Authors note: Sorry! I've been so caught up with school and swimming lately that I haven't gotten around to this chapter! It's been like 2 months! Sorry! Angsty chapter.

Edd's phone rang in the middle of the night. He tried to sound awake while answering but he ended up sounding drunk, making the boy on the others side laugh.

"Tired Edd?" Double D suddenly jolted upright in his bed at the sound of Kevin on the other end.

"Kevin? Wait…Did we ever exchange numbers…Never mind is something wrong?" Edd couldn't help but think something was off, it was about three in the morning and unusual that Kevin would contact him.

"Eddy gave it to me. Listen, can you come outside. I'm waiting; let's go away for a bit."

The jock hung up and Edd immediately got dressed. He tried to stay awake as he laced up his shoes and headed outside. The air was chilly but there was no snow in sight. It was now just the beginning of February. Edd had spent New Year's at Kevin's house, banging pots and pans at 12 and sneaking off with the red head to get a New Year's kiss. Just the thought of it made Edd go red.

Kevin was true to his word. He parked his motorcycle on the curb and leaned against it with a helmet in hand. When he saw Edd come out he chucked the helmet to him and helped him on the seat. Daija vu hit him as he remembered the janitor's closet. He tugged his hat down a bit to keep from Kevin seeing his blush.

"Don't you need one too? What happened to the other one?" Edd stood rubbing his eyes, tiresome.

"It's cracked, wouldn't be much use. Don't worry It's not that far away where we are going." The redhead smiled and kicked the stand away.

"It'll be fun, remember last time?" Edd just pouted and wrapped his arms around the jocks toned waist. Kevin sounded a bit too excited for three in the morning. Double D just wanted to know what was up.

"Kev…"

Before he could finish Kevin revved the engine and they took off at a fast speed. Edd held on with all the strength he had and before he knew it they arrived at a park. Kevin took Edd's helmet and helped him down from the shiny black motorcycle.

"Kevin, what are we doing here?"

"Swinging. I just wanna swing."

"Good lord, couldn't this have waited until the morning?"

Kevin shook his head and took Edd's hand guiding him towards the swings. Edd just rolled his eyes and went along with it. Kevin was always doing things like this spontaneously.

"Let's have a contest, see who can jump the farthest from their swing alright!"

"Fine."

Edd always did love a good challenge but his mind was set on sleeping. He managed to pump his legs high enough to get a good distance. 'If I measure the exact distance and speed of my swinging I can calculate the destination of my landing perfectly.' Edd caught his thoughts immediately. 'Come one Double D, not everything has to be charted or planned out. Just go with it.'

"One, Two, Three…Jump!" Kevin exclaimed ejecting from the seat.

They both flew a couple feet forward and Kevin couldn't stop himself from laughing as Edd lost his balance.

"What's so funny? It's filthy down here...and muddy…Did it rain?" Kevin offered a hand, but Edd smirked. He pulled the jock headfirst down with him.

"Awh man, yuck!" Kevin took a handful of mud and threw it at the now running boy. "Come here Edd!"

"No way!" The two laughed and chased each other down until they both grew too tired to stand. They plopped down on their backs nest to each other and laughed until their sides hurt.

"Wow, look at all the stars." Kevin held Edd's hand as he pointed to the constellations and smiled. "Just think, there are so many other places…people we could've ended up with, and we ended up with each other."

Edd gave Kevin's hand a tight squeeze; it was a comforting gesture.

"I wouldn't have it any other way."

Time went by fast as Edd and Kevin lay and talk about everything and nothing at all. The conversation stemmed from favorite colors to deep thoughts, and it didn't take long for Edd to fall in love all over again.

Edd took a look at his watch. It read 6:03.

"Oh man, Kevin we should get going. It's six o'clock in the morning!"

"Don't wanna." Kevin's voice was drowsy with fatigue. He sighed and got up. The mud dried to his pants, and hair making him feel disgusting.

"Alright, come on."

They walked away from the park and to the motorcycle. It was still dark and both boys were too tired to talk. Kevin barely had the strength to help Edd onto the vehicle.

Then he rode. The Cul de sac seemed farther away than when they came to the park and Kevin could barely keep his eyes open. Edd didn't seem to notice his swerving until He heard the sound of tires skidding the rode.

Now wide awake Edd called out, "Kevin!" Before he realized, Kevin was unconscious from utter lack of sleep. A large truck was coming their way, fast; and the driver couldn't see them.

"No…" It was barely a whisper, as Edd quickly undid his helmet and fastened it to Kevin's head. He braced himself for what was to come and tried to stay calm. 'Dear god, please, I know I said I didn't believe in you but please, this one time. Keep. Kevin. Safe.'

Flashing lights, then darkness.
