Well, I'm the laziest Author ever to write on …

Hehe, hey guy's. Sooo, one whole month without a single chapter… Um, I can explain!

*Arrow flies past head, the authoress barely missing it.*

OKAY, OKAY, OKAY, I'M SORRY! I know I haven't updated in a MONTH, probably a new record for not posting, but this was a hard chapter to write!

And here's the kicker, IT'S NOT EVEN ABOUT EXCALIBUR!

So, here's the story of everything. For the first two weeks, I had 7 pages of the Excalibur episode written, well, okay, this didn't even have Excalibur in it yet, and at the part where Black*Star is failing at grammar and pronunciation on how to say Excalibur, a realization hit me.

"Wow, this chapter sucks."

So, two weeks turned into a month in a heartbeat (hehe, blame school.) and I had no ideas about what to turn this chapter into. So, the whole thing is basically about Mason feeling guilty from not telling Piper about the Underworld and how he couldn't protect her, Stein having a quick conversation with Shinigami-sama about Persephone and Hades deal with Mason, a dash of Kiper, and at the end Piper and Mason getting called into the Death room in a questioning fashion, this basically being the first part in the next chapter (Which hopefully will only take me two weeks minimum since I have a pretty good handle on what's going to be happening.)

Mason: Wait, you just told us the whole chapter. What's the point in someone reading it then?

WolfKeeper101: You know Mason, it's not too late to kill you off…

Mason: Wait, WHAT?

WolfKeeper101: Why yes, I have many opportunities as a matter of fact. *Smirks evilly*

*Mason slowly backs up, fleeing from the authoress.*

So with this awfully big A/N and the extremely long delay on this chapter, ENJOY!

(Disclaimer: I DO NOT own Soul Eater or any of its characters. Just MY OC'S.)

Mumbling of an unknown language was heard. Piper stood in the darkness, unable to see anything. She felt herself just to make sure she was there. She was naked, but why?

A sudden noise, a drop of water was heard, right after a bright light, blinding Piper and vaporizing her.

(Piper)

Gasping for air she rose from her bed on the couch, sweat covering her. Piper was now panting like a dog needing water, even though she didn't want water or any other liquid.

Putting a hand to her heart it pounded rapidly against her ribcage, feeling as though someone was grasping it tightly and tugging on it until it came out.

Feeling as though she would puke from the sudden image she laid back down, but not before checking the time. Glancing to the microwave she checked the time. "3:15, can't go check on him," she mumbled sadly. Biting her lip, she closed her eyes, violent images flashing through her mind.

"Mason. Please be okay."

Gulping, she laid there until she was carried to sleep again.

Bright light shone through the window and onto her closed eyes. The skin wasn't the best cover, so Piper pushed off her blue fuzzy blanket, putting an arm on her eyes and shielding them completely.

Piper didn't want to go back to sleep. She couldn't remember why, but she didn't want to. Her long fingers reached out for her partner's holder, and as she grasped it, she brought it to her face, not seeing the Kopis in its holder.

Now Piper remembered why she couldn't go to sleep, she had to see Mason, her partner and good friend.

Silently stepping through the apartment, she opened and closed the bathroom door, turning on the bathtubs handles. Piper locked the door, stripping down with nothing on, just like in the dream. After five minutes, the tub was full, bubbles also in it, being enough cleaning material for her. With five people living there, Piper wouldn't be greedy.

Slipping into the bathtub she let the warm water go onto her pale skin, making it pink.

"What was the point of that dream," she asked herself quietly while washing her skin. "Ever since coming here, I've been having weird dreams. That makes three of them. Two being of me as a little kid, even though none of those things happened and the other, from last night. What the heck's going on?"

Washing in the bathtub for another seven minutes, she stepped out of the water that was now chilled, some bubbles still covering her from top to bottom. Grabbing a towel from the cupboard, piper covered her body, creaking the door open.

Looking out the crack she created, the sound caught Maka's attention who was just escaping from her room. Still partially asleep, Maka rubbed the sleepiness away, smiling at Piper.

"Morning Pipes. You can have my room to get dressed. I have to use the bathroom anyway," she softly spoke. Piper moved into the room, waving to Maka as she went into the bathroom.

Closing the door she saw two hangers, one being for Maka's uniform, the other for Piper's. Carefully removing the one on top, Maka's, she saw her uniform and quickly slipped a tank top underneath the white fabric and slipped on her black skirt.

Feeling her bare arms, she realized just how cold it was outside. A chilling twenty seven in Death City she read on the thermometer.

Opening the closet for her mid-lengthen cape, a knock was heard on the door. About to answer, Maka's voice came through. "Hey Pipes, I don't know if you're in there or not, but someone's on the phone for you."

Piper stopped her search for her cape. A call, for her? Opening the door, she saw Maka's eyes filled with excitement.

"Who is it?"

"Guess," she simply stated.

Suddenly, Piper's face changed to one of pure amusement and relief. Taking the phone from her friend, she ran into the living room, her hair still damp and barefoot.

"M-Mason," she choked. "I-Is that you?"

After a pause, a rough and gravelly voice spoke. "Yeah. Hey P-Pip."

A tear of happiness ran down her cheek, Piper quick to wipe it away. "Mason. I-I'm on my way. Kay? I-I'm on my w-w-way."

Hanging up she ran to the room and retrieved two socks, quickly mushing them on her small feet. The two roommates smiled at each other, Maka getting an apple and throwing it to Piper.

"See you later Pipes," Maka said, not meeting her friend's eye.

Without saying anything, Piper laced her combat boots and ran out of the apartment.

Forgetting her cape.

Running in the streets of Death City felt great to Piper, the part about her forgetting her cape, not so much. It was fall, she should've remembered a jacket or something! Death, a cold wasn't a thing to add to her list of things not to do, the number one on that list though at the time being not ever going back to Italy!

Running up the steps of the DWMA and through the empty hallways of the academy, she made it to the medical part of the school. The door was closed, but Piper didn't care, she wanted to see her partner for Death's sake!

Gulping, she opened the door.

(Mason)

A ray of sun shined down from the window, his figure looking like an angels in the signal of hope. His coffee eyes were widened in slight surprise. A smile crawled onto his thinned face, which was pale, darkness under like a shadow.

"Piper," even though his smile was deceiving him, from his true emotions that he felt, she smiled at him, running over, her warm arms going to his back. A rush of heat went to his face, from Pier hugging him… shirtless.

"Um," what could he say? 'Hey can you not hug me when I'm shirtless?' "Pip? Um, can you, um-."

"OH MY DEATH I'M SO SORRY MASON! IT'S MY FAULT!"

Gulping, Mason looked down to the top of her head. This is exactly what he didn't want to happen, Piper blaming everything that had happened on herself. The guilt was kicking in for her while Mason had too many secrets in his back pocket.

"No, it's mine." Putting both hands on her shoulders, Mason looked into her eyes, the paleness being like a vultures, the creepiness of how beautiful the white and blue mixed and pulled over her eye made it chilling to stare to long. (A/N: Okay, Edgar Alan Pope, I blame you for this description!) "I'm the Weapon, I need to protect my Meister. I failed."

Smiling, Piper hugged her partner again. "It's not your fault. Let's just say it was that Meister, Crona's, fault."

Nodding, Mason mumbled an "I agree" into her ear, as they both stood enjoying the other's being there as the city of Death awoke from the rising sun.

(Stein)

The Death Room was the only clear sky there was in all of Death City, even if he did like a dull day. The shining light of the sun annoyed him greatly, while at night it was just too dark to see. This weather was also a symbolism of death.

Staring at Lord Death, the Shinigami slightly stood straighter, his height being about another three feet Stein would never go.

"I'll get straight to the point. Persephone is alive and is trying to break back into the real world," Stein gravely spoke.

Lord Death hummed to himself. "Now why would she do a silly thing such as that," he asked himself. "Unless she's finally been reincarnated."

"That is a possibility, but how can we be sure? We have no way of contacting her," the man with a screw in his head said, pulling out a cigarette.

"Stein, would you be able to search for the soul of the child," Lord Death asked.

Inhaling a breath of smoke, Stein pondered the idea. Could he?

"Maybe. But it will be extremely hard. I need something that would stick out in the soul. And that's not possible."

The two stood there, staring at the ground. Lord Death spoke first. "We must find her immediately. If an enemy of ours finds her before us and destroys her, it will be the end of the world."

Nodding Stein turned, walking away. Once through the doors of the Death Room, Stein exhaled the smoke, a skull forming in front of his face while more of the gas escaped from his nose like he was a bull.

"Hades Wrath. That will be the end of us all. That child is the world itself. "

Walking down the hallway, Stein passed a window, where a black bat stretched its midnight wings, red eyes being show as his pupils were exposed. The fangs of the beast showed.

He had found her.

(Piper)

"What?" she asks, but I don't answer. Instead I kiss her, one time, and try to tell her in that single gesture everything that she'll forget as soon as she turns away. I tell her I love her. I tell her I'll miss her. And then I let her go."

Catching my breath, I breathe in deeply and trying to be as silent as possible. Damn those sappy books, I think, shaking my head. The book wasn't over, even if I wanted it to be. It was the sequel to Anna Dressed In Blood, this one named Girl Of Nightmares.

"Everything all right?"

I yelped, jumping out of my skin to see Kid's face. I swear I had not heard him come in!

Mason was in the room's shower, needing one desperately and threating to either go back to Maka and Soul's apartment if he couldn't get one here, or, take one here so he wouldn't disrupt any classes that were near the other classes around the nurse's office's rooms.

As Mason was freshening up, I pulled out a book that she found in Mason's persona crate the nurse- who I now knew as Dr. Medusa- brought into the room, giving my partner the all clear to bathe at the same time.

Now with those event's being went over, this brought the two Meister's to the present. Kid scaring Piper and Piper squeaking in surprise.

"Y-Yah. Just," she hesitated on her next word, "peachy."

Kid smiled. Looking next to her place on the edge of the bed, he asked in a curious tone, "may I?"

Nodding, Kid sat, the smell of medicine being the oxygen to the room. A slight silence came over the two. Looking over, Kid saw Piper's worried face, and asked in the gentlest tone he could muster "are you alright Piper?"

No response came for a second. Eventually, her head rose, a warming smile towards the young Reaper being shown. "Of course! Mason's alright and I can see him! What could possibly be the wet spot in the carpet?!"

Not satisfied, a test came into the Shinigami's mind. "Piper, are you and Mason involved in a relationship?"

Kid's question startled me. How was I supposed to answer? Well, rhetorical question. Of course Mason and I weren't involved in a relationship, relationship! But, we were involved in a Meister and Weapon relationship but the way he looked at me when asking, curious and willing to fight me for the answer that told me he meant the first.

"Um, no. I-I mean, I- um," this was hard. Here I was telling my crush something that I didn't even know myself. Did we look like a couple? Mason never showed affection towards me except when we first met, when I had my extremely rare 'heart on a sleeve' moment. "N-No. No, I-I mean, W-W-W-Well…"

Why was it so hard to choke out an answer? Kid got up, brushing off the front of his shirt, even though nothing touched it. Boy, those OCD kids were awesome that way! "I'm sorry for prying on that subject. It's not my place."

Gripping the bed sheets, my feet dangled off the bed. From the bathroom, the water stopped running. I knew Mason was coming, and I wanted Kid out.

"No, it is your place though," even though a part of me didn't believe that, another part did. Actually, the latter part, it wanted Kid to know everything about me. Where I was from, my favorite things, and even more did I have the desire to know more about Death The Kid than what he let off. "Kid. You're my friend. You have a right to know." Looking up, I saw his eyes. The eyes were hypnotizing, and I felt drowsy. Blinking, I came with my final answer. "And since you're my friend, you should know that me and Mason are not together."

Something magical made my heart skip a beat, my breath to stop as I forgot all ways to survive. A small smile danced onto Kid's lips, all of his facial structures slightly softening. Was he happy that Mason and I weren't together? Did he like me too?

"So, you've finally realized that we're friends," his voice softer and lighter than I remember. Slightly furrowing my eyebrows, I thought back to when we were on the balcony, when I first started to have feelings for him, when he saved me from falling off, and when I made my decision to stay.

Then it hit me. Did I just stay for him?

"Hey Piper, Kid."

Jumping, I saw Mason, a white shirt being pulled down by him the second my eyes laid on him. Smiling, he ruffled his wet hair, drops of water falling from them. A black towel went around his neck, black sweatpants going down his legs.

"Mason! Kid and I were just talking," I basically screamed. Mason rose an eyebrow. "Um, okay," his voice suspicious. Looking over I saw no one there in the place my crush stood.

He left.

The rest of the day, Mason and I talked about ways we could track down the Meister, Crona.

"Crona was in Italy last, right," Mason asked. Nodding, he continued. "But does he actually live there?"

Biting my lip, I thought for a second. "Think about it this way, think like a Kishin. If they were to attack in Italy, wouldn't there be a meaning to Italy if they didn't live there?"

"Doubt it," Mason's tone gravel and scoffing. "The farther away from the place they attacked is the best headquarters, makes it less conspicuous and harder for us to find them before we kill them."

Rising an eyebrow at my partner, he mimicked my face. "What?"

"Headquarters Maziey?"

"WHAT?! I don't see why the Meister wouldn't have a home base or something?!"

"Mason, this isn't G.I Joe."

Laughing, Mason Laid back on the bed, his head hitting the pillow. "The funny part is that I never played with those toys."

My mouth literally dropped open. "Whaat? What kid hasn't played with a G.I Joe toy? That and Pokémon were my basic childhood!"

Mason used his hands, pushing up and looking me dead in the eye. "I thought you were an orphan?"

"I was," my eyes averted down. Suddenly, my hands were a cool thing to look at. "Even though I had twelve other kids growing up with me, they didn't really like me. They thought I was weird."

I didn't dare look up until I felt Mason's hand on my shoulder. He must've moved next to me when I was talking. "Piper Colby, you're not weird and I don't see why anyone would think that. Are you a Grim Reaper?"

Slightly giggling, I answered. "No."

"Can you turn into a Weapon?"

"No."

"Are you an Assassin?"

"No."

"THAN BY GOLLEY, ladies and germs please give a hand for Piper Colby, probably the most boring person in all of Death City!" Clapping his hands, I pushed Mason down onto the ground. Yes, he still was injured but think of it this way, if he has enough energy to mock me, than he's fine enough to get a shove to the ground.

The door opened, Dr. Medusa walking in. A smile came to y face, her smiling in return, the smile looking set on fire with the setting sun outside.

"Piper, good to see you all healthy," she started, moving towards us. "Lord Death would like to see you in the Death Room."

Looking towards Mason, we exchanged glances. Why would Lord Death need us?

Dr. Medusa spoke again. "He would like to see you. Now."

(Lord Death)

The mirror reflected throughout the halls of the DWMA. Once it finally caught the blob of red, I stopped searching. I had found Piper Colby and Mason West, both walking to the outsides of my room.

Even though I wasn't there, Piper waited, grabbing her partner's wrist once he reached to open the doors. She must not have figured out that I'm hardly ever one-on-one with my student's when assigning them a mission.

Why, of course! Why would the two know this? Mason was only a 1 stared Weapon, Piper not having any stars at all.

After all, this was the pair's first mission.

Well, this chapter sucked…

I honestly tried my best when writing this but it was hard to do so.

Now, let me clear something up! When Kid visits Piper, or Mason, don't really care who, I'll let you guy's imagine whatever you want (huh, Kid x Mason? Interesting…), that was probably somewhere between 2 PM- 3 PM. Kid and Black*Star don't go off to find Excalibur until sunset because if you notice the sky art, it is orange with little blue, signaling that it's sunset.

Now, I take back the 'two week' thing, about updating next. Realized halfway through that I still have yet to write Part 2 of Sk8ter Boi. Uh, oh….

Have a super awesome day!
