I heavily sigh and run a hand through my hair, trying to make my footsteps as quiet as I can. I really don't want to face that stupid rabbit. My ear flickers, taking in all the ticking clocks, clicking plates and tapping feet. Where is he? I try to concentrate but all the noise starts making my head throb. Ugh ... too much noise. How does Elliot deal with it all?
"Oh, Miss Jackie, you are leaving?" A maid asks as she passes by, slowing down to look at me. Oh gosh I've been caught.
"Um, yeah, I'm going to my job." I explain, ears anxiously pressing against my head. Oh no and now she's probably going to go tell Sidney. After I make it to the gardens I'm going to have to make a run for it.
"JACKIE!" Sidney's voice angrily barks. I suck in a quick breath and plan to make a mad dash out of this hell hole but my legs remain rooted to the ground, paralyzed. Even if I do run he'll catch up to me. Stupid rabbit legs of his. Stupid, stupid lender and strong rabbit legs of his-oh my gosh did I just think that? My face darkens to a bright red as my ears pin to my head. W-Wait, do I actually think his legs are beautiful?
... gross I think my ex boss's legs are hot ... BLECH!
"W-What?" I squeak, almost too quiet for him to hear at the distance he's at before walking right up to me and grabbing my arm.
"You are thinking of leaving now? What about her majesty's 'cuddle' session? You aren't planning to neglect your duties, are you?" He suspiciously asks, turning me around in his strong grip. His irritated eyes glance over my face before narrowing. "Why are you so red? Speak."
"T-The next cuddle session isn't for another few time changes!" I stammer, finally finding my voice. Wait, wait am I blushing? No, I'm not. I refuse to admit to it! "I'll be back in time so let go!" I sharply growl, ripping my arm out of his grasp and probably earning myself a decent bruise. He stares hard at me before a near sadistic grin pulls his lips up, folding his arms together.
"You're right. If you know what's good for your violin you will be back. However, I am assigning you an escort. ACE!" Sidney shouts, his voice echoing down the halls and making my ears ring with his deep voice. I blink, startled. Ace is here? Oh ... that's right. I've never had a proper tour of Diamond Country now that I'm thinking about it. Maybe I'll ask Nightmare to give me a break this time change and the next so I can explore a little before I have to come back to the castle.
"E-Escort? Sidney that's ridiculous! I don't need an escort and Ace is the worst person to escort me. He gets lost so easily!" I argue.
"My decision stands, rabbit." He bitingly growls, looking as if he could render me in half with his clenched teeth alone.
"But why? It's not like I can run away." I snap. His fingers grip his arms a little tighter, clearly reaching the ends of his ropes. I better not push him much more than this or else he really might snap.
"You're right. You can't run away. Not while I have your violin." He says, his gaze cutting right through me. Why does he keep saying that? I know he has my violin and the consequences if I don't come back. It's starting to sound like he's reassuring himself more so than threatening me. My ear flickers, hearing a bit of struggling down the hall. We both look at the same time, spying two guards guiding a young Ace towards the front door. His happy go lucky smile puts me at ease. At least he's easier to deal with than this irrational bunny.
"Hey, why are we going this way? The front door is that way." He says, pointing towards a utility closet. Good gosh is it possible he's worse than before? I walk past Sidney, walking right up to Ace before taking his arm. I know how to somewhat manipulate him so hopefully this works.
"Yes, I'm the new foreigner around here, no, we aren't supposed to have rabbit ears, yes I will go with you to visit Julius sometime and yes, I will go on an adventure with you sometime in the future. Now let's go." I say, catching his hand and dragging off the young Ace with me. My ear twitches, hearing a faint growl from Sidney's chest. What the hell is he growling for?
"Wow! You answered my questions before I could ask," he laughs, trotting along with me as he wraps his arms around mine. The faint, annoyed click of Sidney's teeth give me an idea. Huh ... I think, if I'm right, he's the jealous type? It would make sense considering what happened after I came back smelling like Gray. I wrap my arm around Ace's shoulder and pull him into me, hearing Sidney's gloves strain. Wow, just wow he's really getting mad over this? What an overbearing, annoying, self centered and selfish pansy.
"Hey, hey foreigner, where are you kidnapping me to?" Ace excitedly asks as he sticks to me like glue. Well, at least he's still his touchy self. Normally I don't like people touching me but I don't mind it so much anymore. Is it because I'm a rabbit now? Ew if I develop into a social butterfly I think I'll die.
"The Train Station and then you can go off and do whatever you like."
"Really? Hmm~ then I think I want to fight with Mr. Lizard. I heard he's moved into the Train Station. Is that true?" He asks as we make it out the front doors and towards the garden.
"Ah~ don't do that." I sigh. Gray and Ace don't get along at all. Wait, that's not right, is it? I slow down, deep in thought. Why can't he fight Gray other than the reason he would destroy him? There was another reason, right? Like before ... before when? Wait, I was in another country before this, wasn't I? Yeah, I'm sure of it.
I ... am I starting to forget the other countries?
‡
" ... and then I stuck the bear right through while he was mauling me. Isn't that cool?" Ace laughs as he babbles endlessly about this and that adventure he's had. I don't really care to listen to them as I trot towards the Train Station, grabbing his collar and steering him onto the right path here and there. I just want to go to the Train Station and relax for a little bit with the machines there. My fingers irritably slide through my bangs as I yet again grab Ace who attempted to wander off.
"Knock it off." I huff, dragging him back next to me as I glare at him with my ears pressing against my head. If Sidney seriously thinks that keeping Ace with me will damper my mood while I'm out he's dead. Wrong. Tch, stupid idiot.
"Ha ha, you can only look cute when you're angry." He teasingly grins as he grabs my ears. A frightened shiver shoots up my spine as I let him go and shrink back.
"Ow, ow ow let go! Let go of those!" I worriedly cry, feeling my eyes well up with pained tears. That hurts that hurts that hurt-!
"So soft~," he chuckles before I feel something warm and wet clamp down over the tip. My legs freeze up as his teeth scrap over the sensitive cartilage, making my chest explode with fright and horror. Don't bite it off-!
"LETGOLETGOLETGO!" I shriek, leaping back easily ten feet.
"Oof," a deep voice breathes as I smack into someone's chest, feeling him give for a moment before grabbing my arms. My spine stiffens up as my head shoots back, looking up at a very tall man with gray hair, dressed in a sharp suit. H-He looks really familiar but where have I seen him before? A shiver crawls down my spine as his narrowed eyes roll over me, studying me for a moment before a frighteningly stiff smile pulls his lips up.
"Good morning. You must be the new Prime Minister." He wonders out loud, his grip holding firm as his finger thrummed against it.
"P-Prime Minister?" I stammer, startled by the name. I-I may be dressed like Sidney but he doesn't honestly think I'm the Prime Minister.
"Yes. You are dressed like the Prime Minister. I wonder who finally killed him?" He muses, touching a finger to his chin before loosening his grip.
"K-Killed him? No, that's not-," I start as I pivot out of the way, stopping short as his hand trails down my arm before cupping my hand in his.
"My name is Jericho Bermuda. It is a pleasure to meet you." He sweetly smiles, shaking my hand in a friendly greeting.
"U-Um, Jackie." I say, flinching as his grip tightens considerably. "O-Ow, that's too tight!"
"It's a shame I wasn't the one to finally put the bullet between Sidney Black's eyes but I suppose it would be easier to take your role here, while you are available." He says, keeping a firm grip as he pulls a hand gun out from behind him. My eyes widen as I start to struggle harder.
"N-No you've got it wrong I swear! I-I-I'm not the Prime Minister-!" I nearly shriek watching as he takes dead aim right between my eyes. My eyes widen as I finally recognize where I've seen him. He's the man who's back I threw out earlier. Before I could identify myself a silver blur whipped in front of my face.
BANG-CLANG
His hand vanishes as a shoulder digs into my arm and throws me off my feet. I stumble back into a wall, spying Ace holding a sword up to the puzzled man and his smoking gun. H-He actually fired the gun?!
"Ace. I'm sorry to kill your boss but business is business." Jericho pleasantly smiles as he states his premeditated murder in a very calm and casual way. H-He's crazy! I haven't done anything to him.
"Huh? That bunny's not my boss. She's a one hundred percent foreigner!" Ace grins as he puts his sword down and juts his thumb towards me. I stiffen up as the man looks to me again, clearly surprised at the information.
"Foreigner?" He asked, looking to me before his eyes narrow. "I wasn't aware foreigners too had rabbit ears."
"N-No, we don't. Crysta changed me into a rabbit and put me in an outfit like Sidney's." I quickly explain, eager to get rid of the mix up. Why she did that I have no idea but I have a feeling it's so she can have two bunnies that look similar to cuddle with.
"I must admit that wouldn't surprise me." Jericho admits as he puts his weapon away with a small laugh. "I apologize for startling you in such a way."
"F-Fine, that's fine," I accept, still scared stiff of the man. He just almost blew my brains out of my head for being a rabbit who the hell knows what else will set him off.
"You look awfully familiar without those ears on your head. Have we met before?" He asks, pulling out some glasses from his front shirt pocket. He unfolded them and set them on his nose, recognition immediately coming to him. "That's right, you're the young woman that fell on me in the Graveyard."
"Yeah, I am. S-Sorry about that."
"Hm, rather than apologizing, would you care to join me for a stroll? I would like to make up for my rude behavior." He suddenly offers, surprising me. Wow, so suddenly?
"I-I was actually on my way to work." I nervously reject, feeling my stomach twist up in knots from the sheer confidence from his voice to the sure way he stands.
"Well that's a shame. Where at?" He innocently asks.
"The Train Station." I answer. "I was going with Ace when we ran into you. Ace?" I call, looking around for him. Good hell that kid can get lost fast. Jericho's eyes widen slightly before smoothly smiling.
"Why not take the day off? I promise that I will return you safe and sound." He smoothly purrs with cool eyes. I nervously gulp as I glance off to the side in thought. W-Wow, just wow. I kind of really do want to go with him.
I glance back at the front doors of the Train Station, tempted to blow off my first day of work. Normally I would never consider doing this but, well, Nightmare will be just fine. He's easy enough to win over by just sneaking him a good meal here and there. Pffft I'm being so bad, blowing off my responsibility right now. But if the Country of Hearts has taught me anything it's good to get to know the people of Wonderland.
"I, I guess it couldn't hurt. Just let me run in and let him know," I say, turning to leave but he gently catches my arm.
"No, that's alright. I will send someone to let him know in your stead." He sweetly offered with eyes shining of sapphire. Good hell he must be the devil because he's literally charming the sanity right out of me. Why do I feel so meek and helpless? Tch, I blame these stupid bunny ears. Not like that stops Sidney from being a jerk most of the time. Ooh~ I'll bet it would really piss him off if I come home with someone else's scent. He got all huffy when I came back smelling like Gray and was pissed beyond reason when I touched Ace. Mwahahaha~ karma is not kind now is it, Sidney?
‡
"I'm so glad you agreed to come and join me this Afternoon, Jackie. I hope this helps rekindle our relationship?" Jericho suavely asks, leaning back after a meal well eaten.
"It's a start." I chuckle, trying not to show my aching, obviously slightly bulging stomach. I can't remember the last time I ate that much but, but this sushi is delicious! I couldn't help myself and actually ate half the platter whereas Jericho was only able to stomach a fourth of that. But, it was really good so that's alright.
"I'm surprised you can eat meat. I was curious if your little bunny stomach could handle something as fishy as sushi." He lightly teases, taking a sip of red wine.
"Yeah, I'm glad. Sushi is one of my favorites." I grin, enjoying the lingering taste of ginger on my tongue but not so much the gurgling of my over capacitated stomach. Oh I'm going to be hurting tonight but so~ worth it~
"Go ahead and order desert, Jackie. I will be back shortly." He says, laying his wallet on the table before heading for the front door.
"Where are you going?" I ask, my eyes darting to his wallet. Don't tell me there's nothing in there and he's going to leave me to pick up the tab. I have no money.
"There is business I need to attend to. It will not take long, I assure you. And then I could give you a tour of the Art Museum." He offers with an enthusiastic grin. Ew. Well, it won't be so bad. After all I already reek of his scent and no doubt that stupid black bunny will be getting a whiff full of it when I return.
"Alright, but until then I'm holding your wallet ransom," I tease, taking the wallet and brazenly sticking it in an inside pocket.
"Very well, but do beware of the two nails in it. I just recalled that I forgot to take them out while I was at the Graveyard. A little miss falling on top of me distracted me from my duties that day," He smiles, tapping a finger to his lips. My lips pull into a sheepish grin as I watch him leave before rolling my eyes and looking at the desert menu. Alright now what does this place have that's chocolate heavy and smothered in peanut butter?
I nearly jump out of my chair as the entire table shook from a loud thump against the wooden surface. My head snapped around, spying Gray's cool gaze as he unlatched the case's metal loops.
"G-Gray, what are you doing here?" I ask, looking back to the familiar looking case. My eyes grow wide as I spy my violin safely tucked away into its bed without a single scratch on it. "How-?!" I cry, jumping up from the chair and knocking it back. Others in the restaurant glance over at the commotion but keep to themselves, obviously not wanting to get involved in any way, shape or form.
"I happened to be near Diamond Castle and happened upon it. I expect to see you at the Train Station tomorrow with all your things, seeing that you'll now be staying at the Train Station." Gray finalizes, locking the case back up.
"Train Station?" I ask as he flips out a cigarette and lights it, "why-blech!" I shout as he blows a big puff of toxic smoke my way before walking out. Wait, wait he still has my violin! I cough and hack to regain my breath, pounding on my chest. Ouch, for some reason that seemed stronger than usual. Or am I just more sensitive? The dig of the door makes my ear flicker as I whip my head around, seeing him leaving the restaurant.
"Hey, hey wait a minute!" I shout as I run after him and out the door, "where did you find it?"
"In the black rabbit's hole. I took it from him a number of time changes ago." He nonchalantly says, heading for the Train Station with me tailing right behind him.
"A number? How many?" I ask. Sidney was acting like such a hotshot today. I swear, if he threatened me without actually having my violin, I'll kill him! And, if not kill, then at least kick the stupid head until I'm satisfied.
"I would have to say about 4 Afternoon time changes." He estimates, keeping a firm grip on the violin case.
"4?!" I shout, absolutely livid. That egotistic stupid son of a bunny b****-!" I shout, lunging towards the castle before stopping short. "Gray, hug me. I'm going to go piss off Sidney." I sternly order, going ahead and wrapping my arms around him.
"Piss him off how?" He curiously asks, wrapping an arm around my shoulders in compliance. I'm surprised he's actually hugging back.
"I found that it pisses him off if another person's smell is on me and I want that idit red in the face in anger as he stares at my a** walking through the doors and leaving that stupid castle with all my stuff. Now breathe on me." I order, rubbing my forehead against his shoulder as he took a deep inhale of his cigarette. I'm going to go back reeking of so many people it's bound to piss him off. Hopefully I run into some other Role Holders so I can get their smell on me too. Actually, I'll just drop by the Hatter's and get the twins and Elliot. That should do the trick.
"I'll give you more than that. Open your mouth." He orders, flicking his half done cigarette on the ground as he tilts my head up. My eyes widen as his lips smack against mine in a rough manner, cutting my lower lip with his teeth. Ouch! What the hell?! I nearly gag as he shoves his tongue into my mouth, sweeping it over the bumpy surface of my tongue as I struggle in his grip. Ew, ew I'm suffocating here!
I try to pull back but his arm hooked around my waist and slipping right into my pants, taking a cheeky grab as I tried to push him away. Ew, ew get off my butt! He kept our lips locked as he breathed into my mouth, filling my lungs up with the smelly gas before letting go. My head whips back with a deep, greedy breath as I sag to the side slightly and try to get my breathe back. Geh, I taste like cigarettes gross!
"What the hell was that?!" I breathlessly demand, coughing and gagging at the awful taste. Ugh, I'm dying! Never, never kiss a man who just got done smoking-!
"That taste will be inside you now and on your lower lady parts. He'll be thinking of me and assume we f***ed, further pissing the bunny off." He simply explained as he pulled out another cigarette, acting as if he didn't just shove his tongue down my throat. "He may be the Prime Minister but he's still a man with a d*** for a brain."
" ... G-Gray that's perfect. T-Thanks." I stammer, coughing as I try to clear out my lungs. Ugh this tastes so bad ... I need a breather for a few minutes.
"My pleasure. That rabbit has been on my nerves lately and I'm willing to get back at him through your expense. Hm, I almost forgot." He hums, walking back up to me. Oh gosh what is he going to do now? "Turn around and bend over."
"G-Gray what are you going to do?" I stammer, backing up from him, "y-you did enough, I'm good."
"Not yet. He'll know if I don't make you swollen." He says, grabbing my ear.
"Ow! Ow, ow Gray stop!" I shout as he gets down on one knee and callously yanks me over so my hips are on his thigh.
"Hold still." He orders, bringing his hand up.
Oh no.
‡
Ugh that stupid jerk ...
I wobble through the street as my butt ached horribly. I can't believe he spanked me as if he was punishing some kid for stealing something! UGH! This hurts so much I don't think I'll be able to properly sit for hell's sake! I can't believe he whipped out his stupid belt too ... I am going to have so, so many bruises. But, if it pisses Sidney off, it's worth it ... sort of oh gosh I need a break.
"Ow ... ow ow ow ... ," I whine under my breath, hunching forward as I lean against a brick wall with Diamond Castle just a few more streets down. I just need to rest a little bit. Ow ... so, so much ow right now ... I can't believe how thorough he was. He acted as if I was going to go ahead and do a strip show for Sidney so he went ahead and bruised practically my whole body. Stupid jerk, I'll bet he enjoyed it too. Ouch ...
"It's you. I thought I smelled you here." Elliot's low voice growls from behind. My breathing catches in my throat from sheer terror. Wait, wait he can smell me?
"Dang it! You can still smell my scent?! UGH, now what the hell am I supposed to do?!" I shout in complete aggravation, dropping to my knees as I childishly smack the ground. "I don't want one piece of my scent left for that stupid jerk!" I cry, my ears flicking back as I hear him step closer.
"For what purpose, spy?" Elliot snottily demands as he stops a few feet behind me.
"I just learned that Sidney has been playing me and I'm pissed." I hiss, letting everything bit of seething anger sink into the word as I grip my fists, pretending his stupid bunny ears are in my grasp. "So I want to piss him off as much as I can but stupid Gray clearly didn't do a good enough job!" I shout throwing my hands in the air in a dramatic show of frustration. Maybe if I hugged him longer it would have worked but nothing much I can do about that now.
"Feh. And why are you telling me all this?" Elliot huffs, clearly unimpressed with my pains at failing at one simple thing.
"Because, Elliot, I'm not a threat to you or the Hatters," I say before tacking on in the same breath, "I can give you everything I know about Heart Castle if you put your scent on me."
" ... Excuse me?" He asks, his attention clearly caught. And that's it, that's how I'm going to piss him off. Having Elliot's scent on me too will send him over the edge I'm sure.
"Yes, Elliot. I'm leaving Diamond Castle and just grabbing my stuff. If you put your scent on me and put it on me good enough to completely cover up my own scent, I-I'll tell you what I know about Diamond Castle," which isn't much but I'll die before I tell him that, "it's a win win."
"You want to f*** that badly?" He says, sounding a little confused as his ears twitch.
"What? Ew no," I say maybe a little too fast, seeing the annoyance spark in his violet eyes before ignoring it, "for some reason Sidney gets pissed off if I come back with someone else's scent on me. He's been tricking me lately and I'm hauling out of there now - you know what?" I say, seeing his baffled annoyance as uncaring for my situation, "Forget it, I'll just go as I am. I'm sure it's good enough." I growl in frustration, leaving his stupid indecisive butt in the alley. My ear flicks back as I hear him lunge at me, roughly grabbing my arm and ripping me back into the dark alley. "Ow, ow let go!" I shout, sucking in a quick gasp as he slams me up against the wall. Harsh ringing spirals around in my ears from the hard hit to the back of my head, dazing me as his teeth sunk into my neck, snapping me back to reality. "OW! Get off me!" I shout, kicking at him but his fingers only tighten around my arms.
"You think I can't put out, b****? I'll smother you so heavily in my scent you'll never be able to wash it out of your tiny d*** nose." He growls through clenched teeth before biting my neck again.
"Ouch, no biting!" I shout, still wobbly on my legs from the bruising pains Gray so graciously gave me.
"Shut the hell up," Elliot gruffly snaps, digging his fingers into my hair and yanking my head back. My legs tremble as a grunting purr begins to grow in my chest, mixing with fear. He's not going to actually try a-and get into me, right? I know Elliot and he would never do anything to hurt me ... but that's Heart Country Elliot, not this one in front of me. My fingers dig into his shirt before he slipped off his coat and let it drop to the ground, curling his hand around my throat to hold me steady.
"E-Elliot-!" I squeak in distress, the grunting purring turning more into frightened trembling whimpers. My hand shot up and caught his mouth, making his eyes widen slightly before narrowing. "I-I just need your s-smell on me, n-not anything else. O-Or else deal's off." I argue, grasping at straws to at least make him more gentle.
"Calm your t**s, woman," he growls, seeming to have calmed down a little at my words rather than be riled up, "I'm doing what you asked so be quiet." He orders, sealing his lips around my neck before sucking on the skin. I tremble and squirm as my purring deepens and becomes more pronounced, his smell alone making my eyes roll back into my head. What is it about Elliot and Sidney that makes them smell so good? His lips left trails of marks all up and down my neck, daringly moving up to my jaw line to place a few hickies.
"Y-You really need to add hickies to the list?" I ask in irritation, not so sure I'm liking my plan anymore. Oh yeah Sidney's going to get pissed but at how deeply in my expense?
"You like it." He confidently hums as his own purring begins to thrum deep in his chest, sticking his tongue out and, as though teasingly, licked my eyelid. Ew. "Now hold still." He orders, sliding his hand up the back of my shirt as his other hand pulls my pants down to my knees.
"WHOA-!" I shout, startled as I shove against his chest. "That's enough, don't touch me there!" I shout, fighting against his strength but he dipped down and picked me right up off the ground despite my struggling.
"Stop b****ing, you wanted this." He retorts, holding me up with one bruising grip on my left leg while he dragged his tongue over his free palm, slapping it behind and inside my thighs to spread his smell. I grit my teeth at his genius but embarrassing thoroughness. Well, now Sidney is definitely going to think something really bad happened. He lifted me up and pressed his face into my hip, taking a deep breath before abruptly dropping me onto the ground. Ouch-! I grip the wall as he tilts my head up, placing a very soft, sweet kiss on my lips. My entire body seizes up as he slides his tongue along the line of my mouth and sucks on my lower lip. My eyes remain wide in shock as he pulls back from the gentle, real kiss throughout this entirely embarrassing process.
"If you don't die let me know how the a** reacts." He whispers into my trembling ear, making me shudder with embarrassment.
"Yeah, I will." I answer, watching as he pulls back with a satisfied grin. Does that mean we're friends or something? Hopefully because I miss my best friend. I stand strong on my feet as he picks up his jacket and lights up a cigarette, taking a few deep, calming puffs as I try to get myself steady. I have to admit that wasn't nearly as bad as what Gray did to me. Ouch ... I'm seriously going to have problems sitting now.
An electric shiver shoots down my spine as he breathes smoke into my hair, lightly tussling it around before breathing into it again. I look up, seeing him pull back with a smirk.
"That little bunny of yours is going to s*** bricks. Oh, and a message from Blood. He wants you to visit the estate in exchange for my service just now." He evilly grins, obviously abusing his power a little. Oh gosh and there I go getting indebted to the Hatters. I open my mouth to object but instead let out a deep sigh. Oh joy to the freaking world.
"Right, got it." I say, catching on to the hint as I stumble down the side walk before straightening my pace. Good hell this better work because of all the trouble I went through to do this.
