"I can't believe Mikey was stupid enough to go on his own! I mean he's done some pretty dumb stuff, but this jus' might top it!" Raphael ranted as the group ran through the sewers. They all had to agree with Raph though. They each thought that this was one of the most reckless things Mikey had done. Before Mikey had been able to tell Raph where Donnie was, the line was cut off. That had worried all of them dreadfully. It also made Raph a little more angry at him. The only one who didn't seem to want to give the younger turtle a whack on the head was Leonardo. His insides were churning with guilt. He felt like most of this, at least the Mikey part, was his fault. Mikey was his lover and Donnie was his new brother. Not just that but their friend. In the short months he had more than proved his loyalty to them. He had done nothing wrong for Leo to feel angry towards him. Mikey was just overly excited and affectionate, but that's just how he acted. That was why Leo loved him. There had been nothing to be jealous about. Leo was in the back of the group as his thoughts gnawed at him. After they had saved them, he'd have to make sure to apologize to Michelangelo big time.
He lost his train of thought as he accidentally ran into Leatherhead. "Hey! Why are we stopping?" Leo asked while rubbing his now sore nose.
"Do you hear that?" LH asked, taking a step forward. They all stopped and strained their ears to hear what he was hearing. It was faint but they could all hear fighting somewhere further down the tunnel.
"Come. All of you, let us continue." Master Splinter said, being the first to keep running through the sewer. As they kept running, the fighting steadily got louder.
"I think that's Mikey!" Leo said from his spot in the back of the group.
They all started running faster until they came upon the sea green turtle. The first thing they all noticed was how beat up he was. He was bleeding and covered in bruises.
Michelangelo didn't even seem to notice them as he just kept swinging his nunchaku around in open air. "Uh... Michelangelo?" Leatherhead asked, taking a cautious step forward.
"Guys! I'm glad you made it. Now help me, dudes! It's the invisible Foot freaks." Mikey looked over at them, with a look of desperation. He was obviously tired of fighting an enemy he couldn't see.
Leonardo didn't need to be told twice and ran to his lover, taking a defensive stance in front of him.
"I'm sorry, Mikey this is my fault!" Leo said while looking all around the tunnel for any sign of the attackers. Just as he scanned the area once, he felt a blow to his chest that sent him flying back into Michelangelo. They both fell to the ground, Leonardo landing on top of the younger turtle. Leo immediately got back up and took a defensive stance again. He closed his eyes and widened his mind as Master Splinter had taught him. His hearing heightened and all he had to do was listen. In his mind he could see the form of all the invisible Foot bots' energy. Leo could see one coming towards him in his mind's eye. The invisible bot punched and Leonardo dodged, and then grabbed its arm. He swiftly flipped it over and stabbed it in the head with one of his katana. All the while he kept his eyes closed.
Splinter had noticed what Leonardo was doing, and proceeded to do the same. Raphael and Leatherhead looked at each other, unsure of what to do. Raph's temper had kept him from learning this specific mindset and LH wasn't a ninja so he didn't know how to in the first place. "Raph!" Leo yelled, throwing one towards Raphael. Raph gulped and threw his fist forward with a punch. He got lucky and felt his fist connect with the robots face. The metal crunched under his knuckles and sparks flew from the blow.
"Yeah! Woo! Keep 'em comin' Leo!" Raph shouted back in glee, his blood pumping from the thrill of the fight. Soon they had a system going. Leonardo and Splinter would throw Raph and Leatherhead Foot bots, and then the two brutes would take care of the bait thrown to them.
Donatello really had no idea where he was going. He really considered himself lucky that he hadn't run into anyone yet. It seemed a bit too lucky. His shoulder was killing him, and it didn't help that blood was trickling down his arm. Every once in a while, a drop of blood would drip from his fingers and onto the floor. Don clenched his teeth together and ground them. He felt kind of stupid now for going off on his own. Him and Mikey should have stayed together. He might have actually made it out of here faster. And he was supposed to be the clever one. He shook his head, knowing it was too late for regrets. He knew that he was the one Hun was after and he knew that Hun would use Mikey as a way of getting to him. He couldn't let that happen. He couldn't allow his new little brother to be hurt because of him. But why did Hun want him back so bad? Was it just his pride? Was it the idea that he hadn't been able to keep him in his possession? Could there possible be some other reason that Hun wanted him back.
Just as these thoughts started to linger in his mind, Don came upon another door. A bigger one with a HAZARD sign upon it. Of course his curiosity got the better of him as he went to open it. He assumed it was going to be locked, but to his surprise, it opened with ease. As he slowly went the door, he gasped, his earlier question being answered. Donnie walked through the door, and his eyes widened as he entered onto a catwalk. Quickly he made his way over to the railing and looked over the side, gripping it tightly. Beneath him, there was a long assembly line of Foot bots being made. Don bit his lip as he kept walking down the catwalk, making sure to be even more quiet than before. He knew this couldn't be good. Whoever the mastermind was behind this whole place and Hun, was making an army. There had to be thousands of Footbots being made right below him. They could take over the city, or even surrounding cities with all of these. There could even be more bots been made somewhere else. There was no telling. With such a shortage of technology at present, this other person must be incredibly powerful to have achieved all of this. This was why he was back here. It had to be. Hun needed him for this exact purpose. It had to be why. Donatello had no idea who else would be able to have this much technology and handle it well. Hun knew that he could though. He had spent most of his life fixing, improving, and redesigning any of the technology that had been sent his way. With all this man power, well robot power, it wouldn't be hard to get anyone to do what they wanted. Don realized that he must have been the easiest target without actually causing a commotion above ground and with the authorities. With all this power, not even the authorities would be able to stand up against it. The outside military would have to be brought in to help, but there would be no telling how long that would even take. How many people would have to die before then? They had to be planning something big. Don felt himself go even paler than he already was at the thought.
He needed to get out here. He had to warn someone. He wasn't sure who, but someone needed to know. He quickened his pace a little, still making sure to stay quiet. There was another door at the end of the catwalk. He really hoped it was an exit as he slowly opened the door and peeked through. It definitely wasn't and exit. There was a small set of stairs and then what looked like more hallways. He closed the door quietly behind him and then walked cautiously up the steps. He thought he heard something but wasn't sure if the blood loss that had still been making a steady trail behind him was just making him hallucinate.
"Did you really think you'd find a way to escape, turtle?" The deep voice of Donnie's nightmares sounded right behind him. He froze, hoping that it was only in his head and not real. He could only think of how stupid he had actually been. It was all he could think before he felt a large fist slam into the back of his head. The blow caused him to stumble forward, his injured shoulder hitting the edge of one of the steps. Don grunted in pain, the side of the step digging into his wound. Before he got the chance to move, Hun grabbed him and flipped him onto his shell. Hun pinned him down with his arm and used his other hand to push his head at an awkward angle against the steps edge. "I was wondering how long it would take you to find your way in here. You should be proud. None of that would have been possible without you." Hun mockingly patted his cheek.
Don looked up at him with a fire in his eyes. He clenched his fists as realization hit him. "My plans…" He said, barely over a whisper.
"You got it. It was pretty stupid of you to leave all of your life's work behind." Hun said with a huge grin. "Oh, and the robots your plans helped me built? I sent them after your little friend. I'm sure he's dead by now." Hun chuckled wickedly.
Don wriggled defiantly underneath him. All he could do was hope that Hun was lying to him to make him feel bad. If anything happened to Mikey, Don didn't know if he'd be able to forgive himself for splitting up. "I don't believe you." Donatello said through gritted teeth.
Hun roared with laughter. "Even when you couldn't talk you were this feisty. It's what I like about you. Too bad I won't get to hear that voice of yours much longer." Donnie felt his blood go cold. Hun couldn't be talking about the collar could he? Don had made sure he destroyed the only one. Hun smiled while he watched the fear grow in Donatello's eyes. "My partner wants to meet you. You're my little genius. I hope you're happy to be back." Hun reached down and picked Don up with very little effort and threw him over his shoulder.
They had finally defeated all of the invisible Footbots. With their group it hadn't been that hard to beat them all. Raphael cracked his knuckles one last time and then faced Mikey. "Okay, Mikey. Take us to Donnie." Raph said, trying to stay calm. Mikey nodded and started heading in the direction that he had originally came from. They all followed him until they reached a dead end. There was a ladder that led up. Without asking questions, they all climbed up the ladder.
They came up on what looked like an old parking garage. "I came through that door over there." Mikey pointed to door that was closest to them. They all followed Mikey through the door. A long hallway stretched out in front of them. Mikey motioned him to follow them as he ran down the hallway. Mikey suddenly stopped and opened a door. "This is where they kept us." Mikey said before Raph pushed him to the side and ran into the room. There was just one lonely bed with it's mattress covered in blood. Leonardo watched as his brother clenched his fists and tensed up. He quickly tabbed Raph and drug him out of the room. "Come on. We need to keep going." Leo looked at Michelangelo, nodding his head for him to keep leading the way. Mikey looked down and pointed at the blood trail. His throat tightened up and he couldn't speak. Leo got the idea and started following the blood trail, the others following close behind.
Donatello kicked and punched as much as he could, despite the pain in his arm screaming at him to stop. Hun just held on to him tighter and kept walking. They made it up two more flights of stairs before Hun seemed to start to slow down. They came upon a heavy metal door that even Hun had some problems opening. Once they were in the room, the door slammed shut behind them with a loud bang. Like the other room he had been in, the walls were made of concrete. All that was in this room though was a big metal chair.
Hun threw him down in the chair. Before Donatello could do anything, Hun dug his thumb into the wound on Don's shoulder. Don cried out, reaching his other hand up to the wound. While he was preoccupied, Hun strapped down his ankles and the strapped down his wrists. Don rugged and pulled, but to no avail. He slumped down in the chair, sighing in defeat. Hun was just standing there watching him with a smirk on his face. Hun brought his face close to Donatello's. Don didn't know what Hun had planned, but Don knew he wasn't going to sit there and take it. He brought his own face up as far as he could and but Don on Hun's nose. Hun screamed but Donnie just bit down harder until he felt the cartilage crunch beneath his teeth. He felt blood start to pool in his mouth, so he let God and spit it in Hun's face. "Burn in hell!" Don yelled. Hun stumbled back and put his hand over his face.
Donnie looked up at Hun, getting ready for the hit that was sure to follow. Hun didn't hit him though. He just wiped the blood off of his face and stared down at the brainiac. The look he gave Don though, wasn't an angry look. It seemed kind of smug. Don didn't like it when Hun had that kind of look on his face. It couldn't mean anything good. "I can't have you talking like that when my partner arrives." Hun said, malice and glee oozing from each word. Hun double checked that Donatello's straps were tied and tight. "Don't go anywhere." He told Don before leaving the room.
Donnie let out a big sigh and started pulling on his restraints with new determination. There was no telling why Hun left, and Don didn't want to stay here any longer to find out.
Just as Hun had started walking down the hall, one of his Purple Dragon thugs he had kept on security duty came running up to him from down the hall. Hun met him halfway down the hall, and then looked down at him, waiting for a report. The Purple dragon gulped and looked up at Hun. "Sir. There other turtles and a few other mutants have been spotted in the building. They're heading this way. What should we do?"
Hun growled in anger. These stupid mutants were always getting in the way of his fun. He needed to deal with them, but he couldn't risk them getting his pet genius back. He knew that the Shredder definitely wouldn't be happy if that happened. Hun pushed his goon to the side and stormed down the hallway.
Leonardo had kept leading the group until they reached the catwalk. Every single one of their eyes widened as they saw what was below them. Raph shook his head and took off down the catwalk. He didn't care about some stupid robots, he just wanted to find Donnie. He couldn't stand the thought of him being tortured more. Someone like him did not need to go through something so horrible. Especially since he had went through most of his life going through that stuff. No matter what it took, Raphael was determined to bring his lover home and keep him safe.
Raph burst through the door and ran up the small thing of steps. It wasn't long before the others joined in behind him. There was still a blood trail but it wasn't as prominent as it had been before. There was a small pool of blood on one of the steps. They all felt their stomachs twist in knots. They had no idea what was being done to Don at this very moment. They all wanted to think that maybe he had found a broom closet to hide in, but they all figured that wouldn't be the case. The thought made them all more determined as they sped up down the hallways, following the trail of blood.
Donatello sat in his seat. He had given up fighting his restraints once he finally realized that he wasn't going to get out of them. He sighed not knowing what to do. His mind was so jumbled at the moment. It was like his brain couldn't keep it's mind on one thing for too long. The two things that went through his mind repeatedly were Raphael, and the torture Hun might have in plan for him. One he wanted more than anything in the world, and the other just made his mouth dry thinking about it. He tugged at his restraints helplessly a couple more times. Of course, it didn't do any good.
Donnie perked up when the door opened again. Hope fluttered through his chest but it was immediately replaced with dread. Hun walked in the door, holding a thick collar in his hand. Don felt like he could faint. He would have remembered that collar anywhere. Especially since he had worn one just like it for the majority of his life. "N-No... No you can't! Stay away! Get it away from me!" Donatello screamed for dear life, feeling his vocal chords straining from the strength of his yells.
"Did you think I was stupid? Of course I kept all of the blueprints you made. I made sure to take it before you had any chance to get rid of it. Luckily, my partner has someone who's almost as good at this kind of stuff as you. You're still the best though, my pet." Hun said, completely ignoring Don's pleas for mercy. "It turns out we're going to have to relocate our little party somewhere else. Maybe this time your stupid mutant friends won't be able to follow us." Hun propped the door open and then walked over to Don.
Donnie screamed as hard as he could. He yelled whatever came to mind. "R-Raphie! Help! Someone! PLEASE!" His yelling came to a stop though as soon as Hun buckled the collar around his throat. Donatello felt the strong urge to keep screaming, but if Hun had been telling the truth, then he knew he'd be dead within the minute.
Hun undid his hands first, making sure to rebind them with some rope. He then did the same to Don's feet. Donnie felt like vomiting as he watched the smug look on Hun's face. Hun chuckled as he threw Don back over his shoulder. "They can't hear you now. No one will hear you again." Hun said to the olive colored turtle with as much malice as he could mutter. Which was quite a bit. Don's blood went cold and he went limp on Hun's shoulder. This couldn't be happening. How could this be happening? Donnie's breathing started becoming heavier as the beginning of a panic attack coming on. He closed his eyes as he completely lost control of his emotions. Hun didn't even care that he was hyperventilating, instead of trying to fight him off. In his eyes, this would make him easier to transport.
Hun looked over at the blubbering turtle. He smiled again and reached up, ripping Don's mask off of his face. It slowly drifted to the ground in the middle of the hallway. "A little something for your friends." Hun said wickedly before he started walking quick paced down the hallway.
They had followed the blood trail up two flights of steps. They couldn't help but wonder how big this place really was. It wasn't long before the blood trail ended. Raph fell to his knees, picking up the mask that was left in the hallway. Leo walked into the room that the blood trail led to, but closed it almost immediately. He didn't want Raph to look in there and see that it looked like a solitary torture room. Raphael gripped onto Don's mask, some dried up blood flaking into his palm. He stood up and tied the bandanna around his upper arm. Raph wasn't ready to give up. He was going to find Donnie. No matter what.
