Chapter 9
Sakura and Hinata continued their training alongside Naruto's own team. For much of the rest of the mouth, and they were finding that life for Naruto's team was much harder than they would have guessed. Naruto's team was pushed non-stop to get better each day. Better shots, faster aiming. As well each one had to keep fit and learn how to fight, both with and without weapons. And now Sakura and Hinata were pushed to same extremes.
But the goals right now for Hinata and Sakura was not the same as those of the others on Naruto's team. For the team, they were trying to assess how to use their abilities in different battle and skirmish situations. They were evening trying out different types of Ammo, based around how their chakra was formed before firing.
Sakura and Hinata were trying something altogether different. Because neither Sakura nor Hinata were even close to combat ready, their task was to try and modify their gun form into a different type of weapon. After all, if they made a mistake, and began to malfunction it would not be a problem as they were not able to be sent out on a mission currently.
Problem was, even if they could now form their gun form without a problem. To modify these forms, was something else entirely. They spent hours trying different things, mental images, and chakra control tests. They even, by order from Anko, allowed Naruto to try and make modifications to their body while in gun form. But nothing worked, though Sakura felt they were close.
Sakura sighed as she flopped down at her desk, at what was now her new home. It was a large apartment near the north western boarders of the Leaf Village. The place had been rather old, when Sakura had first seen it many weeks ago, when she had Naruto had first been placed on Kakashi's team. It was where Naruto had been living.
Now it was home to the entire team, and had gone a rather extensive refit. Much of the building had been gutted, leaving three levels of rooms along the outside walls of a building, and a large central open area. The rooms, on the second and third floor, were turned back into individual bedrooms, to be decorated how their occupant chose.
One on side of the open area was a large kitchen, in the center was a place set up for both meals and mission briefing, and lastly on the other side was medical and maintenance. The other first floor rooms held supplies and other equipment that could be used for missions, practicing, or studying. To be honest it was a ninja's dream house.
Sakura hearing the door open behind her turned in her chair, "Oh hi Sig."
"Hello Sakura," Sig said, a small smile on her face, as she closed the door behind her.
"Need something?" Sakura asked, pretty sure Sig had not stopped by for just a chat, otherwise her other three friends, Ichiroku, Elle and Funko would have come too.
"No, I just wanted to see how you are doing," Sig said the small smile still in place.
Sakura blinked a little surprised but shrugged, "Sure I got nothing to do till dinner. What do you want to talk about?"
"Well I have been wondering how you have been adjusting to become a gun girl," Sig asked, sitting down on Sakura's unmade bed.
Sakura was a little taken aback by this question, "It is okay I guess. I mean, I never thought I would be turned into an actual weapon that someone could use. And the feeling of being used…"
Sakura blushed a little bit as she stopped. The sensation was truly weird and yet so amazing. As their entire body when they were fully changed worked together perfectly. The feel it gave off was almost like absolute pleasure. Not to say it was sexual pleasure, but it was pleasure none the less. Though it would be a dark day indeed before Sakura would admit to liking to be handled by Naruto, and picking off paper targets at two hundred yards.
Sig let out a small giggle, at the, "Yes, it is truly interesting."
"Yes, it is. So intense, I can only imagine what it is like for you when you in full auto mode. Or for Veronica and Galil or Saiga, they have so much power. It kind of makes me feel weak by comparison. I can only put a tiny hole in my targets," Sakura said, her weapon form forming in her hands.
It was small and tiny. The sound it gave off was like a loud pop, in comparison to that of the others. The damage she could do, even to an apple was underwhelming, as she could put a small hole cleanly through it. Where anyone of the others, even the Aelita and Aelira, could cause the Apple to explode when they hit it. Though Anko did confirm that a well-placed shot could still kill someone, even with Sakura's and Hinata's weak rounds.
"Don't worry, you are still getting the hang of it," Sig said, her smile still firmly in place.
Sakura could not help but give Sig an annoyed look. Sig, was the perfectionist of the group. She was able to do hit things, only Veronica was normally able to hit, and with an accuracy to match. She could also do things with her weapon form even the others had difficultly trying. Beheading a bunch of paper targets with a sweep of her gun while firing being one of these things.
"I still don't get it, how are you girls so much more powerful than I am, or Hinata? I mean our chakra levels are the same. Even our ages are almost the same," Sakura said, tossing aside her weapon form, causing it to vanish without a trace.
"No clue. Orochimaru was the maker of the process. But he had hundreds of test subjects, and seemed to know how to control the process. But I am not about to go and ask him how it was done," Sig said, her smile fading.
"I would not asking you to, I am just wondering why we are so different. I mean you would think Hinata would have a form much closer to yours at least. I may not say it too often, but she is a lot stronger and has a lot more chakra than I do," Sakura said.
"That she does, though she is proving to be an interesting person alright. Her ability with the Byakugan, and Gentle Fist Style is giving us a secondary means of fighting," Sig said.
"I heard about that from Funko, though she not say too much about it," Sakura said, "What is it you are trying?"
"Well, while we cannot kill unless we are in full human form. We have found our rounds can shut down Chakra points much like the Gentle Fist Style does. Though problem is only Hinata right now can really make any use of this," Sig explained.
"Well I guess that leaves me as the weakest in our group. And I am the only one who still has to compete in the Chuunin exams," Sakura said a low moan of annoyance and exasperation escaping her lips.
"You will do just fine, though I cannot promise a win," Sig said, the smile returning at this point.
"Oh, you are such great comfort," Sakura said, her voice filling with sarcasm.
"I am glad," Sig said, actually smiling.
"You're hopeless," Sakura said giving Sig a glare.
"No, just enjoying myself, with tormenting and talking with you," Sig said, giving Sakura a small smirk.
"Okay that is it," Sakura said, reforming her gun form and leveling it at Sig, "you are all mine!"
Sig smirk grew as she leapt away dodging Sakura's attack. Not one round landed. The fight did not last too long though as after three shots, Sig had closed in and knocked Sakura down. And before Sakura could recover from the blow as she landed on the ground. She found Sig's gun barrel against her neck.
"My win," Sig said smirking.
Sakura growled and glared up as Sig, "I will get you back one of these days for that attitude of yours."
"I do hope you give me a good fight one of these days," Sig said as the gun in her hand vanished and she helped Sakura up, "As it was, not bad. Your draw was fast, you fired too soon though. Missing with your first shot, after that I was able to close before you could get a good aim."
"Yeah," Sakura said, sighing and sitting down at her desk, and looking about the room, as the holes in the wall repaired themselves.
This kind of small battle was not too uncommon in the house. They were expected to practice as much as possible. Not just at range, but in close combat. As such, every now and again a fight would break out randomly in the house. It would always end within a few moments. Though there had been a rather long match between Veronica and Sig and turned into a Sniper show down, and ended in a draw when both of their sights had been hit at the same time.
Sig smiled as she turned to leave, "Just keep practicing. Who knows maybe you're just looking at it the wrong way."
Sakura sighed, as she heard the door close behind her, "Right looking at it the wrong way."
But as she moved through hand signs, which were used for the jutsu she knew, something she had begun to do as a way of calming and focusing her mind, plus it provided good practice. Sakura stopped as an idea hit her. A small smirk formed on her face as she realized she might have an answer.
"Well Sig you might be right, I am looking at this from the wrong way," Sakura said, as she formed a single sign, "Let's see if this works."
