Diamond Dust
Author's Note: This will only be a short chapter intending to give way for Tomoyo's story by the next one. Yep. You'll know the reason on the cold war between Sakura and Tomoyo.
Disclaimer: CCS was, is, and will never be mine. That's why I always thank CLAMP for making Sakura, Syaoran, Tomoyo and everyone else in CCS.

Chapter 9
-Syaoran's POV-
INT. Syaoran's room—7:15 PM, 19th of September 2008, Friday.
It was already dark when I got back home. After putting my bag to the chair, I let myself drop to my bed. To this dark room in which the light I only had is coming from the moon, I have myself thinking whatever happened this whole day. But thinking about those would just ruin me.
I decided to take my sword which was on top of the shelf. Unsheathed it straight in front of me and swung it to the side without making a movement except my right arm.
Don't think.
"I like you." Something spoke to my mind.
I swung it again in front of me. Then pulled it and made my two fingers from my left hand touch the handle slightly as I lifted my right knee.
Don't think.
"Can we have lunch together?" The voice echoed in my ears once again.
Lunging the sword as my right foot step forward. I crossed my arms and slashed the air. Then I made a step forward with my left foot in which my left arm did the same as I moved the sword on top of me.
Yes. Calm down and don't think.
I had the blade of my sword slowly touched my left index finger.
"To Eriol. I went to his flat, k."
"Aw." It was my careless mistake for getting a cut.
I dropped my sword on top of my bed and looked for my first aid kit. Applying a little disinfectant, I picked up a band aid for the cut.
Then, I heard a small knock. "You can come in." I said for I know that it was Wei-san.
"Syaoran-sama," he started. "Tomorrow's a weekend. Do you already have plans?"
"I have. I promised someone. Can I ask why you ask?" I replied.
"Actually, your mother called. She wanted to visit a company that is trying to get a partnership deal."
"Is that so?"
"Yes. Would you call Madaam by yourself?"
"Wei-san, please be the one to call Hahaue in my place. I'll be resting for a while." I asked a favor for I think I couldn't talk much to anyone right now. (hahaue = mother (with the highest respect))
"As you wish, Syaoran-sama." Wei bowed and closed the door upon exiting my room.
By the time I saw the door was closed, I went to my bed and laid again. I placed my right forearm to cover my eyes from the moonlight. Yeah. It was indeed a tough day for me.

INT. Staircase—8:20 AM, 19th of September 2008, Friday.
"Let's not talk about it. After all, it's none of our business." I said with a slight emphasis on the phrase 'none of our business'.
Takashi-san who still wasn't able to apply some medication on his injured foot stretched it to relax. "You know Li, you don't have to pretend to be cool, to be indifferent on the situation. I quite know that you're also intrigued about what you've heard."
"Wha-"
Takashi-san covered my mouth to shut. "You can go back. I can handle myself. Also…"
"Yamazaki!" A shout came from the hallway.
"See. She'll be going straight here." Mentioning Mihara-san as if he already know what would happen any minute.
I removed his hand capturing my mouth. "Fine, Mr. Know-it-all."
"Are you annoyed on what I said?" he asked.
"Beats me." I replied. Then Mihara-san approached us as she saw that we were in the staircase.
"What the two of you doing here? Didn't you go to the infirmary? Yamazaki, you idiot! Aren't you injured? Shouldn't you supposed to be resting in a bed and not here?" It seemed like Takashi-san was flooded by questions and lectures by Mihara-san. This was why I left the two of them alone.

INT. Class 2-B room—12:00 PM, 19th of September 2008, Friday.
The bell rang as a sign of our lunch break. Takashi-san and I were about to go to the cafeteria to buy break when we saw Kinomoto waiting outside the room.
"I've finished my work in the Council yesterday. So can I join your lunch?"
I felt that we were attracting too much unwanted attention so I instinctively hold Kinomoto's left arm and dragged her outside where no one can see.

INT. Fire exit staircase—12:03 PM, 19th of September 2008, Friday.
Here's fine. I thought. Then, I noticed I was still holding her arm. "Sorry." I apologized as I pulled out my hand.
"It's okay. Actually, it's my fault to come unannounced." She smiled innocently. "As I was saying earlier, can we have lunch together? I mean- together with your friends too." She laughed on what she just said.
"I think it's fine." I looked at Takashi-san who followed us here. "We can, right?"
"Hmm," he answered it neither a 'yes' nor a 'no'.
When I trailed what Takashi-san was looking, I saw Kinomoto carrying two obento—the larger one was covered in a green cloth while the other was pink. "Ah, also I made your lunch. So if it's not too much to ask, can you have a taste of it?"
"S-sure." I was quite shocked.
"Um, Li," Takashi-san called out. "I think both of you should have lunch together—just the two of you."
"Eh?" was the only thing I could say.
"Well, you see. Chiharu was pestering me earlier how she woke up late and didn't find the time to make her lunch. So we'll be dining in the cafeteria."
"Is that so? But we can-"
Takashi-san interrupted me. "Isn't it quite rude to bring an obento in a place where they too sell food?" I found his point to be true. "Well then, see you later Li." He retreated.
"Um, Kinomoto, um, so where do you want to eat?" I asked my remaining companion.
"I think it's fine here."
We both took a seat on the stairs. Kinomoto then gave me the green bento. Looking inside, there were cylindrical shaped rice with a strip of grilled seaweed on the middle, two whole karages, four octopus-shaped hotdogs and chopped cabbage with sauce. Just by looking, even though it was very simple, it still looked delicious.
I first took the cabbage. "Was the sauce too bland?" She inquired looking intently at me and still not opening her own lunch box.
"I think it's good." I answered truthfully.
"Thank goodness. I thought I didn't put enough flavoring while making the sauce."
"You're a good cook, Kinomoto." I gave a small smile.
Her face looked flushed as she turned her head in the other way. "I sucked badly at it back then."
"Yeah, I heard."
"From who?" She faced me again.
"From Daidouji-san. We incidentally met yesterday and she talked too many things about you."
"Really?" Her face looked sullen.
"Yeah. She really thinks of you a lot."
Her expression didn't change even though I mentioned how Daidouji-san treasures her. "Is that so?" She answered uninterestedly.
"If it's not much of a bother to ask, did you have a fight with Daidouji-san? I know it's not my business but I think if you will just talk to her, you can understand each other." I seemed to be desperate on my own words.
"Thank you, Li-kun. But our problem is not as simple as you think." She was starting to play on her food. "How should I say this? Well, to put it simply, I just hate her." It felt like what she just said is nothing but the truth.
"I see." My voice turned low as I felt the tension I brought upon asking.
"Well, it's nothing to worry about." She tried to cheer me up even though she, too, was down.
"Also," I really wanted to ask. "About…" Maybe Takashi-san was right. I cannot say that I'm totally not bothered on what I heard. "About Hi-"
"About?" She repeated as if knowing I couldn't find my own words.
Argh. I was furious to myself on why I couldn't ask it. "Um, nothing."
"Eh? Is that so?"
"Yeah. Shall we continue our meal?"
Minutes passed in this silent filled place. After the conversation we had earlier, no one dared to speak up until we finished our food.
"Li-kun," she called as she closed her finished obento. "I was thinking if you're free tomorrow."
"I think I don't have any." I answered absent-mindedly.
"Then, can you accompany me tomorrow?"
A date! No, no way it could be.
"I-it's not a date, ok? I just need to buy some materials for the Student Council. And Eriol will be out tomorrow." She was flustered as she added.
Eh~ Just because Hiiragizawa-kaichou can't make it, huh? EH! What am I thinking? I was actually thinking if my facial expression was betraying me. "Okay. I can be your chaperone."
"Thanks. Then, I'll mail you the details later." She gave a bright expression and picked up the two bento boxes as she stood up from her seat. "Thanks again for eating lunch with me. See you later at the meeting." She said and ran off while waving her hand for a small farewell.

INT. Back of the building—3:00 PM, 19th of September 2008, Friday.
The last period was cancelled due to an emergency and our teacher couldn't make it for our class. And because there were only girls on duty today, I was asked to throw the garbage here.
Walking to that place, I saw Daidouji-san sitting beside the tree and had her head looked above the falling leaves of it while having a solemn expression.
"Daidouji-san," she turned her head to me. "You still have one remaining class, right?" I asked.
"Ah-" the first thing she said as if she just knew that. "Yeah." She turned to look at the falling leaves again so I decided to go nearer. "I actually skipped classes since 5th period."
"Eh? You mean you didn't go back after lunch break?"
"Yeah. You see Li-kun, this afternoon, during lunch break, I saw you and Sakura went to the side of the building near the fire exit. I thought of asking the two of you to have lunch together but I end up listening to your conversation."
"Eh?" Feeling I already know what she heard on our conversation, I could not help myself but turned my head to another direction. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay. I've already known it for a long time. I know I'm just forcing myself to her."
"Is that so? Daidouji-san, actually, I also have something to tell you. This morning, my friend and I accidentally heard your fight with Kinomoto in the infirmary. B-but it's not like we heard it all. We immediately leave after we knew you two are in the middle of a serious conversation."
"It's fine. But, I really should thank you." She smiled at me even if her face was full of sadness. "Um, can I ask up to where you heard on our fight?"
"Up until Kinomoto said she stayed on Hiiragawa-kaichou's place." I answered her inquiry.
"Oh? I see then." She looked up once again and now she was trying to catch some leaves as she brought her palms faced upward. "Say, Li-kun. How can you heal a broken heart?"
"I wonder. I never fallen in love, after all."
Daidouji-san laughed at the answer I gave. "You're really funny, Li-kun." She said before we both fell silent.
Yeah. I wonder too. A broken heart, huh?

~end of chapter 9~
A/N: So as I said earlier, next chapter will all about the past between Tomoyo and Sakura including Eriol. So right now, I'll apologize for the (seemingly) date of Syaoran and Sakura will be delayed. Hahaha. Am I mean?
Also, I already planned on what will happen in this story up to Christmas (Christmas of the timeline, ok). But I'm still doubting if I'll include Valentine's and White Day too because I already did it in my previous story, For A Wish. So I would like your opinion about this. Should I include that two events or not?
Next chapter's update will be unknown when. Why? Because school will start soon. *cries* Even with this, I'll try to write if I find the time to.
Now, the time for not so connected blabs of mine.
I was actually thinking of writing another fanfic but I'm afraid to start without knowing how I will end it. Actually, here's a list of fanfics I want to write:
A Detective Conan fanfic – I want Conan and Ai take the antidote of Apotoxin 4869 while they are been chased by the members of the Black Org. Problem: I don't want to ruin my favorite anime just by writing something too much amateurishly.
A Code Geass fanfic – An 'if' situation. What if in the Shinjuku Ghetto incident, Cornelia went to Area 11 for a visit and have Lelouch captured without knowing it was actually her brother who was commanding the terrorists. Problem: I have no knowledge about military science (but I really love philosophy).
A Skip Beat fanfic – I was thinking what if the media took notice of the strange relationship between Kyoko and Sho. And they'll be having the both of them be investigated about their past. Problem: I'm thinking too many situations and cannot settle for one and also, I still haven't settle how I should end it.
A Vampire Knight fanfic – A story which happens in between Kaname's death and reborn as a human. A more detailed than the extra chapter. Problem: It feels like I'll be just retelling the manga while adding some parts.
A classic crossover of Yu Yu Hakusho and Flame of Recca – Yurumeshi team will be entering the competition of the Hokages to investigate. Problem: How the heck should I end this? Haha
Actually, that are just some. I can't remember everything I want to write. But right now, I'll be sticking to the two ongoing stories I have. I have to finish the both of them before thinking of another one.
But I really wish that there'll be a fanfic on Code Geass that can satisfy. 'Cause as of now, I feel that those top stories in the Code Geass fandom are missing something—something that made me addicted to it. I wonder if it's about philosophy.
