The Truant
S
I walked into school bright and early on a Monday with a brightened mood and a slight skip in my step. It was unnoticeable of course because, no matter how social I became, I would never be caught skipping.
I didn't know why my mood was so cheery or why the face of a certain blond idiot kept popping up in my head at random times yesterday. In fact, I don't know why I was happy at all, the constant reminder that my relationship had just became something more with that blue eyed moron was bloody annoying.
As I made my way to my locker, the slight skip in my step was gone and my face had morphed into a scowl; I had the biggest feeling my day was about to get infinitely worse as I spotted a familiar handsome blockhead waving enthusiastically at me while standing in front of my locker.
I didn't bother with greeting, "move."
He chuckled as he calmly slid out of my way, "well good morning to you sunshine." Before I could stop him, the fool had already leant down and quickly placed a small kiss on my cheek before moving away just as quick.
Although the rest of my body continued loading books into my bag as normal, my face heated up almost instantly. Naruto chuckled again and raised a hand to caress my cheek but I slapped his hand away quickly. "What do you want, Naruto?" I hissed at the blond.
Pouting, Naruto crossed his arms while holding a mischievous glint in his eye, "can't I spend time with the guy I'm dating?"
I shot him a glare before pushing past him to walk to my class, "I've told you before, we're not dating." I didn't have to glance at him to know that he rolled his eyes, "Ok, involved with, then."
"We are not 'involved'." I clarified again as I picked up my pace towards my classroom which was already in sight but before I could reach it my wrist was grabbed and pulled away from my destination.
Before I could properly complain I was shoved into an empty classroom, how many times have I been in an empty classroom with Naruto? Far too many that's for sure. Why are there so many empty classrooms in the school anyways?
"Then what are 'we'?" Naruto asked, his face was close to mine as his arms kept me prisoner against the door. His strained voice almost made me feel sorry for him but I couldn't muster up an ounce of mercy after the torture he put my thoughts through yesterday (even if he didn't know it).
"We," I began while gesturing between the two of us, "are nothing."
A low growl rumbled deep in Naruto's chest and although I hate to admit it, I felt a shiver run through me at the sound; before I knew it, the blond crashed our lips together. It was desperate yet passionate and I couldn't contain a soft moan that escaped from my lips and my hands gripped the back of Naruto's t-shirt.
As quickly as it started, it was over, and that was too soon in my opinion. As Naruto pulled away, despite my best efforts not to, my lips followed and instigated another kiss, this one, however, was slower and deeper as Naruto's tongue sensually caressed at my lips and his hands lowered to grip and tug at my waist. It took all that I had to stand straight as Naruto pulled away again with a slight smacking sound.
I caught my breath slowly and looked up to see a smug expression sitting happily on Naruto's face, "that, was not nothing." I rolled my eyes and moved to push him away from me but he took my hands in his and slowly caressed the back of my palms with his thumbs.
An awkward yet comforting silence hung in the room as Naruto stared deeply at my face and I continued to stare at my hands that he was fondling.
"I've found a new target." Naruto's voice cut through the silence in a soft murmur and forgetting my previous embarrassment I looked up into his eyes.
"Who?" despite my better judgement my voice was but a whisper causing a small grin to grow on his face as he squeezed my hands gently; he raised my left hand slowly and planted a gently kiss on my knuckles, I didn't bother knocking his face away and waited in anticipation as his mouth opened for the reveal, "the school truant, Gaara Sabaku."

Lunch, finally. For the whole morning hadn't seen Sasuke, we had no classes together and I could just imagine him having fun with Shino and Hinata during history class.
I sighed as I thought of this morning, Sasuke was being difficult; he knew of my feeling but he didn't want to acknowledge them, it made me sort of upset but determined all the same, I won't back down from a challenge!
Entering the canteen I spotted Sasuke, Hinata, Shino and Kiba talking lightly at the table; it brought a smile to my face that my group of friends was steadily increasing, and it was all thanks to Sasuke.
"Hey, Naruto!" Kiba waved me over in a jovial fashion, my smile morphed into a grin as I quickly jogged over and slumped into a seat next to Sasuke, sitting a little closer to him than a normal friend would.
"Sup." Hinata smiled back at me, Shino nodded and Sasuke just glared at my closeness but didn't bother move away, he only slid a tray in front of me. My grin widened slightly.
"Remove your hand from around my cousin's waist, Kiba." A cold voice called from behind me; I turned to see Neji and two of his friends take seats at our table and place their trays and bags down.
While Kiba's arm retreated from Hinata's vicinity, mine entered Neji's and pulled his head towards me so I could ruffle his hair, "hey Nej, are you sitting with us from now on?"
He pulled away from me and straightened up his hair while his friends giggled softly from next to him. He shot them a glare, "yes, I want to protect my innocent cousin's chastity from that dog." He explained, pointedly glaring at Kiba who raised his hands in defeat, "hey Neji, I'm not like that and you know it."
The brunet only raised an eyebrow, "do I?" I snickered softly at my best friend's uncomfortable situation, "by the way, these are my friends Tenten and Lee, they'll also be joining us here from now on."
The smile on my face slowly grew wider; it was an amazing feeling having new people join your table wanting to be friends with you on a regular basis. I caught Sasuke's eye and winked playfully at him while he glare back. His glare reminded me of something that need to be done.
"Hey Nej, do you know any people in your year that would know where Gaara Sabaku lives." I asked with a smile, the table silenced and Neji stiffened but his friend Tenten perked up, "yeah, his siblings Temari and Kankuro would definitely know."
"Don't they live together?" Kiba asked as his hand slipped back around Hinata's shoulder making the shy girl blush. Tenten shook her head, "no, the twins live together while Gaara lives somewhere else. Do you want me to call them over?" I nodded at Tenten who got up and glided over to where the twins where.
I watched her leave, "what's wrong with Neji?" Sasuke inquired from next to me with a raised eyebrow. Lee snorted while the brunet scowled at him but that didn't stop him from revealing, "last year, Neji had a youthful infatuation with Gaara and was devastated when he stopped showing up at school."
"But didn't he just transfer in last year?" Shin asked as he threw away his rubbish in the nearby bin, "exactly," Tenten said as she sat back down, "that's why it was love at first sight!" she cheered while elbowing the blushing brunet in the side.
"You called?" I spun around to face Gaara's older siblings with a smile, "hey, I just wanted to get Gaara's address from you." Temari's eyes narrowed while Kankuro's strayed along the table where he made and kept eye contact with someone, I didn't follow his gaze.
"Why?" She questioned and the smile on my face only grew more dazzling. "Sasuke and I," I slung my arm across the Uchiha's shoulder and pulled him closer to me, "want to persuade him to come back to school."
For the second time that evening there was a silence at our table and Temari's eyes widened slightly in surprise, "why?" she asked again, her tone was much warmer.
I shrugged, "why not?"
There was a heavy silence as we waited for the blonde upperclassman to make her decision. She eyed us warily before sighing and taking out a pen and paper. Inwardly a did a happy dance, outwardly I pulled Sasuke into a small hug which he quickly pushed out of and gave me a whack across the head.
"Here." Temari handed me the address on the paper before turning away, "don't blame me if you get hurt." She called over her shoulder before dragging her brother away.
As they left I could hear Kankuro's panicked voice, "did you see that sunglasses kid? I was sure he was staring at me the whole time, it was so creepy!"
Chuckling softly I turned to Sasuke who had taken the sheet from my hand and opened it, "it's close to school, we can walk." He stated, I nodded and got up when the bell went, this was going to be eventful.

I waited by my locker for Naruto like I usually did, the others had gone ahead since there really wasn't any reason for them to take part. I sighed and leant against the cold metal behind me, Gaara was the last person I needed, after him I would do the project and then what? Would I leave everyone and go back to being a lone wolf or would I stay with that annoying ball of sunshine that claims to be in love with me?
My face heated when I thought of that, just the mere mention of love and I was already having second doubts about whether I should stay or leave; this wasn't like me, I didn't hesitate.
I ran a hand through my hair and sighed before pushing off the lockers as I saw Naruto approach. Before I worried about after the project, I needed to fulfil the requirements.
"Ready?" he asked as he grabbed my hand with a smile, I didn't bother shaking him off knowing his persistence and scowled, "I'm always ready."
He smiled his bright smile before leading me out of school, for the whole journey all I could do was stare at our interlocking fingers, I don't know why but his unsurprisingly warm hands were surprisingly, very comfy.
N
Reluctantly, I let go of Sasuke's hand when we arrived at Gaara's doorstep. His abode was an apartment, a very expensive apartment that made me feel much unprepared.
"Ready?" Sasuke said with a smirk as if he sensed my uncomfortableness, glaring at him, I grabbed his hand again just to annoy him and knocked heavily on the door.
We waited for a moment before I knocked again, louder this time, "stop you idiot, you'll annoy the neighbours." Sasuke hissed at me.
I ignored him and knocked again as loud as I could; after the third rap the door was flung open to reveal an angry looking red head, "go home." He practically snarled before slamming the door shut in our surprised faces.
Turning to Sasuke I smiled, "well that went well didn't it?"
