ScareS 4, Sonadow, Fleetourge, Mephilver (Part 2)
When Shadow came to, it was to the feeling of warmth all around him and the scent of wet dog.
He tried to move, but something heavy on him prevented the movement. He opened his eyes and found, that he could see again, but he wasn't sure, if he wanted that.
The memories had come back and he remembered Sonic...how he attacked him. How he...was killed.
Tears threatened to make their way down and he wanted to wipe them away, but both his hands were trapped between his chest and...and what?
He angled his head, trying to find out, what was wrong and his breath hitched. Something big and fuzzy with long dark fur was on him. Right, that beast, that had killed Sonic. Had it taken him away? Now, that he thought about it, he seemed to be in a cave, seeing himself surrounded by rocks. Why didn't it eat him right after he fainted?
Oh, right, Sonic did give it probably a good deal of wounds, never one to just leave, it had to drag him away and recover first, before it could think about eating him.
The dark hedgehog smirked. Perfect. With a little luck, he had been unconscious for enough time to heal – it was speeding up, when he wasn't conscious, after all – and had recovered as good as necessary to kill that beast and avenge Sonic.
He wiggled a little, to see, how movable he was by now, only to have the creature tighten its hold – its paws and front legs were around his body, as he noticed now – on him, making the weight of its turned away head on him heavier.
"Great.," he thought and wiggled again, feeling, that the wounds were gone. His ribs still felt tender, but they weren't broken anymore. He was good to strike – if this brainless beast would already move!
As if it had heard him, the creature moved its head away and allowed him to roll off its legs. He quickly straightened himself and looked at the beast. His breath hitched. It wasn't just any creature – it was a werehog. But...but Sonic had never told him that!
"Why, Sonic? Why didn't you tell me? Didn't you trust me to keep this a secret?," he thought regretfully, before he quickly recovered. He had a revenge to do.
He stalked closer to the creature, trying to find its weak point, but it was completely covered in thick fur, giving it a perfect protection – especially, since he had neither a weapon, nor a Chaos Emerald with him.
If he would ever go on a mission like that, he would be dead. Flexing his hands to fists, he decided, that using his bare hands would be satisfying enough for him. He would beat this monster to unidentifiable mush, then burn down its remains and scatter its ashes in all directions!
He stopped in front of the peacefully resting figure, raising his balled fist above his head, ready for the first punch, when he suddenly found himself on his back, with the creature standing over him, standing over his arms, but thankfully not breaking them.
Shadow stared hatefully up at the creature's dark green eyes, hating, that they were resembling Sonic's.
He kicked the beast off, jumped up and lunged at it, but it shook him easily off, making him fall to the floor.
Quickly standing up again, he tried to land a hit, but he only met a soft furred shoulder, not dealing enough damage to be really called so. The creature seemed to think the same, because it just shook its body a little. Shadow looked around, trying to find an opening, that would lead outside, so he could extend their battlefield to a size he could actually use, but he was surrounded by rocks – and this thing would for sure not show him, how it escaped this hole.
Growling in frustration, Shadow shoved the thought away and tried a kick, but the beast just jumped away, obviously knowing the cave, as it didn't even bump its quills against the low parts of the ceiling, while doing this.
"You can't escape from me! I will kill you for what you did!," Shadow shouted and charged close again, but didn't expect the beast to actually do the same.
Before he knew it, he was on his back again, the beast sitting on him, using its weight to render him immobile. Shadow struggled with all his might, but it was no use. The monster was looking down on him, leaning down, its jaws opening.
"Forgive me, Sonic. I failed you.," he thought, clenched his eyes shut and waited for the deadly bite.
