Gossip Girl: Legacy
Chapter Nine- We Got Things To Do
Laying back on the examining table, Blair stared up at the ceiling as the waiting game had been gruesome from her. With alarming pains that came on all at once, Blair had never felt so scared than she did earlier on in the day. Thankful that her mother had planned to do a surprise visit, Eleanor quickly got her daughter to the hospital and eased her through the pain. Feeling the comforts of having her mother with her, Blair got a grip on the pain until it eventually subsided. Now in the examining room, Blair's only concern was the babies and if they were okay in all that she endured. Pacing the floor, Eleanor kept eyeing the clock as her patience began to wear thin until she was finally relieved to see the doctor make her way in.
"My favorite patient" Dr. Patterson smiled as she took her seat on the stool
"Just give it to me straight, I can handle the news….well, I actually can't because I'm a bit on the emotional side at this point in time, but if you were to piece by piece break it down to me…." Blair began to babble
"What my daughter is alluding to is everything okay?" Eleanor asked
"Clearly it's not, I'm in the hospital for crying out loud. Are the babies okay?" Blair asked as Dr. Patterson laughed for a moment "I'm glad my health premiums can provide laughter in my time of crisis" she replied sarcastically
"I'm sorry. Everything is fine" Dr. Patterson told her in a reassuring tone
"Then what was the pain and ache feeling I experienced today?" Blair asked
"You experienced what was called Braxton Hicks" Dr. Patterson told her
"That sounds familiar, that's like false labor, right?" Eleanor asked
"They're contractions that tend to come somewhat more often, but until you get to your last few weeks, they'll probably remain infrequent, irregular, and essentially painless. Sometimes, though, Braxton Hicks contractions are hard to distinguish from early signs of preterm labor" Dr. Patterson said
"So with me being seven months, should I expect more of this?" Blair asked
"They will pick up, but you've probably had them and just never felt them" Dr. Patterson told her
"How can I tell the difference between Braxton Hicks and the real thing, the actual real deal labor?" Blair asked
"In the days or weeks before labor, Braxton Hicks contractions may intermittently become rhythmic, relatively close together, and even painful, possibly fooling you into thinking you're in labor. But unlike true labor, during this so-called false labor the contractions don't grow consistently longer, stronger, and closer together" Dr. Patterson told her "60 percent of all twins and more than 90 percent of triplets are born prematurely before 37 weeks. The average twin pregnancy lasts 35 weeks" she told her
"So I'll be going in to labor early?" Blair asked with a bit of concern
"Most likely, but I'm telling you this to urge you to get prepared and start doing the things I told you to do" Dr. Patterson said "You're fine, the babies are fine" she told her as Blair breathed a sigh of relief "I do want you relieve yourself from all stress. It's not good for the babies" she said as she wrote on Blair's charts
"I've been telling my daughter to ease up on work and school…." Eleanor began to say
"Which I can't do because I'm planning to graduate this year and I have a pending mall to build in Los Angeles of all places" Blair quickly added
"And on that note, I'm prescribing a week of bed rest. I mean it Blair, I want you to relieve yourself of this stress and take care of yourself" Dr. Patterson said before her beeper began to go off "And clearly your husband is on the line to hear the prescription I'm about to give you" she said
"Wait, no!" Blair began to say before Dr. Patterson left the room. Looking over at her mother, Blair just gave her a look of disbelief "You called him? I specifically told you not to" she said
"You were scared and I figured you'd want him here. Plus he would've been mad if I didn't" Eleanor reasoned
"Yes, I know but Dan is going to be worried and freak out the whole flight over. I was fine by the time we got in the car" Blair said
"I couldn't take that chance, not with my grandchildren" Eleanor replied
"Oh, don't go all grandmother on me now" Blair replied
"Why were you even talking with Andrew anyways? I bet whatever you two were discussing was what got you all stressed" Eleanor stated "What was important so that you even got him all worried?" she asked as Blair thought back for a moment.
[Flashback]
Turning off her television as she had reached her peek of boredom, Blair let out a sigh as she tossed the remote. With the girls leaving not too long ago, Blair lounged around the house and did minimal work. Thinking over what Dan had told her earlier, Blair couldn't imagine leaving New York for the likes of Los Angeles. Wondering how that could all work to where she could support her husband and keep her hopes of always being in New York, Blair felt herself truly thinking about it all for the first time like never before. Torn out of her thoughts by the sound of her phone ringing, Blair walked over to pick it up.
"Hello" Blair answered the phone
"I've got what you wanted. I've made it back to New York" Andrew said
"Good, I guess now is as good as time as any to know the truth" Blair said as she walked towards the window to look out
"I looked into Ivy Dickens, found out she's had quite the scandals in college. Paid off debts from professors from affairs for grades, and money transferred for spending. That all came to an end upon the wife finding out" Andrew said
"That doesn't shock me" Blair sighed
"As far as her current presence, that's the problem that arose for me" Andrew said
"How so?" Blair asked
"Ivy Dickens was last seen in Tahiti and from a local, said someone had paid a heavy fee to have her kidnapped. Said she had information that was vital. I found images of her then showing up in Monaco" Andrew said
"Monaco? Why would she be in Monaco?" Blair asked
"I don't know, but I know that Monaco would be her end" Andrew said "Ivy Dickens was killed in Monaco. Meaning, whoever is in New York is not Ivy Dickens" he said as Blair froze for a moment before dropping the phone from her hand.
[End of Flashback]
Nudging her daughter softly on the shoulder, Eleanor looked on at Blair with a bit of concern. Coming back to her reality of the moment, Blair felt her mother's touch as she looked over at her. Looking on at her mother, knowing that all she wanted for her two kids was to get along, Blair didn't have the heart to tell her of the news she had discovered. For that moment, Blair had to rack her brain for a good enough lie to buy herself time to get out of her presence unscathed. Forcing a fake smile as she looked on at her mother, Blair could only do what came to her first.
"Business as usual" Blair replied "Andrew was scouting the property for me out in Los Angeles, and I didn't like the pending taxes we'd incur" she said
"Well, I hope that you've learned your lesson in all of this. These last couple of months are crucial in your pregnancy and you need to focus on you. You need prioritize your tasks, have someone handle this for you" Eleanor told her
"I was thinking the same thing" Blair smiled on at her mother
Meanwhile….
Looking on at his phone as he read his mother's text message that gave positive feedback on his sister. Making a mental note to go see his sister, Tyler wanted to put forth the effort to be the big brother that she needed. Knowing that they had their opposing opinions, Tyler still felt like having his sister in his life was an important thing that he needed to keep at all costs. Turning the corner as he walked, Tyler looked up to see the girl that he had set out to find upon realizing that she had gone missing from the loft. Seeing her stand in front of the house that had the for sale sign in the front, Tyler walked up beside her.
"I used to love the outside of this house. Don't know why, but I loved how beautiful it looked" Katie said after a few moments of silence "This was the one thing that my parents put pride in" she said letting out a little laugh "….my grandfather would always make his suggestions on what it needed to be perfect. He'd always praise them for keeping things perfect on the outside" she said as Tyler looked on to see the emotion that was on her face
"How long has it been on the market?" Tyler asked
"I really can't say, must've been recent. I worked up the nerve to come back and saw that the sign was here" Katie sighed "I guess my dad has finally worked up the nerve to get rid of it….maybe Georgy knew and forgot to mention" she said
"Getting in touch with your sister these days are not as easy as it once was. I'm a bit concerned" Tyler said
"She's resourceful. Besides, getting close to Jack is more of getting him past his paranoia. Every move they make has to be careful" Katie said "I'm sure she'll reach out to you soon, that's if you want her to" she said looking over at Tyler, who looked at her suspiciously
"Speaking of sisters not talking, my sister was rushed to the hospital…." Tyler began to say as Katie quickly turned to face him
"Blair? How is she? Is she okay?" Katie asked with concern all over her face
"She had Braxton Hicks, I guess it's like false labor. My mom said that she's at home with Dan as we speak" Tyler told her "I was on my way over but then I saw you" he said
"You should really start with her being okay first before you scare me" Katie quickly replied "I bet she was nervous. Blair was never one for hospitals, she'd avoid them at all costs" she said as a little laugh escaped her "I went with her to get her flu shot one time. She had stalled as long as possible but Harold wouldn't allow her to put it off any longer, so he threatened to stop payment on this antique doll that she had to have. So we went to her family doctor and he's waiting with his shot tray in his office. She nearly passed out because she was just so nervous. In order for her to take the shot, I had to promise that I'd carry out the lawsuit against her doctor, should anything happen to her" she laughed as she relived the story
"You seem to have a lot of memories of a good past, kind of makes me confused as to why you didn't tell anyone about what was going on?" Tyler questioned as Katie looked on in a bit of her own head space
"I'm beginning to ask myself that question as well" Katie said before she stepped forward to grab the last open house flyer that was in the box, which was addressed for Sunday.
Glancing on at his phone as the vibrations of the incoming text caught his attention, Carter looked on at his phone to see that Eleanor had sent out a group message to assure everyone that Blair was okay. Breathing a sigh of relief, Carter put his phone to the side as he looked up to see Griffin, his publisher friend, making his way back to the table with a mermosa in hand, Carter could tell that Griffin was enjoying the bikini clad girls that walked around poolside. Taking a sip of his champagne, Carter looked on at his friend with much intrigue as to what he could possibly want. Knowing Griffin the way he did, Carter knew well enough that Griffin was up to something and wasn't buying drinks for the hell of it. Enjoying the wait and Griffin sweating it out, Carter just waited patiently.
"Can I get another round of drinks for the table?" Griffin asked the passing waitress
"Uh, no. We're good" Carter quickly stopped the request as he couldn't help but laugh "Griff, why don't you just cut the bull and get down to the point of things?" he asked
"Why do you think that?" Griffin asked
"Because I know you Griff. I know that sneaky, creepy, sick and disgusting mind of yours. You invite me poolside of your father's hotel, allowing me the idea morning that typically would be great in my opinion. But now, you just make me feel cheap with all of this. I couldn't have been this easy to please" Carter said as he looked around at the numerous girls that flaunted little to no clothing "Just cut to the chase and tell me what you want, and I might be able to help you" he told him as he egged his friend on "C'mon Griff, tell the truth. You know you want to, tell the truth. Just tell it" he teased
"Alright fine, I may have tried to lure you in with all of this" Griffin admitted
"The truth will set you free" Carter laughed as he leaned back in his chair with his glass of champagne in hand "What do you want?" he asked "Hell, how much will this cost me?" he quickly added
"It won't cost you anything. It'll actually be very beneficial to you" Griffin told him "A book, a biography of some sense" he said
"Why would I want to write a biography?" Carter questioned "That's for the dead or financially unstable" he stated
"Hear me out" Griffin quickly stated "There's this book on the market, this guy writing about his sexual conquests. All the women he's banged. It got a lot of interest and was projected to be a good read for all for the sake of Fifty Shade feel but come to find out, the guy lied about it all. Every bit of fan base he was acquiring went downhill" he said
"And you're telling me this why?" Carter asked
"Because I've been watching you….I didn't mean for that to sound creepy…." Griffin began to say
"You really did sound creepy on that" Carter quickly added
"What I meant to say is that I see how you're going back in your past with these girls. I mean you're dating back towards high school with the girls your appearing with, and you discard them like nothing afterwards…." Griff began to say
"You have the wrong idea on that" Carter said "I'm not doing the whole date em' and leave em" he said
"Then why not get committed?" Griffin asked "Where's the saddle from the old maid?" he asked
"First off, who talks like that?!" Carter questioned "I'm not committing because none of the girls I've appeared with are the girl for me. The others….their girls I'm trying to make things right with, that's all" he said
"A playboy on redemption, doesn't sound as good" Griffin thought to himself for a few moments
"I'm not a playboy" Carter said "That's just something blown out of proportion" he said
"Yeah, something that worked for you" Griffin said "Carter, if anyone can write this book and make the kind of splash it was supposed to make, it can be you" he said
"Why would I want it to be me?" Carter asked "Why would I want to write this type of book of all things?" he asked
"Because this is the book that could stand to make you legendary in New York. When tourist would come, they'd say get this book because Carter Baizen lives among us. You'd be a tourist site for those local and abroad" Griffin said
"And let me guess, you'd want to pitch the idea and get credit on it?" Carter asked
"A certain percentage but I'm just going where the story is. Carter, this is an opportunity to be a made man on your own" Griffin told him as he jotted down the information on the card "This could be beneficial for you. Don't turn it down" he told him as Carter thought to himself, seriously considering the offer
"I'll think about it" Carter said
"Seriously?!" Griffin asked
"Yeah, seriously. Don't hold me to anything, but I will entertain your thought"I've got something to tend to" Carter said as he finished up his glass of champagne as he got up from his seat "Next time, you should've went with a taco theme. Very into the guacamole these days" he told his friend as Griffin cursed himself for not taking that route
Meanwhile….
Slowly stirring awake from her sleep, April looked on at the sunlight peeking through the curtains as she lay in the bed. For the first moment she lay awake, April couldn't help but think of the kiss she shared with Carter the other night. Why did she let him kiss her? Why did she kiss back? Why was she even thinking about him? She questioned herself in the moments of silence that she had. Shaking her head, April couldn't believe that once again she had jeopardized her relationship with Patrick, especially after all she felt for him. Patrick was everything to her, he was the guy that was her equal on so many things that made her feel like he was an extension of her own self. Why mess with something so perfect? She questioned before she was torn out of her thoughts by the sound of the bathroom door opening up. Focusing in on her boyfriend, April quickly rose up on the bed. Pulling him in to a passionate kiss, April began to pull him towards her before they fell back on the bed. Kissing passionately, April quickly rolled on top of Patrick before relieving herself of her shirt. Running his hands on her thighs, Patrick eagerly broke away and began to kiss her neck.
"You sure?" Patrick asked in between kisses
"Positive" April replied as Patrick rolled back on top of her "…do you have?" she began to ask as she alluded to condoms
"Oh…yeah. In my bedside" Patrick said before he pulled back to open up the drawer next to his bed to see that it was empty "….or maybe not" he said as he looked on
"Well, we'd kind of need them" April replied
"Carter should have some. He always has condoms on hand" Patrick declared excitedly before April quickly grabbed him
"No, we can't use Carter's condoms" April replied quickly
"What's wrong with his condoms?" Patrick asked
"What isn't wrong with them. I'm sorry, I just don't want to use your cousins on our first time of consummating our relationship" April said before Patrick took a moment to think. Once again rummaging through his drawers, Patrick jumped up in celebration as he had found a condom in the back of his drawer "Condom?" she asked with a bit of hope
"Condom" Patrick replied as he leaned forward to capture her lips with his. Kissing feverishly, Patrick ran his hands up her thigh towards her underwear. Slowly tugging on them, April began to assist in help him before his phone began to go off. "Crap" he muttered against her lips
"Ignore it" April replied as her phone began to go off "And now it's mine" she groaned
"Look, we can pick this up. We will pick this up" Patrick told her "Special night and all" he said as April looked on with a bit of disappointment while Patrick took the call
Looking on at her message from Eleanor, Serena breathed a sigh of relief to know that Blair was okay. Quickly relaying the message of Blair being okay to everyone else, Serena turned her phone off and put it down on the kitchen counter. Glancing up to see the mess that Sean had cleaned up from her breakdown, Serena couldn't seem to forget how she had completely lost it on her boyfriend. Making her way out of the kitchen, Serena headed towards the bedroom to see Michael sitting up on the bed while a half awake Sean played with the little boy. Unable to hide the smile that was on her face as she walked to get in on her side of the bed. Looking over to see her, Sean looked on to see that she wasn't worried or overly concerned, so things must've been okay.
"How was she?" Sean asked
"Good. Eleanor said it was just Braxton Hicks" Serena replied "Her and the babies are fine" she said
"I knew it had to be that. Ro used to get those like crazy. We'd go to the hospital every other week because she thought it was the actual labor" Sean replied
"I'm just glad they're both okay" Serena said as she played with Michael, unsure of what to feel about the silence between them as they both put their attention towards the boy
"What you told me earlier, how long have you felt that way?" Sean asked "If you don't mind me asking" he said as Serena and he made eye contact
"….ever since I found out" Serena replied
"You know, it's not wrong that you feel that. Your dad put you in a tough spot" Sean said
"I don't like feeling that" Serena quickly replied "I don't know how to explain it, but…it's something I can't deny" she said
"Which is understandable" Sean told her as another silence came between them "I hope that someday you'll explain it to me" he said as Serena looked on at him for a few moments, reading him to see that he had genuine concern of wanting to understand how she felt
"Maybe someday could be sooner, preferably today" Serena said
"What do you mean?" Sean asked
"Come with me to see my therapist. After last night, I think a different approach is needed. I can't avoid them anymore" Serena said as Sean nodded
"Okay, I'll go with you" Sean said as Serena gave a weak smile before they continued to enjoy their afternoon by playing with the little boy that had no clue of anything but that he was happy.
Rubbing her stomach as she read the manual, Blair looked on to see Dan walking around in search of the piece she had told him he would need. Looking back at the illustration on the manual, Blair felt like the manuals always made things seem much easier than what they actually were. Growing bored of reading the manual, Blair put it down in her lap while she hoped Dan had grown tired of it as well. Seeing the look of determination that was on his face as he searched, Blair let out a sigh as she knew giving up on constructing these cribs was the last thing he wanted to do. Finding the piece, Dan quickly took it to screw on to the other end of the crib that was slowly coming together.
"I thought this would be more exciting, this whole me reading instructions to you" Blair stated
"We're almost done. Why am I say we? I'm almost done. It's this whole last piece that is making things difficult" Dan replied as she screwed on a piece
"I can assist more in helping you with that last piece if I had a certain twinkie…." Blair began to say
"Healthy eating, you're doctor told said this" Dan quickly replied
"You know, when I envisioned you coming home to take care of me, I saw you with chili fries in hand and possibly without your shirt off" Blair told him
Look, I get that you have your likes, but the closer that we get we have to make sure that we're doing all the right things" Dan said "So I got a grocery list of things to eat while pregnant and the recipes to go along with it. Some of the stuff you might actually like" he said as Blair looked on at the recipes that were in the brochure that he had picked up
"Lentils over brown rice. Salmon with carrots, okay this officially sounds disgusting" Blair quickly replied
"Beans contain the most fiber and protein of all the vegetables. It's important to get enough protein during pregnancy, but you may not yet realize that fiber could become your new best friend. When you're pregnant, your gastrointestinal tract slows down, putting you at risk for constipation and hemorrhoids. Fiber can help prevent and relieve these problems" Dan informed her "And salmon…." He began to say
"I think I get it, you've caught up on your flight over. My doctor isn't the one with swollen ankles and hunger cravings" Blair said "Yes, I agree that the chili with onions is a bit on the disgusting side, but you can't judge me" she said
"I'm not judging, publically" Dan replied as Blair just gave him a look
"I actually feel better knowing about these whole Braxton Hicks deal. I mean granted the pain was excruciating, due to the fact that my pain tolerance is low, but knowing is better than not knowing what to expect" Blair said
"Is that before or after Andrew had to call your mom because you were screaming out on the phone? And why were you talking with Andrew? Isn't he Chuck's private investigator?" Dan asked as Blair took a moment to think as she was once again reminded of the news she had learned
"I needed him to scout out the property in Los Angeles that we're acquiring. It was strictly business" Blair replied as she knew telling Dan the truth about her endeavors would only make him more worried
"Well, I hope you scale back a little with business. Avoiding stress is going to be key for you these last couple of months" Dan said
"And let me guess, you read this on you flight over?" Blair asked
"No, I gathered that when I see my wife is in no shape to do any type of scheming at this point" Dan replied as he went back to putting the crib together while Blair looked on at the instructions once again
"You know this could've been done much quicker if you didn't cancel the order for it to be put together" Blair told him
"We don't need to pay someone to put together a crib. It's pretty self-explanatory" Dan replied
"I'm reading these instructions, nothing about what I'm reading is self-explanatory in any sense" Blair replied
"Yes, it may take some time but I'm ensuring that it's done correctly" Dan stated
"You're not the handy man type. I mean you tried fixing the pipes in the kitchen, but then we had to end up staying at my mom's so the real plumber had to come fix what you messed up" Blair replied "Let's not even discuss how you thought you could hang the flat screen on the wall and it fell just as I watching one of my favorite show..." she began to say
"You know, you could be one of those wives is supportive and believes that their husband can do anything" Dan stated as Blair laughed
"Where would the fun be in that?" Blair laughed as he went back to constructing the crib "How'd Lyle take it when you told him you were flying out on such late notice?" she asked
"I didn't really give him much time to take it. I just left. I got the news and got on the plane" Dan said
"I'm sure you'll have a lot of work to deal with when you get back. You know, you're actually being rumored to be signed on to that show you were telling me about" Blair said
"It's actually not a rumor, it's sort of in the works" Dan said
"As a screenwriter?" Blair asked
"Yeah, he loved the collaboration we did on the script and the actors really like the material….so he wanted to continue with the story arc for the remainder of the season" Dan told her
"Wow, you're getting a story arc?" Blair asked with pure excitement in her voice for her husband as he broke the news to her "This is something you could get Emmy recognition for" she said
"Emmy recognition would be a bit of a stretch" Dan replied
"Not really, you're writing for television. It's a drama and last I check you can get awards for that. Humphrey, you're morphing into the amazingness that went beyond my idea man" Blair said
"Thanks, I think" Dan replied before he lifted the crib up so that it was standing. Eyeing the finished product, Dan smiled proudly on at the crib that he had put together. "It's perfect" he said in awe of the crib
"Is this a guy thing?" Blair asked
"Yes, yes it is" Dan smiled as he walked up to admire his work
"Good, now you can spend another three hours constructing the second" Blair said as he looked over at the other box, silently mourning the fact that he'd have to go through the frustrations of putting up another crib.
It might seem crazy what I'm about to say
Sunshine she's here, you can take a break
I'm a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don't care baby by the way
Turning over the price tag on the stroller, Blair couldn't help but find that it was a reasonable price. Motioning for Dan to come over, Blair was eager to show Dan of her findings that would bring the stroller shopping to its final conclusion of the day. Walking over to observe the stroller, Dan scanned the wording on the box before he reached the safety portion of what was on the box. Shaking his head, Dan gave his look of disapproval on the product before he quickly ran over to grab the stroller that he liked. Eyeing the intricate details of the stroller, Dan grabbed a fake baby from the toy section to demonstrate why his stroller was the best. Folding her arms, Blair began to entertain Dan's selection as he began to model the stroller for her. Watching as he walked with the stroller, Dan smiled on at his selection before the stroller quickly collapsed and fell to the floor. Looking on in horror at what was going on, the icing on the cake of was the baby's head popping off and rolling out.
"It wasn't supposed to…." Dan began to say before Blair quickly grabbed her stroller that she chose and walked off with it to go pay
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Dropping the bag onto the table, Dan quickly gained the women's attention as they immediately stopped their conversation. Glancing at each other, Eleanor and Dorota were eager to find out what Dan had assembled them for. Leaning forward to see that it was baby proofing products, Blair rolled her eyes as she couldn't believe that Dan was still on his safety kick. Passing out the safety kit tools, Dan began to open up his own. Pulling out the wall plug, Dan inserted it in the nearest outlet to show how it was supposed to go. Grabbing the glass of water that was on the table, Dan illustrated how it was supposed to work should something happen as the women stood back in disbelief that he seriously thought they were that clueless to what went into taking care of children. Reaching to pull the plug out, Dan found that he was quickly electrocuted to Blair's surprise
"Oh, my God! Humphrey, you don't touch a circuit with water on hands" Blair exclaimed as he she went to his aid
Here come bad news talking this and that, yeah,
Well, give me all you got, and don't hold it back, yeah,
Well, I should probably warn you I'll be just fine, yeah,
No offense to you, don't waste your time
Here's why
Flipping through the designs the party planner had of the baby shower invitations, Blair couldn't help but love what she was seeing. Planning to send out to baby shower invites that were one of each gender, Blair felt like the more she planned, the more excited she was to have the party. Glancing on at the boy invitation, Dan nodded with consent as he liked and approved of the invite. Handing over the girl invite, Dan nodded as usual since his only concern at this point was to get home. Shaking her head as she knew Dan was just trying to do all he could to get out of the planning, Blair just laughed to herself as she had no care to ease up on the torture of her husband.

Making her way into the club, April kept her eyes focused on her cell phone as she made it a point to text and avoid as much as possible. Reading Serena's message over and over, April was glad to see that Blair was okay and that the babies were doing just fine. Since the kiss with Carter, April couldn't help but feel the guilt of kissing Patrick's cousin and the fact that she kissed back. Why'd she do that? Why would she hurt Patrick? April questioned herself as her relationship with Patrick was the single greatest thing in her life at this moment. Finding that she had to work with Carter on this Angels and Devils event that they were throwing at Victrola, April knew she'd have to keep things strictly professional with Carter at all times. Walking up towards Jenny and Justine, April could see that her friend was taking charge of the stage set-up.
"You're late" Jenny said as she put her clipboard down on the table and picked up another
"Sorry, I was…trying to get a better morning sendoff" April sighed
"Wow, I forget that you're not a virgin anymore. I presume you were trying to lock that in with Patrick. Is he still the boyfriend?" Justine asked
"Yes, he's still the boyfriend. Why would you think anything else?" April questioned
"Due to what I've learned as of recent, we were just beginning to wonder" Justine replied as they walked and inspected the staging
"Yeah, I mean are we in a literal triangle?" Jenny asked
"No, I'm with Patrick. I plan to sleep with Patrick" April smiled
"Because that's just something you naturally schedule" Justine replied sarcastically "If you're going to have sex that's supposed to be a primal thing, something that just happens" she said
"Thank you, it would've just happen this morning if our phones didn't go off" April reasoned
"Again, a primal thing" Justine laughed
"And you? You revealed some tidbits of surprise. How are you holding up with working with Chuck?" April asked
"I'm holding up nicely, I'm dating and being single" Jenny replied "It's not like things are weird around us, we can work together" she said with a bit of a smirk
"As can I with what's his name" April replied as Jenny looked over to see Chuck and Carter making their way into the club
"Let's test that theory" Jenny laughed as she told her friend
"You've started so early, looks good" Chuck said as he greeted Jenny with a hug while April focused on her phone to avoid Carter's eye contact
"Blair won't be joining us, she's officially been put on bed rest" Jenny said
"Which basically means that she's driving Dan insane with baby shower stuff" Carter chimed in to say with a bit of a laugh
"She's having twins, she shouldn't be pushing herself" April quickly replied
"And I agree to that. Simply stating what we all know to be true, Blair is not going to take bed rest lying down" Carter replied as he could sense that April was a bit snippy with him in her comments. Sensing the tension, Chuck looked on at the two a bit suspiciously before turning his attention to Jenny
"Staging, let's talk that" Chuck said
"So, for the staging, I made it a wrap around so that the crowd can see all throughout. The band will be set up on the main stage, burlesque music of course. The big screens will be towards midway for those that can't be up close" Jenny described
"The girls, where will they be?" Carter asked after a moment of thought as April just rolled her eyes
"It figures you'd biggest concern would be the girls" April replied
"We have three trailers that are directly connected to the hallways. The girls won't have the commotion that it was last time. This will enable them to have their own make-up station with the stylists we have lined up" Jenny replied
"Girls as in models, the ones that will carry the show" Carter said as he looked over at April to prove his point
"What's the budget on this?" Chuck asked
"Before you get upset, just trust that I will have this event packed as this is not just a Victrola event, it's a It-Girl event as well" Jenny replied
"Will It-Girl be footing the difference in the budget we've allotted?" Chuck questioned
"You're betting against me?" Jenny asked
"This has nothing to do with you" Chuck replied
"Then you'll be satisfied enough to know that you'll be so thrilled that you will foot the bill, all of it, because I will not only get you more clients, I will make this the event of the year" Jenny stated
"That's a bold proclamation" Carter replied
"We could always do strippers, that'll stay very much in your budget of things" Justine stated sarcastically as she looked on at the guys "We're good at what we do, if you're not willing to spend the money then we'll be unable to put on the event you paid us to do" she joined in to say as Chuck looked on at Carter
"We have a social media base that will come once the news breaks. We're talking a midnight tweet that will get over hundreds of people to pack this place and then buy merchandise. In some cases, we're helping you more than the other way around" April replied
"That's bold" Chuck replied with a bit of grin "Attacking our marketing and all" he said
"I've seen it, we do better" Jenny said
"Oh what the hell, let's take a leap of faith. Victrola could use the attention" Carter said
"Fine. I'll put faith in this established base you have" Chuck replied
"Faith in me will only lead to good things" Jenny smiled as Chuck just shook his head
"Yeah, yeah" Chuck told her before he walked off
"Men" Jenny sighed as she looked on at Carter and April "I have to….oversee something. Not sure what it is, but I want to find out" she said before she walked off to leave the two alone much to April's dismay. Once again turning her attention back to her phone, April began to walk away before Carter followed behind
"You know that can only work for so long, this whole looking at your phone deal" Carter replied
"I'm working. I'm a very busy person" April said
"I can see, but surely you can spare a moment" Carter said as he pulled his phone out and began to text
"Time is money" April replied before her phone began to vibrate as she had received a message from Carter "Really?" she questioned as she turned to face him
"Yes, really" Carter replied "We have to talk about what happened between us…." He began to say
"What happened? Nothing happened. I've forgotten what has happened because its simply not that memorable" April began to say as Carter laughed
"Okay, I can understand this lie about you being busy but me kissing you would always be memorable. I'm a memorable kisser" Carter replied
"You know, while you're being so full of yourself, you forget that what we did was wrong" April stated
"Some things that are wrong can be right" Carter quickly replied
"In what delusional world do you honestly think that works?!" April questioned
"The one that states that you kissed me back. You could've held this stance and not kiss back but you kissed back, meaning you weren't as repulsed as you claim to be" Carter said
"A lapse in judgment. Impaired by alcohol" April replied
"So that's your story?" Carter asked
"It's not a story, it's the truth" April replied
"Then this next couple of days should be hard for you" Carter replied
"Not really, I plan to avoid you at all cost so that I can continue to forget" April replied
"I'm happy that you have that goal. Let's hope that can hold up, I'm replacing Jenny as point and putting you as point on this" Carter replied
"Wait, what?" April asked in complete shock "You can't do that, Chuck has to agree to that
"Yeah, with you guys exceeding the budget, I'm a bit concerned with how the money will be spent for event. I will oversee the purchases and I will assist you in the extras that need to be purchased. Let's just say, for every decision made we'll be joined at the hip" Carter said
"This is ridiculous" April replied
"No, its business" Carter smiled as April looked on at him angrily "I believe we have to meet with investors, they'll be expecting full detail on Victrola" he said as he looked on at his watch.
"I can't stand you" April groaned in frustration as she stomped off, leaving Carter to laugh to himself.
Pouring salad dressing on her salad, Blair looked on with disdain as this was her option of food for the evening. Grabbing her fork hesitantly, Blair began to chew on her food while Dan made his way out of the office with his laptop in hand. Eagerly going through the information that he was reading through, Dan took a seat at the table along with Blair. Looking on at the screen, Blair could see that he was looking into local birthing classes. Jotting down information on a napkin, Blair attempted to get up from her seat before Dan stopped her from doing so as he took the plate for her into the kitchen.
"You know, you can come up from air from all this baby stuff" Blair told him as he came out of the kitchen
"What are you talking about? I'm finding great things" Dan said as he headed back into the dining area to join her as he sat beside her "Look, we've still got things to cover on the pregnancy check list" he said
"A hospital bag, child care interviewing" Blair read
"Yeah, we've only scratched the surface" Dan told her
"Well it's not like we have to do them all in one weekend. You should relax and enjoy this little bit of time you have off before you have to go" Blair said
"We gotta talk. These are things that are important, I mean what do we do with child care? You and I both work" Dan said
"We'd obviously have to bring in a nanny, possibly Dorota" Blair said as Dan gave her a look "You can't blame me for going that route" she said letting out a little laugh
"We'd need two" Dan told her as he leaned back in his chair
"I hardly think that we'd a nanny for each baby…" Blair began to say
"I mean for the two states. Granted we plan to both be together at all times, but for the times we'd be in Los Angeles or in New York, it'd be necessary" Dan said
"I don't think we'd be out in Los Angeles long enough to have a nanny, I mean it'd be something we could handle on the short time period of the duration. New York on the other hand, it'd be home. It'd be our home front" Blair said
"….not necessarily" Dan sighed "I mean work could have me in Los Angeles for some time" he said
"You're doing a story arc, which can be written anywhere" Blair stated
"Which I understand, but with the movie…it's not that simple" Dan told her
"It is" Blair replied "We live in New York. Our home is New York. Your family and my family are in New York. It has to be that simple" she told him
"Look, I really don't want to get in to that. Let's just enjoy the time we have together and focus on the things we can do to be prepared" Dan told her before he leaned forward to kiss her on to forehead "I want to be home with you. I'm glad to be home with you" he said as she rested her head in the crook of his neck
"And I'm semi-glad to have you home" Blair said as Dan laughed
"Why because of the food dictatorship?" Dan asked with a bit of laughter
"Yes, this whole bed rest thing is supposed to be enjoyable" Blair said
"I could make it enjoyable" Dan said as he slid his hand down to her feet, putting them on his lap as she smiled
"This by far is the best form of seduction, you've ever done" Blair said as he began to massage her feet causing her to moan with pleasure while Dan just laughed.
Sitting in silence for a few moments as they sat in the doctor's waiting room, Sean wasn't quite sure what to do as they waited. Was he supposed to pretend like this was just nothing? Was he supposed to ask her what she's feeling? Was he supposed to be in a certain state of mind? So many questions ran through his mind as to how he should be at this point. Looking around the room, Sean couldn't help but feel like this was everything he thought would be of a therapist office. Hearing the sound of the door opening, Serena quickly looked up from her magazine to see that the receptionist was ready to bring her and Sean back. Getting up from their seats, Sean followed behind Serena as they entered into the oversized room to take their seat on the cliché couch that was always to be found in a therapist office.
"I see we have a guest with us this time around" Dr. Han said as he looked on at Sean
"Dr. Han, this is my boyfriend, Sean Anderson" Serena introduced
"Sean, nice to meet you" Dr. Han replied
"Same to you" Sean replied
"So what made you bring your boyfriend along?" Dr. Han asked as Sean and Serena glanced over at each other for a moment
"….because as you know, these past couple of weeks have been hard. In that…I've found it easier to shut down in my relationship" Serena replied
"And I'm assuming something happened to make you want to bring him" Dr. Han said as he knew well enough
"….I think when you chuck a vase at your boyfriend's head, it's cause for concern" Serena smiled weakly
"With all fairness, I pushed her to her breaking point" Sean said
"And you felt you had to?" Dr. Han asked
"Yes, I mean we weren't talking about one of the most important things that was going on in her life" Sean said "….there's a lot that I have yet to learn about her, but I feel like there's certain things I'm not privy to because I'm not allowed to or she's trying to shield it from me" he said
"I….I don't intentionally mean to do that. I'm just….I'm not used to having smeone that I'm obligated to" Serena said
"How do you feel obligated to him?" Dr. Han quickly asked
"Because we live together, we're in an actual serious relationship…..I've never had what I have with him in my life. I've never had to be open with anyone because it just didn't matter. People don't exactly stick around for the bad with me, once the mystique goes, so does the attraction" Serena said
"How does that make you feel? Hearing this, hearing this sense of obligation she feels towards you?" Dr. Han asked as Sean took a moment
"I'm not surprised" Sean replied as a silenced loomed between them "….I get it. I get that there have been other guys that were caught in the persona that she had or has, and I get that I will continually have to prove myself to her. But I guess my biggest fear with our relationship is….will I ever not have to pay for the man before me mistakes?" he questioned as Serena turned to look at him in a bit of shock
"You think I punish you for someone else's mistakes?" Serena asked
"Not just someone, him. You punish me for him" Sean replied
"Who is the him?" Dr. Han asked
"My dad" Serena replied "Our past and present problem is my inability to open up about the one person that has been the biggest detriment in my life" she smiled weakly. Looking on at the couple, Dr. Han could see that there was some form of tension between them as the lingering words of what they wanted to say had affected their ability to be the couple they wanted to be.
"Okay, I'm not one to do relationship advice nor do I care to because that's not what I'm here for. What I am for is to be a guidance for you" Dr. Han said "You push him away because you're afraid. What you're afraid to show, I want you to show. Because I assure you, if you do not…this won't be about just saving a relationship…..it'll be about saving your own self from what you may or may not be feeling" he told her "Feel something. Feel angry, feel mad, feel lonely, feel lost...feel something and allow yourself to feel it" he told her before he looked over at Sean "Do you love her?" she asked sternly
"Yes" Sean answered without thought
"Do you love him?" Dr. Han asked as he looked over at Serena
"Yes" Serena replied
"Then trust him enough to be what you need or else you will forever be in the same cycle" Dr. Han told her as Serena took a moment to take it in before she glanced over at Sean, both of them realizing that this was something
Glancing on at her watch, April let out a sigh as she saw time slip away from her. Listening on to Carter and the investor go on and on about everything but business, April felt convinced that this was all a set up by Carter. Hoping that with each second of silence that she could steer the conversation back towards the business at hand, April had to endure the meaningless talks of sports. Thinking to herself that if she didn't have to bring in as much money as possible to show good profit for It-Girl as well as Victrola, April would've left a long time ago. Enjoying the conversation more than anything, Carter took a sip of his champagne as he glanced over to see that April was beyond annoyed with him.
"So have you given much thoughts to trading in those Knicks season tickets?" Carter asked as he put his glass down
"As regrettable the season, I'm sticking by them" The investor said
"No, say it isn't so" Carter laughed "I'm telling you, Miami is where it is at this season. Possibly Oklahoma, but you have to take the winning route" he said as he continued to sip on his champagne
"Does that really matter at this point Carter?" April asked as she whispered to him, making sure to lean towards him
"Of course" Carter replied as he quickly glanced at her before turning back to look at the investor so that he wouldn't catch on to the side remarks she had made of clear annoyance "Since your such a valued member to me, I'll make sure to get you some bit of playoff tickets. You may have to fly but we'll get you some playoff action, but in return I'll need something from you" he said
"Of course you do" The investor asked
"Great, now we're getting somewhere" April said as she began to perk up
"I take it this has to do with your midnight event, Angel and Devils event?" The investor asked
"Yes, it's the launch of the Victrola lingerie and burlesque line" April told him "It's by far an exclusive event to those that are on social media sites of the club, but also a means to market your products as well with you being that of high end shoe retailer. Our accounting department has drafted potential gains that could come your way since we've made it our priority to feature your shoes with our designs. I would really like to touch on….." she began to say in full business mode as she spoke while Carter could sense that the investor was becoming overwhelmed
"But in due time you'll get all that. No biggie" Carter interrupted "How about we get you a cigar in hand and head over to the bar area to watch the game?" he asked as the investor began to smile
"What? No!? we can't go to the bar" April said as she looked over at Carter
"Is there a problem?" The investor asked
"Yes" April replied
"No" Carter quickly followed "….she's just not used to so much sports talk, but I'm sure once the drinks start to flow she'll loosen up on the matter" he said as he laughed nervously
"No, I won't loosen up. Goodnight gentlemen" April said as she quickly got up from her seat as she wasted no time in leaving the restaurant. Following behind her, Carter made his way out of the restaurant, nearly running to catch up with her
"Hey, what was that back there?! Are you trying to ruin this deal…." Carter began to say
"I don't have the time nor the patience to play this game" April quickly replied "I don't have time for this Carter" she stated
"You've stated that already…." Carter began to say
"Then why do you insist on me being around you for business decisions? Are you trying to punish me?" April questioned in disbelief "I feel awful. I feel horrible for what we've done and have done as of recent" she admitted to him after a few moments of silence "….the other night was a big mistake…." She began to say
"Don't say that. You can say anything, but don't say that" Carter quickly replied
"It was, it is" April replied "I'm lying to my boyfriend, a boyfriend that I care about and am falling in love with…." She began to say
"I'm fully aware of what you feel for him" Carter interrupted "What I have trouble accepting is that you don't feel anything for me" he said as she stood in silence "You kissed me. You let me kiss you…." He said
"It was a mistake!" April yelled
"Or maybe it wasn't" Carter replied "Maybe it was what it should've been" he said as they let the silence linger
"You're upset and your angry with Patrick for what he did, I get that. But you trying to use this notion of feelings as a means to seduce me, that's a bit much" April said
"This has nothing to do with Patrick. Am I upset about him holding truths back about my parents? Yes. But I realized something from all of that that I hadn't before or allowed myself to" Carter said "I'm tired of being the martyr in all of this" he said
"And I'm tired of lying" April said before she attempted to walk away but Carter had grabbed on to her arm to stop her
"There's a reason you don't want to be around me. There's a reason why you keep lying to yourself about the important things. You can't fight this" Carter told her "Sooner or later, the urge will take over" he said as he looked her dead in the eyes, cutting the distance between them as he walked towards her.
"I've got to go" April said as she put her hand up to Carter's chest to prevent him from coming closer than what he already was
Making their way into the room, Dan and Blair looked on at the other couples that were expecting as well. Feeling a bit intimidated because they were the youngest of the group, Dan and Blair went over to their corner to grab their spot. Putting her air seat down on the floor for her, Dan assisted in helping Blair take her seat while they both prepared their station as the instructor had written on the board. It had been awhile since they had found themselves in a classroom setting since high school, but Dan hoped they would thrive in the areas that would count during their parenting sessions that they would take on for the day. Coming into the room, the rest of the parents went to their spots as the instructor came to the front of the class.
"Welcome Everyone Parenting101, the Birthing section. My name for the sake of this class and learning purproses is Baby" Baby, the instructor, told them
"Is she being serious?" Blair asked as she leaned back to whisper to Dan
"I believe she is" Dan replied "I read in the reviews that she does this so that you're always thinking about the baby" he whispered
"By calling yourself, the adult, baby?" Blair questioned
"Just give it a chance" Dan told her
"Fine" Blair sighed as she turned her attention back towards the instructor
"I'm a certified childbirth educator and in this journey, I will walk you moms and dads through the process of having the baby to the after parts. You've each signed up for this day course and I guarantee that you will each leave with a clear cut understanding of what you each bring to the birthing experience" Baby told them
"I'm still finding it hard to refer to her as baby" Blair then added "I mean what if I have a pressing question, I don't feel comfortable calling another woman Baby" she said
"Are you really that hung up on it?" Dan asked
"I clearly am" Blair stated "I mean just looking at her makes me think of a baby and I'm not referring to the cute ones" she said
"Focus please" Baby said as she snapped her fingers over at Dan and Blair to get their attention to her instructions "Now, do you know how your baby was made?" she asked grabbing the female reproduction system
"Through Italian wine and a sturdy dinner table" Blair replied as a few of the parents laughed
"That would be conception…." Baby began to say
"For the first. The second was on an Italian sofa" Blair added
"Right" Baby laughed as she carried on with the lecture "Do we all know where the uterus is?" she asked as she pointed to the female reproduction system model she held in her hand
"It's located right there" One of the mothers said as she pointed to it
"Right" Baby replied "Do we know what the opening of the uterus is called?" she asked
"I know this….this is flashback of anatomy. I got an A in that class, which should've been an A plus….what is that thing called?" Blair said to herself as she thought
"It's called the cervix" One of the mothers said as Blair couldn't help but be annoyed that she didn't get to answer
"Sheesh, she could've let me at least attempt to answer it" Blair whispered to Dan
"You were stuck in your flashback to answer" Dan replied
"Sure, but I was thinking. I have to revert back these days with all these other thoughts going through me. I swear it feel like I have the babies thoughts and mine to contemplate" Blair said
"What is the birth canal that the baby goes through?" Baby asked
"I got this" Blair smiled "It's the…" she began to say
"The vagina" The other mother said before Blair could answer. Looking over at the woman in disbelief at her need to answer the question
"Okay, she's doing this on purpose now…" Blair began to say as she turned to look at Dan
"I don't think that she is" Dan replied trying to calm Blair down
"But did you just see how…." Blair began to say
"Nope. I didn't see a thing" Dan replied once again trying to diffuse her anger
"How much weight should a woman put on during pregnancy…." Baby began to say
"25- 30 pounds" Blair quickly answered as a form of retaliation "Ha! She's not the only one that can answer female questions" she smiled proudly
"That's right, she can't out female you. Can we focus on the birth now?" Dan asked as he tried to direct Blair's attention back to the instructor and not the individual battle she was having with the other woman
"Actually, it's 25 to 35 pounds" The other mother corrected
"That's correct" Baby answered
"Well what if you're trying to be health conscience, Jenny Craiging while pregnant or something" Blair posed as an option "That extra five could be the gateway to plus size jeans for life" she stated
"It'll be a weight that will be satisfactory to your baby" The other mother replied
"That's the problem now, we're letting kids dictate too much as is. I start parenting from the womb. If I don't want an extra five pounds, the baby isn't getting an extra five pounds" Blair replied
"Okay, which one of the fathers would like to wear the simulation belly?" Baby asked
"Ooh honey, you should do it. He'll wear the belly, he loves to demonstrate and be a part of things" The other mother said as she volunteered her husband while Blair glared on at the woman while her husband reluctantly got up to get his belly
"My husband does too" Blair said as she quickly volunteered Dan
"I do?" Dan asked
"Yes, you do. Dan wants a belly" Blair said as Baby grabbed another belly to hand to Dan before he put it on "Two can baby belly it up" she said as Dan took his seat beside
"This thing is heavy" Dan sighed as he got used to the belly
"Yeah, yeah. Suck it up" Blair replied as she focused on the other woman and how her husband seemed to be used to his belly while Dan struggle "Come here. You have to tighten your belly" she said as leaned back to pull the straps tight on Dan's belly
"Ow! My back" Dan replied
"Again, welcome to my world" Blair replied "Suck it up" she whispered to him "You have to be graceful with your belly. Don't look so distracted with it. He's killing you on the adjusting phase" she told him
"I didn't know there was such a phase" Dan replied
"How many centimeters do you need…." Baby began to say
"Ten!" The other mother quickly declared
"Dammit! this woman just won't stop" Blair exclaimed"Now do you believe me" Blair said as she looked over at Dan
"I'm feeling spasms all up and down my back" Dan commented as he tried to get comfortable with his belly
"Now I would like my two men to discover a mock birth. Wives, can you help them get in to position" Baby said as Blair and Dan attempted to get up, but found their belly's to prevent them. Looking over to see that the other mother and her husband moved with ease, Blair groaned in frustration
"Humphrey, you should get me up first because I'm actually pregnant" Blair told him
"I'm trying" Dan replied
"Oh for crying out loud" Blair said before she kicked Dan on his side, causing him to roll over onto his back "Now rock, back and forth" she instructed as all attention went to them and their efforts to get up from the floor
"This feels so good on my back…." Dan said before Blair slowly got up to her knees, the position she wanted to be in
"Now I want you the two dads to spread their legs and prepare to push. Wives you want to encourage your husbands on through the process" Baby instructed
"Spread" Blair told him as she looked over to see that the other couple was already in their positioning, preparing to give their simulated birth.
"I'm not sure I feel comfortable spreading so widely" Dan told her
"And yet you have no problem doing so to me" Blair replied as she urged him to spread "I'm the one in between, anyone else then discomfort would be me killing you" she said
"Blair, we must say positive things around the mother and the baby during the birthing. Like our other couple" Baby said as Blair looked over at the other couple
"Daddy believes in you. Daddy wants you to come join the wonders of the world. Daddy and Mommy are a team, working cohesively to bring you into this family" The other mother said as Blair looked on in disbelief
"First of all, that's not realistic. No baby understands that" Blair replied
"It's allowing the baby to feel your calming presence with the tone of voice since that's the first thing they will interact with upon….." The other mother began to say
"Okay, I think I get the point" Blair replied as she turned her attention back to in between Dan's legs "Come out, come out, wherever you are. Where's the baby? The baby is here on planet earth" she said as she mocked the other couple
"I feel it coming" The other woman's husband said as he opened up his belly to the desire 10 centimeters
"Hey, isn't that anatomically incorrect? You can't have a baby come out the stomach" Blair stated
"For the purpose the exercise it's showing what needs to happen" Baby said "You should see if you're partner is close to pushing
"Dan, you better be dilated" Blair quickly demanded of her husband
"I can't figure out this zipper" Dan told her
"What's so hard about getting dilated? Just pull the zipper down" Blair said
"But make sure you go slowly. It's not realistic to give birth so quick" Dan said
"Well, we had an epidural and sped the process up. Humphrey, open your legs. You act like you're a virgin" Blair said
"You're supposed to be gentle with me" Dan said as she tugged on the zipper but found it hard to do so
"What the hell is up with your cervix?" Blair said continuing to tug on the zipper
"I don't know. I think it's stuck" Dan replied
"Will that happen in the actual birthing?" One of the observing couples asked with a look of horror
"No, this is all just mock…." Baby began to say
"Holy crap, your cervix will not open. How the hell are we getting this baby out!?" Blair said as she scrambled for answers, looking over at the other woman and her husband successfully inching their baby out "Okay, I can't wait for the 10 cm. I'm going in" she said as she looked around and grabbed the pen
"Uh, no. You have to inch the baby out…." Baby began to say
"Look, this baby is not coming out at 10 cm Baby. I need to get in here and get this baby out before it's too late. I'll need that scotch tape if you really want to assist in this" Blair said
"Mrs. Humphrey…." Baby began to say
"What part of the birth is this?" One of the observing couples said in complete horror "This all looks so painful" she said
"It's not, it's the wonders of life…." Baby began to say before Blair began to stab into the mock stomach
"We are getting this baby out!" Blair said in between stabs while the other parents look on in horror
"Ow, I think you just stabbed through one of the layers" Dan protested
"I'm almost there" Blair said before she began to rip open the zipper area that was the pretend cervix
"Will I have to do that to her vagina?" One husband looked on in horror
"No, this is…." Baby began to say before Blair held the baby up in her hands
"I got it! I got the baby!" Blair declared with pride and victory before she looked over at the other couple beside them "Aw, are we still in the pushing phase?" she asked as she teased them about being last "My female reproductive system just smoked yours in the end. You just got cervix'd" she said looking on at the fake baby that was riddled with pen stabbings while everyone else in the class looked on in horror.

Pulling up her stalking as she prepared for the night, April had only one intent in mind. No more waiting, tonight was going to be the night that she would finally consummate her relationship with Patrick. Getting up off the bed, April adjust her red dress as she was clearly going as something less than angel to the event. Walking over to grab her phone along with her purse, April made her way out of her bedroom to find Jenny and Justine waiting in their angel like attire. Surprised by her attire, Jenny and Justine couldn't help but like the look she was going for.
"April, I'm a bit shocked" Justine smiled as April walked over towards the bar to pour herself a shot of tequila
"I know this look. This is a look of a woman on a mission" Jenny smiled "Sexual healing of some sorts" she said
"I've opted to stop pretending like I don't like what I like. Tonight of all nights will be the night where the good girl routine is out, I'm embracing the inner devil and all things go" April said before she finished her drink
"So with that, do you plan to get some?" Justine asked
"More than some" April replied as she pulled the condoms out of her purse, making Justine and Jenny laugh
"What the hell, we always told her to practice safe sex" Jenny laughed in disbelief as they couldn't believe that their little virginal friend was all grown up and sexually experienced
Been around the world, don't speak the language
But your booty don't need explaining
All I really need to understand is
When you talk dirty to me
Talk dirty to me
Talk dirty to me
Talk dirty to me
Get jazzy on it
Adjusting his tie to his liking, Carter looked on at the red tie as he stood in the mirror. Dressing to be the devil that he was, Carter knew that it wouldn't be a shock to anyone that he was a devil by all costs. Grabbing his key card, Carter made his way out of the room and headed into the living room to see Patrick sitting at the table trying to figure his phone out. Not completely happy to see his cousin, Carter knew that he couldn't avoid him for that long since they did live together. Putting his phone down beside Patrick's before he began to adjust his belt, Patrick looked over to see his cousin beside him.
"You scared me" Patrick laughed "What's up? I feel like I haven't seen you in awhile" he said
"I've been busy" Carter replied
"Busy avoiding me?" Patrick asked
"No, I had business lined up all day. You forget that I do work" Carter replied
"I know, I know" Patrick replied as he accepted his cousin's reasoning "I got a new phone. It's like yours" he said
"I can see" Carter replied "Are you coming out tonight?" he asked "You were on the mass text list. What will you be coming as? Angel or devil?" he asked
"Uh, seeing as I have to go by the hospital on my way over. I'll be coming over as a angel somewhat. But maybe by the night's end, I'll be a devil" Patrick told him
"I'll be anxious to see that" Carter laughed before he grabbed a phone to put in his pocket "I'll see you" he said as he began to walk out of the room
You know the words to my songs
No habla inglés
Our conversations ain't long
But you know what is
I know what the girl them want,
London to Taiwan
I got lipstick stamps on my passport
I think I need a new one
Pulling the cover up on Michael as he slept, Serena looked back to see Sean adjusting his baby monitor. Looking on at the little boy as he slept, Serena and Sean worked together to put him down since they finished dinner. Making their way out of the bedroom, Sean turned the lights out in the room so that the night light was the only thing that shined. Walking towards their bedroom, Serena let out a sigh as the stress of the day was proving to catch up with her. Hearing Sean's entrance into the room, Serena turned to look at him as she figured that since Michael was asleep that now would be the time they'd have to talk.
"I know that we have to talk" Serena sighed as she took a seat on the edge of the bed
"Yes, we do" Sean told her before he walked towards her "But first things first" he told her before he assisted in taking her shirt off over her head "We relax" he said before he leaned in to kiss her passionately
Been around the world, don't speak the language
But your booty don't need explaining
All I really need to understand is
Making his way through the crowd behind security, Carter listened on to the people as they begged for invites in. With the club reaching maximum capacity, anything beyond would lead to a fine by the fire marshall. Not willing to give up free money, Carter got a few of his bartenders to set up shop on the outside and the stereo systems to play on the outside as well from what was going on in the inside. Managing the best that he could, Carter walked over to grab a shot of tequila. Finishing up his drink, Carter felt a vibration come from his phone before he reached into his pocket to look on to see that he had a text from April. Surprised by the text, Carter couldn't help but be intrigued.
April's Text: Meet me in the back room
When you talk dirty to me
Talk dirty to me
Talk dirty to me
Talk dirty to me
Barreled over in laughter as their drinks sat on the table, Eleanor and Dorota couldn't contain the laughter that came to them. With each time that they were over it, another fit of laughter came that made it start up all over again for them. Imagining the couple in their birthing session and the drastic measures that were taken, they both could only imagine how bad it could be for it to reach that level of bad. Hearing the elevator doors open up, Eleanor and Dorota quickly got to their normal positioning as they didn't want to let on that they knew what was going on. Coming off the elevator, Dan and Blair entered the penthouse to find the two women in the living room, waiting for them.
"Hey you two" Eleanor said trying to hide her laughter "How…how was class?" she asked as Blair flopped down on the sofa
"It was a waste of money" Blair quickly declared
"Really? How so?" Dorota asked
"Well for starters, you can't exactly stab the supposed baby with a pen" Dan said as Eleanor stifled her laughter
"For the last time, I was preforming a C-section" Blair said
"There was no need for a C-section" Dan replied
"Well, if you would have unzipped your cervix the way I told you to, then we would've had a normal baby" Blair replied
"It got stuck. I couldn't dilate properly" Dan replied
"This sounds very disturbing" Dorota said as she listened to what she was hearing
"No, what was disturbing was when she decided to get caught up in competition that she used a BIC pen to cut the baby out" Dan told them as Eleanor and Dorota laughed
"So, so what was the outcome of your class?" Dorota asked as she calmed down
"We got banned from the class. We apparently horrified all the parents and may have forced one woman to go into labor because she was so traumatized" Dan said "The whole going into labor was a bit much by the woman, I think she just wanted to be teacher's pet in my opinion" he said
"Thank you" Blair added in agreement of his statement "Oh, my water broke. So I just rudely leave a puddle with no consideration of cleaning it up" she mocked the woman
"Oh wow, you two….that is awful" Eleanor laughed "You can't be competitive in a birthing class" she told her daughter
"I wasn't trying to, the woman was just being really mean. She wouldn't let me answer any questions" Blair said
"Ooh, ssh" Dorota said as she quickly rushed over to grab the remote to turn the television up on the news "Mr. Humphrey, that's you on the television" Dorota said as the attention shifted towards the television
"With the episode yet to air, director, Aaron Ford, has already expressed he feels that the last half of the season is emmy material for the show. Though it's not inked, Aaron Ford looks to sign the golden boy of Hollywood, Dan Humphrey to the series" The newscaster said "With Humphrey joining the writing staff, this will surely bolster Humphrey's credits and make him the writer to watch out for" the newscaster said as the segment ended and Dorota turned the television down
"That's great, now the news is out" Dan sighed
"That's great news" Eleanor smiled "You're going to be writing for television" she said
"They said Hollywood, do they think…." Blair began to say as one thing stood out to her
"I don't know" Dan said as he got up from his seat "I have to go talk to my agent, see what's going on" he said as he made his way out of the room to make a couple of calls
"It is" Blair replied forcing a smile "There's just some things that need to be ironed out" she said
"Like?" Dorota asked
"The where he's supposed to work. They may want him to relocate out to Los Angeles" Blair said as the silence grew "But it's still good. The location will get worked out and things will be fine" she smiled
"I hope" Eleanor said "May I advise you in one thing in all of this?" she asked
"What?" Blair asked
"Family comes before everything else. Be selfish with your family, never your work" Eleanor told her as Blair just nodded in agreement.
Pacing the floor back and forth, April couldn't help but think about what was bound to happen. Was she really going to have sex with Patrick in a backroom of a club? She questioned as she looked around at her setting. Not wanting to stop and think, April walked over towards the bar area and poured herself another shot of tequila. Quickly downing the drink, April pumped herself up as she allowed herself to get out of her head. Hearing the sound of the door open, April was more than prepared to put her thoughts to the side and just do what she's always wanted to do. Seeing the door open, April was surprised to see Carter on the otherside.
"Carter, what the hell!?" April exclaimed
"You choose a backroom of all places?" Carter asked with a bit of a smile
"It shouldn't matter what I choose" April said "I don't choose you" she replied
"And yet we keep running into each other" Carter said
"Because you keep stalking me and forcing yourself around me" April replied as Carter leaned up against the door
"So you just have me all figured out? I'm just nothing in all of this" Carter said
"Your words, not mine" April replied
"Or you know what I really think, I think this whole act of you being mad with me or annoyed with me is your way of needing to push me way. You need to keep me at bay because you're afraid" Carter said
"So you've said" April replied "You said this earlier, you should say something new" she said
"Okay, I'll give you something new" Carter told her as he walked towards her "That day you told me to meet you and run away with you…." He began to say
"You mean the very day that you stood me up" April quickly replied
"I trashed the paper" Carter said
"That doesn't surprise me" April laughed
"I trashed it thinking I would remember. I thought about it all day. Contemplated why I would event think about doing something so random and crazy" Carter said "I kept thinking about you and our encounter…..and I couldn't stop thinking about you. So I figured that since I couldn't stop thinking about you then it was a sign that I should go, that I should take that leap of faith as you asked. I came on time, ready to meet you, ready to be with you or whatever was require…." He said
"You came too late. Three months…." April began to say
"No, three hours early" Carter told her as he walked closer towards her "I was at the airport for three hours, waiting for you. Waiting to join you. I was at La Guardia" he told her as April stood in shock
"….I was at JFK" April simply replied
"Yeah, turns out that my memory isn't as great as it used to be because if I had remembered, I would've been there. I was there, I was there for you" Carter told her as April felt all mixed with how to feel
"Why? Why are you telling me this?" April asked in frustration as she leaned up against the desk
"Because I'm not the bad guy you think…." Carter said
"Why are you doing this to me?" April asked
"Because….you're my biggest regret. Letting you leave was my biggest regret" Carter told her
"Yeah well, it doesn't change anything. I'm still with Patrick and we're still…..we're still nothing" April struggled to say
"You're lying" Carter said after a few moments of studying her "You're lying" he said as closed in the space between them
"….prove it" April said as she felt her heart racing at a thousand miles per minute
"Gladly" Carter told her before lifting her onto the desk. Opening her legs so that he could step in between, Carter kept his hands on her hips with his mouth found hers. Their kiss was deep and sweet and just relieved...relieved of the hurt, the pain, the agony of separation, the sweet relief made it so hot to feel his fingers in her hair, feel her fingers dig into his back, feel her drive her hips against him, feel them want each other so tight together. So tightly she drove herself against him, their mouths working each other. Furiously kissing, Carter assisted in hiking her dress up as she began to undo his belt. Breaking away from her lips, Carter began to devour her as he kissed her neck, causing her to moan out. Pulling the strap down on the dress to expose her shoulder, Carter lead a trail of kisses down to her shoulder. Getting lost in the lust of things, April quickly ripped open Carter's dress shirt as she pressed her lips against his once again Grinding against each other, Carter and April tongues glided against each other. Undoing the belt on his pants, April helped in unzipping his pants as he continued to kiss her. Just as the two were well on their way to hooking up, the door opened up with Jenny and her fling of the night coming in, in an kissing embrace only to realize the room had already been in use.
"Oh, my….I'm sorry" Jenny said awkwardly as April quickly turned to straighten herself while Carter did the same
"Are we having a foursome?" The guy asked in a bit of confusion
"No" Jenny replied "Let's go" she told him as she pushed him out of the room, making sure to close the door behind them as they left. Getting dressed, Carter could see that April was truly effected by what had or almost happened between them
"April…." Carter began to say before she held her hand up to stop him from talking
"Don't say anything. Let's just not say anything….it is, what it is" April said as she walked towards the door
"I don't regret kissing you. I don't regret what almost happened. I don't regret sleeping with you. Don't ask me to regret it or feel horrible because I don't feel horrible, not with you. I feel everything but horrible when I'm with you" Carter declared "I showed up, it may have been the wrong airport….but I showed up, ready to take that leap with you" he told her
"I just need to go" April told him before she quickly ran out of the room
Taking a few moments to catch their breaths as they lay naked, Serena felt her breathing come to a normal pace as she looked up at the ceiling. Both on opposite ends of the bed, Sean lifted his head from the end of the bed to see Serena at the head of the bed. Glad to see that she was just as tired as he was to not have the ability to move, Sean laughed to himself for a moment as she couldn't help but join in on the laughter. Finding comfort in the stillness of the moment, they both let the laughter last as long as possible before they once again resumed the silence. Focusing in on the thought that came to her, Serena felt more exposed than ever with him as she felt more at ease to talk than ever before. Sitting up on the bed, Sean looked towards her as they both just sat in their silence.
"I can't say why but I need his approval. I needed his love" Serena said breaking the silence
"Of course, it's only natural" Sean replied
"When I was younger, he used to play up how beautiful I was and he would just smile at me. My dad had always been the one to make me feel like I was his princess, his little girl" Serena said as she thought back "He validated me. He told me my worth...when he left…I lost that. I lost that piece of myself because he was the only one that gave that to me on a consistent basis" Serena said
"Did he tell you when he left?" Sean asked "When you were younger?" he asked
"He'd always leave. Him leaving was normal, but he'd come back. It may have been months in between before we'd see him" Serena told him "My parents were never normal. They never were the model of perfection, but he was this doctor that wanted to cure all. I used to think he was like some Indiana Joneseque like character with his adventures" she said
"Doctors without Borders, right?" Sean asked
"Yeah" Serena replied with a weak smile
"What was it like growing up without him?" Sean asked
"Bad" Serena replied "I mean it was like the longer he'd stay away it felt like I was holding on to a dream. My mother filed for divorce, got remarried three months later to her second husband, and it just continued its pattern up until Richard. I acted out, any guy in my life made weary because to me, no guy stayed around. Relationships made me antsy because it felt like I was standing still in hope of something, and in the back of my mind I knew the inevitable would come, so I couldn't stay in a relationship" Serena said
"I get that" Sean said "Relationships are scary and hard. Being vulnerable with someone is so….personal" he said
"Then there was you…." Serena smiled on at him with a tear in her eye "You saw past what so many only looked at. You saw me, you got me…..and that terrified me. You….you are the most terrifying thing in my life because losing you or disappointing you is my biggest fear, and I'm not sure you seeing this insecure girl that clearly has daddy issues is something you can handle" she told him
"I can handle a lot. I mean our story hasn't been perfect, but I'm not asking you to be perfect. I'm asking you to love me and trust that I love you enough to be what you need" Sean told her as she cried
"How am I supposed to help her?" Serena questioned "….she has everything I always wanted from him and I'm supposed to continue to give her that, while I just…..I just accept that I wasn't enough for him to even stick around?" she questioned "I can't wrap my head around that. It makes me angry. It makes me sick that he could even ask me that, ask me to save his daughter while he shows little concern about what I've dealt with" she said
"I know that it sucks. I will not pretend like this is easy because it's not" Sean told her as he moved towards her "But I know that you're fully capable of making this decision and whatever it may be, I will not see you any different. You are not a bad person for feeling the way you do…" he began to say
"Then why do I feel like this? Why is he so willingly guilting me?" Serena asked
"Because it's the easiest way to get you to do what he wants. He has power on you, power that has been there since the day he left. But your stronger, I've seen your strength" Sean told her
"I don't have strength, it's me pretending" Serena laughed to herself as dismissed the notion
"Don't do that" Sean replied
"It's the truth" Serena replied "This strength that you see is me trying to piece together what's good about me to put forth a positive persona. I've done things….I'm not proud of. I was nothing short of a complete mess that had the fortune of having a best friend that was able to be more of a mother figure to me than my own mother was. If I rely and depend on Blair so much it's because there would've been no surviving if she wasn't around. She's held me together to keep me from being the person I could've and still could become with my dad's real intentions being known" she said
"I don't believe that for one second" Sean replied "Look, I get that you need Blair, I'm not trying to come in between your friendship. I get it, there are some things you will never tell me or share with me that you would with her. But what I see isn't a woman trying to hold it together, it's a woman that has made mistakes but loves people and loves to enjoy life, regardless of the crap she's been given. You're dad doesn't validate you, you validate yourself" he told her as a silence came between them "You're gorgeous and amazing to me. I may be bias but that's just how I feel" he said as Serena couldn't help but smile
"You're only saying that because I'm the only girl that can tolerate your cheapness" Serena laughed
"What you see as cheapness, I see as building financially towards the future" Sean said
"Future? You see that with me?" Serena asked as Sean realized what he had said
"I do. I've always seen it with you" Sean told her in his moment of vulnerability "You're always in my future. Whether I'm in yours or not, I just think you should know that there is someone that see's you as enough, if not everything good in this world. I'm not looking to validate you, I just….I don't know, maybe this is stupid…..I want to be that person for you" he told her as a weak smile came to his face as Serena looked on at him before she crawled towards him to kiss him on the cheek. Pressing her forehead against his, the two just enjoyed the silence
"I love you" Serena told him
"I love you too" Sean told her as he brought his hand to the side of her cheek to caress her cheek before she leaned in to kiss him
Making it back to their house early, Dan wasted no time in continuing his talks with his newfound agent. Unable to give her tidbits, Dan wasn't quite sure of what to make of what he was being told until he was able to check his e-mails at home. Sitting in the living room, Blair did her best not to act so obvious as she listened on to Dan's conversation with his newfound agent. Trying to find anything and everything that could lead her over towards the vicinity of where Dan was, Blair felt like that was her only option in all of this. Hearing both frustration and happiness in his voice, Blair wasn't quite sure what to think of the conversation that Dan was having.
"Alright, thank you. I'll…I'll get back to you as soon as I can" Dan said before he ended the call. Looking on at his phone for a moment, Dan was torn out of his silence before he heard the sound of footsteps rushing back towards the living room area. Shaking his head, Dan knew that the sudden footsteps were Blair unable to hide the fact that she was horrible at eavesdropping. Heading into the living room to see Blair with her feet up on the sofa, Dan just put his phone down on the table before taking a seat beside her.
"Oh hey, I didn't even hear you come in the living room" Blair lied as she tried to play off the obvious
"Yeah, I'm sure" Dan told her with a bit of a laugh
"So? How did things go on the phone call? Did you get it all straightened out?" Blair asked
"I did" Dan told her "The studio has offered me a contract to write for the remaining season…." He said
"Which we knew, but this is all formalities" Blair said
"They've also extended a contract to me to write and develop another series that Aaron is working on with Bridge Entertainment getting credit on it" Dan said
"Meaning that you could stay in New York, right?" Blair asked with a smile
"The show is being taped in Los Angeles and most of the writing team is assembling in Calabasas. I'd get to oversee my own writing staff on the series…." Dan began to say before Blair shook her head
"You're not even a television writer?! You're a book writer. Television, book, television, book. It's completely separate" Blair stated
"I know…." Dan began to say
"Then why is everyone all of sudden trying to convert you to a television writer that is based in Los Angeles?" Blair questioned
"I don't know" Dan said "….I'm good at it. I've made friends with television writers….." he said unable to explain the reasons why "They look to me for guidance. I mean I have known television writers asking me for my opinion….debating about characters and storylines….I don't know, I'm just taking it all in and it's….it's nice. It's nice to feel in my element and know that I'm as good, if not better at my craft as the so called Hollywood writers" he said as he couldn't hide the smile
"Our life is in New York, Humphrey" Blair said as tears welled up in her eyes "….our home. We just bought this home. This was supposed to be our dream home, where we raise our kids…this was supposed to be ours, us building our family in New York with our family and friends…..you can't change things like this" she said as Dan tried to calm her down
"Calm, calm" Dan told her as moved closer towards her "We don't have to figure all of this out tonight" he said
"But yet we still have to figure this out? Don't you want to be in New York?" Blair asked
"Yes, I want to be in New York. My family is here, you're here" Dan told her
"Then fight to stay. Tell them that New York is your home front and you can't just up and relocate to Los Angeles….the beaches are filthy there" Blair said
"You like the beaches" Dan replied
"Like is an interchangeable word. It could be worse" Blair said before she grabbed Dan's hand, moving closer towards him "You are a brilliant writer, who people would be crazy to pass up on in any state. We'll just find a market for you in New York, have Alessandra drum up something for you of the same magnitude in New York" she offered
"Maybe. Yeah, maybe we can do that" Dan smiled weakly
"Just promise me that you'll fight to keep New York as your home front" Blair told him
"I will, I will try to get something out here" Dan told her before he leaned in to kiss her on the cheek "But until then…." He said sadly
"You have to prepare to leave tomorrow morning back to Los Angeles" Blair concluded as she could see the sadness on his face
Leaning back in her chair, April looked out at the city as the night slowly began to fade away into the sunset. Sitting in the silence of her office at It-Girl, April felt as if this was the only place she could come to think. In her mind, April thought she could work her problems away but as soon as she got into the office, it was less about work but time to think. Making her way up towards the door, Jenny looked in to see the girl staring out before she proceeded to make her way in. Turning to see that Jenny was entering the room, April wasn't sure what to think as her friend walked towards her, taking a seat in front of the desk.
"I know that what you saw in the room was…." April began to say
"Is none of my business" Jenny quickly replied as April looked on at her "I didn't come to judge. I came here because….this is the only time to be productive with my work" she said as the two girls laughed a bit
"….I don't know how things got so complicated. I thought I had everything under control but I'm just over my head" April sighed
"What happened?" Jenny asked "I mean beyond what I saw" she said
"He showed up. All this time, I thought he hadn't but he did. Wrong airport, but he showed up" April said "I thought I was stupid to let my emotions get the best of me after we had slept together, so I just….I put it all on the line, thinking that he didn't feel the same way or even have the audacity to show up….but he did" she said
"Does that change anything?" Jenny asked
"I don't know. Maybe. I don't know" April said in confusion
"Look, I've had the misfortune of being in a triangle and as you are now, it confused the hell out of me" Jenny said "The one thing I can advise you in, is that you have to face this thing head on before it turns into a mess" she told her
"I don't want it to be a mess" April exclaimed
"Then you have to declutter it" Jenny replied as she rose from her seat to begin to walk away "Ignoring it or pretending like you can control it will only make it worse" she told her
"Hey, Jen" April said as she turned to look back at her friend
"Yeah" Jenny said
"…..thanks for not judging" April smiled weakly "I feel horrible and never intended for things to be this way. So….it means a lot that you're not judging. In some odd way, it's comforting in a moment where I feel like some sort of a whore for what I've done and continue to do" she said as her guilt shined through
"I'm your friend, I'm not here to judge you. I'm here to be your friend and help you along. We're young. This is when we're supposed to be young and dumb, we lose that privilege the more we grow up" Jenny said as April let a weak smile come through "I've got work to do and a certain number to block. Some guys can't take the hint" she said as they both laughed before she eventually left April alone in her office. Reaching forward, April grabbed her phone as she looked on at the number that she had intended to dial. Taking a deep breath, April sighed before she eventually dialed the number.
"Hey, it's me" April sighed "I was hoping to talk to you but I guess I'm secretly glad that I got the answering machine. I don't know what to think, this is all so crazy" she said after a few moments of thought "It'd be easy to forget you, it'd be so much easier to forget what we shared….but it's not. I don't regret the kiss. I don't….I don't regret us sleeping together….and that's the problem. So I guess that's what I have to figure out….I have to figure out what the hell is going on between us because this can't keep going on" she said before ending the call.
Back of the room
Looking at you
Counting the steps
Between us
Getting out of the car with his dark shades on, Dan held the door open as he assisted Blair out of the car. Hearing a few of the whispers of those that were a fan of the couple, it only reminded them that they were in their own ways celebrities in New York. Looking over to see that Henry was grabbing his luggage, Dan thanked him before taking his duffel bag. Taking Blair's hand in his, the couple made their way through the airport process before they found themselves waiting at the terminal. Cuddled up close to him, Blair hated the inevitable goodbye as she had been accustomed to Dan being there. Rubbing her back, Dan just sat in silence, letting her handle this as best as she could.
"You'll call as soon as you land?" Blair asked as she looked up at him
"As soon as I land" Dan told her as he kissed her on the top of the head
"I'll have another doctors appointment, so…." Blair began to say
"I will have Dorota skype me in" Dan told her "I just need you to rest and take it easy" he said
"It's hard to do that when I'm worried about you and this whole mess with New York and Los Angeles…." Blair began to say
"It'll all work itself out. Just stop worrying about it. Whatever needs to be done, I will do so with my family coming first" Dan told her as Blair just nodded
"Flight 2448, now boarding for Los Angeles" The announcer said as Blair just shook her head while Dan rose from his seat. Extending his hand towards her, Blair grabbed on as he helped her up
"I love you. You know this" Dan said as he held her close "I love my son and daughter" he whispered to her as she hid her face in the crook of his neck
"I love you too, which is why I hate this….I don't want you to leave" Blair said trying to keep her emotions together
"We'll be together soon enough. I promise you that" Dan said before he leaned in to kiss her. Slowly pulling away, Blair watched as Dan began to walk to get in line before he eventually boarded the airplane.
A hundred and five
Little blades in a line
From your skin to mine
And I feel it
Looking on at the message that was on his phone, Carter contemplated whether to listen to it or not as just the name alone enticed him. Thought running rampant of the possibilities of what this message could say, Carter could only stare at his phone. Putting the phone down, Carter sighed as he laid his head down on his desk. Closing his eyes, Carter replayed the images of kissing April over and over in his head. The feel of her lips against his. The desire that still yearned inside of him for her, Carter couldn't deny it anymore that his feelings were stronger more than ever. Grabbing his phone once again, Carter quickly made his way out of the office as he had to leave.
Eyes on the ground
But I can't look up now
Don't wanna give it away
My secret
Sitting at her desk as she went through the twitter feeds of comments about the party, Jenny leaned back in her chair as she enjoyed reading the mostly positive reviews. Victrola and It-Girl were once again hailed as a good partnership and giving the great party atmosphere. With the target market in mind, the party was nothing short of successful and beyond like she projected. Hearing the fax machine going off, Jenny leaned forward to grab the message to see that there was increase in sales for the line. Glancing up from her paper, Jenny looked up to see Chuck at her door before she invited him to come in.
"Did you get the numbers?" Jenny asked proudly
"I did" Chuck replied "You delivered and then some on your projections. Sorry about the doubt" he said
"Well, it's not your fault. You underestimate my business mind" Jenny laughed
"Still not quite sure as to why Carter took you off as point, but either way you guys got the job done" Chuck said
"We work well as one. No one drops the ball" Jenny told him "I'd pass along the sentiments to April but she's stepped out for boyfriend time" she said
"I appreciate what you've done and I look forward to future projects" Chuck told her
"As do I" Jenny smiled before a silence came between them
"Are we good?" Chuck asked as he broke the silence
"Yeah, we're good" Jenny replied
In another life,
My teeth and tongue
Would speak aloud what until now
I've only sung
Making his way through the crowd, Carter eagerly looked on at the building. Hating that he opted to walk to his suite than take the usual car, Carter figured that the walk would allow him to think over what he wanted to do. His only thoughts were of going to see her, making it clear that he wanted her and he would stop at nothing to get her. Coming upon the entrance of the building, Carter looked over to see April getting out of the car as he was surprised to run into her. Walking up to each other awkwardly, April dug her hands into her coat as Carter just looked on at her, unable to hide how happy he was to see her.
"Hey" Carter said
"Hey" April replied
"So about last night…" They both began to say before realizing that they were beginning to talk
"You first" April told him
"You sure?" Carter asked
"Yes, I'm eager to hear what you have to say" April sighed
"As am I" the voice said as April and Carter looked over to see Patrick standing
"Hey, I was just coming to see if you wanted to grab lunch" April said
"No, I think lunch can wait. I'm more interested in finding out when my cousin was planning to tell me that he screwed my girlfriend" Patrick said as he glared on at Carter, catching Carter and April off guard
"What are you talking about?" Carter asked
"I'm talking about you…..and April. Did you two sleep together?" Patrick asked as a silence loomed between them all. April became more nervous as time went on
"Patrick, let me explain…." April began to say
"No, you've explained enough on this handy voicemail that I received" Patrick said as he held up his phone "You took my phone, and I had your phone. Didn't realize it until this morning, when I saw that my girlfriend left you a message that revealed some interesting things about just how well you to get along while I'm not around" he said
"Look, can we just talk about this…" Carter began to say before Patrick punched him
"I'm not interested in that" Patrick replied as Carter shook off the hit
"Okay, have it your way" Carter said before tackling Patrick to the floor as the two began to fight
"Stop it!" April yelled as she looked on in disbelief
Cause I would die to make you mine
Bleed me dry each and every time
I don't mind, no I don't mind it
I would come back 1000 times
Stirring her cup of coffee as she sat waiting, Serena focused on the liquid as he swirled around. Not knowing why she felt the need to be here, Serena knew at the end of the day this would be the only way she'd get to speak without having to through the media. Wondering what she would say or how she should say it, Serena wasn't sure what to think or do at this point. Glancing over to see that he had made his way inside of the café, Serena looked on to see her father with his usual smile on his face. Shaking her head, Serena couldn't believe that he could think he could smile it all away. Giving her a kiss on the side of the cheek, William then proceeded to take his seat across from her.
"How've you been" William asked
"As well as I can be" Serena replied
"I was surprised to hear from you, but I knew eventually we would talk" William said
"The media won't allow us not to, so I figured this would be a great photo opp for us both" Serena said
"Good thinking" William laughed as he took a sip of his water
"An dit would also be the best way for me to give you my answer" Serena said as William glanced up at her "….I'm sorry, but I can't help you" she said "If I could see things your way, maybe I could, but seeing as I can't exactly turn off my pain, I can't pretend like I'm okay with this…." She began to say
"No, no. Serena think about this…." William began to say
"I'm sorry. I wish her the best, but I can't be the one to help her" Serena said before she quickly got up, giving her father little time to say anything as he sat in disbelief.
"Serena. Serena" William said as his pleas became more evident of rejection. Wanting to be cold and distant with her decision, Serena felt her eyes water as tears from her face as she walked out of the restaurant. Seeing a bit of the stares as she walked out from onlookers, Serena wiped away tears as she continued to walk away.
You can make me wait forever
Push me away and tell me never
I don't mind, no I don't mind it
I would come back 1000 times
Hey hey
Sitting on the fire escape clenching tight on to a pillow, Katie looked out as the sun began to rise. Getting lost in thought as she only could with her being alone so often. For all the things she had planned for in her life, Katie never planned to feel so secluded in her life as she did. Though it felt horrible, Katie felt like this was the first time she could truly reflect and deal with being back from the place and home she ran from. For so long, Katie was used to being the presence through the internet that kept up with her friends but to be so close, she still felt so far away. Running her hand through her hair, Katie let out a sigh as she got up from her spot on the fire escape to head inside to go towards her laptop. Thinking that she could so easily get on and make contact with Mac, Katie had to stop herself from doing so as the danger of contacting him would be graver than her need to talk to someone. Groaning in frustration, Katie took a moment before she screamed out in pure frustration of the situation. Standing amidst the open spaces of the room, Katie thought for a moment before she quickly remembered the open house that was supposed to be today. Not sure as to why her mind suddenly went to the house of all things, Katie felt like it was the only place for her to go to deal with some forms of her anger. Caught up in the moment, Katie grabbed her keys and left the loft.
Kiss me goodnight
Like a good friend might
I'll do the same
But won't mean it
With the playoffs being so grueling, Sean loved nothing more than to just shoot around early in the morning before a game at the arena so that it helped relieve some of the stress of having to win. Shooting the ball at the net, Sean watched as the ball went through the net while Michael playfully ran after the ball only to fall on his butt. Laughing to himself as the trainer handed the ball off to the little boy, Sean smiled as he could see Michael's only goal was to get the ball to his father. Picking the little boy up along with the basketball, Sean put him on his shoulders as he held him up so that he could shoot the basketball. Looking on at the two of them as she made her way towards the court, Serena stood on the side line just watching them. Putting Michael down on the floor, Michael quickly took off running towards Serena.
"Good shot there" Serena smiled as the little boy came up to her before she picked him up "I think he shoots better than you. Maybe Mike here can teach you a thing or two…." She began to say as Sean laughed
"Yeah, I'm sure. Who do you think taught him how to shoot like that" Sean told her
"I'm just saying, I think this little guy needs to suit up and kick this series off with a win for Brooklyn" Serena smiled on at the little boy before she put him down and he immediately took off to play with the basketball
"How'd things go today?" Sean asked
"As I expected" Serena sighed "I just told him I couldn't do it. He may never forgive me or hate me for not saving her, but…..I just can't" she said
"And I understand that. I support you either way" Sean told her
"I know and I love you for that" Serena smiled before she walked up to give him a kiss on the cheek "But now…it's my turn to support you" she said as she lifted up her shirt to show the black jersey she had underneath to show that it was his jersey number. Smiling on at her form of support, Sean couldn't help but laugh
Cause love is a cage
These words on a page
Carry the pain
They don't free it
Making his way up towards his apartment, Tyler began to fumble around in his pocket for his keys. Taking his keys out, Tyler made his way inside of his place before tossing his keys to the side. Grabbing his mail that was on the floor, Tyler took a few moments to flip through before tossing the mail to the side. Walking into the kitchen, Tyler grabbed a beer out of the fridge before he reached in his pocket to get his phone, thinking to text Sean before he forgot. Glancing up from his phone, Tyler looked over to see a bouquet of flowers on his table with a note attached to them. Surprised by the gesture, Tyler walked over towards the table before he grabbed the envelope to open it up.
"Love the way you lie" Tyler read to himself as he stood in confusion as to what that meant before his eyes widened upon the thought that had suddenly came to him
In another life
I wouldn't need to
Console myself
As I resign to release you
Standing outside of her childhood house, Katie once again found herself staring on at the perfection that was maintained on the outside. Every part of her wanted to give in and trash some bit of the property to bring attention to it as it should've been. Not knowing why she felt this draw to the house, Katie couldn't help but feel like this house carried so much power over her that years away couldn't relinquish. Observing the house for a moment to see that not many were inside for the open house event, Katie slowly walked inside, closing the door softly behind her. Standing in the doorway, memories rushed back to her as she looked around, finding there was no amount of preparation that could help her endure. Walking further inside, Katie walked into the living room towards the family picture that sat on the table. Staring as she picked up the frame to look on at the picture closer, Katie could see a reflection through the frame before she quickly turned around.
"They always say home brings you back" Blair told her as she walked towards her "No matter how far we run. No matter how long we stay away. No matter what, home brings you back….it's the foundation and the essence of revealing who we really are" she said as the two girls stood face to face "….it's been awhile, years upon years. Hasn't it…..Katie" she said giving the final indication that she knew.
"Yes, it has" Katie replied reluctantly, knowing that there was no way around it
Cause I would die to make you mine
Bleed me dry each and every time
I don't mind, no I don't mind it
I would come back 1000 times
