Pieces
IX.

Hey everyone P.B.W. here! I wanted to respond to some concerns about Isabel. I'm writing Isabel viewing Mina as a threat, a threat of taking their Sheriff away; this is why she is unfriendly towards Mina, don't worry though because she is starting to put up with Mina's presence. That's why she comes off as more vampric and cold than she does in the television show, but I know that Isabel is friendly and human-loving; don't worry! I'm keeping all characters in character, but situation varying - their characteristics will change. I apologize for any concern it gave you, and I hope this little note dispels any of it.

I am very sorry that I didn't make my quota of two more chapters before Sunday, but to be perfectly honest it becomes very hard to write something that's generally happy when you're depressed - so please, excuse me! And thank you!

Any who, on to the next chapter! Tally-ho!

The next few days were filled with normalcy, or what Mina considered normal even though this normalcy made her heart weep. Whenever Mina would catch Godric's eye, he never smiled at her, not once; his eyes were stony and life-less, his mouth always firm in a straight line, and even his speech was monotonic at best. Mina felt her stomach turning every time he looked at her with those eyes, and she could feel the color leaving her cheeks. Godric was always busy, too busy to deal with her which hurt more. Even when he seemed too busy he would always make time for her, but now? Not so much as a glance sometimes; it was heart wrenching.

Her sleeping pattern matched that of a vampire, rising at night and falling asleep during the morning; her dreams were enough to make a grown man blush, or so it seemed. Godric always laid beside her in bed, completely naked just as she was, and his hands would roam over her form and his mouth kissed or nipped at sensitive areas, even the pad of his tongue ran the length of her body. Heat would coil in her stomach, releasing only when the dream was finished.
She woke from one such dream a few moments ago, and she sat in the bed completely alone; at least in her dreams Godric would stare at her with those gentle eyes and whisper sweet nothings into her ear, reality was a much harsher place. She heaved a deep sigh, scratching along her forearm leaving red streaks in her wake.

"It seems you are up earlier than usual," Mina was used to Isabel coming in to wake her up, something that she considered to be Godric's job, but was now non-important, "did you sleep well?" Isabel came fully into the room, dressed in casual slacks and a simple-floral button down, and in her arms she held a bundle of clothes. Mina nodded as she felt the heat leave her cheeks fully as she stripped off the sheets. Isabel sat down on the bed, which was a first. Mina peered at Isabel's face which seemed less cold than usual, in fact their was a trace of a smile on her lips. She handed Mina the clothes before speaking again, "Godric had these picked out for you." Mina unfolded them in her lap, giving them a queer look before looking at Isabel again, "am I going somewhere?"

"There will a meeting at the house today, more than thirty vampires will be attending - these clothes will help you fit in, a bit better at the very least." Isabel handed her some shoes as well and sat up off the bed, smiling as she did so, "Hugo will be attending as well, you will be able to acquaint yourself - have some human contact."

"Hugo... is your human correct?" Isabel nodded her head and smiled, very slight but it was still obvious, "I'll leave you to get dressed." Once the door closed behind Isabel, Mina stood up and pulled her slip up-and-over her head; shimming on the leather (who wears leather anymore?) pants and pulled her shirt over her head. She didn't know if she could call it a shirt, it was more of a silky-laced corset that showed more than enough of her stomach. The only thing she liked was she wouldn't have to wear a bra with the shirt; she slipped on the two-inch heels before heading to the bathroom to freshen up.

When she left the comfort of her room, Isabel was leaning against the door frame and she gave Mina a once over, "I'm glad everything seems to fit well, follow me." Mina quietly walked behind Isabel before they came into the living room, already a few number of vampires were starting to appear. She noticed Dario, the waiter from The Coven, talking among some other vampires and even Stan was here, which she received a glare for staring at him. The nervousness ran through her like liquor, warming her stomach up and making her limbs shake terribly. She tried to hide it as much as she could and bit down on her lip, grinding it between her teeth.

"You shouldn't do that," Isabel mentioned as she stopped to turn to her, "virgin blood makes vampires stir crazy when they smell it." Heat rushed up into Mina's cheeks as she stopped biting down on her lip, and Isabel smiled stiffly before turning around to walk once again. They reached a chair that was situated by a table and Mina sat down in it without any further instruction. Within moments the house was packed with more vampires that Mina felt entirely comfortable with; her blood pumped in her veins quickly, the nervousness catching up with her. That's when Godric entered the room and everything seemed to still, even she held her breath. He sat on a chair that was placed in the middle of the room, pushed against the wall, and his eyes roamed the room. When they landed on her, his eyes looked to glaze over and his stare burnt holes into her head.

"Welcome everyone, I suppose you are all wondering why you've been called here," there were several hushed whispers, from what Mina could hear, "there have been increased attacks from the Fellowship - at least from what's been reported. They've even started to attack humans associated with us, our humans, friends - some family." His eyes darted around the room, staring at each vampire seamlessly and each vampire seemed to straighten up when his gaze washed over them, "I've called each one of you here because I want to hear everyone's testimonies, they are all important and I know that you've come out of your way tonight to be here. Refreshments will be served, please come forth one at a time. Thank you." As soon as the last words were said, the room went into a frenzy; the talking, the movement - everything made her dizzy. So, she sat there with her ankles crossed and watched wordlessly as the vampires rushed around the room.

True to his word, refreshments were served in the form of True Bloods carried out by woman and men; Mina stared, jaw dropped, as she noticed that the human's necks were covered in bruises and bite marks. Mina stiffened as they came out by her, sending her smiles as they weaved through the crowd. Her heart hammered in her chest and she felt like she was going to be sick, but she didn't want to stand up for fear of falling over so she sat there, completely and utterly fazed by everything happening.

"There's a lot going on, hmm?" A sudden voice next to her made Mina jump in her seat, her knees would've collided with the table if she were facing it. The voice belonged to a man that was at least four heads taller than herself, black hair that was slicked back, and cold, grey eyes. Mina nodded her head mutely, unsure of how to respond. She could feel his gaze shift over her attire, she crossed her arms over her chest as his eyes wandered; he chuckled, "no need to be shy little one, is this your first time?" Mina shivered at his voice, it was cool and calm like Godric's when he was speaking just now. She nodded again, heat fluttered up into her cheeks as she looked away from him which earned her another chuckle, "come now. Let me hear your voice." Mina looked at him from underneath her eye lashes, bashful that this handsome (from what she could easily tell, vampire,) was speaking to her.

"I'm sorry, I'm not sure what I should say." She apologized and felt herself become more embarrassed since her voice cracked slightly, but the smile that came over his lips made her feel uneasy, "um, I should go. I'm sorry." When Mina went to stand up from her seat, she was easily pushed back down by the man. His smile grew and her blood pumped quicker than before, "it's like a pinch, fast and quick. You'll be fine if you relax." He crouched before her, his fangs clicking down from his teeth and she felt stiff, frozen as he neared her. Brushing aside her hair, she moved to block him as she cried out, "stop!" She closed her eyes and pushed back against him, but before she could anything else his hands were gone in a split second.

She opened her eyes one at a time. All the air from her lungs left her as she hurriedly stood up from her chair. Godric stood in front of her with the vampires neck in his grasp, holding him against a table not far away, and she could hear him growl: "She is mine." The room stopped moving and all eyes were on Godric, and the unknown vampire, Mina stepped forward and placed her hand on his arm.

"Godric?" She watched as he dropped his hand from the vampire's throat and turned to look at her. His eyes were still but his arm reached out to grasp hers, his grasp was soft, gentle, and his eyes melted to the warm cerulean green she was used to. His free hand went to the back of her head, entangling her hair in his fingers, and pulled her face towards his. Their lips touched, bodies flush against each other, and as soon as it started, it ended. He pulled back from Mina as her body fully leaned into his, her face burying into his chest; "there was another reason I called you here," Godric cleared his throat, looking down at Mina as she pulled away from his body to stand next to him, "this is my human, she is mine." There were more hushed whispers that went around the room, and Mina watched the faces of vampires vary from surprise, shock, anger, and happiness. Isabel stood by Godric's chair, smiling to herself and to the man standing next to her.

Godric tugged at Mina's arm and led her to his chair, "Isabel, get a chair for Mina please." Mina's eyes couldn't keep track of Isabel's blurred form as she waded through the crowd and brought back a chair for Mina. Godric sat down on his chair and Mina followed suit, dazed and confused about what just happened.

The night dithered on, she watched and listened to the countless vampires that came up to Godric to speak to him. Each time, the vampires would send her some sort of look, whether it be a glare or a nonchalant stare, and left. The mysterious vampire who (Godric said, 'attacked her',) had come up to apologize and give Godric his testimony; the rest of the night went by smoothly, and by two in the morning the house was empty besides Isabel, Godric, and herself.

"That was quite a show Sheriff," Isabel said while laughing, "I didn't know if you'd have it in you."

"Is that why you dressed her in red and black? To match the donors?" Godric asked stiffly, rising from his chair for the second time that night, and looked at Isabel with what Mina could only describe as a cold stare, "that was a dangerous move Isabel, even for you."

"If I hadn't done something, you would've made this poor little thing so terribly sad, you should've seen her. Eyes all red and puffy, she's like a kitten," Isabel stood next to Mina, petting her hair softly and smiled, "she just wants to be played with and loved." Mina blushed and slapped Isabel's hand away, which Isabel only laughed more at, "and if it isn't her Master's than she gets mad." Mina avoided Isabel's stare and looked at Godric, who was staring back at Mina. His eyes were soft once again and he put out his hand for her, which she gladly took, "where are we going?" Mina spoke for the first time to Godric, pursing her lips together as they walked.

"Godric?"She tried again, cocking her head slightly as he led her through the familiar hallways until they reached her bedroom, "Godric?" She whispered again as he pushed the door open and pulled her into the room before pushing her against the door, closing it firmly and loudly. His hands were on each side of her head as he looked down at her, "did I make you cry?" Mina shook her head, confused by his question, "you surprised me tonight, but you didn't - "

"Not tonight," his voice was pleading with her, "last night, or the night before that; did I make you cry?" Mina's heart felt like it was going to explode in her chest at how close his face was to hers, "no. Never, I - "

"What Isabel had said, eyes all red and puffy, what did she mean by that?"

Mina closed her mouth and looked down, "Mina, tell me." His fingers touched her chin and dragged her head upwards so she was peering into his eyes; his other hand pet her hair slowly, the tips of his fingers teasing the shell of her ear, "tell me the truth, Mina." His face came closer, close enough to where their noses were touching, "Mina, darling - " his voice pulled at her heart, "tell me the truth."

"I cried. Once. After you ignored me for the first time, I felt so alone. And scared. I didn't know what to do." Her mouth ran faster than she could think, and she watched as his eyes became softer and softer until he recaptured her mouth with his, "I'm sorry," he said in between kisses, each time more breath leaving her lungs than before until her knees began to shake and she found it hard to keep herself standing. Godric's hands left the door and were placed on her lower back before he lifted her up. Not knowing what to do, Mina's legs nervously wrapped themselves around his hips as her arms wrapped themselves around his neck.

She had this dream before.

Godric had pressed her against the door, his hands roaming down the side of her body before resting on the firm curve of her butt and lifted her up so she could hook her legs around him. He ground against her, the feeling of him against her created friction that she hadn't felt before and it made her cry out for him, cry out his name.

The heat pooled in her stomach and gasped as Godric pulled back, looking at her with glazed eyes, "stop thinking about that," his face was buried in the curve of her neck before she could respond, "those dirty thoughts," Mina felt the heat travel up to her face as he nipped along her vein, "I can still sense your emotions. Lust, want, desire, all of them - stop thinking them," he pulled his face away from her neck and she heard the familiar click of his fangs, "or I won't be able to stop." Another kiss, but this time she could feel his slick fangs press against her lips. He pushed off the door, and fell back onto the bed; Mina was too enraptured in the kiss to notice that they were laying down on the bed, but before long Godric parted from her.

"Sleep Mina, you must sleep." Mina whined slightly, missing the weight of his kiss, but he pushed her back into the bed and whispered it again, against her ear and she felt the sudden pull of sleep, "I'm sorry, but there is something I must do." He placed a kiss on her forehead, and his words lulled her into a dreamful sleep.
