This is a short chapter... sorry
Anyway thank you for reading and please review!
"Why don't we go the locations with SWAT teams?" Reid asked, right as the computer dinged again.
It had only a few moments after Hotch had given instructions. Somebody turned to computer so that they could read the message aloud.
"Come to any of the locations, and she's dead."
"I'm not risking it," Hotch said.
They had fifteen minutes left until they had to give their first guess. They had a list of fourteen and had narrowed it down to ten. The locations were quite specific, which helped them, but not by much. Reid had been able cut down ones that didn't meet the evidence that they saw in the video.
It had been forty-five minutes. Henry was still asleep and Will thanked god for that. They all worked in the conference room as they braced themselves for the first guess. Ten minutes ago Hotch had decided that it would be better to split off and extend the profile for the unsub. So they ended with Morgan, Hotch and Emily working on the profile and everyone else working on the location.
Will stopped examining the file he was holding for a second and took a deep breath. He reached into his pocket to get a bottle of painkillers. His hands shook as he opened the water bottle that was next to him. His head still throbbed, but nothing was going to stop him from helping. Glancing over at his watch, he saw that they had four minutes until the guess was up. He made a move to say something, but before he did, Hotch, Emily and Morgan walked in.
"Okay what are we going to use as our first guess," Hotch asked immediately.
"The cabin one. It is abandoned and secluded," Rossi said.
"Okay," Emily said, nodding.
It was less than thirty seconds when the unsub came back onto the screen.
JJ heard the plan, all of it. She knew what the unsub was doing. Her location wasn't anywhere on that list. She had been fake sleeping when the unsub walked in the room. She knew that her body couldn't take anymore pain, so she stayed that way.
The pain. She could barely see around it. Pain. Henry smiling. Pain. Will holding her. Pain. The "girl's nights" with Emily and Garcia. Pain. Spence playing with Henry. Pain. The team. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. It all started to blend together, but she had to fight it.
Forty-five minutes seemed to last forever. John hadn't come back in and JJ was grateful. Especially since she knew that what she was about to do, would not be easy. Her thoughts started to slow as she slipped into sleep.
JJ awoke to the sound of a door opening. Her heart started to race, which only made her body protest. JJ slowly raised her head to face John's. He smirked when he saw the pain it caused for her to do it.
"Ah, you're up. Finally. Time to have some fun!" John cheered, clapping his hands.
John reached into his back and pulled something out. JJ lowered her head defeated, but her screams mixed with his laughter echoed the room.
JJ awoke again. Her vision was blurry as she looked around carefully. She saw the blinking red light of the camera. She swore silently; she wanted to make the most of the time that she could communicate with the team. JJ moved a little, hoping to convey the message that she was okay to the team. John was facing the camera so he didn't notice. It was then that JJ saw the gun in his hands.
"Wrong way to go about his Agent Hotchner!" JJ heard. Then a gunshot
Then she felt pain. She looked down to see blood covering her legs and pain shooting everywhere from her right thigh. She breathed through her teeth.
"Dark room, around forty minutes from a hardware store," she coughed out. John turned to her. "His name is John. Forty, 6 feet. White. Black hair. Isolated, farm. Basem-" she said quickly, barely able to make the words out. Then it went black.
