A/N: I decided to update early for my dedicated readers. I hope you all enjoy. (I also figured everyone had more time to read on the weekend, so...) Anyway, here you go. Feel free to speculate on what happens next! Thanks for all of your reviews and I'll try and respond to them eventually.

"Margaret, meet your son whom you've wanted to see for thirty years," the man responded with a smile as he shoved Colby into the room, pushing him forward onto the floor. "If he's a good boy, you might get a little bit of dinner. It's morning now, we're leaving at night fall." He slammed the door shut with a vibrating bang.
The woman turned and looked at him. "Colby?" she asked with a quivering whisper.
"Margaret?" Colby said, his voice a low pitch. He'd never been so surprised. When he'd learned that Don was his birth brother, he had felt a hollow, empty feeling – his chance to meet his mother was gone.
"I can't believe they kept your name," she said, sinking down to the floor. "I can't believe you're even still alive… that I can see you…"
Colby swallowed hard. "I'm sorry," he said as he, too, sat on the floor. "He kidnapped you, because I was born."
She waved a dismissive hand in his face. "Colby, don't believe that for a minute. He kidnapped me because I remembered who he was. He's just trying to make you live in a pool of guilt." She paused. "Do you know my sons? Don and Charlie Eppes?"
"Yeah," Colby said as he leaned back against the wall. "I… I actually work with them. Don is now the Special Agent in Charge of the Las Angels FBI Violent Crimes Squad. Charlie consults for us."
Margaret threw him a look of surprise. "How did that happen? When… right before… they fought, frequently."
"I guess they've made up now," Colby said, his face in a sad frown. He couldn't think but help of Don and Alan's first rejection of him. At least now he knew why. "They get along really well."
She just shook her head. "I never thought I would see both of my sons consult for the FBI." She frowned.. "Wait, and you work for the FBI, too?"
"Yeah, Don is my supervisor," Colby explained. It felt… awkward, having this conversation with the woman who was apparently his mother. She matched the pictures in the Eppes home. Colby swallowed hard. If it hadn't been for me, Don and Charlie wouldn't have gone through the pain of losing their mother, he thought bitterly.
"Ah, it serves me right," Margaret said with a smile. "I don't know how much you know my husband Alan, but we used to protest police involvement when we were younger. I'm sure that life is paying us back for that." She smiled at him. "So, Colby, tell me about your life."

Megan groaned as she slammed her hand on the printer. Charlie raised his eyebrows. "That good, huh?" he asked.
"It's not working. Again," Megan responded as she looked at the blinking red light. "And I have to run this information to Don. I ran Colby's DNA against the suspect in the rape case of Margaret, and it matched."
"I think it's out of paper," Charlie said as he glanced at it and moved some paper next to the stack. "It happens all the time at our college." He sighed. "I still can't believe I'm related to Colby."
"Didn't he tell you?"
"No," Charlie responded with a frown. "I think he might have been going to, when that man came in, but not before then." He sighed. "I don't even know how I'm supposed to feel, Megan. I mean…I know his childhood wasn't the best, and I'm sorry for that, but he was supposed to be my brother… All this time he was supposed to be my brother." He lowered his voice. "Don said that Dad told him that he actually told my mother to commit abortion, but she refused."
Megan wasn't sure what to say. She hoped that Colby didn't know that part; she already knew he felt bad enough about the supposed pain he'd caused the Eppes family – none of which was his fault. "I can't really tell you how to feel, Charlie," she said with a sigh as the printer worked. "I think we're all in a little bit of shock right now. I mean, you, me, David, Don – Colby never even told me he was adopted."
"I only knew it because he told me during a really bad case," Charlie said with a shrug. He checked his watch. "Larry is in the middle of doing his escape terrain algorithim and I'm running something on the computer that should help us track down some stuff. Do you have the guy's name? We could analyze property searches."
"Yeah," Megan said. "Here, this is your copy. I'll brief you later, but right now I really need to talk to Don."

"How's your ankle, David?" Don asked as he pulled up the information on the screen. "Are you sure you don't need-,"
"Don't even mention it, Don," David said with a wave of his hand. "Really, it was not a through-and-through, it was a scratch. Annoying, stings, but nothing compared to what I'm sure Colby's going through." He paused at that. "Don, what happened in there?"
Don exhaled slowly. "He told Colby the circumstances under which he was born."
David waited through Don's silence. His boss would continue if he wanted too, but David didn't want to push the subject. The situation was tough enough as it was.
"When you told me that Colby had DNA proof, I went to my father," Don responded as he leaned back against the chair. "I demanded to know what had happened. Why there weren't any other pictures in the photo albums. Why we never knew about it. He said that my mother was raped, that's why Colby was born, and Colby was kidnapped when he was one. I must've been four at the time. Charlie wouldn't have been born yet, which is why he didn't remember anything. I asked Dad why they never told me, and I guess I had started to ask questions and they stopped answering, and here I am, thirty-five years later, with a brother that I never knew that I had."
"Do you know who kidnapped Colby when he was one?"
"That's the thing. I don't know how much Megan already told you, but the guy who was pulling the hostage stint was Colby's birth father. He knew that Colby would be DNA against him, so he grabbed Colby when he was one. Then, all these years later, Colby makes his way back to LA and so does this guy…"
"Colby finds out who his birth family is, the guy starts getting antsy, and grabs him again." David winced. "Hey, Megan, any news?" he asked as she came into the room.
"We have a name," Megan responded as she handed the printout to Don. "He has six different places of residence, which Charlie is analyzing right now for the best possible hideout. I think I found out why he abducted Colby even though the rape statute of limitations is over – he's in the process of being investigated of rapes for eighteen other women, including three within the last six months."
"And if they can prove that Colby is DNA evidence that he did rape Margaret, then it would look really good in the trial that he might have raped the other girls, too," David responded.
"That explains why he took Colby even though the statue of limitations is up on your mother's case," Megan responded.
Don just shook his head. "Damn, this case just keeps getting better, doesn't it?"
