What do you mean I don't own HP? Damn there goes my delusion. Oh well at least I can write fan-fiction if nothing else.
I have come to the realization that many people believe that I may have abandoned some of my stories. This is not the case. While it may be a while in between chapters I will always try to never abandon any of my stories. I cannot promise that I will update in a timely manner or that you won't be frustrated by a lack of updates because I would be lying both to myself and to my readers. Therefor I can only promise to do my best to get my stories out there.
Now onto the story.
…
Antonio Dolohov sat in the sitting room with a cup of fine scotch as he contemplated what the morning was going to bring. For the first time he was going to be able to claim his heir. Harry, his son in all but blood would truly be his. A smirk twisted the corner of his mouth. So lost in thought was he that he nearly missed the floo being activated as it was he simply raised an eyebrow.
"Weasley, to what do I owe the pleasure?" He asked, his well-constructed mask slipping into place.
"Lord Dolohov" Arthur Weasley began and then paused before beginning again. "Lord Dolohov I ask that you allow me to speak with you."
"If you are planning to disown your son Weasley you can do it from there, after all it may be safer." He sneered at the red headed man. He watched as the other man's face contorted in fury and then into a look of pain and sadness.
"I have no wish to do such a thing. I realize my family have made several bad and perhaps ill-fated choices and I have no wish to continue adding to the growing list of our mistakes. I…" He paused and took a deep breath. "I wish to talk to you as one father to another. Please may I come through?" He asked and after a moment Antonio nodded his head.
It only took a moment for the eldest red head to step through. "Thank you for allowing my…" Arthur began but Antonio waved his hand to silence the man.
"Let me make something clear to you Weasley, I don't particularly like you. I like very few people, and you're not one of them. It is late and I do wish to sleep tonight. Having said that, do be quick about what it is that you want."
"I…" Arthur began unsure of what to say. What was he thinking coming here? To talk to the cold man? To ask his opinion? "This was a mistake, I apologize Lord Dolohov." He stated and turned around to head back to the floo.
"Sit down Weasley." Antonio barked startling the man into obeying. "You're here because you have no one else to turn to. You're here because you just found out that you have treated your youngest boy ill. Your hear and thus you will listen to what I am going to say without interruption." He stated, his voice chilly and Arthur could do nothing but nod his acceptance of what the man was saying.
"Do you know why your family is looked down upon in pureblood society Weasley? No well allow me to explain." Antonio stated without waiting for the red head to answer. "Your family is looked down upon because you refuse to acknowledge your heritage. You're a wizard, a pure blood at that. Both you and your wife were born into this world but you refuse to follow tradition." He stated as he waved his hand and another cup appeared and like a good host he poured his uninvited guest a cup.
"It was the one thing the light and dark families never fought over, the one thing we all imparted to our children and to see your lot run around as they have been is a disgrace to the wizarding world. Your daughter runs around unchecked and do not deny it. You have not sought out a proper husband for her as is your responsibilities. Perhaps you are under the misguided belief that she will find true love." He paused as he took a drink, his dark eyes boring into Arthur.
"It is all well and good to have that hope for our children, every parent be them light dark or neutral want their child to be happy but you should have placed her in a betrothal the moment she started showing obsessive tendencies towards my son. On top of that every member of our society could see that your youngest son has been nearly forgotten under the shadows left by his siblings and that is a true crime." He paused to allow the man to take in his words.
"So I am going to tell you what you are going to do Arthur Weasley. You are going to show up at our bank at seven o'clock tomorrow where you will be given a loan from my estates. You will then confer with the goblins and invest that money into business. They will draw up a contract that you will sign saying that you will pay back the loan to my estates. After which you will make your way down to the ministries and collect the Weasley lordship." His eyes grew fierce as he looked at the other man who sat stock still and unmoving.
"You will quit being a disgrace to our world and take your responsibilities more seriously. You will seek help for that daughter of yours and keep her away from my son. He is, unfortunately, going to marry Flint. Is there anything that you do not understand Weasley?" He demanded, his voice sharp.
"Why?" Arthur demanded.
"Because your son is dating my niece and I will not have her being laughed at. You will start acting the part of a proper pureblood and take control of your family before you lose your son. Now if that is everything I do wish to sleep. If you will take your leave."
Arthur could do nothing but to nod, he only hoped that this was the best action to take. It had been a long time since the Weasley family had taken their place in politics, concentrating more on their family, but perhaps Dolohov was right. After all he had failed his family, and he would do anything to make things right.
"I'll do it." He mumbled as he stood and made his way back to the floo. Things needed to change and while this wasn't going to make it better it was a start.
"Very well. Do not be late Weasley." Dolohov stated as he stood and with a final nod Arthur flood away.
