Erin and Astrid sat at a table alone, eating in the Hall. The two discussed random things together, smiling and laughing.
"So, you and Katie. How long have you been friends for?" Astrid asked, taking a drink.
"Oh, so many years. I can't even remember how we met!" Erin shrugged. She sent Astrid a smile before taking a bite of her meat. "I'm really glad you said yes to this. I've never really been on a date before."
"It's no problem! So," Astrid cleared her throat. "If you don't mind me asking, which way do you...?"
"Oh, I'm bi." Erin informed. "I'm curious to what your sexuality is too."
"What a coincidence!" Astrid smiled brightly. "I'm also bi. I'm glad I'm not the only one."
"Oh, you're not. Katie is too, but her crush is her straight side talking." Erin grinned. "She has a little crush on Hi~ccup!" She sung teasingly. Astrid's eyes grew large and her smile widened.
"Shall we play matchmaker soon, then?" The blonde girl laughed quietly. Erin nodded.
"Agreed!"
Watching them from another table, Katie was sitting with the other teens of Berk.
"They look so happy." Katie murmured, making the teens look at her.
"Y'know, we could be happier together." Snotlout flirted. Katie gagged, lifting a hand to her mouth as if she was about to throw up. Her face grew pale at the thought of her and Snotlout together.
"I'll pass." She bluntly declined, slowly removing her hand from her mouth before staring at her plate of untouched food. After Snotlout's offer, she definitely wasn't going to eat it now. Pushing her plate away, Katie turned to face the other teens her age. "I'm really happy for Erin. She's never gone on a date before and she must be enjoying herself." Suddenly, she let out a squeak as something scampered up her bare leg.
"What? What is it?" Hiccup asked as Katie tensed up. Katie quickly looked down only to sigh in relief.
"It was only the baby Skrill." She reassured, picking up the Skrill and resting it on her lap. She offered it some of the meat on her plate, which it devoured hungrily.
"Judging by the spikes on it's body, I say it's a girl." Fishlegs said. "Female Skrill are said to have more pointed spikes on their body.(I just made that up.)" Katie looked down at the Skrill before unconsciously saying a name.
"Elektra. Her name will be Elektra." Katie watched the Skrill raise her head and croon happily at her new name.
"That's a nice name." Hiccup smiled before petting Elektra on the head. She let out a happy wail. Katie laughed softly.
"Thank you, Hiccup. Say, are there any other places on Berk for Erin and I to stay? I feel as if we are a bother in Ruff and Tuff's home." Katie asked, scratching her neck slightly.
"Not that I know of."
"I just feel really bad for us taking their room." Katie looked at the table sadly.
"Well, I know that Astrid has a spare room in her house, and I have a spare bed in my house. I'll ask my dad and Astrid." Hiccup suggested. "Maybe one of you could move to Astrid's and the other could move to mine."
"Really? That would be brilliant. Thank you." Katie sighed with relief.
The two decided to see his Dad and ask so they both exited the Great Hall together. They silently walked, just enjoying each other's presence. Then, Katie spoke up as Elektra curled around her neck.
"If we are allowed to move, I think Erin would like to stay at Astrid's home." Katie suggested, looking at the freckled boy.
"That sounds good to me, Katie. You can stay at mine if allowed, then. Just a warning, the spare bed is in mine and Toothless's room." Hiccup scratched the back of his neck sheepishly.
"That's all right with me, Hic!" Katie insisted, looking at the boy. "It'll be more reassuring to be close to someone I know." The two entered Hiccup's house and Stoick stood up. Katie froze, her eyes wide. Feeling intimidated, she bowed to show respect. "It's a pleasure to meet the chief of Berk and father of Hiccup. A true honour."
"Hey, dad." Hiccup waved. "This is Katie. She was one of the two that appeared here on Berk. She requested that her and Erin move to somewhere where they won't be taking someone's room."
"Yes, I feel really bad for my friend Erin and I taking Ruffnut and Tuffnut's room. Hiccup offered that I stay here and that, if it was all right for Astrid, Erin would stay at the Hofferson household." Katie continued, her back straightened from it's bowed position. "I-in return, I could cook and clean a-and help out with any work."
"That won't be necessary. I'll allow you to move here." Stoick nodded. Katie felt a smile grow on her face.
"Thank you, sir!" Katie bowed once again, Elektra crying in delight at her 'mother's' happiness. After the discussion was over, Katie and Hiccup bade farewell to Stoick and exited the house, heading back to the great hall. Along the way, they bumped into Astrid and Erin.
"Katie!" Erin exclaimed. "You'll never guess what? I'm going to be staying at Astrid's now!"
"That's great! I'll be staying with Hiccup."
"Ooooh, my OTP is becoming a reality!" Erin squealed, turning to Astrid who looked just as happy. "My OTP, Kup, has finally become canon!"
"Good grief." Katie facepalmed. Then, Elektra perked up. She launched herself from Katie's neck and scampered off in a random direction. "Ah?! Elektra, wait!" Katie sprinted after her quickly. Hiccup, Erin and Astrid followed her closely behind. They came to the beach as Katie picked Elektra up off from the sand. "God, Elektra, what's the matter?" She asked the small dragon. Erin was about to suggest something when something roughly grabbed her hair.
"Ah!" She cried, struggling in someone's grasp. The other three turned to see someone who Katie hoped not to see while in the world of How To Train our Dragon. Astrid growled angrily before yelling.
"Let her go, Dagur!"
