shut it," Aelita retorted.
"You know, in this universe, we normally say 'hello' to start a…" Janet started to say.
"Leave! Both of you," Aelita interrupted and she shooed both of the two teasing Avengers out the door. The minute the two were out of the room, Aelita redialed the number and waited for Peter to answer once again.
"Hello," Peter's voice asked when he answered once again.
"Um…hey Peter. It's Aelita," Aelita said nervously, subconsciously playing with her bangs as she said that, still clearly nervous.
"Aelita? How'd you get my number," Peter asked. "Wait, don't tell me. J.A.R.V.I.S. right?"
"Actually, I looked it up in the phone book," Aelita replied, and somehow she just knew that Peter was slapping himself and had a look that clearly said that he was an idiot for not thinking that which made her giggle for a minute.
"So, is something wrong? With the Avengers or anything," Peter then asked.
"No, I was just wondering if you…wanted to…uh…hang out. You know, like…just the two of us," Aelita then asked, cursing herself for sounding like such a nervous little girl.
"What like a date," Peter asked.
"Uh, no…well I mean unless you wanted to…I mean just like," Aelita stuttered, now more nervous than ever, because if she were being honest with herself that was exactly what she really wanted this to be.
"Uh…yeah. Yeah, sure," Peter then said with a tone of excitement. "How's your schedule for tomorrow afternoon?"
"Pretty much clear unless something happens and we need to save the world or something," Aelita replied eagerly. "So, do you want to meet somewhere like at your school or…"
"Yeah, that would be cool, unless you don't mind me picking you up from Avengers Mansion," Peter then told her.
Aelita could already hear the teasing that would follow if Peter did that and immediately said, "No, no, no, no! I mean…that's okay, I'm totally cool with meeting you at your school. What time?"
"About 3:30," Peter replied.
"Okay, well…I'll see you then," Aelita agreed.
"Yeah. I'm looking forward to it…hey Aelita," Peter then said. "Thanks for calling like this. It was…really cool of you."
Aelita just smiled at this and told him it was no problem and then they both hung up. The minute she set the phone down, the full scope of things had finally hit Aelita and she let out an excited cry of joy at the fact that she actually had a date. From where they were eavesdropping outside of Aelita's room, Ulrich and Janet both had to wince due to the ringing in their ears that had resulted from Aelita's scream of joy, and they both had a feeling that Aelita was going to be alright. Though Janet was determined to do everything she could to make sure Aelita looked the best she possibly could for her date tomorrow and she was not going to let anything stop her, including Ulrich if necessary.
The following afternoon, the minute the bell at Midtown High had rang, everyone was out the door as fast as they could be, but none more so than Peter Parker it seemed, and the minute he was out the door, he scanned the crowd until his eyes finally fell upon the pink haired, green eyed form of Aelita, who shyly waved to him the moment she noticed that he had seen her. Peter then smiled and ran up to meet Aelita and simply said, "Hey."
"Hey yourself," Aelita replied. She then glanced around for a minute, still obviously nervous about this whole "testing the waters" thing, as Janet had called it, until she scowled a bit at something. "Is that guy giving someone a wedgie," she asked.
Peter looked and then scowled as well. "Yep. That is the results of being a nerd within arm's reach of Flash Thompson. The thing is, he's actually not all bad, and he is trying to do better now, but as you can see, he's still got a long way to go."
"Clearly," Aelita commented. She then cast a knowing glance at Peter and stated, "I suppose you had something to do with his decision to change in some way?"
"I may or may not have," Peter replied with a knowing smile of his own. He then rubbed the back of his head nervously and asked, "So…is there like a plan or something for today?"
"I was actually hoping you had something in mind. I went to a boarding school for junior and senior high school remember," Aelita pointed out, basically saying that she almost never really did anything that was not on Kadic Academy's campus the whole time she was there.
"Right. Well, we could always try the mall, or this place that a lot of us Midtown High kids go to called the Silver Spoon," Peter offered.
"Sounds like fun," Aelita agreed with a smile.
Peter then smirked as he offered Aelita his arm and said, "Shall we dear lady?"
"We shall indeed good sir," Aelita laughed in reply as she accepted the offered arm, and let Peter lead her off to the favorite hang out of the Midtown High students. A few hours later, the two were seated at a table in the restaurant and Aelita could immediately understand why the students at Peter's school normally hung out there. The place had a calm, peaceful atmosphere to it and great food as well, plus the fact that all the places you could sit at in the restaurant were set up to accommodate any sort of group you could think of as well.
The two were really enjoying each other's company, slipping into small talk about a few random topics for a time until a girl with blonde hair in a cheerleader outfit walked past and sniffed the air as she said, "Ugh, I think there's something nasty in here. Oh wait, that's just Stinky Pete."
Peter groaned in annoyance. Sally Avrils had been calling him that ever since they had to take part in a police ride-along together for a class that Gwen's father held last year and he had the misfortune to have landed in a pile of garbage earlier that same day while he was doing something as Spider-Man. Sally then turned to Aelita and smirked as she said, "Any time you want to ditch the geek king here, let me know and I'll set you up with a real man."
"I'll pass Miss. I'm sure that your definition of a real man is just someone who has the mind of a vegetable like you," Aelita immediately retorted in reply, thanking Odd once again for all the ideas of insults she could use for dealing with Sissi.
"Excuse me," Sally shrieked.
"Oh I'm sorry. Is your brain so small that it doesn't pick up on the signals that your ears send to it when you hear something," Aelita then asked with every inch of sarcasm she could muster, leading both her, Peter, and everyone else who heard her to laugh at Sally's expense.
Sally just growled at the pink haired girl and stormed off muttering something about hair dyed freaks, which made Aelita roll her eyes, not wanting to waste her breathe telling her that pink was her natural hair color. The minute Sally was gone, Peter immediately had to say, "Sorry about that. Sally never was one of my biggest fans."
"Don't sweat it. I've dealt with a lot worse than that from Sissi. Actually, she seems a lot like Sissi to be honest," Aelita reassured him.
"I guess that every school has at least one," Peter observed.
"Yep, and they all immediately get shut down the minute you point out their lack of intelligence," Aelita joked, getting a laugh out of both of them once again.
"So, I've gotta ask…this whole…thing that we're doing…what's the deal with it exactly," Peter then asked.
"Well…I guess that…I really need someone in my life that is really important to me but isn't like one of the Avengers or Ulrich," Aelita explained with a little blush, trying her best to keep herself from outright saying 'I think I might be in love with you, so I wanted to go out with you just to see if I was'. "I mean, don't get me wrong, they're all great, but aside from Ulrich, the closest one to my age is Janet, you know the Wasp, and really they're all like my new family to me now."
"Yeah, I get that. I just wish I could talk to some other people about…well all the things that we do," Peter said, hiding his own blush at having Aelita tell him that he's important to her.
"So, no one outside the Avengers knows who you are," Aelita asked.
"Well, there are four other heroes who know," Peter corrected. "You see, I used to be on this…team, I guess you could call it with a bunch of other heroes my age, but it only really lasted for like a year or so until we broke up and went our separate ways. We really had just formed to help each other learn and become better heroes, and by that point there really wasn't anything that any of us felt we could teach each other. Aside from that though, no there isn't anyone else. My aunt would freak if she ever found out I was Spider-Man."
"I don't know about that. I mean, my father knew I was a hero and he did everything he could to help me and my friends right to the bitter end. I know it's not really the same thing since my father was already something of a hero himself, but I'm pretty sure it's close to something like that," Aelita argued lightly.
"Maybe, but Aunt May's the only family I have left, and a while back when I was still new to the hero thing, back during the first Sinister Six thing, she had a heart attack simply because she was in the area of one of my battles. I couldn't just…" Peter then lowered his head a bit, and Aelita simply placed her hand on top of his in reassurance to say that she understood. "Besides, it's not just my aunt. You see, my ex…no, forget it."
"Why," Aelita asked.
"I'm whining and you don't want to hear about how screwed up my love life is. You know that little voice in your head that tells you you're whining and nobody cares? I've got that right now," Peter explained.
Aelita just gave him a reassuring smile as she ran her fingers across the top of his hand and said, "I care. Really, so just tell that little voice to shut up and let you tell the pretty girl in front of you what you were going to say."
Peter chuckled a bit at that remark, and then took a breath as he picked up from where he left off. "You see, my ex-girlfriend, you know Gwen, had gotten captured because one of my enemies found out I who I was, and it really left her traumatized, and before that, I was kind of…going through some things that led me to make some bad decisions, and that basically led to her hating me and Spider-Man which led to our break up."
"Do you mind if I ask what those things you were going through were," Aelita asked.
Peter lowered his head a bit as he said, "It's not really something I enjoy remembering all that much, but you see, back during this previous summer, I got exposed to this black goo that was actually an alien symbiote, and it changed me inside and out. At first, I thought it had just given me a new, black suit, but it was slowly bonding with me and changing me into a royal jerk, and when I finally got it off, it had already bonded with me for so long to do some damage to my relationships with all of my friends and lead to my break up with Gwen, but that wasn't the worst part. It bonded with someone who hated both Peter Parker and Spider-Man, and when it bonded with him, it showed him that the two were one-in-the-same. He became poison to both of me and my hero identity, which was why he started to call himself Venom. After all of that I'm certain that if Gwen ever found out that I'm Spider-Man, she would never speak to me again, and any chance I'd have of being her friend again would go right out the door."
"Yikes," Aelita said in reply. "If it makes you feel better though, I have a pretty good idea of what being controlled by something is like. There were a number of times when that monster had taken over my mind to further his plans in some way, and I could do nothing more than watch as he used me like a puppet."
"Wow, that's scary," Peter agreed. "But at least it never resulted in you ending a relationship like how having the symbiote bonded to me did. Worst part is that I have to watch while she goes out with my best friend, Harry, and his opinion of Spider-Man isn't all that great either after what happened to his dad."
"Yeah, you've definitely had it worse than me," Aelita admitted. She then thought of something and asked, "Hey, isn't there some kind of guy rule that says you shouldn't date your best friend's ex, or something?"
"Kind of, but it seems that Harry ignored that rule. I'm not begrudging him and Gwen happiness, but I just wish they didn't do it while I was around, even if they didn't know it," Peter quickly said. "All-in-all, it's why I've kind of tried to avoid starting another relationship."
Aelita was about to ask what Peter meant by that, when a salt shaker suddenly crashed onto their table between them. They then looked to see Flash and some of his friends sending them half-apologetic looks as they laughed, and Peter immediately stopped Aelita from going after them as he gave a laugh of his own in response to the jocks as he told them, "Okay Flash, you got us. Good one, but next time, how about waiting until after I'm no longer in such sparkling company?"
Flash shrugged and simply called back, "No promises Parker, but I'll try to keep that in mind."
Aelita smiled at Peter being the bigger man in that and how Peter seemed to be right in saying that Flash was trying to do better and then asked, "I know that you guys are sort of friends and all, but is there somewhere we can go that they can't?"
"Well, there is one place," Peter replied with a smirk, and he immediately stood up to lead Aelita to that place.
About an hour later, the two found themselves on top of a roof that granted them an amazing view of New York City just as the sun was setting. As he helped her up to the roof, Peter asked Aelita, "Are you sure you're okay with this?"
"Yeah, this is really cool. I don't normally come up to roof tops as Aelita," the pink haired girl reassured the web head.
"I meant with the wind," Peter clarified.
"I fly around the city on nearly a daily basis. A little wind isn't going to be that much of a problem for me after that," Aelita pointed out. Peter nodded in conceit of that, as he had forgotten for a second that she could fly, and they then just walked over to the ledge of the roof as they stared out at the setting sun. When Peter noticed a familiar sky scraper, he immediately tapped Aelita's shoulder and pointed to it as he said, "See that building there? That's where the Warriors were first officially formed during a battle against the third Sinister Six."
"The Warriors," Aelita asked.
"It's what my old team and I called ourselves," Peter clarified.
Aelita nodded in understanding of that, and then remembered what Peter was saying earlier and asked, "So, about what you were saying earlier. Do you think that you can't date or something?"
"Well, I don't think I can. I mean, if I can't protect the person from my enemies…" Peter replied, leaving the end of his sentence hanging for Aelita's imagination to figure out.
"Well, what if they…I don't know, had powers or something and could handle themselves, especially if they were on a big time team," Aelita then asked. She immediately slapped both hands over her mouth as her eyes widened in shock at what she had just said. Idiot! What is the matter with you Schaeffer?! You might as well be shouting, "Hey I want to be your girlfriend" at him, or "I really like you and I want us to be together", Aelita mentally berated herself. "Sorry, sorry. That was extremely forward of me. Just…forget what I said," Aelita quickly told Peter.
"No, don't worry about it, I thought it was a good point," Peter reassured her, honestly saying that he really had not ever thought about that since he normally just hung around average people all the time and never once thought of dating someone else with powers. Sure there was that one time with one of his old teammates, but they had decided that it would be better if they had just remained friends and kept more of a brother and sister relationship. Seeing Aelita's still distressed look, he quickly told her, "I mean it. I wasn't freaked out."
"I was," Aelita admitted.
"Clearly," Peter teased in reply.
"I just…I can't believe that I just came out and said that. You must think I'm a complete spaz," Aelita moaned a bit.
"Trust me, you're not the spaz here. That would be me. You're the cute, beautiful, smart girl who is amazing in every way I can think of," Peter told her, basically admitting his own feelings for Aelita without actually saying that.
Aelita blushed a little as she smiled and asked, "You really mean that?"
"Yeah. I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true," Peter reassured her. At that moment, the two found their eyes locked with one another's, and they both simply acted on impulse and began to slowly lean towards each other. Just when their lips were about to meet though, a loud explosion suddenly sounded from somewhere nearby, and they both instantly spun to see smoke rising in the distance. Peter instantly reached for his bag and pulled out his web shooters and he lifted his shirt off to reveal his Spider-Man suit underneath as he said, "I should check that out."
"I'm coming with you," Aelita immediately said.
"I can't ask you to do that, and besides, it's too dangerous," Peter argued as he slipped his mask on.
"Um, hello. Big time Avenger here, remember? Besides, I can't get hurt while I'm suited up, and it's not like we haven't fought bad guys together before," Aelita then reminded him as she tapped her watch and changed to Angel Guardian, just to prove her point.
"Oh yeah. You're right, sorry," Peter then apologized, and with that, the two immediately leapt off the building and flew towards the disaster that had occurred on either a web line or a pair of wings.
The minute they were on the scene, they saw the large, red armored form of the Vault escapee, Crimson Dynamo, firing off his weapons in random directions as he shouted out for Iron Man to come and face him, clearly indicating that he was trying to lure Stark out to fight him alone. Seeing this, Aelita immediately swooped down with an energy field charged, and she fired it dead center into his chest. The field hit him, but it only seemed to push him back while leaving a bit of a scorch mark on his armor. Aelita could not believe her eyes at the sight of someone being able to stand up to her energy field so easily, but she did not have time to dwell on it, as she immediately flew out of the way of the missiles that Crimson Dynamo fired at her.
Dynamo was about to finally shoot her out of the air, when suddenly, a large glob of webbing suddenly splattered across his helmet, effectively blinding him. A minute later, Spider-Man leaped onto Dynamo's back, tore a covering off of the armor, and then studied the machinery inside of the villain's armor before he finally grabbed a handful of wires as he shouted, "Well, this looks important."
He then pulled the wires out all at once, and suddenly Crimson Dynamo was sent flying through the air uncontrollably. "You fool! I cannot control my flight path!"
"And yet your still able to get air borne," Spidey commented. "Maybe if I did this!" When he said that, the web head fired a web line at the jet boot on Crimson Dynamo's feet and gave it a hard pull that yanked the boot off.
"NO! You've doomed us both," Dynamo shouted.
"You so have not been paying attention," Spidey said as he leaped off of Dynamo and fired his web shooters just ahead of the armored villain, and soon enough said villain found himself caught in a massive spider web. Spider-Man then prepared to fire a web line when he was suddenly caught up Angel Guardian.
"We really need to stop meeting like this," Angel Guardian joked as she flew to the ground and used her powers to encase Crimson Dynamo's lower half in cement. The two then noticed everyone cheering for their victory, and that's when Aelita smirked a little and called out, "Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for the hero of the day! The Spectacular Spider-Man!"
The crowd all instantly began chanting, "Spidey, Spidey, Spidey!" over and over again as Aelita turned the wall crawling hero and told him, "You see, maybe not everyone likes you, but at least a majority of the people do, and those who do, are always the most grateful to you."
Spider-Man could only smirk beneath his mask as he walked up to Aelita and said, "Cute."
The next thing Aelita knew, she was being lifted up into Spider-Man's arms and before she could protest, Spider-Man had fired off a web line and swung the both of them away, never once noticing the whole time how Crimson Dynamo seemed to glow an eerie greenish yellow color before he disappeared in a wave of smoke. Aelita immediately latched her arms around Spider-Man's neck and shut her eyes in fear until she heard Peter softly say over the wind blowing through her ears, "Don't worry Aelita. I promise, I won't let anything happen to you."
Aelita then opened her eyes a little and looked to see the world flying past her. The sight of this and the feeling of the wind in her face as Peter made a series of flips and other acrobatic moves through the air as he fired off web line after web line from his free web shooter, all made her smile with excitement and feel as though she were flying through the air like she always did. She then looked to the man holding her, and she could just catch a small glimpse of Peter's eyes through his mask, and when she did she saw that his eyes held a fierce determination unlike anything she had ever seen before. The mere sight of this fire in his eyes made her heart seem to flutter, and she blushed at the thought that Peter might be able to hear it given how close he was to her at the moment.
Soon enough, they had landed back on the roof top that they had started from, and the minute her feet touched the ground, Aelita spun around as she exclaimed, "That was amazing! It felt like all my troubles were just racing away like they seem to do whenever I go flying!" She then turned to look at Peter to see he had pulled his mask off and was staring at her with a small smile. "What is it," Aelita asked.
"Nothing it's just…I kind of think your real eyes are much prettier," Peter admitted. "Not that your eyes aren't pretty as Angel Guardian, I just think that…"
Aelita just laughed before she placed a finger on his lips and said, "It's okay. I know what you meant." The two then stared at each other for a moment again as Aelita changed back to herself, showing Peter the beautiful green eyes he had just mentioned, until Aelita finally asked, "Um…a little while ago…before we went off to be heroes…were you going to…you know…kiss me?"
"Um…I…yeah, I think so," Peter admitted sheepishly, not sure how she would react to the honest truth.
Aelita nodded as she then said, "Okay. That's…that's good."
"Hey, Aelita," Peter then said. "About what you said earlier, about dating someone with powers. I was wondering if you would…you know…and I'm not asking just because you have powers or anything, I just…"
"Peter," Aelita interrupted.
"Yeah," Peter asked.
Aelita simply smiled and said, "Just stop talking and kiss me."
Peter smiled in return and the next thing either of them knew, they were doing just that. As Peter continued to press his lips against Aelita's, his arms encircled her waist as he pulled her closer to him, while Aelita wrapped her arms around his neck doing the same. They held that little moment for just a few more minutes until finally the need to breathe caused them to break apart and gaze at each other lovingly. "So, care to do this again next Saturday night? Hopefully without the supervillain fight," Peter then asked.
Aelita just giggled as she smiled and replied, "I'd love to, Peter."
"It's a date then," Peter said, and with that, the two pulled each other in for one more quick kiss before they released each other and waved to one and other as they began their respective journeys back home, both thinking that things were going to be going even better than ever before in their lives.
Outside the supervillain prison known as the Cube, a group of soldiers clad in green armor were approaching the damaged prison, weapons readied, as the leader radioed in saying, "Attention S.H.I.E.L.D. command, this is Hulk Buster unit 221 approaching the Cube. We are go for recon." He then paused before he turned to his soldiers to say, "Stay sharp. I don't want any…AAAAAAHHHHH!"
He never finished as a large, green, three fingered hand reached out from the shadows and grabbed him, before he disappeared into those shadows. The remaining soldiers quickly opened fire, but none of them were prepared for the massive energy wave that erupted from the top of the Cube and then formed a dome around the prison. It did not take a genius to figure out that the dome was made of gamma radiation, and that could only mean big trouble for everyone that was unfortunate enough to be inside of it.
AN: So there you have it. Aelita and Spider-Man are now an official couple, they took down Crimson Dynamo only for him to be swept away by the Enchantress, in case that wasn't obvious, and now things are set for the big adventure at the Cube as the team faces off against the Leader and all the other gamma powered villains. I really hope I did alright with this chapter, since I am sure that I'm not all that good with chapters that are focused on romantic moments like this, so please be honest in your opinions of how well I did, and if you think I did bad, please be sure to tell me what I should try to improve so I'll be able to do better in the future. Now, let's get onto the preview shall we!...
The Cube has been seized by the supervillains it once housed in cells, and the Avengers are brought in to help deal with the problem. But when it's discovered that the Cube is not the main problem, their only hope lies in the chances of Aelita and the rouge Ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Hawkeye, finding the Hulk. Can Ulrich and Thor hold out against the leader and his gamma powered followers until their allies return with the gamma powered support they need? Or will their gamma ray altered Avengers tear them apart? Find out in the next exciting adventure that is…Chapter 9: Gamma World.
