Unexpected Meetings

Webby was still in awe by the town, even if they headed into the more run down areas known as the back alley. Everything was smelly back here and the sound of crows and groans echoed all around . Apparently Scrooge wanted the cheapest area to buy real estate for business. Plus the best place to set up shop and by a spy ring is also the most seedest place. The seedier the better, especially in terms of information.

"Alright everyone stick together." Scrooge ordered as they headed. "This is place is probably crawling with criminals...I mean look at that place, looks like a dump."

He pointed to a building labeled MYSTERY SHACK, the S had fallen off so that it said HACK. Sitting on the porch a gruff looking old man wearing a red fez and white undershirt in shorts laid on a bench with a can of bear in his hand. He smelled...Of what Webby didn't know but he smelled. She'd never seen someone so unruly in her life, and she knew the Beagle Boys.

The gruff man glared at the ducks shaking his fist and snorting scratching his lower back side looking a bit hunched over.

"Hey, who you calling a dump," He yelled in a gravelly voice. "This is a highly respected institution from where I came from.

"Then his world must have lofty standards," Scrooge muttered, he didn't seem to care. "Oops, didn't see you there, Scrooge McDuck, richest Duck in the world...I guess this establishment would make cheap property, how much."

"What?" He yelled marching towards them. "I'm Stan Pines, this is my home, I ain't selling to a bunch of ducks."

"Not even for a penny." Scrooge snickered.

Stan seemed tempted. "Well i like Penny's...No! No! I have more pride than that...When I make my money I wanna know that I conned it fair and square. Besides if I were to sell the shake I'd want uh...A million munny"

"A million munny!" Scrooge shouted, "For this death trap of a house, no way!"

"Yo what's all the yelling?" Walking out of the shack Webby saw a tall teen wearing a plaid jacket and muffled hat. "Woo! Talking Ducks, this town gets weirdy by the day."

Behind her a large man with shirt and buck teeth appeared

"Hey I'm Webby." She stuck out a hand and shook the girls hand.

"Wendy, and this is Soos."

"Howdy Duck People." Soos waved.

Launchpad shook his hand. "Woo, cool hat."

"Same!"

"Yeesh, what are we doing here we should be with Uncle Donald looking for Leon and that Key." Louie blurted out.

"Key?" Wendy asked. "Oh no don't tell me your obsessed with one too."

"Why do you know something?" Webby asked.

Wendy sighed. "Oh I just this friend who is obsessed with finding out about this thing called a Keyblade, he's been going on about it for weeks."

"Hmm...Wonder if that's what Uncle Donald and Goofy are looking for." Huey deduced.

"Hey don't consort with the enemy." Stan yelled.

Wendy seemed confused. "Uh what enemy."

"The Ducks." Stan yelled. "They insulted the shack."

"I insult the shack all the time."

"Yeah well….I have my principles dang it."

"No you don't." Wendy muttered.

Webby just laughed by tried to cover it. She enjoyed these people. Already she could tell that this was going to be quite an interesting town to set up a spy ring. She turned to her Granny Beakley who just watched everything with a glare. Even with that one downer expression Webby was still excited about this town.

BOOM

Everyone turned to see a loud explosion in the distance. A large puff of smoke rose in the air the wind blowing up against them in full force.

"Holy tolito!" Stan yelled.

"What in blazes is that." Scrooge had to hold onto his hat as the wind from the explosion blew against him.

Another explosion happened, then another….Then another.

All around them, a miss mash of strange bugged creatures emerged, some in the shape of tiny soldiers while the rest looked like bugs. Either way they began to surround Webby and the others as they started to appear in large numbers.

"What are these things?" Beakley asked.

"Heartless!" Wendy scowled. "Come on, get in shack it's got weird magic stuff."

"Magic?" Scrooge asked. "What type of magic, cuz I don't want to find out it's cheap stuff."

"I don't know, Dipper said that the shack is safe come on!"

Wendy lead them all down at the shack as the Heartless went after them. She managed to give one a kick but was caught off guard and pinned down by a group of them.

"Oh no new friend!" Webby yelled.

With all her energy and might she leaped into the air and karate chopped all the Heartless of her with a single move. Wendy looked amazed at the young duckling girl who helped her up.

"Thanks dude, wicked moves."

"My granny taught me."

"She also taught you to look out!" Beakley yelled.

More Heartless began to return now. Using this brief window Wendy and Webby ran up to the shack and closed the door. Suddenly a large energy shield came over them blocking off the Heartless as they tried to storm the shack.

Wendy took a Axe from the closet having at the ready for battle.

"Unicorn magic." Scrooge recognized it instantly. "You have Unicorns here."

"No we have them back home." Wendy explained. "And let me tell you they are nothing but a bunch of-"

Wendy was thrown back before she could finish her sentence. The Heartless were zooming around the place trying to attack them.

"You'll never take me alive suckers!" Stan yelled as he shook his fists as the Heartless.

Now Webby and her new friends were all trapped in the Mystery Shack, surrounded by a horde of Heartless. All over they saw the chaos spread and the screams of chaos began to overtake the town. Fire and explosions appeared all over.

"I hope Uncle Donald's okay." Huey sighed looking outside.

The Heartless were here and they were in full force.

-000-

"Get behind me!" Donald shouted staff at hand. "BLIZZARD!"

He unleashed a magical cold blast that froze a few of the Heartless in stasis and caused a few others to retreat. Aerith stood behind Goofy who protected her with his shield. The Knight and mage were the middle of a full blown attack on the town.

"We need to find Leon." Aerith yelled.

More explosions came in the distance as the ground began to shank, the smell of ash spreading everywhere as these creature of shadow spread in mass.

"Well where is he?" Donald asked.

Aerith looked around, in the distance he saw Heartless being flung against the sky hitting the wall with a loud thud.

"I think I have a idea."

Donald just looked at the chaos around him horrified.

Heartless spread around town causing chaos and panic within the population. Donald could only hope that his family was okay. So long as they were with Scrooge they'd be fine. Not that the boys and Webby weren't resourceful themselves. Though he wondered if that mysterious key was the reason for the chaos.

"Follow me!" Aerith yelled

As instructed they rushed off and began to head out, hoping this would all end soon enough.

-000-

Sora had never seen this amount of chaos and horror in his life, not counting the destruction of his Island.

"Is this world getting destroyed too?" Sora asked.

Leon kept running. "I hope not, doesn't look like, seems like this a coordinated attack. Someone ordered this to happen."

"Who?"

"I have a few ideas but right now we need to find the source."

Leaping into the air Leon lashed a group of Heartless in there way as he and Sora ran down the back alley behind the Hotel. All around Heartless continued to spread attack shops and homes at a alarming rate.

"Leon...Leon!"" Sora saw him reach up his arm as a small holographic projection of Phineas appeared on his wrist. "Leon, there you are, people have been looking for you."

"Yeah I know, I found one of them. What's up?"

"What are we gonna do about the Heartless? Cid's box can only go so far and our security isn't ready yet."

Leon scowled. "Tell everyone to meet me in the third district, it seems that's the source, if we can find the leader we can take them all out."

Sora continued to watch as Leon whipped in action as they kept running. He had never seen anyone with so much agility and speed in his life. Not even Riku, who was himself quite agile, could move the same way he did. He was basking in the presence of a real and skilled warrior

"Wish I could do that." Sora muttered.

Leon snickered. "Not that hard once you get used to it...BEHIND YOU!"

Sora shifted around and thrusted his arm hard slicing the creature in half. It fluttered in the air as a small heart rose into the air and vanished. He could feel sweat dripping down his face as he stumbled on his feet, heart pounding.

Every time he cut one of these creatures down a slight thrill came over him.

"Nice refleck." Leon said calling Sora back to reality. "But we have a lot farther to go."

"What do I do? Move this thing around like a maniac."

"With your skill level...Yes."

So that's what he did, not even bothering to see exactly what he was hitting most of the time Sora flailed his arms around as various Heartless attacked him. Leon watched his back as they passed through the carnage. There were so many in various shapes and sizes, and of various shapes of sizes, some fat with turbans on their heads, the others tiny little mints with colored shape cloths and pointy yellow hats that zoomed in the sky. All these Heartless were merciless as they targeted civilians turning whatever victim they got into a Heartless.

Sora tried to keep up as fast as he could, not used to running so hectically in the middle of chaos. Leon was ten times the runner he was, not even Riku could probably kee pup. He was a master swordsman as he slashed and hacked every enemy in front of him. They ran passed the Gizmo Shop, which was a large cathedral like building at the edge of the Second District as they headed to the main plaza of the Third.

"This way!" Leon called as Sora ran up ahead of him.

Sora jumped towards the center of the plaza waiting for Leon to join him. The place was quite and calm compared to the rest of the town.

Suddenly a dark shadow loomed over him and then, all went dark.

-000-

"Run Goofy!" Donald yelled as he tried to keep as far away from the Heartless as possible.

Donald, Goofy and Aerith all tried to keep up a steady pace as the Heartless continued to attack the town. There numbers were wide as they spread across all over the town. Donald breathed heavily as his legs starting to hurt from all the running.

Goofy was sweating, keeping his shield over his head as Heartless bumped over it. "Garsh where are they all coming from?" He asked

"Slow down, I need to get a good picture." Jiminy held onto Donald's pocket as he wrote fiercy in his journal.

They turned another corner as another round of Heartless slammed against the wall of one of the buildings and began to spread there their shadows. Donald used a freeze spell to stop them from catching up to them if only for a moment. Entering a nearby shop they climbed up a flight of stairs and out another door only to reach a dead end by a balcony.

"Uh oh." Goofy kept his shied close to his face as the Heartless closed in on them

Aerith held up her first ready for a fight.

Donald saw this and nodded, knowing what to do. "Let's go get them Goofy."

The moment of bravado died as soon as it was born. Donald and Goofy found themselves flying into the air falling fast as they landed on the ground with a loud thud. Both felt something press up agaisnt them as they heard a moan that was not there own. Once there vision returned Donald could see something, something familiar, yet also, something he never seen before.

"The Key!"

-000-

"The key!"

Sora felt his head spin as something heavy was pressing on top of him. His body ached in pain as his muscles were all soar. With what little energy he had he pushed off whatever was crushing him and got up stumbling a few feet forward before straightening up. He cracked his neck before turning around to see two individuals lying on the ground knocked out. One was a duck wearing a blue jacket and sailor hat, the other was a dog in green clothes and tall yellow hat. They were quite cartoonish by nature as they stood up realizing what they had fallen on top of.

"Um...Hi?" Sora waved politely, hoping they were friendly.

The Duck looked at him then at his Key and then back at him. "You're the one with the Key?" He asked in a very gravelly and hard to understand voice.

"What?" Sora asked.

"The key." The dog spoke pointing to it. "I'm Goofy, and this is Donald, we've been looking for it."

Sora raised a eyebrow. "Your looking for me?"

"Yep."

"Your so young." Donald pointed out.

Sora was about to ask them more questions when suddenly the ground began to shake as several pillars rose from the ground completely surrounding them and entrapping them in the plaza.

"What's going on?" Sora held his Keyblade tight clenching it as hard as he could.

"I don't know." Donald said.

All three of them huddled up to one another.

"Look!" Goofy pointed up.

From the sky huge pieces of armor falling from the sky. They hit the ground and bounce into the air, spinning wildly. The arms of the Guard Armor form around the torso, which is emblazoned with a red and black symbol. Once the legs attach, the Heartless lands on the ground loudly. It stands there for a moment before the helmet slams down onto the torso with a bright flash. Sora gasped as he laid sight on yet another large monstrous Heartless.

"That's not good." Sora muttered

The Guard Armor stood before them now waiting to strike.

It spins its head and arms before walking toward the trio. Sora attacks its arms, but it hardly recoils in its pursuit of him. Donald and Goofy do their best to strike the tough armor. It begins spinning its arms wildly around its body. Donald is caught in the twister and is knocked out. Sora strikes at one of the arms and the Guard Armor stomps the ground in anger.

"Watch out." Goofy yelled pulling Sora aside.

Sora was pushed back landing on his back as back as the Heartless iron first barley missed him. However the shake had caused Sora to fall back allowing the Heartless to once again strike. But he was spared as he saw Goofy stand before him carrying a shield.

"Don't worry kiddo I got your back." Goofy smiled.

Sora blinked. "Uh...Thanks?"

"Look out!"

"Thunder!" Donald used his magic to strike the Heartless with lighting causing it to flinch.

Sora got back up now Keyblade on hand. He was appreciate these two, they seemed to work well as a unit together. Taking the intative and again with that same instict he rose into the air to strike a arm off causing the Heartless to lose it's footing.

It jumps into the air and its pieces clatter to the ground heavily. Sora strikes off another arm while Goofy heals Donald and they tag-team against its thunderous legs.

"We're doing it!" Sora yelled.

Goofy cheered. "Woo hoo! Take that Heartless!"

"It's not over yet." Donald yelled.

"What did he say!" Sora asked.

Donald rolled his eyes. "Attack."

With the appendages destroyed, the torso is left defenseless and it falls to the ground. Sora, Donald, and Goofy approach and it begins spinning out of control, knocking the three of them back. Once they find their footing again, Sora gives the armor a final strike and it starts to explode from the inside, shaking the area around it. Its head wobbles and falls to the ground with a mighty ring. A large glowing heart floats out of its torso into the air and the Guard Armor disappears. The District grows silent, the fountain depicting two dogs in love at the edge of the area giving off the only sound

Sora breathed a side of relief as he wiped the sweat from the front of his brow. He wasn't used to such combat before. He turned to the other two who also looked exhausted, Goofy laying on his back while Donald was just trying to catch his breath.

"You guys okay?" He asked walking up them now..

Goofy nodded sitting up. "Yeah….We're good."

"You guys were pretty good out there." Sora complemented.

Goofy smiled. "You did pretty good yourself. You know how to think on your feet."

"I've never fought like that before in my life."

"Well your seem like a pretty good fighter." Donald added, giving him a complementary smile.

"Guys!" Sora turned to Yuffie along with a large group of others, mostly Ducks and a few humans who were with Dipper and Mabel, must have been their family.

"Sora, you're okay." Mabel said running to give him a hug.

Sora seemed taken aback. "Uh, yeah thanks Mabel."

"You three were amazing out there ." Yuffie said sounding impressed.

"Gee kid slow down you met him what a few hours ago and already your hugging?" A gruff old man spoke.

"Oh come on Grunkle Stan, as far as I'm concerned he's my friend already."

"That's a fast way to make friends." A teen girl with red hair commented. "I'm Wendy by the way."

"Sora."

"I'm Soos." Said the chubby looking man.

"So your the one the Key then." A elderly duck walked up to him pointing to his Keyblade. "I'm Scrooge McDuck….though I didn't expect to see a legendary Keyblade, let alone in the hands of a child."

"I think it's awesome." A young girl duck Spoke. "I'm Webby...these my friends Huey, Duey and Louie."

"My nephews." Donald added before running up to them to check up on them. "Who I hope are okay."

"I'm fine Uncle Donald." Louie said pushing him off. "Really? Nothing we couldn't handel."

"We found you guys locked in the shack screaming to high heavens." Yuffie snickered.

"Were not…." Louie sneered. "Huey was though."

"HEY!"

Leon stepped in now. "Okay, okay that's enough. You did good kid, better than most people I would think."

"Thanks." Sora blushed, his Keyblade vanishing in his hand, he then turned to look at Donald and Goofy. "So you were looking for me."

"Yeah, we need help finding our King, and we think you can do that for us." Goofy explained.

Sora pointed to himself confused. "Me? How?"

"He said, stick to the person with the Key, and that's what we're gonna do, and you have the Key so….Can we stick with yuh?"

Sora didn't know what to say. Not only today did he discover did he wield some sort of ancient weapon of power, but now that he had people looking for him to find some sort of royalty. Let alone the fact that these two were the strangest of people he could have met. A talking duck and a talking dog. He had to wonder just who there King was? Either way, things were getting stranger and stranger he was losing sight of the picture here.

"Sora, go with them, especially if you want to find your friends." Leon intervened.

"Huh?"

"Yeah, will help you any way we can, but I think it would be best if you go with them...Staying here, may not be the wisest idea."

"Oh I see." Sora frowned looking around the carnage.

Leon realized what he said. "Don't take it like that Sora, you can come back any time, but the Heartless will continue to come, at least with them you'll have a chance to find those who matter, and maybe even give us clues as to what's going on."

"But what about the Keyblade? I don't even know how to use it."

"None of us do." Yuffie said. "That's why some on the job training will do you good."

Sora felt a lump form in his throat. "G-Great."

"And maybe you'll find some more research for me to use about the Heartless." Dipper said looking at Sora with a wide smile. "I have A LOT of theories and ideas so if you can happily tell me everything about them while your traveling please and thank you."

"Dork." Wendy muttered under her breath with a chuckle.

Mabel rolled her eyes only to notice Webby had a grappling hook in her backpack. "Is that a grappling hook?"

"Yep, it's one of the best weapons ever."

Mabel just looked at her in shock and said in a hushed voice. "I've found my people."

"Okay everyone, I think we should get going, we got a lot of clean up ahead of us."

"I'll contact Phineas, Ferb and Isabella." Aerith said getting out her communication watch. "They'll handle clean up.

"We should go to the Mystery Shack." Dipper suggested. "It's protected so the Heartless can't randomly show up there."

"Agreed. " Leon nodded come on.

Sora followed them as they headed out mind still racing. "What a day, first I go to a new world, then I end up joining a resistance and helping a duck and a dog find a king...heh...what's the next weird thing that gonna happen to me."

That answer came when he pressed up against something or more like someone and fumbled back. Gazing up he was a bit flummoxed as he saw standing before him a walking and apparently talking lizard man with crocodilian like snout, with sleek greasy black hair wearing a black tailored suite and blood red tie. Sora couldn't help but notice that out of all his features what stood out most was on one hand was a missing finger. One missing finger.

"Oh, s-sorry sir." Sora said his voice a tad shaky.

The lizard looked down at him, his expression stoic until he gave the slightest of a grin before adjusting his red tie and dusting himself off. When he spoke it was with a very dull and to the point demeanor. "Quite all right? I've never seen you here before."

"I'm Sora."

"Sora?" The lizard man smirked. "Welcome to Traverse Town. Sora."

With that he left not even blinking an eye as Sora just watched him grow farther away. Yuffie rushed back to see what was going on.

"W-Who was that?" Sora asked her.

Yuffie looked up, her eyes narrowing as she spotted the strange lizard man and scowled. "That's Toffee."

"Toffee?"

"Yeah…" Yuffie sighed. "He's one of the more stranger residents of the town, owns a bit of a collectors shop near town. I wouldn't trust him though, shady things happen around hmi."

"S-Shady." Sora asked feeling his hands shake.

Yuffie nodded. "Yeah, but I'd just ignore him kid, come on, don't wait up."

Sora turned back one more time but by now Toffee had vanished. As he headed forward to join up with Yuffie and the others he began to become worried of just what he had gotten himself into. If there were shady people like Toffee living in the town, then who knows what other dark forces might await him as he headed into this strange new world of adventure.
