A/N 2015 - Hello everyone! It's been a long time since I attempted to rewrite this whole fic, but I was so adamant and excited about it that I started rewriting it into half a book. I bled myself dry of inspiration and will. I had already written this once and was so proud if it I wanted to make it better for my readers (seeing as I wrote this when I was so much younger).
My intentions are still to tend to this one day and make it into that half a book, it's something I'm too proud of to say "I'll never finish." But for now I simply am not in that place, I hope you can understand that. I deleted the original chapters at first, but since I am not and will not tend to it any time soon, I give them back to you. I have been remiss into giving the ending to my new readers. So apologies for the difference in writing, the grammar and spell fails of old (I am at the very least throwing a spell-check over it, but it doesn't always catch everything)- but I hope you can at least enjoy the story.
8. I Need You
Aragorn sat across Legolas inside the cave and watched the elf look at the ground. Sadness and pain flickered in his eyes as he cradled his side with one hand.
"Legolas" Aragorn stood, only to sit down next to his lover again. Legolas did not answer, he briefly looked at the Ranger, then returned his gaze to the floor, to be flooded with thoughts once more.
"You will not be able to help..." Again Legolas found himself wrapped up in darkness and the voice of the dark one taunted the air.
"You will suffer..." Legolas looked around, the voice seemed to be from one walking very near him. "And you will not be the only one..."
"What?! Do not hurt my friends! Stay away from them!" Legolas forgot his fear and fought the darkness around him with all his mental strength.
"You will not be able to help..." the voice repeated, now behind Legolas. And before the elf could turn around he felt the darkness entangle him, he could not move and darkness did not permit him to talk.
"I will win and you will suffer..." the voice came closer to the elf.
"You are mine Legolas, you will not help as I send those you care of to the after-live, all the stupid mortals" Legolas felt himself being grabbed from behind and lips touched his pointy ear, "your lover will be the one to perish first..." the one's voice hissed into his ear.
"No..." Legolas got out of his mouth. In mind he got mad, the dark one would keep him trapped in his dream as long as possible, so he could hurt Aragorn! Anger suddenly overtook him and he tried to break free, his mind concentrating all its force together as he closed his eyes.
He squeezed his eyelids together and suddenly felt the world turning around him, making his soul dizzy and disorientated. When he opened his eyes, Legolas found he was awake and instinctively immediately searched the area around him for his lover.
Then he noticed a dim silent lightning flash enlighten the sky. He had noticed, yet it was not enough to awaken Aragorn's senses.
"Aragorn! Watch out!" Legolas leapt to his feet, his side cringing in pain, but the thought of his love made him strong. He would never ever let such a thing happen again!
The quickest as his elven legs could carry him he raced over to Aragorn, becoming one with the scenery as a mere man could only see a green blur.
Aragorn had turned to him and Legolas struck Aragorn's body with his own, with his side, instantly falling nearly unconscious to the dark floor as boulders collide in front of the entrance.
"What troubles you so Legolas?" Aragorn's warm breath against his skin broke Legolas's chain of thought. "Tis..nothing" he whispered, not shifting his gaze.
"Are you hurt?" Aragorn's next question was. "I sort of..used my side to bump you into this cave.." Legolas said carefully, for he knew Aragorn would get mad.
Instead Aragorn only sighed and shifted sideways, "I would like to see Legolas" it was not a question and Legolas knew. He removed his hand from his aching right side and tried to lift up his shirt. He moaned and let go off the tunic, "I fear I cannot yet lift it alone" he simply stated, hating the fact is was true.
Aragorn's annoyed look got off his face and it curled into a smile. He moved his hands to the elf's body and touched it gently when taking hold of the shirt.
Slowly he removed it from his body and laid it aside. Grabbing his bag he noticed Legolas shiver and it made him feel like something was at hand.
"Legolas, are you okay?" he asked, turning his gaze to the prince's. The elf shifted his gaze away from Aragorn's and nodded slowly, "'Tis nothing" he shuddered again, Aragorn's eyes showed concern. "I'm fine, really" Legolas tried to reassure him.
Aragorn turned to aid the wound, the bandage was stained with the elf's blood and the bruises around it seemed to have grown darker. It worried the king, though he did not want to show it to Legolas.
Slowly and carefully Aragorn removed the bandage and indeed found what he was afraid of, the gashes had not healed and had sprang open during Legolas handling to save his own life. Aragorn sighed and cleansed the wound a little, "It does not look to well Legolas, I wonder why it does not heal" he spoke in elvish. "'Tis okay Aragorn, I am a little tired, that might be the cause" the elf replied in the same tongue.
Aragorn nodded and took a new leaf out of his bag, then once added to the wound he rewrapped his lover's waist.
While Aragorn moved his hands over the elf's soft en delicate, not to mention beautiful skin, Aragorn felt hypnotized, love and longing building up inside of him. Often he felt the need to trail his hands off to Legolas's nipples as they had seemed to harden under his cold condition. To bend over and kiss his soft yet strong lips, but he could not, not until Legolas was ready and the wound was aided.
Often Aragorn found the body under his hands stiffen at the touch of his hands. The wounds obviously hurt the elf badly as his face often tightened in pain and soft gasps escaped his lips.
When done Aragorn looked at him guilty, "I am sorry for hurting you my love, though it was necessary none the less". Legolas simply nodded as he closed his eyes and leaned softly against the rock wall. "Thank you Estel" he whispered.
Aragorn was surprised to hear his elven name, "I would do anything for you" he whispered, gazing at the elf's face, which was lit dimly by the torch.
Pippin opened his eyes as he felt Sam shake him, "Awake Pippin, time for your watch" he whispered, careful not to wake the others. Pippin nodded sleepily and stood, allowing Sam to take his own spot among the sleeping hobbits. Pippin stretched and yawned, then sat down on the ground, watching the others sleeping.
"I do not understand this being at watch thing" he glared into the sky and saw the lord of the eagles circling above them, silently flowing through the darkness and dimly lit by the moon and stars.
He looked back to eye-level and noticed the scenery, though all was dark by nightfall, the moon and stars shone softly. The meadow lit up peacefully and it seemed to rock his friends carefully. The Caradhras's peeks shone out white because of the snow, though it did not look frightening like it had on their last journey across Caradhras. Pippin smiled, how could he let something that beautiful go passed his eye before?
His mind suddenly turned to Legolas, still trapped within the cave. He wondered if he was hurt, his feeling told him he was, but reality had shown no proof of it yet. "The elf always noticed the beauty surrounding us, even in the darkest hours he had eye for the beauty of nature" he whispered to himself. "No wonder elves are always optimistic and dimly glowing in the dark, peace and innocence themselves live in them". He let his gaze go over the camp and noticed Legolas' bow and quiver, which held many broken arrows.
"Of course..." he whispered, knowing they had been left broken until Legolas had found time during his watch to repair them.
Pippin had seen Legolas repair some of his arrows during the last quest and found himself racing silently towards the quiver.
"When he comes back out, all will be well" he said out loud and started to repair the arrows slow and careful, for he was definitely not as skilled as Legolas.
A/N What followed here was adult themed story and as per regulations I have removed this to keep it from little children's eyes - wouldn't want them scarred for life now do we ;) So feel free to let your imagination run wild haha.
