START
"Alex?"
Who's calling me?
"Mom, big sis is waking up!"
Huh?
My eyes opened there I saw my little sister. My mom was rushing into the room. Looking around hastily, it was a hospital room. What am I doing here?
"Mom? Cherryl? What happened?" I asked, my head was spinning as if my body wasn't used to moving as much as I used to.
"Oh, thank goodness. I thought we were going to lose you." My mother said, looking at me with worried eyes.
"You just woke up from a coma. Mom was trying to call you for three days before we saw you in your unit out cold on the floor. What happened to you?" Cherryl asked.
"I don't really remember..." I answered, "How long was I out?"
"About a week..."
"Oh." I looked away.
"You don't seem happy you're awake. Did you try to kill yourself?"
"I did not! I was just wondering why I'd get into a coma when I'm healthy..."
"Healthy, you say? The doctor said you were dehydrated, and that when we saw you your heart was abnormally slow in beating. They had to put you in constant meds to keep your heart rate normal."
"Of course I'd be dehydrated if I had been passed out for like three days..." I stopped in my thought.
"Congratulations sis. For officially being the weirdest sister in the face of the Earth."
"You've thought of me as that ever since you went through puberty. Can I at least get some cake when I get discharged?"
'Hisoka... I don't really know why I'm alive... I'll come back soon, please wait for me.'
Chapter 9 : Revival x Nillushi x Emotionless Doll
I got discharged two days later, after convincing my mother that I was fine and I could stay by myself again, she agreed... provided that I text her every so often to tell her that I was fine. Simple enough right? Yeah right. I got home the next day and saw that my unit was cleaned up and tidy. My mom probably did some cleaning before I was discharged. I put my things on the table and looked around for the joystation.
It was just below the television set. I opened connected it to my tv and looked at the screen. Somehow the screen was being weird and it said that I was in game. How in the world can I be in game when I'm literally out of the game? I tried to power it up but it wouldn't let me through.
I sighed and opened the fridge, there in all its glory was a whole cheesecake. I smiled. It was a luxury to be able to live peacefully after all the things I had to go through...
Come to think of it, I ran for what seemed to be an endless tunnel, I witnessed people dying, I got pummelled until my bones cracked, I had to survive a hurricane, and I had to die. Big rollercoaster right there.
I grabbed a plate and just tried to enjoy my cake as if it was the first cake I ever ate. For some reason, I had the urge to watch the part where I died in the Hunter Exams on my laptop.
And to my surprise, every episode in the series from when I started until my death. I WAS IN THE ANIME.
The end of the Zebil Island Exam... Illumi had my body discretely sent to an address. Assuming it's someone he knew he can trust in these kinds of dealings. He told the Hunter Committee that it was important my body was to be recovered and sent immediately, saying that I was a daughter of a very wealthy man and that they would greatly appreciate it to be done as soon as possible. At first the committee was against it, but after hearing Illumi's lie which was very convincing despite the fact that he had to write his replies to the committee instead of talking to them, which was rather painstakingly slow. They bit into the lie.
The last exam went as originally as it was supposed to be, Gon, Kurapica, Leorio, Hisoka, and Illumi along with others passed. Killua had to go home to Kururu Mountain. And so ends the Hunter Exam Arc.
With that said, the exam continued and ended without me...
Illumi, after the exams and seeing to having Killua sent home, went missing for a day and a half with Hisoka, leaving Killua to Milluki's devices. It was planned as a short trip to see if my body was sent as planned.
The two had agreed to have my body preserved as original as possible. Hisoka wasn't too happy about it at first. Illumi insisted on doing so. He was keen on the fact that something may be going on with me that had me using all kinds of nen in one single entity. Though with me being dead it was really hard for him to figure out how I once ticked so he needed a specialist.
I re-watch the copies of Hunter x Hunter, on any media, on any stream. This was happening. And somehow... people were even noticing it in the forums thinking it was some gag reel or some plot twist to make it so weird on top of all the good kind of weird the original story already had. What they really didn't understand is even the originals they had were changed into my story. I burried my head into my pillow in embarrassment.
"They're watching me! Ugh!" I shouted. "They probably saw me bathing, or saw me and Hisoka-" I turned so red my face was like a tomato.
I watched on though, interested as to why I was still in game? Was it that I turned into two people? I cringed at the thought.
Milluki, upon his elder brother's return, stared at my soulless body, I was moving... but not quite how I used to be, wait a second, this girl inside the anime is me but she looks so creepy, like a doll...
It struck me. Omokage.
I looked on my laptop screen with a what-in-the-world-is-going-on-look, this was my body in the Hunter World. And I was alive.
"You have better not be taking my eyes for your hobby, Omomo!" I said at the laptop screen.
I took another forkful of my cake.
Watching thoroughly, the doll, it was rather pale... I don't think Omokage made a copy of me... That was my body there. If it has no soul... why is it moving?
The camera angle made it that anyone who'd watch it can see my lifeless eyes. I stared at it for a whole minute on pause when...
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
I looked at the source of the beeping, it was the joystation counting down.
It said: "11 seconds until reset."
Resetting? Does that mean I can get back to my body there?
10...
Illumi would probably be surprised.
9... 8...
Wait... Can I even get in without my hairclip?
7... 6...
I think so, I died so the only nen I have is my actual nen.
5... 4...
Hisoka's nen would have been flushed out of me.
3... 2...
Speaking of Hisoka...
1...
I'm alive...
Reset activated.
I miss you...
Nen Identification accepted.
"I'm back you jerk!"
Welcome back Alex.
There it was the white light that sucked me into the Hunter World.
The light disappeared as I was transported back into the world where Hisoka walks. I thought in the anime from where I paused it, it would look like the shiny sparkle in my eyes would appear. Milluki was right there across the room where I was, Killua was chained onto the wall. I tugged Illumi's clothes and looked at him.
Illumi on the other hand stared at me with his blank expression.
Milluki stopped for a moment as I was looking at him. Killua looked my way. I froze a little. Killua just smiled and nodded. I think he remembers me.
"Aniki, it's Nillushi, she seems alive now." Milluki stated.
Wait... "Nillushi?"
Milluki walked over towards me.
Killua shouted, "Hey, Milluki, that's aniki's doll, you're not supposed to play with her."
"Who are you calling Illumi's doll?!" I shouted at him.
"Be nice to your new sister, Kill." Illumi replied to Killua with a stern tone to his voice.
"You like her don't you?" Killua shot back at Milluki. "And why are you being so nice?"
Milluki couldn't hold his anger, he took his whip and hit Killua as hard as he could, "Shut up!"
I winced for Killua but he seemed unwavering by his older brother's attempt at hurting him.
Illumi looked at me.
"You're trying to get her best interests aren't you, Milluki?" Killua added.
Milluki eyed Killua, then hit him again.
I backed away slightly when I bumped into something, or someone...
I looked back at what I bumped into-
Kikyo was standing behind me. She smiled and laughed her insane sounding laugh.
"Oh, Nillushi. You're so pretty." Kikyo said, she scares the crap out of me, like really scares the crap out of me.
"You need to stay here..." Illumi whispered.
"But why-" He stopped me before I could say anything more.
"No, you will have to stay here, you are a Zoldyeck now. As for that man you seem so desperate about, he's busy with something."
Illumi grabbed my wrist and started walking away.
"Illumi, you're taking her? I was going to have the maids dress her up in pretty clothing." Milluki asked.
"Yes. I'll let oversee her clothing mother." Illumi replied. "But I need to talk to her first. Just send a maid to dress her up."
With that we walked out into a long corridor.
"Talk to me? About what?"
Illumi didn't say anything after I asked him. He just walked me away.
We reached the end if the corridor not long after we went out of the torture room where Milluki held Killua hostage. Illumi then opened a door and had me walk inside. It was an extravagant room. It was pretty. There was a queen size bed with silver patterned linen sheets. A wonderful carpet. A small chandelier. Almost all the embellishments inside were of silver.
"This will be your room. From now on your name is Nillushi..." Illumi told me with seriousness in his tone.
"Nillushi?" I said questioning.
"When mother saw you, she wanted to make you her daughter." Illumi said. "So she went ahead and took care of custody papers while you were dead."
"But how can that even happen when I'm dead that time."
"You were as lifelike as any other person. Even if you did not have a soul. Dont underestimate our family, Nillushi. You don't even seem to have any information about your existence until my mother went ahead and had you taken in. No papers, no pictures, no family, as if you just popped up in this world out of nothing. What are you exactly... you're really from another world as Hisoka says?"
"First, I prefer Ringo... Second, I am not a superhuman like most of the scary people in this world. AKA you, your family and all the other people who has abilities like you do." I told Illumi.
"As long as you are fine with being called Nillushi Zoldyeck within Zoldyeck Territory you'll be fine."
I hesitated but it was best to just go, after all I was no assassin, they could kill me then and there if I resisted their offer of being a family member.
Moments later the door opened and a woman with bandages on her face and a long puffy gown walked in. Illumi's mother... Not again.
"Oh, I didn't mean to barge in on my way for the maids to dress you up. I knew there was something special about her even when she was still lifeless." The woman said, "Illumi, take care of your new little sister. I'll have the butlers prepare her clothes."
The woman walked towards me as though she had been given an extravagant gift. She lifted my face to meet her eye's view. Turned my head, left to right.
"She's wonderful." She said.
I stayed silent. Why am I revived here as a Zoldyeck cant I just be me?
She then let go of my head and walked out of the room looking very pleased with herself.
"She scares me..." I told Illumi. "Where's Hisoka? Can't I just stay with him, it's okay right? I mean, you two are friends after all... and-"
Illumi suddenly pushed me into the bed and held both my wrists as tight as he could his long straight hair flowing down to the sides of my face as his was inches away from mine.
"You are a Zoldyeck now, whether you like it or not."
I froze, my hands were shaking. He scared me.
He then let go, seconds later right after someone knocked on the door and opened it slightly.
"Mistress asked for Miss Nillushi to be dressed." A female butler said.
"She's here. Take care of her." Illumi told the butler, the butler nodded in respect in return.
He then went out of the room and left me.
That night I was called into the table for dinner. To be announce that I am officially part of the Zoldyeck clan. I heaved a small breath. I was in a white dress. My long straight dark hair almost the same as Illumi, and Alluka's hair was. The resemblance made, Kikyo, Illumi's mother happy and proud. I looked at Alluka who was just beside me. He then looked back at me.
We stared at each other for quite a while. Alluka never said anything. I was cautious not to perk his interest in me. I didn't want him to ask me of any requests.
He then looked back at the table. I too looked back. Kalluto seemed unhappy about how me and Alluka stared at each other.
Dinner and introductions went by smoothly, Zeno looked rather puzzled but pleased to see that the Zoldyeck family had added a new addition to the family. Silva just sat at the end of the table not showing any interest in the event but seemed keen on what was going on.
The night ended with Illumi explaining to me about Alluka. I looked at Illumi and said.
"I already know... You can't say yes or no to him, hm?" I told Illumi. "I know what to do if something like that happens..."
Illumi looked surprised at my reply.
"Why can't I see Hisoka...?" I asked out of the blue.
"I can't let you go out of the estate just yet... Mother would reject it..." Illumi said.
"But I want to tell him how sorry I am..."
"It's not your fault you died. You're just too weak."
"Then it IS my fault." I shot.
Illumi just walked me to my room as he did that morning. I sat on the bed wondering where Hisoka was. I couldn't get him out of my head. Illumi sat at a chair near a couple of curtains.
"Why do you even miss him that much?" Illumi asked.
"I expected to be with him as soon as possible when I came back. Plus, your family scares me except for your brothers."
Illumi then stood up and walked towards the door.
"Get some rest." He said as he went out of the room.
I sighed and walked towards the curtains and opened them, the curtains concealed the balcony. I stepped out and looked up at the sky. There were so many stars, and the moon wasn't as full as I wished it was. I could see a rather large dog a few miles away.
It's Mike... I thought to myself.
Moments later I yawned. Went back into the room, changed into the night dress prepared for me, and lay in the bed looking out at the balcony's sky.
"I wish you're looking at the same night as I am... well that was friggin' cheesy. I'm prolly just tired of all that's happened today."
I fell asleep, I couldn't remember how long I was staring outside until I was out. Suddenly I woke to a breath on my shoulder.
I sat up and looked behind me, there lay a red haired man looking at me with a smile.
My eyes watered and just broke down.
"Hisoka! I thought I can't see you. Why are you here?" I asked.
"You're happy to see me?" He said. "Just because the new Zoldyeck member cannot go outside the Zoldyeck property, does not mean I cannot go to see her."
I stared at Hisoka. "I don't want to be one... their mother scares me."
"Yes, she is quite scary isn't she? Well, what's your new name?" He asked me to change the topic.
"Nillushi..." I said.
"Everyone wants to be your master, they give you names and you start tagging along with them." Hisoka said in a bland tone.
"I like Ringo more... Nillushi was given to me by a hag who keeps her sons in custody." I said nonchalantly. "I'd rather have the name given to me by a blood fuelled crazed jester."
Hisoka let out a smile.
"You forgot how good I am with wording." I told Hisoka.
"You're tired, you should rest. You're speaking nonsense." Hisoka told me.
"Will you still be here when I wake up?" I asked him earnestly.
"I will." He then as courtesy sat up on the other side of the bed and watched me sleep, guarding me.
That moment I fell asleep. It felt comfortable to be with him again. Remembering the first night we spent together. Which was now a very funny memory.
That morning I woke up to the sound of Hisoka's voice.
"Ringo-chan~ Wake up. It's time to go..."
I woke abruptly.
"Go?" I asked wearily looking at Hisoka.
"The boys are going away. Come with me." Hisoka told me.
I nodded. "Where?"
"Heaven's arena. Let's go back."
I smiled. "Alright..."
Hisoka then held my hand, I just noticed Illumi who was in the room. I smiled at him, he just looked away. I frowned a little. What's his problem?
"Go with your brother, we'll meet at the gate after the boys walk away." Hisoka told me as he stood near the balcony.
"Which brother? I have five brothers now." I said laughing.
"Illumi." Hisoka laughed back at me as he disappeared.
I looked at Illumi.
"What's your problem?" I asked. "Not even a good morning? You were so nice back then that I didn't remember you being an antagonist in this story."
"Ever since you came here, you always referred to us as characters from a story." Illumi said.
"Yeah, why?"
"Stop it."
"What if I don't want to?"
Illumi pinned me against the wall.
"I am not just a mere character!" Illumi shouted. His hands clenched on my wrists.
"It hurts, Illu."
"Everything was fine when you were still a doll."
"Stop it, you're hurting me."
"I had no one to share you with!"
No, I'm rubbing off on Illumi's personality too. No. I can't change how he is.
"Let me go, Illumi..." I told him weakly.
He didn't let go. He just loosened his grip and buried his lips onto my neck.
"I won't give you up so easily, you're family now. And I do what's best for my family." He trailed his lips from my neck to my cheek. "You are Nillushi now."
"Yes, brother..." I replied.
What's wrong with me? Why am I so willing? Why am I so under him?
"I'll always be there to keep you in check so do not stray away." Illumi's words were solid.
"Yes, I'll be a good girl." And mine were unintentional. There was definitely something wrong with me. I fought the urge. "Illumi... take this needle out."
Illumi let go of me and caressed the back of my neck where a needle of his sprung out.
"You're observant." He applauded.
"No... just because I'm a family member now... doesn't mean you can plant one on me... I am not connected to you by blood." I said.
"I can do whatever I want with you, after all you are my doll now. Lifeless or not." Illumi told me.
I smiled. "It's best you stop spending time with me Illumi. You will change, and the time will come that you'll have second thoughts when you kill someone. Just like Hisoka is..."
I walked over to the closet to get my change of clothes. Illumi turned around out of respect for my privacy so I could change. He didn't peek whatsoever, unlike Hisoka who would have done something improper if it was his chance. I got dressed quickly and grabbed a bag to hold some things in. Luckily, the clothes Illumi had picked for me were of the same tastes as I would have, I wondered how he managed to even know.
"I'm ok now, you can turn around." I told Illumi.
Illumi nodded at me and opened the door. "Stay close to me. I'll escort you out of the mansion. If mother sees you without me, she'll think you're running away."
We passed by Milluki on the way to the front court, he wasn't pleased since Killua was going out of the mansion again. I could faintly see the four friends walking towards the path into the forest that leads to the front gates.
I saw Killua smiling with the three. I smiled as well.
Looking back at Illumi and what he had done to me when he put that controlling needle in my head. To think that he would put a controlling needle inside me... He's just as obsessed at me as he is with Killua... Him and Hisoka are supposed to be friends... but if I get in between the two of them... This will be bad.
Wait... It's not like Illumi has the hots for me right? He's expressionless, he's a Zoldyeck. And he's too much of a killer to like, like someone... right?
Well. Never stopped Hisoka. I stumbled as I was walking down the halls following Illumi.
"Why can't you be more careful?" Illumi said helping me up.
"I'm sorry. I'm born as a natural klutz, I think..."
Illumi held my hand and walked with me. As if saying, 'You can't walk straight on your own so you need my hand to be able to balance.'.
I wanted to make a good topic for us to talk about as we walked, so we didn't have to endure the trip all the way to the gate with this awkward silence that accompanied it.
"I wanted to confirm, why Alluka and Kalluto dress as girls..." I asked as if I had nothing else to say.
"Mother wanted a girl... that's why Alluka and Kalluto dress that way..." Illumi answered.
"That's kind of weird. After getting five tries at having children she couldn't let out a girl, hm? Your clan is probably prone to having all boys, seeing as your mother is the only woman bearing the Zoldyeck name." I told him trying to strike up conversation.
Illumi just nodded to say he was listening. I sighed. He then called Mike, he was thinking of riding Mike so we could get to the front gates faster.
I was excited to see Hisoka again, to be able to spend time with him. To recieve his hugs and even hold his hand again.
Hold hands...
I looked at Illumi's hand as it clenched mine. Guiding me as I walked behind him. His hand was not as cold as it looked, if else it was really warm. The cold air that morning rushed onto my face. Mike arrived a little while later, Illumi patted the large dog's head when suddenly I called Illumi to get his attention from Mike.
"Illumi..."
Illumi stopped and looked at me.
"Why did you put a controlling needle in me, I don't believe you needed to at the time my body was soulless..."
"I didn't want to give your eyes up to Omokage, so I put that in you so it would keep your body alive..."
"Is it that... There's a deeper reason aside from Kikyo wanting to have a daughter, that she had picked me to adopt into your family...?"
Illumi stared at me for quite some time before he answered me.
"I told her that I wanted you to be my bride."
To be continued...
I'm so rusty... ;A; Illumi, Hisoka, y u two so OOC? I need to fix that, but you have to be OOC at this chapter cause the storyline needs it. Wouldn't have much effect if you were In Character.
