~Chapter 9 : Chosen fate~
The night was beautiful and perfect.
Well, almost. If it wasn't for the beginning of a life changing situation.
Both, the captain and the phantom were very tense.
"I'm sorry, Tetsuya."
Kuroko blinked.
And blinked again.
Amused, Akashi looked at Kuroko, but soon his eyes grew serious again. "I'm sorry for what I have done to you. I treated you pretty bad, I know that. After you left the club, I realized how much of a bastard I really was."
Kuroko arched a thin eyebrow. Really? He only realized then, that he was an idiot? Actually, the whole Kiseki no Sedai were idiots, but Akashi was the worst of them. Besides, Kuroko got really hurt because of him. Of course, he was hurt by the others too, but Akashi hurt him the most, to say at least. After all, Kuroko was so in love with him that he practically took care of his needs above his own.
No, not physically, like sex, but either he always made sure that the other was at least a bit happy. In the end it was for nothing anyway, so why should he still do it. With the resign letter, Kuroko stopped caring about Akashi's needs. Well, that was what he told himself that time, but in truth Kuroko had to fight not to be near the red-haired boy.
It just hurt to much.
But, that was in the past. Maybe, he could forgive Akashi, after all he apologized which happened really rarely.
Letting out a sigh, the light-blue haired boy fought with himself. What should he do?
Forget it, he knew exactly what he had, no, what he wanted to do!
"You know, Akashi-kun, even if you admit now that you were a bastard, it doesn't change the fact that you stayed a bastard, back then.
Noticing the slight flinch on the slightly taller's boy posture, Kuroko hardened his eyes and stared at him, daring him to speak.
Akashi exhaled shakily and begun to explain. "I am well aware of this, Tetsuya. You may not like the answer I will give you, but I swear it is the truth. I will not lie to you and I won't talk around the bushes. I will-."
"Akashi-kun, you are stalling.
The shorter boy was just ignored by the captain, who continued to speak. "I will make you understand and then you can decide if you want to forgive me or not."
Kuroko stared at him for a bit longer, until he found it unnecessary and reverted his gaze to the stars. "Actually, I already decided what to do."
Akashi tensed and bit his lower lip. He already decided? Which possibility did he chose? Would Kuroko give him a chance to a life ...
Oh god, would Kuroko LEAVE him?
"I won't forgive you this easily. What you did to me back then, hurt me very badly. Do you know the feeling of being hurt by the person you love the most? Do you?"
With each word the shorter boy uttered, Akashi tensed more and more, having a vague idea of what Kuroko decided.
"The feeling of your shattered soul and heart. The feeling of your shattered BEING! Do you know how that feels? It's the worst feeling ever. It's like you can't breath!"
Kuroko raised his voice a bit, which was rare for the normally quiet shadow.
"So,no. I will not forgive you."
Akashi, already expecting it, slumped forward. His bangs hiding his beautiful, hetero chromatic orbs.
Well, what did he expect? Kuroko throwing himself in his arms and declaring his unending love for him?
"At least not yet."
Snapping his eyes open, full of disbelieve, Akashi turned his gaze to Kuroko. Did he just heard right? Was there really a chance for him to be forgiven by Kuroko? Meanwhile, said boy stared forward, not looking at the re-haired captain.
"I won't forgive you, but that doesn't mean that I won't EVER forgive you. I decided to give you the chance to prove yourself to me, hence you'll be on probation for the first few months. If I can trust you enough, I can TRY to forgive you, but it all depends on you." Kuroko turned to face Akashi, who still stared at in disbelieve, and smiled a smile that was only reserved for Akashi.
Of course, this didn't go unnoticed by the captain. The corner of his mouth twitching slightly upwards. His eyes full of relieve and so happy, that it made Kuroko's smile grow bigger. "That means your giving me another chance, right?" There was so much excitement in Akashi's voice that Kuroko couldn't help, but laugh quietly. "Yes, Akashi-"
"Sei."
The excitement was replaced by seriousness and Kuroko couldn't help, but be startled by the sudden exclamation. "Sei?" Kuroko Asked and blinked, not quietly grasping what the other meant. Akashi nodded, not noticing Kuroko's confusion. Thankfully, the shadow soon understood what the captain meant. "Sei." This time it wasn't a question, but rather a try to test the nick name, feeling special to be a person who could call him with it. How many persons were there to call Akashi so intimately? Okay, there were Murasakibara and Kise, but honestly, Murasakibara was like a big adorable baby and Kise was like a puppy. Kuroko new that Akashi had no problem to let Murasakibara call him 'Aka-chin', he was to adorable to refuse and Akashi had a soft spot for him, just like Kuroko had. In middle school there were times, that he and Akashi had to act like Murasakibara's parents, which was rather fun. Neither of the two complained about it, just enjoying the time they had together, despite not knowing how the other felt.
Kise was another matter all together.
Despite being annoyed by the nick name, Akashi allowed it, because he was part of the team anyway and felt necessary to show SOME kindness to him. Akashi once told him that he got rather pissed at Kise for being touchy wit him, which confused Kuroko greatly back then, but know he had a vague idea why. Since he needed Kise in the team, he decided to let it go, for now at least.
Still, this time was different. Akashi was the one who suggested to call him by a nick name. Of course, Kuroko would feel special. But being the polite, well behaved boy, he would rather use a honorific suffix.
"Sei-kun." He said stubbornly and crossed his arms over his chest, pouting lightly. It was rather childish, but to Akashi it was the cutest sight he had ever seen. Smirking, he walked over to Kuroko and flicked his nose gently. "You never change do you?"
Kuroko's pout grew a little, as he was flicked on the nose. "What is so bad at being politce?" Akshi chuckled. "Nothing, but I found it funny how you can be so formal to your boyfriend."
Kuroko blinked and then his eyes grew wide. "Boyfriend?"
The captain, not expecting this reaction, quirked a perfectly thin eyebrow. "Yes, boyfriend." He drew his hand back, that was still on Kuroko's nose and turned forward. "Did you thought I would be satisfied at the idea only to be your friend? Certainly not. Plus, I believe, no I KNOW that you meant you'll give me a chance to a relationship and not a second chance for friendship."
Kuroko's eyes grew deadpaned. "Actually, I meant another chance to prove yourself to me as a FRIEND. How do expect us to be a couple if I can't trust you?"
"But-"
The light-blue haired boy shook his at the interruption. "Sei-kun. A relationship is based of friendship and trust. In the mean time we don't have neither of them. Our friendship was ruined once, I don't want to be put in that situation again. I give you another chance at being my FRIEND, if you pass and I trust you enough, we can try, but not now!" His voice didn't held room for arguments, so Akashi slumped forward, a defeated expression on his face. All in all, he wasn't that sad and miserable, because he knew there was still a chance.
Taking a deep breath and exhaling it, Akashi turned his gaze to Kuroko, who already returned his own gaze to him, and reached for his hand. Holding it in his own, he squeezed the shadow's hand and received a squeeze in return, along with a small smile.
The next action, however, caught him completely off of guard.
Kuroko drew closer, until he was standing in front of Akashi. He raised his free hand and brought it to the back of Akashi's head, griping the hair lightly ad yanking him forward, until their lips met in a sweet kiss.
The captain's eyes grew big, before shutting them and returning the kiss with equally sweetness. His hand released Kuroko's, his arms encircling Kuroko's waist and tugging him closer.
Soon, Kuroko broke the kiss due to lack of oxygen and looked Akashi straight in the eyes. Akashi, for the matter, had glazed eyes, which were filled with happiness and a hint of lust. The shorter boy smiled at the sight and cupped a cheek, rubbing his thumb against perfect smooth skin in circular motions. He was happy at the fact that Akashi leaned in to his hand.
"I love you Sei-kun. I really do, but I want a relationship with you that contains trust. Trust that I don't have in you at the moment, but I hope you change this fact. Kami will be my witness, this is the last chance I give you. So, are you willing to wait and show me that I can trust you wholly and without flaws?"
Hetero-chromatic eyes bored into his, staring at him so intense that Kuroko couldn't tears his gaze away even if he wanted.
Slowly, a small smile formed on the red-haired boy's face. His own hand enveloping the hand on his cheek. "I will do everything that stands in my power, to increase your trust in me. I will wait for you no matter what. Heck I waited for two years, I think I can wait another few months. After all, I love you too."
"Good." Replied the shadow and smiled brightly, which made Akashi blush a little. Kuroko then looked at his watch and jolted. It was already 22:40 pm. "I should probably go now. Haru-nii expects me at the hotel at 23:00 pm and you know how he gets if I'm late."
Oh yes, Akashi had multiple times in Teiko to witness the overprotective and panicked side of the older Kobayashi, when ever Kuroko wasn't on time, assuming he was kidnapped. Back then, he founded it absurd, but now he could understand why he had been so panicked.
How could he not understand, after everything Aimi told him?
His eyes softened at Kuroko. He then proceeded to take the shorter boy's hand and started to pull him beside himself. "I bring you to your hotel, I'm not appealed by the idea of you walking alone on these streets, at night no less. Who knows what could happen t you."
"I'm not a girl, Sei-kun." Deadpanned Kurok. "I know, I know. Still, I would feel better, if I bring you there personally." Chuckling, at Kuroko's annoyed twitch, he spun around so fast, that Kuroko couldn't dodge, and attacked the shorter boy's lips in a searing kiss. After a few moment they broke apart.
"A little warning, Tetsuya. I may have agreed to take it slow, but that doesn't mean that I will stop kissing you. Actually, it was your fault in the first place. You made a mistake the moment your lips touched mine. It would be rather cruel to deny the taste of you, after you let me taste it myself, isn't it?"
Kuroko really hated that arrogant smirk, on the red-haired boy's handsome face, right now.
Oh, well. Kuroko didn't really complain, did he?
A/N : FINALLY! Gosh, I'm so sorry for the long wait, but I got much work to do, because of school and honestly, I was really lazy to write, but here it is. Have fun with the new chapter, to whoever still reads this fanfiction xD You noticed the way Akashi and Kuroko were OOC? Yeah? Well, that's because I need them to be like this when they are around others. Of course, I'll try not to make them too OOC, but I can't promise anything.
Another thing, I will mostly like re-upload the other chapter, not all, but most of them, because I noticed that there are still some mistakes, that I will fix...But not now, I'm to tired. :D
Goodnight, to you all and...
Until next time! ;)
