The wind blew lightly threw her hair. Blond strands flying back as she rode. Lupus galloped through the forest like a horse. Running around trees and jumping over bushes.
Lucy gripped onto his fur. It was soft and silky. Her body bent back and forth as the wolf ran. She looked ahead and watched as her surroundings started to change. The trees started thinning and she started to hear the sound of metal clashing and people yelling spells.
She felt Lupus start running faster. The world around her became a blur of colors mixing together creating a beautiful painting. She felt him slow down enough not to run into a wall. He turned a corner skidding across the concrete ground making a loud screech as his claws scratched the ground.
Lucy looked around as he started to slow to a stop. They were at the ocean side. Lucy saw a large monster type thing. It looked like a guild. She slid off Lupus.
"Thank you Lupus! I'll call you later for a run okay?"
The large wolf gave a wolf-y smile then disappeared. She watched as the girl she knew as Cana throw cards a shadow ghost. She then felt her left hand give a tug. Looking down at it she found a white string pulling her wrist. Mirajane.
She followed the string with her eyes up to the head of the monster. There two strings twisted, silver and white, together radiating the same one emotion. Anger.
She looked around trying to figure out how to get there. She saw something go flying over her then a smaller something catch the other thing. Natsu and Happy. She smiled at the thought of them.
She then turned and followed them with her eyes as Happy and Natsu landed next to her.
"Oi! Luce! Guess what? I won! Ha! Eat that metal face!" Natsu yelled at the monster. Happy shook his head at his partner.
Lucy smiled at them. "Ah. I'm glad. Do you know what's happened so far?" Happy flew up and landed on her shoulder.
"Aye! Phantom Lord is trying to shot us with something called 'Jupiter'. But to be able to that they must have four strong wizards. Three of them are gone. There's only one left," the feline explained. Lucy nodded then looked up at the thing. She need to get it lower to the round.
Looking down at the water it was standing she made a decision. Jumping into the water she pulled out a key. She shivered as the cold water connected with her skin.
'So cold.' She thought.
Holding the key in the water she said,"Open! Gate of the Water Bearer! Aquarius!" A mermaid appeared in front of her. She bent back and held an urn back over her head the straightened up. Turning back to look at the girl who summoned her she glared.
"Tsk."
Lucy smiled slightly as the mermaid. The blue haired woman was like and older sister to her. Mean, annoying and over protective. Yet still very mean. Like really mean. To her.
"I need you to help bring the thing down." Lucy stated as she pointed to the large monster or whatever it was. She didn't quite know. Aquarius rolled her eyes at the girl. She then lifted her urn and let out a scream of rage as she sent water hurling through the air at the things legs. The water hit it with a loud bang. The thing only moved a little.
Aquarius glared at the thing. How dare it still stand. She shot attack after attack at it. After firing water like a machine gun the thing finally fell. But only one leg was damaged. The mermaid 'tsked' before turning to Lucy.
"I'm leaving. I'm going on a date with my boyfriend. My boyfriend,"
Lucy rolled her eyes at her as the spirit left. The thing was lower now. She grabbed onto its broken leg and climbed up. After climbing for a while she looked down. Shouldn't have done that. Now she normally wasn't scared of heights. No. But when she looked down she had to close her eyes.
It was just so far down. She hadn't realised how far she had climbed. She held onto the side for dear life. She took deep breaths trying to calm her nerves. She was fine. She wasn't going to fall. Opening her eyes she started climbing again. She kept looking up.
Once she reached the top she pulled herself up on the ledge. She looked around and found a window leading into a hallway. Quickly she unhooked her whip from her belt and snapped it at the window. The window shattered into pieces on the ground. She had learned that trick from Virgo... The Maiden had said she could use it for punishing people... Lucy really didn't want to ask her what she meant...
Going through the window she made sure to stay away from the sharp pieces that were still there. Now standing in the hallway she looked around. She followed the string down the hallway and through different doors.
Before she could reach the next door something or someone went flying past her. She quickly hid behind a wall outside of the room.
Mirajane glared at the man in front of her. She hated him. He had hurt her friends and family. Feeling her magic swell up she aimed her hands at him. Balls of darkness shot towards him. It was shortly followed by a red-headed girl going at him with a sword.
"This is what you get for messing with Fairy Tail!" The red-head hissed. She moved her sword around like the master swords man or woman, she was.
Both girls shot towards him with their attacks ready. He simply dodged them by moving at impossible speed. Mirajane lunged at him again after being thrown back by him. Erza had followed shortly with a change of clothes.
Erza's chest was bandaged and she had long red pants on with yellow flames at the bottom. Both girls bushed him thru the wall and slammed him against another one.
He glared at them.
"You should know your place Fairies," he sneered. Erza all but growled at him. How dare he.
"You should know yours, scum. Only scum hurt innocent people." Mira snapped at him. Her hands formed a ball of dark magic getting ready to attack.
Lucy watched as Mirajane and Erza fought Jose. She suddenly felt a spike of magic coming from behind her. She spun around and found no one. She looked back at the fight and noticed that Mira and Erza were only focused on the fight.
The spike of magic kept coming closer. She turned around and unhooked one of her keys. She remembered what Happy had told her. There was only one member left.
She stiffened as the wind blew in her face then stopped suddenly. A man was standing in front of her. He was wearing a green robe with a green hat. A bandage covered his eyes.
He was crying when he appeared. "So sorrowful!" He wailed.
Lucy stiffened. Something was off. He appeared to be somewhat weak in magic at first glance but the power radiating off of him told her otherwise. Holding out a key she glared at him.
If Erza and Mira were fighting she could too. She would defeat him. "Open! Gate of the Heavenly Scales! Libra!"
A woman appeared. She glance at her opponent and nodded. Her hands were holding small scales. She lifted them up and then brought them down. The mage was shoved into the ground.
The gravity forcing him to stay down. He looked up slightly at the two girls and cried. "This world is filled with sorrow!" He then with great difficulty unwrapped his eyes.
His eyes were red with x's in the middle of them. Libra was surprise and she accidentally let go of her magic. He stood up then turned into air. He floated over to Lucy.
Holding his palms around her head he yelled, "Mestu!"
Magic runes appeared. One on each side of her and one above her. Lucy's eyes widened. She let out a scream as she felt like her magic was being drained. He body was floating in the air as yellow type light was glowing around her.
Libra who was still out acted in a panicked manner quickly slamming down the man. His body was digging into the floor. The magic around Lucy disappeared.
Lucy fell to the floor with her magic drained. Libra was forcing her gate open. Lucy had already used up to much magic. Now with most of the rest of it gone her magic was almost gone.
A loud boom echoed in all three opponents ears. Lucy turned and looked behind her and saw Mirajane and Erza standing behind her glaring at the man who they threw through the wall.
Mira looked down at Lucy and smiled sweetly. Well, as sweetly as she could looking like a demon. Libra looked over at the man who flew past her and flinched. He was ugly. She upped the gravity around him and slammed him into the ground.
Erza summoned a new sword and held it up. Lucy looked up at them and smiled. She pulled together what little magic she had left and summoned Loke after closing Libras gate.
The two Phantom that were on the ground stood up. Lucy stayed on the ground. She felt like her head was spinning. Loke stood over Lucy and glared at the man who tried to drain her of power.
Erza and Mira focused on Jose. Jose was breathing rather hard. His magic, although very powerful, was not very much. He had almost used up all of it.
No one on the battlefield other than Loke looked like they could fight much longer. Mira charged at Jose from the front and slammed him back into Erza who was waiting. Erza hit him with the handle of the sword on his back. He was sent forward into Mira who drew back her fist and punched him out.
Both girls turned around and face Loke and the element mage. Smoke was clearing around the two women making them look frightening. Their glared priced the hearts of both fighters.
Mirajane launched forward grabbing the man by his head and flying back with him. She dodged as Loke appeared behind her and punched the man in the stomach. He jumped out of the way as Erza slammed the man down into the ground.
The man fell to the ground passed out. Mirajane transformed back into her normal self and squeezed her eyes shut. She was weak. She had used up to much magic.
Erza changed into her regular clothes and kneeled next to Lucy. She had cuts and bruises everywhere on her body but she need to make sure everyone was okay.
Loke quickly went back to the spirit world not wanting to use up Lucy's remaining magic.
Erza let out a sight of relief as she felt Lucys' paluse. The girl was only knocked out. She then turned to Mira. Mira was bending over with her hands on her knees taking in huge gulps of air.
"Are you trying to steal all of the oxygen Strauss?"
With the defeat of Phantom Lord entered the Magic Council.
Now as you would figure the Magic Council was not happy about all of the damages around Magnolia. In fact they were furious.
A man with walked up to Erza, Mirajane and the past out Lucy. He stopped in front of them and cleared his throat.
"After getting reports from the towns people we were sent here to find out what was wrong. I have already had my people getting statements about what happened. I am here to get yours. My men will take the girl and take care of her in till she awakens."
He motioned with his hands for three of the soldiers to get Lucy. Erza lowered the blond into one of the mens arms. She and Mira followed the other two soldiers into a tent.
And the questions began...
Erza glared at the man questioning her. He shrank back in fear of the scarlet haired woman. She was a truly terrifying sight. All around her became black being stained by her dark aura.
She stood up and slammed her hands on the desk she was sitting at. The man yelped out in fear of his life. He had dealt with many, many dangerous criminals but never in his lifetime has he dealt with someone like, like this MONSTER!
"I will see my comrade and you will take me to where she is being treated. Do. You. Understand?" Her voice left no room to argue. He nodded. Standing up shakily he wobbled over to the door of the tent and opened it.
He looked out and saw the other soldier that was taking Mirajane Strauss statement was coming out as well look like he had just been drained of all blood in his body.
They both met each other. They shared a glance. Each one telling his life's tale through his eyes in case they died that night. They wanted their name to live on. Sadly if they were to die that meant both of them would.
Erza looked over at Mira and saw she was smirking as she looked at the shaking soldier. The red head glared at her.
Mira gave Erza a look that said she could scare anyone better then she could. Erza's glared hardened. It was on.
Erza walked up to the man who was taking her statement. She stood as tall as she could then narrowed her eyes at him. Her background becoming nothing but black as she started threatening the man.
Mirajane walked up to the other and smiled sweetly. Her eyes narrowed. Still smiling she looked down at him. "Do you want to play?" She had transformed into her Satin Soul and was holding a small leather whip as she looked down at him.
Both men had no clue what to do. But they did know one thing. They were retiring if they lived through this.
The night sky was shining with life as the stars looked to be dancing. The moon was high above shining like it was rivaling the sun.
A small noise invaded a sleeping girls ears. She could feel her hair being pushed away from her face. She relaxed as a damp cloth was put upon her forehead.
"When do you think she'll awaken? I need her statement."
Who was talking?
"In a few hours. But that's just a guess. It could be longer."
What was going on?
"I see. Damn Fairies causing trouble."
Her eyes flew open. No one could talk about her new family like that. She set up ignoring the pain that was shooting through her body.
A woman with plain brown hair and bright green eyes stared at her in shock. While a man was glaring at her slightly. His black hair falling in his face blocking his left eye. His red eyes watched her every movement.
Lucy glared at him. "It's not Fairy Tail's fault. Phantom Lord started the fight. We just defended ourselves." Her voice was dripping with ice.
He nodded taking out a notepad and writing something down. "Fine." He mumbled. The nurse heard her name called and ran out of the small tent.
Lucy and the man had a stair off until the woman poked her head in. The nurse over at him.
"Uncle Night? The Captain is calling for all soldiers to return to the base. We have a mass murder in a village named Feuer Phoenix." The man nodded.
"Understood." He ran out shouting orders for the soldiers to pack up and do a 19-20. Whatever that was. But from the look of things Lucy guessed it meant follow follow him.
Lucy although watching everything, was spacing out. She couldn't help but think of Zeref and her father. An image of Zeref standing over a dead man while blood leaked down his hands as he laughed.
The feeling of being shaked made her snap out of her day nightmare. Her eyes were met with very worried blue ones.
Mirajane held Lucy by the shoulders. She had found the girl staring off into space looking as if she had just watched someone she loved die.
"Lucy are you okay?"
Lucy turned around and looked at Erza. Nodding she mumbled,
"Yeah. I'm... I'm fine."
Tears blurred little Lucy Heartfilia's face. They just wouldn't stop. She collapsed on the stone ground in a bundle of limbs and tears.
Her small heart felt like it was being crushed. Everything around her was falling apart. Looking up slightly she stared at the angel gravestone.
The angel was holding a small baby while cradling it with her wings. The angel was smiling. Lucy let out a cry of grief as she looked back down. She began thinking about all of the memories she had with her mother.
Unknowingly her body began to glow. The light was small but still enough to see.
Lucy cried and cried as she stayed at her mother's grave. Nothing was the same after her death. Her father locked her in her room and only allowed her to come out if she was to meet some stranger who always looked at her weirdly.
It had only been a few months and already everything had gone down hill. And in that little time Lucy was faced with everything her mother had saved her from.
All the small girl wanted was to run away. And just like that her head snapped up. Her eyes once again locked onto the gravestone but this time her small eyes held fire.
This was one of the rare time she was allowed to visit her mothers grave. The next time would be when she eight. She looked over at a maid that was always with her.
"Miss Spetto? Will you please bring me my mothers keys?" The woman nodded and walked off but not before informing another maid to watch their master.
Lucy set by her mother's grave. Her little mind going on overdrive as she tried to think of a plan. When her maid came back she came up with nothing.
"Here you go Miss Lucy." Lucy thanked her as she took them. She held them to her chest. They would never leave her. Never. They were the last thing she had of her mothers.
Standing up she turned to the maids. "May I have one moment alone? Just one. Please."
The maids looked ready to argue until they saw her heartbroken face. The young girl looked like she would shatter into a million pieces. Spetto nodded. She and the others left Lucy alone.
"I'm sorry mother. I just can't stay here. I don't know where I'll go or what I'll do but don't worry. I'll be fine. I love you, momma."
And with that she took off running. She ran away from her mothers grave. A minute later she heard the panic cries of the maids as they called for her. She didn't turn back. Unhooking a key she commanded it to open.
You have to know the past to know the future.
And with that her story can really start.
