"I choose neither of you," His mind was already full of stress. It was already getting into him. The Yamai twins couldn't believe what they heard. "Both of you keep trying to get it out of me but I can't take a single more argument…"

Shido seems to have gotten broken down. His train of thoughts came to a complete halt due to all these inquiries they keep insisting from him. Sweat trailed down the nape of his neck and he felt a chill go down his spine. What exactly is happening?

There was one variable he knew about though. He knew for himself that his answer has just cut all the loose ends.

Regretting his words, he tried to speak out. "K-Kaguya, Y-Yuzuru… I—"

Neither one of them gave him a chance to speak. The wind felt stronger and colder as they both gazed at him. "After all those times we did…" Kaguya gave a slight glare that shot Shido. "You thank us with this?"

Why did Shido have a bad feeling about this? It was like the reality he thought was true was slowly crumbling right before him. His gut kept saying that they aren't the Kaguya and Yuzuru he knew right now. Could his ridiculous guess he made months ago actually be true? Were they really the two childhood friends he knew? They were changing… and they were changing fast!

The next speaker was the colder of the twins. "Demand. Shido, you must choose between us or else we'll never end this quarrel," Yuzuru's usual cold voice turned into words full of spite. "Answer us before we insist even more."

No one in the park minded the argument they were having. In fact, it seems like all people previously playing around the park has gone away. Shido had to keep his point solid though. Once an action is done, it cannot be reversed or replaced.

"Well you two," Shido kept his cool and hid his hyperventilation. He encountered Spirits and has encountered disastrous arguments like this before so he had to show that his experience is not for naught. "From everything that has transpired, I really cannot make a decision of whom I like more. Both of you seem equal for me so—"

*Snap*

Suddenly being blinded by whatever made that sound, he rubbed his eyes to get rid of it. Shido had no idea where that sudden sound came from but he knew it couldn't be good. He faced the twins once more but instead of meeting their gaze, Urasashi was right in front of him.

He was expecting the gaze of the twins but they have just vanished! If they weren't here anymore, where could they have gone?

A strong breeze passed through the horizon as he met with Urasashi. "I'm sorry for this, Shido," The mid-aged man shook his head in pity as he neared Shido. "I haven't told you the true story of the Yamai twins… You deserve the truth."

The truth? Shido started thinking to himself as he continued nearing him, what connection does he have with the disappearance of them in the first place? Did he have some sort of role to them that I don't know?

The park, now empty, only had Shido and Urasashi in it.

Shido felt a lump in his throat, as if he had a bad feeling about where this encounter is going. He slowly rummaged through his pocket for his cell phone. This plan was futile when Urasashi stopped him from grabbing his phone. His anxious conscience made him want to talk to Kotori about this but judging from the slightly rough winds, the signal just might be cut.

Shido was cornered into a nearby tree. "W-What is it that you need to say, Urasashi-san?" He hid the trembling feeling he had just so it wouldn't show fear. "What exactly do you mean their true story? They never hide anything from me and I was likewise."

"Tsk, tsk… Shido, Shido…" Urasashi began shaking his head side-to-side but all the pity he had was gone. Now he seemed to be more serious as he gazed at Shido with his droopy eyes. "You know nothing about them. All of your life is just an inescapable delusion. They aren't really what you think. Also, meeting me while you were all young is no coincidence. They have a past you know. You were all kids and so, they forgot about it."

That speech alone shot Shido. Urasashi suggests that the twins have some sort of mysterious past that he never knew about. Shido trusted the twins dearly but he also trusted Urasashi almost as much. A heated debate of trust was in play. Is he supposed to actually believe what he says? It could even be a trick.

"No, they would never try to lie to me about their past." Shido went with a slightly blunt comeback.

"How could they even lie if they forgot about everything? In all honesty, I'm not what you think either. I was the one who found them suddenly in the fields, so I am their real foster father… not Kazuya," His confession took Shido by surprise. "I gave it to Kazumi just because I knew myself well and knew that I am unable to care for children at that time. My 20's were my hard years after all."

Shido noticed the lie in the last parts of his story. Previously, Urasashi would have just become relaxed and laidback about his job and future while he was in the 20's. He said it himself once while he was renting skates in his childhood. The winds started to subside, leaving him at least time to think.

Ultimately, the only possible way out of the situation is to make an excuse. "I-I better go Urasashi-san. I should start looking for Kaguya and Yuzuru. I'll be taking my leave now." The latter didn't try to stop him. He let him pass but a crooked grin was spread across his face.

Shido left the park and he knew in himself that he had to apologize to twins.

While walking, he attempted to call them numerous times but all those attempts had no response. All this did was increase the worry of Shido. He then started brisk walking just so he could at least get there faster. The house wasn't far from the park so it won't take long. It only takes time when it is raining.

Minutes passed and he finally arrived at his block. He arrived earlier than usual just because he started running back there. His worry for the Yamai twins was great, making him barge in their house. Fortunately, their foster-mother knew about him well.

After gaining permission, he headed upstairs and knocked on the door. That was the door their room. He would usually go there if he was either looking for them or if he wanted to at least converse with them. No one responded to his constant knocking though. After feeling a bit paranoid, he turned the door knob and surprisingly, it was open!

No one was in the room and so, he started scanning around. All he found was a letter on top of the desk. Curiosity took over and he decided to read the letter.

His face was full of devastation as he read the content of the letter.
