Derek paced the floor anxiously. Scott had called him earlier stating that he needed to talk with Derek about Stiles, but had mentioned nothing more on the subject. To say that Derek was worried about the human was a bit of an understatement. He wasn't just worried about Stiles he was worried about Stiles' new friend and more importantly Stiles' relationship with said friend and what consequences may come of it. Now that Derek knew the whole story of the supernatural world, his eyes were opened to many possibilities about the strange boy, possibilities that were worse than he could've imagined.
Derek had his own suspicions about Stiles, but had not voiced them due to lack of creditability and to the fact that he hoped that none of them were true. There was something endearing about Stiles' being human. But whether or not the boy was actually the Adonai was for future problems and would be dealt with in the future. Facts came first and Scott had facts; at least Derek hoped he had facts. Baby steps, number 1: Find out what happened to Stiles, and number 2: Get him back.
The sound of footsteps reached Derek before Scott did and Scott barely had time to open the door before Derek pulled him inside and started questioning him.
"First thing first, what do you know for sure? What are the facts?"
Scott took a breath and collected his thoughts. "Okay, what I know for sure is that Stiles has been missing for days, he didn't show up for Lydia, and he left with Slade."
Derek nodded and leaned against the table. "Slade. This all can definitely track back to Slade. Do you have any idea of what he is?"
Scott shook his head. "No, I really don't. I can't put my finger on it but he's definitely weird."
The alpha sighed and contemplated telling the young wolf about the new information he acquired. Maybe Xander could tell them who Slade was or rather what he was, but if Derek was correct in assuming that Stiles was indeed the Adonai, then what would happen to Stiles? Would the Fariaes take him away? Is that the right choice? How was he supposed to know any of that without Stiles there to talk to? If he could only find him, then he could talk to him and find out what he wanted or didn't want.
"Derek?"
Scott's voice woke him from his internal battle. Scott's voice held concern, like always. Derek knew that Scott deserved to know about everything, even Derek's own suspicion.
"Scott, there's something you need to know."
Scott's face was creased with the burden of his newly acquired knowledge. He just nodded his head during the whole history lesson and prophecy. Derek had waited till the very end to mention Stiles.
"I think, from what Xander told me, that Slade is either a Fariae or an Incubus. The thing is that Slade and Xander smell different so I'm not sure that Slade is a Fariae which means—"
"That he's an Incubus." Scott finished Derek's sentence while piecing the pieces together.
Derek nodded, "And that's a problem because the two species are at a cold war with each other and we have a Fariae, but an Incubus has Stiles."
"So what do we do?" Scott asked looking up to the older man. "How do we Stiles back? I mean do you think he knows? Do you think, you think that maybe he chose to go with Slade knowing already? That he wanted to go, that he just left us behind?"
The alpha shook his head. "I don't know. There are just too many scenarios right now. The only thing I do know is that we have to find him. We have to talk to him."
"Whoa, wait a minute, training? Just like that? You just want me to dive into this like some kind of hero character in a bad comic book?" Stiles' mouth was hanging unbelievingly at the two incubuses.
Isis shifted on her feet. This wasn't exactly the reaction she had expected, although now thinking about it the boy was right. She cleared her throat, "Well, um what did you have in mind? You do need the training."
Stiles continued to gap. "What? Now? I mean I have a life you know. I have family and friends and school. I have a Literature test coming up and Scott and my dad what do I tell them? 'Hey guys going off to train to become a supreme Lord! See ya around!'"
"Stiles," Slade took a tentative step forward, "we have…ways to correct such things. We can make your previous life disappear, it would be as though you had never existed in that world."
Stiles stepped back. "Are you telling me that me dad would forget about me? Like I was never born? So you're just gonna erase my existence and I'm supposed too be okay with that?"
Slade opened his mouth to respond, but Isis held up a hand. "Stiles, your old life is gone regardless. This is something bigger than all of us. You can't keep playing student and son when you have a whole kingdom to rule."
"Rule? I though the prophecy just called for me to bring peace and guidance to the supernatural world?" Stiles threw his question as more of a fact.
This time Isis really didn't know what to say. "Well, yes. But Stiles don't you intend to rule?"
The Adonai shook his head. "I don't think I need to rule. Gandhi, one of the most influential men of the human world never sat on a throne, yet he accomplished more than kings and had millions of people following his teachings. I am here for the aid of all the supernatural beings not just for one species. I am not here to bring power to anyone, not even myself. I am here to stop the wars and to bring peace."
"But Stiles you said you always felt you were more than human, that you craved power." Slade reminded Stiles of when he first found out about his power.
He nodded. "You're right, I do want to be powerful. Do you know why? Because every time one of my friends were in danger, I could do nothing but stand there and hope another werewolf who was stronger than me helped. Because I had to see innocent people die and know I couldn't do anything to save them. I was powerless, but now I'm not and I won't use my power in the wrong way. I don't want a war; I don't want people to die and I do not want the supernatural world to be at each other's throats. I have spent much of the last years trying to fix the issues that power-hungry douche bags cause and I will not be one of those douche bags." Stiles shook his head. "Look right now I don't want to train. Right now I want to go home. I want to see my dad; I'm all he has."
This chapter is really short and not exactly up to par T-T but I'll do better next time I promise. I'm happy that people are still following this though and thank you guys for the favorites and stuff even though I always take forever to update.
I think I'm having a hard time choosing which direction to take this... so please bare with me...
