"Mom?" I ask as I walk down the stairs to the lab.

"Don't come down here, sweety. It's not safe! Give me a minute and I'll be right up!" I sit at the top of the stairs and watch as she finished up what was probably a time-sensitive project, otherwise, she would have set it down to come to see what I needed. Her hood is pulled up and she's facing away from me, so I can't see her face. I hope she's not annoyed that I'm bothering her this late at night. She works so hard. I want to be like her someday. I look over at my parents biggest project, the Ghost Portal. It's going to be great when they get it to work! They've spent so many years on it. I feel a hand on my head and look up at my mom as she takes her hood off.

"What did you need, Danny?" She asks, sitting next to me and knocking my bangs away from my eyes.

"I had a nightmare." She pulls me into a hug and carries me back upstairs. Once I'm tucked back in, she starts singing my favorite lullaby. It's one that she came up with about hunting ghosts. She refuses to leave my side until I'm asleep again.

There were other times she helps me. She's picked me up and cleaned my wounds when I fell and times where she cheered me on when I needed it most. She's a great mom and I have tons of cherished memories with her. It's a shame she's only useful as a pawn now. In a few days shell be dead and my plan can really begin. As nice as my memories are, she only stands in my way now. She has to go. She's a threat now. Maybe I'll let Jack live. He's not a threat. Hell, he'd probably help me if I asked him to. He's not very smart. I wonder how long it would take him to realize he was helping his son murder people. I can't help but laugh at the thought. I look down at Jazz as she sobs. She probably thinks I'm coming up with ways to kill our mom.

"We'll be home soon, Jazz. Wipe away your tears. I need mom to think I'm still her baby boy. That I still need her help. So smile, I'm your brother. We're only bringing her to safety." She'll be safe until she isn't useful anymore. Everyone is safe until their use runs out.

"She won't be safe for very long with you! You're not my brother! You're a monster!"

"Yeah, but I'm a monster who's also your brother."

"She'll see right through you. You may look like Danny, but you can't act like him!" I grab her face and force her to look at my face.

"I am Danny. I still have my memories. I know how I used to act. I had everyone fooled I was still my happy go lucky self for a long time now, longer than you'll ever know. She won't be able to tell the difference unless you tell her, but if you tell her, I'll kill her and that would be on you. Do you want her to die because you're an idiot?" She shakes her head no and I push her away from me. "Then you'll do as I say. Let's go." Everyone has a purpose, too bad my families is almost done. I open the door to our house and Jazz hesitantly makes her way to the lab.

"Mom?" Jazz asks.

"Don't come down here! It's not safe! Give me a minute and I'll be right up!"

"It's important, " I say, staring down at my mom as she works. "We need you now. It can't wait." I don't even have to look at her to know Jazz is glaring at me with tears in her eyes. She wipes her tears away as mom races up the steps to us.

"What's wrong, sweetie?" She asks, cupping Jazz's face in her hands.

"There's a really bad ghost running around. He's a murderer. Mom, you have to stop him!" She sobs.

"What ghost is it?"

"It's Phantom, " Jazz whispers.

"He's lost control, " I say before Jazz can give me away. "I think another ghost has possessed him."

"Oh God! Kids, stay here! Jack!" Mom pushes us aside as she calls up to dad.

"Mom, you should leave dad here. It's too dangerous. He's not a good shot. You should take Jazz and me instead. We've been practicing. I think we stand a pretty good chance of taking him down ourselves. Dad would just get in the way." My father might be an idiot, but even he would know what I was up to the second I went to kill one of them. Two on one I can handle; three on one might prove to be too much. She stares at us, probably debating who she wants to take with her; us or dad.

"Ok, but you both have to do exactly as I say!" We both agree, though Jazz clearly looks upset. Mom luckily overlooks her daughter's sullen expression and we head out to the RV. "Where's Phantom at?" She asks and I step forward and transform from her baby boy to her worst enemy.

"Right here, mom." She turns around with a look of fear and points a weapon at me, but she ultimately puts it down. She won't kill her son.

"Danny?" She asks with a fearful and sad tone and I nod.

"I'm sorry we had to play this game to get you out here, but I feared you wouldn't play with us otherwise. Take us to Vlad, please, or someone in this car is going to die." After a moment of hesitation, we're on our way.

A/n I do not own Danny Phantom. I went back and fixed all spelling and grammatical errors. I'm hoping to bring every story close to being finished to a close, so I'll be fixing every story as I post the next chapters to them.
