Hey guys! I'm back with a new chapter because school is starting to get super intense and apparently my brain only wants me to write when I'm incredibly stressed so yay. A few things first! I love getting reviews, and it would really encourage me to write more often if I received some. No pressure though! It's not like I freak out when I hear the email on my phone, thinking that it's a review or anything...*nervous laughter* Anywho! Enjoy

"You don't think that she remembers anything?" Sally questioned as she quickly fixed her straw blonde hair into a neat bun.
Kamau appeared in the mirror behind her. "I didn't say that my dove." He softly rested his chin onto her neck. "She remembers some things, I believe. It seems that she's only getting pieces of her memory back through dreams."
Sally sighed deeply and sank further back into Kamau's embrace. "It doesn't mean that she'll ever believe them. Who's to say she was a good person before this?"Kamau turned his body away from her, retreating towards the window. "What have I said now? You know it's true, my love. You've read her file! And you knew her father, that man was-"
Kamau turned quickly to her, softness was in his eyes. "I know what he was. A true monster. But beautiful things can be born from horrible places." He whispered the last part, only barely registering to his own ears.
Sally was next to him in the blink of an eye, turning his chin up with both of her hands. "Yes, they can be." She looked at him like he held the world and all of its answers, she always had. "Perhaps you're right, what am I saying? Usually you are."
"Just one of the many things you find endearing about me, no?" He began to pull her closer to him.
"I think the word you were looking for is annoying." She sang out against his lips.

The cold of the night didn't even register against Quinn's feet. She thought this was odd at first, a strange memory of the cold seeping into her body. A cold that wasn't like others, as if in her last moments she had been submerged into a frozen lake and was unable to resurface. But she batted this memory away. This was her chance at a new life, one where she could be anything she wanted.
"So my dear…" Evie purred into her ear as they sat atop a building, watching a few people scurry about on the street. They were armed quite well, guns in their arms and stone expressions carved into the face of the two she had seen so far. "Which one do you want?"
Quinn had a burning within, one that she knew could only be sated by blood, but what about violence? "Why not just take them all?" Quinn looked to her right and where her face gently brushed Evie's.
Evie's blue eyes darkened and her sharp teeth glinted in the night. With a sinister laugh she stood and offered Quinn her hand. "That, my dear, is why I chose you." And before Quinn had a chance to ask anything more, Evie disappeared to another corner of the rooftop.
Now alone with her thoughts, she observed as a muscular boy with a strange haircut followed after a girl who was lugging around a rifle. Their backs were to her but she felt a strange tingling creeping up her spine, making her hairs rise. The two others that were with them were clearly from a different group. They wore similar attire and looked much more experienced with their rifles.
Taking a deep breathe in, Quinn honed in on her hearing. The two men were speaking amongst themselves.
"Come on Dan you know that what he's doing is a risk. I mean we don't even know these people!"
"Relax Roger, nothing's going to happen."
"Yeah well when they come into our tents and slit our throats at night you'll be sorry."
"Right, well you keep thinking that way and there won't be enough room for you."
"What did you just say? Are you threating me?"
Quinn could tell by Roger's body language that he was in defensive mode now.
"Look you need to chill out-"
"Where'd those two go?" Roger asked this without looking around, and Dan turned to look for them.
"Aww shit, man I don't know, I told you to keep an eye on-" Dan turned just in time to grab the knife that was almost plunged into his back. And so the fighting began, Quinn watched on in amusement. Clearly Dan was of stronger build but he was no on his back on the ground. Dan managed to knock the knife from Roger's hand and as he reached for it, Roger pulled a pistol from his pants and shot-once-twice-three times.
Quinn frowned at this. The hero always won right? Or it went something like that. But here was this horrible man who just murdered someone who trusted him and for what? Quinn stood up as she heard Evie approach. "What was that?" Evie looked to see Roger wiping the blood off of himself. "Hahaha! Wonderful! There's nothing like a good fight to get your senses up, huh?" Evie looked to Quinn who smiled back and nodded. Evie sensed something was off "What's the matter, love?" She went to push Quinn's hair back when Quinn raised a hand in silence.
"Do you hear that?" Quinn tilted her head to the side, trying to get a better sound to register.
"What would that be? The woman screaming? My dear she just watched two supposed friends fight to the death, of course-"
But Quinn cut Evie off "No. That." Quinn gestured in the general direction of the noise that was coming from off to her left.
Evie smiled then and let out a quick laught. "Huh! You continue to surprise me." She pulled Quinn towards her. "Now are you really going to let it get your kill?"
Quinn ground her teeth together and broke the embrace, heading towards the sound of the female screams that were now being silenced. Instead she heard a pair of quick feet but an even quicker pair right behind.

Rachel Berry always dreamt of doing amazing things. Changing the world and the people in it. However, right now it seemed that she would reach her end. She had always envisioned her death too though. But it was more like people speaking of her accomplishments and their undying love for her, definitely not in a dark, grimy, cold alley way. Maybe this was karma being a bitch, but maybe this was just how it was always going to be.
And with her lungs burning and her legs aching she decided that this chase would have to come to an end. She'd stood up to bullies, why not stand up to a literal monster? So with beautiful hazel eyes in her mind, and the eerie feeling of the creature reaching out for her she ducked, and she ducked hard.
It happened so fast that her mind barely had time to register. She hit the cold street with her knees and back and slid painfully against it. It seemed that at that same moment another monster had decided to attack, missing its mark and hitting her purser. She heard a feral scream but didn't watch on as the monsters tore into each other. She looked back at the way she had been running from and saw Joel sprinting.
"GET DOWN!" He yelled, causing her to jump down again. Within the same second that her body returned to the cold, she heard shots erupt. One creature seemed to be dead, laying limp in the arms of the other as it feasted on its kill. Rachel was thankful for the darkness this time, she didn't want to see what horrors were occurring. The creature stopped and dropped the body, stepping forward to head for Rachel so she began to backpedal. Joel sprinted even faster and the next shot must've been too close or hit the creature because in the quickest movement Rachel had ever seen, the creature sprinted away into the dark.
Joel panted as he held out his hand yet again for her in the same day. "What the hell is wrong with you!? Do you have a death wish or something?"
Once she was standing properly, and examined that she had scraped not only her hands but her side as well she smiled at him. "I guess I just wanted to return the favor."
"What favor!?" He asked in bewilderment.
"You saved us earlier. If you would've stayed where you were it would've killed you both." Rachel stopped for a moment. "Although now I suppose I owe you again for what you just did."
Joel just stared at her in shock and after a moment he shook his head. "You're crazy. Certifiable." When Rachel continued staring at him he broke into a smile. "That's the kind of crazy we need. Let's go, we have to rendezvous with the rest of em."

"You'll get better at it, love. It takes practice, believe me we've all had our share of rough hunts." Evie tried to calm Quinn down.
"So your idea of my first hunt was to just set me free? Not have my back?" Quinn ranted and backed Evie into a wall.
Instead of panic in her eyes, Evie had excitement. "Well I promise you that next time I'll be there with you. We can enjoy many things together Quinn. All you have to do is ask." Evie trailed her fingers down to Quinn's hands. Quinn grabbed them and pinned them above her head. And right before she could move again she heard it. The pounding of feet. Of terrified feet, ones that were lost in this darkness. Lost and left behind.
"What?" Evie ground out.
Quinn looked back into her eyes and smiled cruelly. "One more try alone."

She could see the sweat that was beading up and trickling down his face.
"Guys!" He whispered loudly. "Where are you!?"
He was more or less walking in circles now. It was like a lion against a little lamb, there wouldn't be much of a fight but the reward was more than enough for one.
She stepped out from around the corner then, the moon casting just enough light. The man, Roger, rose his gun up immediately.
"Wh-who are you?" He stumbled over his words, backing away quickly. Quinn only smiled in return. "Stay the fuck away from me!" But before he could dig up anymore threats his foot caught a crack and down he fell. His gun fired and he brought it to where Quinn was but she was gone.
"Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck. Oh fuck." He chanted and tried to claw his way back up but his hand bumped into something. Someone.
"AHAHAH-" He was silenced by a hand on his throat. She stepped around him and lifted him from the ground, hand remaining in place.
"Hello Roger." Quinn said sweetly. She sighed and shook her head, smiling and meeting his eyes again. "If I remember correctly, which I may not because things aren't really coming back to me, you did a horrible thing tonight." There was a gurgling sound coming from him. "What was that?" Quinn inquired sickly. "Oh I'm sorry." She thrust him backwards where is body made hard contact into the ground. "By all means, speak. We have ALL the time in the world. Well, I do. You ya know…not so much."
He groaned and tried to pick himself up. Quinn was above him in a flash. "Ah ah ah. You can speak, NOT stand." She placed her foot on his back and pushed down, cracking sounded from within him.
"AH FUUUCK STOP! GOD STOP!" He cried out to her.
She grabbed him by his throat again. "Is that it? Only a little bit of pain and you're done? You're pathetic. You murdered someone who trusted you."
"And what are you?" He barely spoke around her grip on his throat. "You'll kill the innocent to live too. I may not be innocent but neither are you."
She leaned into his ear, laughing softly. "I woke up with this new life, and I decided something. I'm going to kill every living person I come across. Including you." And she felt his heartbeat increase driving her insane. She dug her teeth into his neck and tore, his screams filling the night air. Blood flowed freely and as soon as it flowed it stopped.
Quinn licked hungrily at her lips and dropped his body to the ground. She brought her dress up to her mouth and cleaned away the remains. She felt a presence next to her and saw Evie smirking. She did a double take before laughing aloud. "What?"
"Oh nothing my sweet." Evie walked in a circle around her, twirling a pair of scissors. "Was the dialogue necessary?"
Quinn smirked back. "Isn't the first one supposed to be special?" She teased.
"So I've always heard." Evie sauntered over towards her. "This dress is ruined I believe. How about we browse for some new ones? My treat?" Evie leaned forward and Quinn quickly snatched the scissors from her.
"I'm thinking I'm due for a new style. If I'm going to be jumping off of building I'd like something other than a dress." Quinn winked and walked off towards the center of the city.

On the outskirts of the city, Rachel, Joel, and the woman from before, Jane, all stood awkwardly and waited for the return of their groups. They heard quiet bickering and Rachel sighed and put her hand up to tell Joel to lower his weapon. "It's Puck and Tina."
"Good to see you too. Not like we almost died or anything." Puck spat.
"You almost died? Try running from-"
"Were those shots earlier from you two? Did y'all split up?" Joel asked as he tried to look around Tina and Puck.
"No sir." Tina said bravely. "One of your men attacked the other."
"What?" Joel ground out. "What do you mean?"
"That crazy fucker, Roger, came at Dan when he had his back turned! Tina and I had gone into a building and then we heard the shouting right before we were about to head out. He killed him in cold blood, with the dude's own pistol!" Puck was visibly shaken by this, Tina reached across and grabbed his hand.
"I don't fucking believe this! I knew I should've left that kid where we found him!" Joel kicked at the ground, anger pouring off of him in waves.
"I'm so sorry sir." Tina spoke up again.
Joel shook his head and stroked his beard. "Just tell me where you last were and-" A gunshot interrupted Joel. They all instinctively ducked down.
"Look man, I know that you knew him and you want your revenge and all but what if he comes back here and leads whatever he's shooting at to us? Then we're all dead. I think the best revenge would be to leave his sorry ass out here and let those things rip him apart." Puck was interrupted by Tina punching him. "Ow, what?"
"Some people are a little more sensitive Puck." She ground out. "But what Puck is saying is true, we can't all be put in jeopardy for him."
Joel looked to the three teenagers who had clearly seen too much for one day and at the woman who was staring off, probably in shock. "Let's head back, he'll get what's coming to him."
They all began to walk back towards the others when they heard the screams. "Karmas a bitch." Jane spoke aloud to the group for the first time.
"Yeah, yeah it is." Puck mumbled.
