Chapter 9- Disaster Strikes!
Disclaimer- I repeat, I own nothing. Well, maybe except for a bottle of nail paint.
A/N- Well, well, darlings. Long time, no see! I know, I know- my fault. Sowwy? Anyhoo, here's the new chapter! Going to be pretty exciting!
Recap- Just as she was about to exit the Common Room, she yelled back, "Make sure that you're properly dressed and ready for the upcoming Hogsmeade weekend. After all, we have a lot of work ahead of us! Oh, and pick me up from the Head Dorms, will you" and she left with a secretive smile.
That pompous brat Malfoy was soon going to learn an important lesson- Never, ever mess with Hermione Granger.
Saturday morning dawned bright and early on Hermione and bathed her in the warm glow of the sunlight. She awoke with a start, and as reality set in, a mischievous grin made itself known on her face.
She rubbed her hands together in glee and cackled silently. With a positively devilish smirk, she glanced at the occupant of the other bed and thought, "What fun I'm going to have today! Poor, ickle Malfoy…tsk, tsk."
Then, she went about getting ready for the day. First, she took a quick shower, and made sure to shampoo with green apple-flavoured hair products. From a little titbit she overheard, it was Malfoy's favourite flavour. Consequently, it would be the one to intoxicate him the most, wouldn't it?
Whoever said Hermione Granger wasn't the type to plot elaborately was dead wrong.
After this, she went over to the walk-in closet in their room. She entered it, and glanced at the enchanted mirror inside, only to find herself staring at her own reflection. To her surprise, it spoke up and said, "Good morning! How may I help you?"
Hermione recovered from her initial shock and said, "Well, today's a special day for me. So simply put, I want to look drop dead gorgeous. Something that will really turn heads." At this point, she winced slightly at the rather snobby tone her voice had taken up. Toning it down, she continued, "U, do you have any suggestions for me?"
The reflection smirked and said, "You want something mind blowing? With me at your service, expect nothing less!"
But then, it frowned and said, "Would you be requiring the outfit for a date?"
When Hermione replied in the affirmative, her counter-part said, "Worry no more. I know exactly the outfit you need. With it, rest assured to have your mission successful!" it said with a naughty wink.
This said, it gestured to the far end of the closet, where all of Hermione's clothes were neatly organized and hung. Suddenly, a dress came zooming by, and halted in front of her in a gesture to look at it closely.
Once the conjured dress came into sight, Hermione's jaw dropped in surprise.
It was the classic LBD, or the Little Black Dress but with a much hotter, more modern look. It was strapless, and had a loose fringe along the plunging neckline. In the middle of the fringe was a deep V-cut that would give a tantalising hint of her cleavage.
By the looks of it, the dress would fit quite snugly at all the right places. The belt at the waist would hug her curves too. The hemline was relatively high, so the dress ended mid-thigh. A fringe similar to the one at the neckline bordered the bottom.
All in all, she would be a bombshell in that dress.
Just when she was done admiring the outfit, the reflection said, "Come now, hurry up and put this on. I have some jewellery to go with as well." Hermione heeded and quickly did so.
True to her word, Hermione's counter-part procured a pair of dazzling earrings and a choker necklace for her to wear. Along with this, she applied some subtle-looking makeup that enhanced her best features.
The result of all this was a goddess. Truly, if she put some effort in her appearance, she would always look this good, she sighed to herself. But then again, there were more important things to tend to- like a good education. Thinking so, she spritzed on some green apple perfume and walked, no, strutted out of their room.
As her detailed plan mentioned, she spotted Malfoy in the Common Room, lounging on one of the couches there with a (green) apple in his hand.
Draco was just about to take a bite out of the delicious fruit, when he saw a goddess-like young woman step out of their room. His jaw dropped open in surprise at the miraculous transformation of bookworm Granger to a devilishly hot…ahem…fiend. Yeah.
In an effort to cover up his rather blatant surprise, he sneered and said, "What's up, Granger? Going to meet someone, are you? Not that I care."
In response, that infuriating woman Granger raised a delicate eyebrow and said, "Yes, I am meeting special someone. Of course, not that it's any of your business."
Draco felt a surge of something strange and bitter through his body. For reasons unknown to him, he had the great urge to clench his fists and go punch someone. Suddenly, a scary thought entered his mind. Surely he, Draco Malfoy wasn't feeling…jealous?
This very notion made him shudder for a full minute. Dismissing such ludicrous ideas from his head, he went back to eating the (green) apple in his head. Just then, they heard a faint knock on the Portrait Door.
With a bright smile, Hermione rushed to the front to open the door and welcome her guest in. Who was, none other than the (not so) great Ronald Weasley, with a watery smile on his face. And a crumpled and wilted bouquet of flowers in his hand.
Sighing, she leaned towards him and whispered, "Ronald Bilius Weasley, listen carefully. I asked you to dress up well and come like a real gentleman for once and you have messed that up badly, mister. I can only hope that you will at the least behave well and act your part properly. Else, you know the consequences" she said with a glint in her eyes.
With an audible gulp, he nodded his head fiercely. Taking this as a cue, Hermione ushered him into the Common Room and invited him to one of the couches there.
As he settled down, she smiled at him and said, "Do wait here, darling. I'll just fetch my coat and purse in the meantime" she said with a wink.
After she bounded back into their room, Draco turned to the redhead and said, "Well, well, Weasley. Looks like the Wonder Pair are actually dating. Never thought of Granger as the type who dated, though."
With a rare display of wit and confidence, Ron said, "Oh, really? Why, were you planning to date her?"
This sudden turn in the conversation left Draco sputtering and fumbling for words. Determined not to let the Weasel have the last word, he said, "No, not at all. Just wondering if anyone would give your pathetic self a chance at all."
Ron chuckled inwardly at what Malfoy was trying to cover up. Well, no matter how hard he tried to suppress it, Hermione would extract it each and every piece from him. After he heard how she was going to do it, he didn't doubt the success of her mission at all.
And he also grew much more scared of Hermione Granger.
A/N- Yes, people, I know there are a multitude of cliff hangers. But I like to limit my chapters to about a thousand words and this one crossed the limit. So I'm breaking up a long and lengthy chapter into two shorter ones.
Also, I couldn't bear to reveal all the suspense just now! Teehee.
