*Lucy's p.o.v* 3 years later.

"Are you ready yet?" Levy called to me from behind the curtain.

"One more minute." I replied, smoothing the fabric into place. I gave myself one more look over in the mirror before I decided to exit the changing room. Depending what the girls said, I had the feeling that this dress was the one. "Okay close your eyes."

"Closed." Levy and Erza called back. I couldn't help the beaming smile that was permanently stuck to my face these days. I was just too happy! I pulled the curtain aside an inch to make sure there was no peaking going on. Satisfied that both my friends had their eyes firmly shut, I pulled back the flimsy material and stepped out.

"Ok you can open your eyes now." I chirped, watching as my nakama did as they were told. I laughed as they both seemed to struggle to speak. "Is it bad?"

"You Look amazing Lu-chan." Levy whispered, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Yes Levy is right, you look marvelous." Erza agreed, giving me a warm smile. "Hibiki is indeed a lucky man."

"Thanks guys." I wiped at my own eyes as tears had snuck up on me. "It really is a gorgeous dress." It really was, it was made completely of satin and fit me like a glove, the feeling of wearing it was amazing like been wrapped in water. It wasn't too revealing and had a small train at the back but best of all the clasps that held the straps in place were made of real diamonds. I'd decided not to go with a veil instead I'd have a hair clip veil that would fit on the back when my hair was all done for the big day. "I can't believe it's only 3 weeks away."

"Me either." Levy replied, handing me a tissue. "It seems like only yesterday that you got engaged."

"Yes it's hard to imagine that in just a few weeks you'll be an honest woman." Erza nodded, before looking at the store clock. "I am terrible sorry but I need to head back to the guild, I have a matter to attend to." She swiftly stood up gave me a hug and walked out of the shop.

"Well that was weird." Levy muttered, pushing herself up off her chair.

"I agree." I sweat dropped before going over to help my best friend. "Are you alright?"

"You're as bad as Gajeel." She giggled waving me off. "I'm Pregnant not dying so don't treat me like an invalid." She huffed.

"Well I have to make sure my little niece or nephew is ok." I winked at the woman. "But I never saw Gajeel as being the worry wart about this."

"It's worse than his obsession with Lily." She sighed rubbing her ever expanding tummy. "I know it comes from a good place but it's driving me mad! I can't even pick up book if I drop it, for heavens sake."

"Aww he's going to make a great daddy." I watched as Levy's face changed from annoyed to loving in just a split second, and wondered what sort of a father Hibiki would make. I think he'd make a great dad to a little girl, a little boy I'm not too sure about haha. He'd probably get jealous of another man getting all my attention. That or he'd teach the little man to be a womanizer. That I will have to look out for if we ever have children of our own.

"Erm. excuse me ma'am." The store clerk said, snapping me out of my little daydream.

"Yes?"

"Would you like to buy that dress or try another one on?" She smiled in that, hurry up and choose already way shop assistants have. I couldn't blame her this was the 18th dress I'd tried on here to day.

"What do you think, Levy-chan?" I inquired, turning to face my friend for her approval. Everybody knows the bride can't choose a dress that her maid of honour doesn't agree on. "Is it the one."

"Well," Levy grinned. "You look stunning, I would go for that one. It'll blow him away on your wedding day.

"Yes, you look divine. You know it isn't to late to change your mind and marry me." Came suave, very familiar voice from behind me.

"Not gonna happen Loki." I deadpanned, glancing over my shoulder to see the lion spirit in question.

"How you wound me." He whined, faking a broken heart.

"What would Aries say if she saw you flirting again?" I shot at him, before turning my back on him and returning my attention to the clerk. I saw the shimmer signalling that he'd returned home to his own partner.

"I'll take it." I smiled at the short mousy looking woman as she sighed in relief.

"That'll be 1,000,000 jewel please." She demanded in a business like fashion. I felt my eyes bulge out of their sockets as I heard the price, how much?!

"Ok... one minute, I'll take it off then pay." I shuttered as I went back into the curtained changing room. I know money wasn't such a big deal anymore especially since I became an S-class wizard 2 years ago now, but still the broke girl in me was screaming at me not to buy it...Nope I wanted this dress and it didn't matter how much it cost. I loved it and that was that.

After putting the dress back on its hanger, I exited the changing room once again and headed over to the till to pay. I felt somewhat hesitant to hand over my bank card but, as I reminded myself, I'd worked and saved hard to be able to afford the perfect dress so I had to man up and part with my jewels. I left the dress at the store so that it could have some alterations made and so that Natsu couldn't destroy it by mistake the next time he broke into my appartment.

"Lu-chan wanna grab something to eat before we go back to the guild?" Levy asked as we exited the store.

"Sure how about we go to our usual cafe?" I replied as I stretched quickly, trying dresses one was hard work.

"Sounds great." The bluenette smiled, as we made our there. Luckily it wasn't far away so it didn't take us long to get ourselves there and sat down with drinks and food ordered.

"Are you alright?" I asked as I saw Levy winch slightly as she sat down.

"Yeah, little one is just restless is all." She smiled patting her tummy again. I couldn't help but feel a slightly maternal myself as I watched my best friend rubbing her bump.

"How much longer do you have left?" I knew it couldn't be too much longer, as Levy looked about ready to pop the baby out any time now, but I'd been back and forth on mission so much lately that it felt like I was hardly at the guildhall anymore.

"I'm due in about 4 weeks according to my doctor. Though I hope she doesn't come early or on your wedding day." She giggled, taking a sip of her drink.

Its a girl?!" I squealed, clasping my hands together.

"I don't know for sure but I have the feeling who ever is in here will be a girl." She hummed. Just then the food arrived and we tucked in, the food really was amazing here.

"Can you believe how much everything has changed in the course of just 3 years?" I sighed, after we'd finished chowing down. It was a topic that crossed my mind daily.

"It's crazy isn't it, and who would have thought that out of all of us it would be Me and Gajeel that got married first." We both laughed at this. "But life is crazy after all, nothing stays still, that is the fun part."

"Yeah I agree." I placed my chin in my hands and used my elbows to prop me up on the table. "I can't believe I'll be Mrs Heartfilia- Laytis in a few weeks time, its just gone by so fast. But what's more you and Mira are both about to become mums."

"Seems like only yesterday we were all sat around the pregnancy tests." Levy giggled, taking a sip of her decaf. I just smiled back at her remembering the event. Mira and Levy had both found out they were expecting within a matter of weeks of the other and somehow I'd been roped into sitting with them both as they'd waited for the results of their home test kits. The overwhelming sensation of been a part of that experience had, had us all in tears when the stick had given us the positive sign. I felt tears welling up in my eyes at the memory, hopefully that will be me in the not too distant future.

"Hows the house hunt been going?" Levy tactfully changed the course of the conversation. She probably noticed the fact I was on the verge of crying, she really was the best.

"We found a great place." I replied, wiping at the corner of my eyes to remove my previous mistyness. "It's two train stops away from both guilds, so the journey to work won't be too horrendous and I'll be able to see everyone as much as I want."

"That's amazing, see I knew you'd find the perfect place." Levy winced. She suddenly hunched over as what seemed to be a sharp pain hit her.

"Are you okay?" I rushed round to her side of the table, and gently rubbed her shoulder as she breathed in and out steadily until the pain passed.

"I think so." She nodded in reassurance as I helped her stand up. "Sorry Lu-chan but I think I need to go home and rest."

"Don't be sorry Levy-chan." I scolded the petite woman. "You should have said you were in pain sooner."

"It's only braxton hicks contractions, there perfectly normal for this stage of pregnancy." My best friend poo pooed me as we paid and exited onto to street. "Ohh."

I looked down at the woman who was in turn staring at a wet patch on the cobbles around her feet. "Erm Levy-chan, I believe your waters just broke."

"The babys coming." We both gasped together.

*Hibiki's p.o.v*

I stared at the ever congregating mass of people in front of me. There weren't too many people as we'd decided to only invite close friends and family and guild mates. Still it felt like a million people were staring back at me as I nervously fiddled with my cuff links, which is odd for me I never normally get camera shy, so to speak.

"Hibiki." Eve elbowed me to gain my attention, as if he'd been trying to get it for a while.

"Yes?" I replied, turning to face my best man. He was dressed in his best tux with his hair flopping around as if he hadn't really bothered with it. Then again his hair was alarmingly like mine in the fact that it never did what it was told and always looked messy. Luckily for me Lucy loved the way it always looked like I had bed head.

"Don't worry, nee-san is going to turn up." Eve reassured me with a wide grin. That wasn't what I was worried about but bless him for thinking it was.

"That's not what I'm worried about." I chuckled lightly. Seeing Eve's face relax, I once again turning my gaze to see who had turned up to mine and Lucy's wedding.

I saw Master Bob helping Freed direct everyone to their seats, Mira was sat in the front row looking radiant and next to her was Erza and who I assumed to be Jellal in his Mystogan disguise. Lucy had told me of their extremely complicated relationship, even though he had been cleared by the council 2 years ago he still wouldn't come near FairyTail unless he was pretending to be his Edolas counterpart as he didn't want to endanger Erza or the guild, which was fair enough the man made a living by destroying dark guilds after all. I looked up as I heard a baby crying to see Gajeel taking his seat along with his new little daughter and Lily. Levy must be with Lucy getting ready as she was maid of honour. Seeing Gajeel with his little one brought about an ache in my chest, I'd never thought of being a dad before I'd begun dating my sweetheart. Actually I'd never imagined myself been committed to one person for the rest of my left but here I stood ready and willing to pledge my undying love and live out the rest of my life with the woman of my dreams.

"I'll be right back." I told Eve as I made my way to give Gajeel a hand as he seemed to be utterly lost without Levy to guide him.

"You've got 20 minutes." Eve called after me, I waved at him to acknowledge the fact. I sat next to the slayer and tapped him on the shoulder.

"Yeah?" He grunted, then seeing it was me he scowled. "What d'ya want?"

"I came to see if I could lend a hand." I offered in a 'don't be grumpy' way. The tough and gruff man simply sighed while gently patting the child's back, he looked exhausted and tiny thing didn't show any signs of letting up in her wailing.

"She just won't freaking shut up." He groaned after several minutes. "It's like the minute her mom leaves she decides to play war. And I know she ain't hungry or in need of a nappy change."

"Can I?" I held my arms out to ask if I could hold her. At this point I think several members of the crowd were desperate for the little madam to quiet down, she really was making quite a fuss.

"Sure." He put his hand gently on her head with the other behind her bum and took her from his shoulder and passed her over. The act looked most out of place for the rough dragon slayer, but at the same time completely natural, you could tell who had been enamoured by the newest addition to his family. "Her names Eevee by the way."

"What a lovely name you have, Eevee." I cooed over the tiny bundle. She had the cutest button nose and the largest most curious blue eyes I'd ever seen, which she was currently using to evaluate me with. "Now are you going to stop that awful racket, it's not right for such a beautiful lady to make a scene, especially at her aunty and uncles wedding." I chuckled as she waved her tiny arms around, quite contentedly.

"How did you do that?" Gajeel gasped, as the peace and quiet washed over his sensitive ears. "But no flirting on your wedding day! And not with my daughter."

"I can stop if you like and she will continue to scream?" I teasingly threatened, to which the Slayer went pale. Eve now seemed perfectly content with the world and I had the feeling it was because she was getting to look at her daddy's face and hear him talk along with everybody else.

"Good for nothing playboy." Gajeel grumbled as I handed Eve back to him.

"Just keep eye contact with her and chat a little." I advised the grumbling softy ignoring his comment. "She wants your attention, Daddy."

I left the two to their own devices as I saw the time and made my way back up to the altar which was currently been snowed on by falling sakura petals . We'd decided to hold the wedding under the Magnolia cherry blossom trees, because it was also the spot that I'd proposed in a year ago today. I saw that everyone was seated and I heard the music start to play the traditional wedding march, so I turned my back on the isle and focused on the priest who was standing in front of me.

A collective gasp from the crowd made me turn around see what had caused it and the sight I was greeted with took my breath away.

"Wow." Eve gasped from beside me. I had to agree, I couldn't believe how amazingly lucky I was to be marrying that vision. I couldn't find any words to describe how breath taking Lucy was. She looked stunning in her dress and her face seemed to be sparkling in delight as she was led down towards me on the arm of Master Makarov.

"Take good care of my brat you hear." Makarov demanding in a wavering voice, as he handed Lucy's hand to me.

"I plan to sir," I replied, my eyes glued to my ravishing brides face. My mind went blank for a second as I tried to completely taking in every aspect of Lucy and what she was wearing. I knew she'd told me I'd like the dress but that was an understatement!

"You look dashing." Lucy giggled, giving me the once over. I was still in shock and staring like a fish out of water...why did my charm always dry up whenever this infuriatingly beautiful woman took my breath away?!

"You...look amazing." I muttered, finally regaining a small sliver of control over myself again. I gripped her hand tighter to make sure this was real and that she wasn't just a mirage. Feeling her hand tighten around mine in return was all the answer I needed. She was real and here stood before me waiting to become my wife, just as I was waiting to become her husband. This was going to be a new chapter in our lives, one that was going to be a little less of an emotional rollercoaster and more a gentle stroll in the park...but who am I kidding we're both mages so that'll never happen. Though I do plan to enjoy each day with my celestial beauty as if its my last because I already know the pain of losing her and I didn't want to experience that again anytime soon.

"Thanks," Lucy blushed, bringing me back from my thoughts. "Are you ready Mr Laytis?"

"Of course Mrs Laytis." I grinned, as we turned to face the minister and begin the ceremony. I was the happiest man alive!
