Chapter 9:

The rain was pouring down heavily on the forest, soaking everything within its reach. No birds nor animals scurried by. Besides the sound of the water colliding with the earth, it was silent. It was rather enjoyable. For the first time in days I could think about everything going on. I didn't really think about it then, but why had my father left the same day Alex had gotten his hand on that stupid flyer. Was he in on this? Did they threaten him? Did he leave me behind to save himself? There were too many questions and in all honesty, I didn't want any answers. I just wanted to know my father was alright.

I was so lost in my thoughts I didn't heard the sounds of someone footsteps approaching me. All I could think about was that in one decision, I would have to leave it all behind. If it's true what they say, my life is over and I would have to fight for the sake of others. That's a lot more responsibility than I had. I went from picking colleges, to lets go save vampires! "Ugh." I groaned rubbing my face. This was simply too much for me.

"You're going to catch a cold if you stay like that." Someone said, quickly bring me out of my thought and making me jump to me feet. "A little jumpy, are we?" She grinned.

The woman that had sneaked towards me was short and ugly as fuck. She had no shoes or clothes. Instead she had ropes wrapped around her body. She had pointy ears that looked much like mine when I turned and her eyes were two different colors, one was brown and the other green. The woman was as muscular as a man but way hairier than most.

"I...I'm sorry, you scared me. I thought it was…" I trailed off not wanting to say vampires, thinking she would think I'm insane.

"A creature of the night?" She finished off for me making me back up against the tree. I was too tired to run.

"Who are you?" I asked trying to think of a plan, but I was too tired to really do anything. Playing dead was the only thing that would come to mind.

She chuckled as she turned around and began to walk away. "You'll catch a cold if you stay out here, come with me."

"Fuck that, stranger danger man."

Turning around she glared at me, I wasn't sure if it was because of the rain but shivers crawled down my spine. "My name is Evanna, now come Andrea. I will not ask you again."

"And if I don't?" I asked cautiously.

"Do you want an answer to that?" The glare on her face was enough to scare me shitless. I shook my head and followed like a dog with its tails tucked between its legs.
