UPDATES/Author's Note: So guys it's been a long while I know. I've been injured (I have Ulnar Nerve Entrapment in BOTH my arms, but it's gotten a lot better since I've been wearing braces while sleeping and limiting my typing) and school…let me tell you…I wanna quit now. It's been taking up most of my time, but hopefully that will change soon.

Chapter 9

Dean woke up from the giant, down, bed he'd been put in for the past few days and puked. He'd felt so sick, like a thousand butterflies were doing the Macarena in his stomach, for the past forty eight hours. This had been the third time Dean had puked from whatever infection the cuts had given him and he felt surprisingly worse every time. He felt bad about wrecking Jody's floor too, but she didn't care. In fact ever time he did puke she didn't ever say a word. She simply smiled sympathetically at him, got her cleaning supplies, and cleaned up the mess before sitting down on the edge of the bed and rubbing in between Dean's aching wings. Dean had grown quite fond of the room he'd been put in. The walls were a light tan that complemented the sunlight when it shone in through the clear glass windows with six frames, six exactly, Dean had counted them every day to make sure it wasn't all a dream. The curtains on the windows were sea green and the floors tan carpeting. The bed was memory foam complete with a brown and white down comforter, thick, comfortable pillows, and warm sheets.

Dean's little green eyes cracked open when her hand touched the small of his back. She smiled warmly and Dean nuzzled her hand as it caressed his cheek, checking his fever. He chirped deep in his throat.

"You're doing much better baby," Jody cooed and smoothed Dean's hair back. "Much, much better."

"J-Jody?" Dean asked urgently.

"What is it honey?" Jody replied, jumping in alert.

"I feel sick again…" Dean held his stomach, he feared he wouldn't make it in time, but Jody swiftly picked him up and took him to the toilet. Dean hunched over and puked until he could puke up no more. He shook and Jody, after flushing the toilet, picked him up into her arms and rocked him. Dean whimpered and snuggled into her chest.

"Nasty, nasty infection," Jody sighed and rubbed Dean's back. "We're gonna get you better again little baby don't you worry, my little baby."

It felt good to be called someone's "little baby" again. Dean hadn't been called that since his mother had been alive. Dean felt almost as if Jody could possibly have magic in her, he always felt so much better when she was around. He half expected her to unveil a realm of magic within her one day and just reach out, healing every single one of Dean's infected cuts and his broken insides as well. It was true, Dean was broken inside. He'd been broken ever since John died.

"Hush little baby don't say a word," Jody danced around slowly, rocking Dean, and rocking him some more. "Mama's gonna buy you a mocking bird…"

"Mama?" Dean asked, pointing at Jody.

"What, no sweetie, I'm not," Jody stammered and then sighed again. "I'm not your mama."

"And if that mockingbird don't sing, mama's gonna buy you a diamond ring…"

"Then stop lying to me…" Dean thought to himself.

Dean had learned a lot over the course of that week. He'd healed too, almost completely, but not quite. Dean had learned that Jody's "work" closet filled with weapons from the police force was off limits to him and Sam. He'd also learned that Jody had once had a son and a husband, but both of them had died in a horrible car accident involving a drunk driver. Dean didn't know what a "drunk driver" was, but he sure hoped he'd never encounter one. They sounded big, hairy, and terrifying.

Dean had also learned that Jody was a good friend of Bobby Singer's. The same Bobby who'd taken in Castiel and Gabriel. Dean's little heart pounded when he thought about Castiel and he also felt a familiar coil of warmth down near the base of his stomach. That was almost impossible; it wasn't time for his heat yet? Castiel, now, just seemed to have that effect on him. He'd heard that Bobby, Gabriel, and Castiel were coming to visit them in three days and Dean, he could hardly wait.

Sam had spent some of his time learning things about Jody and the house they were staying in, but some of it had been spent trying to get through the last few days of an agonizing heat cycle. His had never been as bad as Dean's, but they still plagued his everyday life since he preferred the use of toys and his right hand as opposed to heat suppressants. He'd heard of Alphas getting addicted to those things and didn't want to risk it. Jody had understood and given Sam the privacy he'd needed, but the thought of Gabriel, that was making his heats even worse. Gabriel didn't experience them as often as most Alphas and Omegas did because he was an archangel. So even if he'd arrived early nothing would have come of it anyway. It was wrong to try and mate an Omega while they weren't in heat, Sam knew that, but it was often times hard to deny basic instinct. He was too young to have sex, he knew that as well, but there had been a fascination on the subject that he'd yet to ask anyone. So he figured until he was of age to do that sort of thing, he wouldn't bother asking and just take care of it himself.

A few days after the first week was up, Dean's fever had broken and he'd actually been able to get out of bed. He'd been reading and playing with some toys Jody hadn't given up yet that had been her son's. Jody had been very motherly towards him and Sam, feeding them three squares meals a day of healthy food, bathing them, tucking them in at night and singing to them, and spending time with them. Dean appreciated every second of it as did Sam and the two brothers couldn't possibly have been happier.

Not until, that is, when Gabriel and Castiel arrived with Bobby. Castiel had run over to Dean, his wings shaking in excitement, and hugged him hard. He'd nuzzled his cheek and kissed some of the cuts. Dean had chirped and nuzzled back, his wings coming out in a dominant display of white feathers above Castiel's black ones. Sam and Gabriel had done the same gesture, chirping and displaying of wings, nuzzling too. Bobby and Jody both smiled, finding it extremely cute.

Bobby stayed for four days and within those four days, Castiel and Dean and Gabriel and Sam had been inseparable. They hadn't slept in the same rooms for obvious reasons, but other than that they'd been together every second of all four days.

"I think they're mates." Jody had whispered, watching Dean and Castiel play in close proximity of each other before snuggling up on the floor and napping together.

"Them too," Bobby smiled and pointed to Sam and Gabriel who were out back playing on Jody's son's old swing set. "Aren't they all just precious."

"I suppose you heard about John…" Jody sighed.

"Not much," Bobby sipped his coffee. "Just tell me which hospital he's at and I'll go visit the poor bastard."

"Bobby," Jody said, lowering her voice even more. "John's dead."

"How," Bobby almost choked on his coffee, sputtering and coughing. "John yah damn idjit, rest your soul. I suppose you're…?"

"Keeping them," Jody asked. "I will certainly try, but with my job I don't know how I'll be able to. I've taken all my sick leave in these past few weeks."

"Maybe I could take em after awhile," Bobby sighed and looked over at Dean and Castiel. "Just until things get back to…as normal as it gets."

Bobby and Jody talked mostly about Sam and Dean for the rest of day until Bobby and his angels had to leave. Castiel and Gabriel took their time saying their goodbyes, hugging and kissing Dean and Sam on their cheeks before walking out to their car to go home and as the sun begun to creep out from behind the clouds Dean and Sam watched them drive away. It was different this time though, it wasn't bittersweet because at least this time they knew they'd see them again.

Read and Reviews are always appreciated! I love them and I read every single one, promise!
