Hi everyone! Sorry for not updating for some time XP I hope you like this chapter, we finally get to meet Koga! One of my favourite characters! Let's start the chapter!

Chapter 9: Wolf Tribe

It had been three days since the new moon and we're going at the fast pace. The mountains shouldn't be too far now. Shippo got his vest back after we argued while trying to find it. Sorry Shippo… As we got closer and closer to the mountains, I couldn't help but think why Shiguri hasn't send any of his servants to attack us. It can only mean two things.

One, He is luring us to the mountains so it's a waste of time to send his servants.

Two, the new servant is on his or her way.

The second possibility seemed more likely to us, hence why we're going faster. We have got to get to the mountains before this new servant. On our third day, we got a surprise.

" Can you hurry up!" I yelled at Kohaku and Shippo who looked tired " We're almost there! Just a day left."

" Can we rest Kanade?" Kohaku said as he took in deep breaths. " We've been travelling the whole day."

" I'm tired too." Rin said as she stopped running.

" But we're so close." I said.

" If we are tired when we reach there, we'll just be walking into trouble. We have to rest Kanade." Rin said. I sighed, maybe I was a little harsh.

" Okay, but let's walk a little further to rest." I said. Then I started to walk quickly. Then I heard Shippo murmur behind me " Crazy girl."

" HEAD DUNK!" I exclaimed as I grabbed the top of Shippo's head and pushed it towards the ground. Shippo yelled in pain.

" Be grateful!" I said " You should be glad I'm not making you run." Then I stormed off. I swear I saw Rin and Kohaku looked at each other at the corner of my eye. Okay, maybe I am being a little too aggressive but I just can't contain it! I am so near Shiguri, so near to getting revenge! We just need to-

Someone ran into me, making me tumble unto the ground. Gah! Who's the idiot who did it. The idiot got off me and rubbed his head. Then we both yelled at each other " Hey! Watch where you're going!"

We both blinked. I took a closer look at the idiot. He had long black hair tied up in a ponytail with a fur headband. He had a lean figure and tanned skin. He also wore wolf armour with a fur skirt, elbow and knee guard.

" Koga?" I said.

" Kanade? What are you doing here?" Koga said as we both got up.

" Hey Koga! Long time no see!" Shippo exclaimed as he went to Koga. Koga looked at Shippo and jumped in surprise. He stepped back and said " Do I know you?"

Shippo stopped walking, frozen. I had to stifle my laughter. Ha! Koga doesn't remember him! Koga took a closer step to Shippo and looked at his face closely. Then he said " I've smelt this scent before… but where… oh! You're the little fox demon aren't you!"

" That's me! How can you forget me?!" Shippo exclaimed.

" Well you grew up a lot so it's a bit hard to recognise you." Koga said. Then he looked at the rest of our team mates " I guess you guys are Kohaku, Rin and Kirara. Yo, long time no see."

" How can you recognise them and not me?!" Shippo exclaimed. I laughed out loud. Ha ha! It's just so hilarious!

" Koga~ wait up!" I heard another familiar voice.

" Stop running so fast!" Another voice said. I turned around. I saw two familiar faces. They both stopped to take in deep breaths. They both looked up, then they both smiled, with one of them blushing slightly.

" Kanade!" Ginta and Hakkaku said.

" Hey Ginta! Hakkaku! How have ya been?" I said as I went to them and ruffled their hair.

" Great!" Hakkaku said " Well sort of."

" How about you? You look as beautiful as ever." Ginta said.

" Fine I guess." I said, rolling my eyes.

" Hey! Isn't that the little racoon dog from before?" Ginta said as he pointed at Shippo.

" Not so little anymore." Hakkaku said he approached Shippo and put his elbow on his shoulder. Shippo looked even more annoyed.

" I'm not a racoon dog!" Shippo exclaimed. I laughed again. Then I turned to face Koga who was talking with Kohaku " What brings you here?"

" Trouble is brewing in the North Mountains." Koga said " One of the young wolves told me a few of our tribe have been killed by a person with knives all over his body. I am going to put a stop to that brat. How about you? The last time I saw you, you were a travelling alone."

" It's sort of a long story." I said " We're going to the North Mountains too. The one you mentioned is Tanken. He's the fourth servant of Shiguri."

" Shiguri?" Koga said " It sounds like Naraku all over again."

" It is." I said " Just not as dangerous I think. His servant, Kasairyu, is the one who attacked my tribe and yours."

" I hate that guy already." Koga said.

" So you're going to hunt down Tanken?" Kohaku asked.

" Of course! I've sent half of my warriors already. And… um…" Koga's voice faded. Huh? Ginta and Hakkaku started to snigger. What? Who else did he bring?

" Anyway, why not we travel together. If you travel with us, you'll get there faster." Koga said.

" That sounds like a great idea." Rin said.

" I don't mind." Kohaku said.

" Okay, we'll come with you. Where's your camp?" I said.

" Hey! You forgot my say in this!" Shippo yelled.

" Whatever. Weren't you complaining earlier you wanted to rest?" I said. Shippo didn't argue anymore. The five of us followed the wolf demons back to their camp. They were camping in an closed area full of trees. I see around 12 wolf demons gathering around a large fire, eating boar meat. Ginta and Hakkaku offered us some of the food. Suddenly, I heard a voice exclaimed " Kanade!"

I turned to look at a wolf demon with red hair in two pigtails and bright green eyes. She was wearing white fur instead of brown and had an iris in her hair. I smiled. " Ayame!" We hugged each other.

" Koga!" Ayame scolded as she faced Koga. Koga jumped in shock. " Where did you go? Why didn't you tell me? Aren't I your wife? You're suppose to tell me where you went."

" I just went scouting the area, nothing much!" Koga defended. So he brought Ayame along. According to what happened earlier, it wasn't willingly.

" Or running away." I heard Hakkaku whisper to Ginta before sniggering yet again. Koga growled at his men and they kept quiet and quickly ate their food. I sat down next to Kohaku and took a leg of a boar and start to eat it.

" So what happened to you Kanade?" Ginta asked me as he sat down.

" I told you, long story." I said.

" Tell me then." Ginta said.

" Ask Shippo." I said. Ginta seemed upset. Then he sighed and asked Shippo. I knew Ginta just wanted to start up a conversation with me. Trust me, he flirted with me the last time. I still haven't forgotten how. I swear he was a dog then, not a decent wolf.

" Kanade came to our village hurt with this huge lizard demon! I stopped if of course and Kanade stayed with us for a few days to take care of her. Then she told us about Shiguri and we followed after her to defeat him for our own reasons." Shippo said " But I don't recommend following her if you don't want too many injuries. She's hard to travel with."

Unaware to Shippo, I quickly gave him a head dunk. Shippo yelled in pain and then glared at me. I looked away, giving a 'hmph!'.

" Anyway… we found out with the help of a friend of mine and many witnesses that the servants are at the North so Shiguri could be there too. We just found out recently that they are at the North Mountains so we're heading there like you guys." Shippo explained.

" How are the servants like anyway?" Hakkaku said as he bit into his boar leg " Must be dangerous."

" There are four of them." Kohaku explained " One of them attacked your tribe according to Kanade. His name is Kasairyu, the fire demon. Tsurukina, a plant demon, is the second servant we met. There's Akumu, a dream demon, who recently attacked us and Tanken, the knife demon. We heard Shiguri's recruiting a new servant."

" A new servant?" Koga said as he sat down and took a boar rib.

" Yes, I don't know how he or she would be like though." Kohaku said " We only know the person is heading to the mountains."

" Hey Kanade." Ayame whispered in my ear. I looked up at her. She gestured me to follow her. I looked around, everyone seems to be minding their own business. I slowly got up and follow Ayame to the woods. When we were a few metres away from the camp, Ayame said to me " Hey Kanade, remember the time you asked me about Goshirai?"

Goshirai, my father. My wolf demon father. That's the only thing I know about him, it's his name. Mother never really talks about him. The tribe hates the name so it's an unspoken rule to speak his name. Right before the attack on the wolf tribe, I had asked Ayame if she knew Goshirai to find out more about my father. He was regarded as an outcast, a lone wolf. Why? Wolf demons always stick together, being a tribe is a strong bond that hardly ever can be broken. I wonder if… my father was a criminal.

" Yeah, why?" I asked.

" I don't know him personally but my wolf elder told me about him once." Ayame said. " Goshirai was part of my tribe, when most of us were living in the North Mountains. He's been a strange wolf, he is always solitary. But one day he had gained extraordinary powers. He had speed and strength as strong as when Koga had the shikon jewel shards, except he didn't have those. It was like he was granted with the power. But he also became more aggressive. He killed another one of us and he was banished from the tribe. I was told to keep a lookout for him. I'm sorry Kanade if this isn't the news you wanted to hear about your father, but that's how he was like. I can't really tell you how he is since I was a young wolf but that's all I know."

I was silent for a brief moment. I knew it.

" It's okay Ayame." I said " I just need to know who my father is. I feel like I need to know him."

" I know how you feel." Ayame said " My parents died when I was young so Choro had to take care of me and I remember I constantly asked him about how my parents are like. They're our relatives, it's natural to be curious about them."

" I wonder if he's alive." I said. Most likely not.

" I'm not sure about that." Ayame said.

" Oi! Ayame! Kanade! You there?" Koga called out to us.

" Oh! Coming!" Ayame called out. Then she said " We better go back before they worry."

" Yeah." I said. Then we walked back to the camp. I knew my father wouldn't be good news. He left my mother alone with me. How can he? He never came to visit, well I guess he can't. I know, but it still makes me angry. I remember the times my mother gave me that sad look when she told me about Goshirai. I've never seen him or heard him. All I have is his name, now I have his backstory.

I wish I had one more relative to comfort me. To make me feel I am back home.

We were running along side with the wolf tribe. I could already see the mountain ahead of us. I was running along side with Kirara who carried Rin and Kohaku. Kohaku was already in his suit and prepare his large pickaxe. Rin held out her sword. Shippo, Koga and Ayame were near us, also running. Koga had his Goraishi, a claw glove given to him by his ancestor spirits. Its claws scratches the ground as Koga ran. Shippo had prepared a handful of bombs incase we needed a distraction.

The pervious night we had made a plan to go to the top of the mountains, where Shiguri might possibly be as that was where the wolf demons used to live. It's possible that the servant, who could possibly a wolf demon from the northern wolf tribe, will be on his or her way there and Shiguri will meet him or her. We need to get there before it happens. Ayame's leading the shortcut to that mountain. The wolf demons in their wolf form are at the rear guard in case anything comes to stop us, like Tanken or Akumu. Maybe even Kasairyu and Tsurukina. If worst comes to worst, Rin or Kohaku will stay behind to attack whoever attacks us. I must have someone with me if I want to face Shiguri, that means Koga or Shippo or Ayame. I will have to face him. I must.

" Hey Kanade! Are you sure you're ready for him?" Koga asked me.

" Ready." I said.

" I'm not sure, Shiguri sounds like a powerful demon." Ayame said " And you don't have any weapons."

" All I need are my powers." I said.

" Don't do anything reckless okay?" Ayame warned me. Suddenly, I heard a howl of the demon wolves, we all looked back. Each one of them were savagely attack by large demon snakes. Their scaly bodies wrapped around each wolf and strangled them. Some of them bit them. Damn it, Shiguri had other creatures too?!

" You said there were four servants!" Koga yelled at me as we stopped " There are at least 20 of them there."

" How was I suppose to know! I only knew about the four servants!" I exclaimed. Suddenly, a young man around the age of 23 ran out of the forest on his hands and knees and pounced on the nearest wolf demon. He had large pointy blades jutted out from his back and along his limbs. His black hair was pushed towards his right and his reddish eyes look crazy. He looks like a monkey demon, but in human form and minus the hair. The wolf demon quickly tried to attack back but was cut up by him.

" Damn! It must be that demon killing our tribe members!" Koga exclaimed.

" Come on Ginta! We've got to help!" Hakkaku exclaimed, then he raised his spear and charged forward. Ginta, who was slightly blur then, quickly snapped to his senses and ran down with Hakkaku, yelling.

" We better get out of here." Kohaku said. Then we ran forward, but suddenly I saw something jump over us and land in front of us. Damn! That imp is agile.

The knife demon cracked it's head from side to side, looking at us with his beady eyes as he muttered in a shrilly and gruff voice " No let them go Akumu said, No let them go. Get the girl and kill. Get the girl and kill! KILL!"

" What on earth are you mumbling about? Get out of our way." Koga ordered.

" No no! Kill! Must kill!" He screeched.

" I'll take care of him, you guys go ahead." Kohaku said as he took out his pickaxe and got off Kirara.

" Kohaku!" Rin said.

" It's okay, I'll be fine, just go!" Kohaku said. I nodded, we've still got most of us, we can make it.

Ayame, Koga and I ran forward, trying to dash past Tanken. Tanken got on his fours and ran towards us, towards me. Kohaku quickly got in front of me and used his pickaxe to block the oncoming blades on Tanken's hand. Shippo, Kirara and Rin managed to escape past him. Then we continued running up the mountain. We're leaving this up to you Kohaku.

As we ran up the mountain, Ayame questioned me again " Are you sure you can do this! You can't just run blindly into battle."

" I told you Ayame, I'm fine!" I yelled.

" But he's a powerful demon." Rin said " I know you want revenge Kanade but be reasonable-"

" I can do it!" I yelled. No more words were said. I must get to Shiguri and kill him. I must, for my family. Please.

A small cloud of black mist gathered at our feet. Oh no, Akumu! We need to get past this! The mist became thicker and thicker. Koga started to stop.

" Don't stop! Keep running. Breath it in and you'll go unconscious." I warned. Koga slowly picked up his pace. I saw Rin putting on a gas mask on herself before tying a large cloth over Kirara' mouth and nose. Then she ordered " Kirara, stop."

" Rin, what are you doing?" I asked.

" I'll buy some time, delay her. You guys go on without me." RIn said. Then Kirara stopped flying and landed on the ground as Rin got off. I didn't stop running. Rin's a good fighter, I can depend on her. We continued on. I hope the smoke didn't get her. We were half way up the mountain and we already lost 3 quarters of our original group. I didn't expect the snakes to come up and attack. Is Shiguri a snake demon? Maybe I should have come more prepared… no time to think of that now. I will beat Shiguri with my bare hands if I have to. We've just got to stop that fifth servant from reaching him!

I wonder if there will be more obstacles ahead. More snakes? Other beasts? How about Kasairyu and-

Trees grew all around us at lightning speed , making us stop in our tracks. They grew extremely high and tall so that it would be impossible to jump over it. Damn it! We're trapped. Then I heard a familiar voice " Long time no see! Come on, let's get over this quick. I'm late for my nap."

We turned around and saw Tsurukina, she had this evil smirk on her face. I could see she lost her right arm. I remember, she lost it during our last battle, she can't regrow her arm thanks to Sesshomaru-sama. Her right sleeve of her loose kimono hand limply at her side. Then she said to me " Hey Kanade, where's the dog demon?"

" Not here." I said. Tsurukina pouted. Then she said " Oh, that's sad. I wanted him so I can kill him."

But the Tsurukina grinned. " No matter. Turns out losing my arms is a really big benefit." Then she raised her other arm to the side and wooden stalks grew out of the ground. They became thicker and thicker, entwining with each other then they were uprooted and attached itself unto Tsurukina's shoulder, under her sleeve. The wooden arm was as long as Tsurukina's body and had many other tiny limbs. Damn it, she's got a freaky wooden arm now!

I quickly looked around to search for an exit. There was no gap between the growth. Damn. " You can't escape, don't interfere my master!" Tsurukina yelled.

Shippo quickly whispered to us " I'll make an opening with my fox fire, run as fast as you can. I'll take care of her." We nodded. Then Shippo quickly shot a huge pillar of blue fox fire at a thick growth of plants, a huge hole gapped open. I quickly ran towards the exit and jumped through. Safe! Koga jumped out safety after me. But before Ayame could jump through, a mother thicker wall of covered the hole in front of it.

" Ayame!" Koga exclaimed as he got up and went to the wall, pressing his hands on it.

" Koga!" Ayame yelled from within. I could hear Tsurukina's laughter from inside. " Run! I'll help Shippo, help Kanade!"

Koga nodded. Then he faced me and said " Well, what are you waiting for. We better get to Shiguri before he mets this new servant."

I nodded. Then we ran on our way. We're coming near the place where the wolf tribe used to live. One the way, Koga asked me " Hey Kanade, any more people coming to stop us?"

" I don't know." I said. " Let's see… Tsurukina, Tanken, Akumu, weird snake servants… Kasiaryu!"

" You called?" A voice said. Then a wall of bursting flames appeared in front of us, forcing kola and I back. There's no was we could jump over or go around it. Then someone appeared out of that flames, the same red haired guy who attacked my tribe and was responsible for killing my tribe under one's orders with others.

" Kasairyu." I growled.

" Miss me?" Kasairyu said in a cocky tone " Well Shiguri-sama said you can't pass through. Hitting two birds with one stone, getting the servant and the nymph. That's perfect."

" It's you!" I heard Koga growl.

" Oh, you're the wolf demon right?" Kasairyu said. " What was you're name again? Koku? Hoga?"

" Don't you act so cocky porcupine head." Koga growled " Goraishi!"

Bubbles of lightly surrounded Koga's hand, slowly forming a furry glove with sharp blades on it. Wow, that is awesome. I had run away during the attack because I knew whoever attacked the tribe wanted me so I never saw Koga fight with his legendary Goraishi. It looks awesome.

" Kanade!" Koga said.

" On it." I said as I drew my water whip. Then I smiled and said " Let's get over this quick."

Unknown P.O.V

Something was going on down there. He knew it, but it wasn't his problem. He needed to get something. Something very valuable to him. It reminds him of who he is and maintains it. If broken, he will lose his powers and die. His soul was stored in it. After he left the tribe, he lost it. He has been searching it for the past 10 years. News he received that he would find it here. Why here? He has been here several times yet he has not found it. What makes it so different this time?

He's here.

He looked around the barren rocky area, a faint white mist surrounded the place, so thin it didn't seem like it was there. He looked around, the aura around here is creepy. Like he was falling for a trap. Still, he needs to find it. Before he could take a step, a deep voice with a slight hissing accent said "I've been waiting for you."

He quickly turned around and ran towards the large figure behind him. The figure moved away just in time to see him punch the rocky wall, creating a deep dent in it. Small rock crumble from the crack.

" You are as strong as they say they are." The figure said " And fast too."

" Who are you?" He said.

" I am your partner." The figure said. He looked at the figure carefully. He was a tall man with wild green hair down to his waist. His yellow eyes were of a serpent, those narrow pupils were staring at him. He wore a long white kimono shirt with two blades on his belt that held his black pants up. All over his body were green scales except his hands, feet and facial features.

" I work with no one." He said.

" I am if you want it back." The figure said, then he showed him what he was looking for. He attempted to take it back but the figure hid it away quickly. He stumbled forward, trying to stop his own quick momentum. He stopped and said " It belongs to me."

" No it doesn't." the figure said. " It belongs to the one who bestowed you those powers, I have claimed it after her death and now it belongs to me."

" Return it." He said.

" No, but I do not want to fight. I have come to give an offer." The figure said " Do what I say, then, this is all your's."

" I don't work with people." He said.

" Then you won't have it." The figure said. He remained silent, then he said " Who are you."

" Shiguri, your new master."

Yes! We finally meet Shiguri after a long time! The main antagonist! Let's see if 'He' would join him… good luck to the gang on beating the servants!
