I've been gone longer than I had hoped to be.

Amariah wasn't looking forward to trying to explain how she had kept her Master calm or where she had learned techniques that were not only taught to those older than her but in a different field as well.

Then to add to matters something had happened to her while she had been walking with the Skywalker Twins. She knew that she was being punished for something by someone that wasn't Anakin Skywalker. She had been young, at least younger than she was right now. She had promised something that she couldn't possibly been able to do at the age in the odd experience but the being had allowed her to speak by humoring her than he had slammed her into a wall; again.

Luke had apparently experienced something in the corridor as well but he hadn't really said anything beyond loud wind and his right wrist had briefly bothered him.

Slowly she and the Skywalker Twins made their way into the center of the Council Chamber. She made an effort to meet the gaze of every single member. They just seemed curious on the outside and the simple scan she did with the Force said the same thing.

"Padawan Jaeger," Master Windu began gently, "can you tell us the events that led up to your master's collapse and then in as much detail that you can tell us how you managed to rummage through your master's memories and play them back to him."

Amariah swallowed but kept her eyes on Master Windu.

"I had been reviewing holo recording of myself practicing with my lightsaber. I had noticed a strange discrepancy between the older ones and the newer ones. My lightsaber skills were not improving but declining. Master Skywalker found me reviewing the recordings and offered to help me solve the mystery. At some point during the training exercise he started to gasp for air; when I asked him if he was alright he asked instead 'why is there a bright light in my face?'. At that point I could Sense through our bond that he was in pain and it was getting worse. He started muttering things that didn't make sense." Amariah told the Council.

"Like what?" Master Windu asked.

"One partial one sided conversation sounded like something an expert interrogator would say. I think he asked about a hallucinogenic drug or was responding to someone's question about the hallucinogenic drug. He said that the being under the influence of this particular drug is highly susceptible to suggestions made by others. Apparently if he wished he could claim to be her birth father and she would believe it. However a side effect is heart failure because of the vivid images that are painted in the victim's mind."

Amariah paused for a moment to think and calm herself.

"He said something about someone being clumsy and stupid. For a bit it sounded like he was having a conversation with himself. Most of it was jumbled and I don't have anything to base what he might have been saying.

"At that point I called for help and I knew that I had to calm him because he was thrashing because of the pain he was in. Somehow I knew what to do and this voice was whispering instructions to me. He is the one that told me to replay my master's happy memories although not long after I started he told me to just use the emotions from the memories not the memories themselves."

Amariah stopped as she was assaulted by the memories of being punished for using the whole memories at first. Her façade crumbled as she started to cry.

"He threw me into a wall and when I begged for mercy and tried to volunteer myself to kill a traitor he pretended to agree but said that I was just a foolish child and threw me into the wall again. He promised that he would punish me well for messing with the delicate nature of his loyal slave." Amariah couldn't hold it in as she fell to the floor and started to cry.

She was surprised herself by her behavior. It was as if a door had opened in her mind and she knew a little more of the events that happened after whatever had happened in the corridor had ended.

"Amariah, the man, hurt you he cannot. Describe him can you?" Master Yoda asked gently.

"He's old but not frail or weak. He uses it as a front though to lull beings into thinking him to be weak. I saw him avoid an assassin with the same agility as Lor-" Amariah stopped as her recollections abruptly ended.

She was confused but grateful that her fear of this man was gone; replaced only with the memory of the fear.

Leia Skywalker swallowed as she looked at Amariah who was almost huddled on the floor from the onslaught of whatever she had experienced. She was grateful that she hadn't had an experience like Amariah's but fear danced around the edge of her mind as she considered what might happen to her as she recounted what she had seen in her father's mind.

Amariah had just told them that someone had thrown her around like a toy for messing with the 'delicate nature' of a slave. Leia hoped to never meet the psychopath that did it but things didn't match up like the odd memories she had seen while she was in her father's mind.

"Padawan Leia Skywalker, relate can you what you saw?" Master Yoda asked her.

Leia calmed herself and held her chin high like she had seen her mother do on several occasions.

"What I saw was a jumble of things. One memory stood out and that was my father, Master Anakin Skywalker, was incapacitated and burning alive. A hazy figure watched for a bit before walking away; leaving him there to die. There were a few snippets of different memories that didn't make sense. One of them was of him laid out on a medical table while droids cut into him without much if anything to dull the pain. He was only holding on for my mother. The rest were even stranger; I'm not sure if he was looking at a display or not but it wasn't natural; it reminded me of a helmet's heads up display that you sometimes see for soldiers or something like that. Only one or two were memories of events that I was familiar with."

"What makes you think that your father was viewing most of the events through a display and not witnessing them for himself?" Master Windu asked.

"My father can be capable of many things but cutting down a frightened young man with a lightsaber is one thing I doubt that he would do in his right mind. And I doubt that he would also use the Force to deliberately crush the throat of some military officer. Or stand by as some world is blown to space dust." Leia told them.

"Sense anything from him in these memories?" Master Yoda asked.

"It was as if he was mostly dead inside. He Sensed the fear in the young man as well as the officer but either didn't care or couldn't bring himself to anymore. However the destruction of the planet angered him because there was nothing to gain from it. It wasn't a military target or a lifeless, barren world being used to make a point. Those that live in fear will only stand to live in fear until they are tired of being afraid and fight back." Leia responded.

"Did he touch your mind?" Master Mundi asked, speaking for the first time.

"He did, at first I was worried that he would attack me like he did Master Kenobi but he only probed me and then proceeded to basically ignore me; he didn't give any indication that he recognized me or knew me in any way." Leia answered, slowly lowering her gaze to the floor. It was upsetting to remember that. "He did know me when he woke up though."

"Did you get anything else?" Master Shaak Ti asked gently.

"Someone was asking him or someone else nearby for information on a crime lord; she said that someone had told her that he had information on one. He or someone else replied that he had a lot of information on crime lords." Leia answered promptly. She was forgetting several things but she couldn't remember them.

There was silence again for a few minutes

"Padawan Luke Skywalker, can you further shed light on what your sister or Padawan Jaeger experienced?" Master Windu asked.

Luke swallowed but looked straight at Master Yoda. "While we were headed for the chambers that were assigned to my sister and Amariah Jaeger there was a disturbance in the Force and that was about when Amariah was picked up with the Force by an unknown being that was there but not. She was thrown about ten or so feet only to hit an invisible barrier and fall to the ground. She was afraid of whoever it was and apologized. She said that she would be nothing if she hadn't been discovered on Kosh. She made a reference to an Admiral Groes and his traitorous actions against this person and many of those close to them. She even promised the person the head of Admiral Groes's second and that those that abused their power would rue the day the thought to betray him. It was a little disconcerting to hear how she said that; she was either blindly loyal to this person or terrified of him."

Luke paused for a moment, wishing he still had the guidance of his Master Kira Dasha but she was dead and no longer could guide him. The Council had been sending him out on missions with other older Padawans to see how they were coming. Part of him was hoping to rise to the level of Jedi Knight but he didn't think he was ready yet.

"It was around this time I felt a searing pain in my right wrist and dropped my lightsaber. Something strange happened then because I wasn't in the corridor anymore, I could hear and feel a heavy wind blowing but I don't remember anything else. Then suddenly I was back in the corridor with the feeling that it had been like a cable somewhere had been stretched beyond its limits and it snapped under the stress." Luke told them, feeling a little foolish for saying the part about the cable.

The Council didn't comment though, they just shared looks.

"Meditate we will on what you have said." Master Yoda told them. "For now rest, may the Force be with you."

Luke bowed with his sister and Amariah stood and bowed as well. As a group they left the Council Chamber and returned to the room that they had been assigned to.

Something was wrong but he didn't know what that was or how to fix it.

Kira Dasha is one of my many OCs

Both Luke and Leia had Masters but they are dead and the Council is hoping to promote them to the level of Jedi Knight.
