"GWEN!" Ben raced over to the tank to watch the shark plunge under the water. He jumped in after her only to get knocked down by Animo. He watched the water turn from translucent to blood red.
"No," he whispered breathing out. In less than a second he had lost his cousin and it was all his fault. Tears began to roll down his red flustered cheeks. He growled in pain. Pain and anger.
"I'll get you for that" Ben yelled with fire in his belly as he lunged at the man slapping down his Omnitrix transforming into a four armed creature. He lashed out at him hitting everything in his path like a wrecking ball. Animo grovelled away hiding behind the tanks that once held his army. They smashed into pieces and soon enough the people came loose collapsing out of them onto the glass covered floor. Ignoring them Ben continued to lash out at Animo until he managed. His body flew through the air and smashed into the glass tank letting the glass shatter onto his body. He groaned breathing out unconscious. Ben picked him up ready to beat him.
"Ben Stop" A man called out. Ben looked over to see his grandpa hovelling over to him with clutches. "Ben it's over" Max told him raising an arm up slowly to try tell Ben to put the man down.
"HE KILLED, GWEN" Forearms sneered tears rolling down his rosey red cheeks. Grandpa Max gulped trying to reconciliation and put justice before his feelings.
"Let him go, Ben" Max told him.
Ben gripped harder onto Animo's shirt.
"But-" He began but it wasnt worth the fight anymore; everything he cared about was gone. But then there was still the killer in his hands and he wanted his revenge.
"Gwen wouldn't want you to do this" Max reasoned.
It got to Ben. He let Animo's body drop to the ground as he walked over to his grandpa.
"I can still save her" Ben raced over to the break in the floor ready to dive in if not for his grandpa grabbing one of his arms.
"Ben, stop" Max argued with the alien but he didn't want to listen.
"She's gone" Max told him. "There's no reason for you to die" Max continued.
"She's my cousin" Ben growled staring at the water to no longer find anything moving in the water. No shadows, no figures, no nothing. Just a streak of blood heading towards the side of the wood. The Omnitrix began to time out and soon enough Ben was on his knees crying his eyes out. Max rushed over to him bringing the boy in for a hug. "Common Ben let's help these people and get out of here" Max insisted.
Ben sniffed wiping his nose with the back of his hand and nodded getting up and making his way over to the unconscious people as Max dialed 911.
DAWN
Soon enough the cops showed up as Ben and Max waited outside the large old aquarium leading right into the sea. Max watched as Animo was lugged away in chains by two policemen wondering how long it would be until he escaped prison again.
"I can't thankyou enough" A tall redheaded woman with green eyes and long hair said to them. Ben looked over to the look alike. She had a blanket wrapped around her shoulders as she hugged her sides. Ben couldn't help but release a few more tears from his eyes. He looked away from the girl as she shook Max's hand and moved on. Camera men and news reporters stormed the scene as Ben and Max stood there in agony over the loss of the beloved family member.
"I'm going to go wait in the RustBucket" Ben mumbled walking away from the scene and across the beach back towards the hospital.
Max sighed watching the depressed 13 year old as he took off thinking that he would need some time alone to think.
Ben couldn't get the thought of his cousins death out of his mind. He couldn't get over whether or not she died from the shark or drowning. A shiver ran down Ben's spine. He hoped she died peacefully. He stared at the ground noticing a small rock nearby his foot. He swung his leg back and kicked at it making it spiral a few meters ahead. He looked up to notice that the rock was heading towards a few other large ones in the water. He sighed wanting his stone back and walked over to the rocks lumped together just hanging out of the water. As he got closer the rocks began to transform and look more human like. Ben gulped as he began to run over to it only to find that it was in fact a human being. Their side was punctured and they were clinging so tightly on a knife in their hands. Ben looked up to the figures face and almost collapsed.
It wasn't an angel; no nothing like an angel. It was a human being with red fiery hair and closed eyes. She had a focused expression laced on her brow. "Gwen" Ben whispered placing a hand on her neck to feel a faint heart beat. He smiled calling her name yet again louder this time whilst bringing his ear down onto her chest. "Common Gwen" Ben opened her mouth and began to try and resuscitate her.
"Common Dweeb, wake up"
He pushed her chest down as quickly as he could 30 times before moving back over to her mouth and breathing in twice. He kept on repeating himself until she was chocking and coughing the water out of her lungs. Ben smiled tears sprawling down his cheeks as he laid his cousin in the recovery position letting her breathe in the air.
Ben smiled keeping a tight hand on his cousins shoulder ready to not leave her side for anything. She continued to cough time and time again before her eyes began to flutter open. Ben stared down at the beauty of her green eyes as they adjusted to her new environment.
"Ben" She whispered sluggishly as she got up onto her elbow and stared her cousin straight in the eye despite being half-closed.
"I thought I'd never see you again" Ben wrapped his arms around her. She giggled lightly thinking of the time when they first met Azmuth.
"Well, I'm here" She told him lifting pushing Ben away slightly. Ben stared down at her pale features. He stared over at the teeth marks embedded in her left rib cage and the blood crawling away to the shore.
She groaned as a small wave hit her feet and the knife fell from her hand and found its ways onto her injury. Ben couldn't help but stare; he wanted to pick her up and take her away towards help but he knew moving her would be too painful. He needed to get help but he didn't want to leave her alone.
He stood up and looked back and forth hoping for a sign of civilization nearby.
He had walked for around 30 minutes along the beach and he could still see the broken down aquarium from the distance. Maybe if he ran as fast as he could he could get some help but it could take too long. He stared back towards his cousin barely capable of staring him in the eye. He gulped; she was about to collapse. She muttered something under her breath. Something hoarse. Ben kneeled down next to her as she repeated herself.
"Go get help" She repeated as she held tightly onto her sore ribs attempting to stop the bleeding as much as she could. Ben stared down at her and closed his eyes letting his tears plummet into the sand.
"I'm not leaving you" he told her removing his shirt and placing it tightly onto her rib-cage. She groaned as he held her tightly cradling her.
"Ben!" he heard someone call his name. He looked down at the girl in his arms. Her eyes were closed and she looked contempt.
"Ben!" He heard his name again.
"Gwen?" He called down to her but she didn't respond.
He screamed as he felt a hand placed roughly touch his back and a shadow bend down on him inspecting the person in his arms.
"Gwen!" He tried to grab her from his arms but he refused to let her go.
"Ben, we need to get her to a hospital" He told him trying to remove the girl from his grip.
"Ben!"
