Aya clenched her teeth as she barely dodged the flames of Renkotsu's attack. They were fighting against the band yet again. "Stop that!" She cried in frustration as he sent another fire attack at her, forcing her to dodge again. "I can't get close to him." She saw Mukotsu heading after Kagome again. "Oh no you don't." She quickly faked an attack causing Renkotsu to dodge and then grabbed Kagome, "Gotcha!"
Kagome shot an arrow towards Mukotsu as she was sat farther away from the battle. "Thanks, Aya. I didn't even see the creep."
Aya gave a small smile then turned to see Inuyasha being forced into a two way fight against Bankotsu and Jakotsu. "Stay here, I'm going to help Inuyasha." Koga had picked up her slack with Renkotsu while fighting Ginkotsu. Sango and Miroku holding back the rest. She rushed over when she saw Inuyasha about to be defeated by Bankotsu. "Inuyasha!" She yelled as she attacked Bankotsu knocking him back. Jakotsu came in to attack her, while Inuyasha went for a defenseless Bankotsu. The next thing she knew something was coming for them. All four leaped away from each other as a tall tree crashed into the ground between them. Aya looked at where it had fallen from and caught a glimpse of white hair.
Inuyasha also caught the glimpse of hair, however, he caught something else. He caught Chay's scent. "Aya, get the others, we are retreating."
Bankotsu had a different idea and went to lunge forward only to be knocked away by Aya. "Who do you think you are?"
"The name is Aya, and I'm the one who's going to kick your dead ass."
Inuyasha struggled not to laugh, Aya had picked up more than fighting from them. He narrowed his eyes at Jakotsu who snaked his whip like sword. He grabbed Aya and pulled her back. "You missed." He pulled out his sword when suddenly two arrows came hurtling in hitting Aya and Jakotsu. Inuyasha cursed and caught the girl while Bankotsu went to his fallen brother. The two gave a mutual nod and retreated, both parties falling back.
Koga growled as they ran away, "Cowards!" He spit then went to head back to camp when he saw everyone in a tight huddle. "What now." He groaned, the past few days had been less than fun. Kagome was ignoring him and Inuyasha was always gloating, even though Kagome had seemed to stop being with him every two seconds. Now she was always with Aya. He pushed Miroku to the side to see Aya on the ground with an arrow embedded in her leg. "What happened?"
Kagome was getting her medicine out and Sango was ready to remove the arrow. Miroku and Inuyasha were trying to hold her down. "Koga help Miroku pin her leg down, we need to pull this out."
Koga nodded and pushed down on her leg keeping it still. He could see her worry and pushed back the wave of guilt for how he had been treating her. He watched as Sango pulled the arrow out and Kagome began to treat it as tears went down her face. "Hey now, this isn't as bad as the spider demon."
Inuyasha punched him, "Shut up."
Koga looked at him in surprise and saw the pitying look he gave her. Miroku came up from behind him and whispered into his ear, "Her sister was the one who shot her and from what you know, Chay would never hurt her for any reason."
Koga looked at him then, "She's alive?"
Miroku nodded stiffly, "But from what we saw today, she might be like Kohaku and being controlled by Naraku. He is going to use her as a pawn to fight us. He knows we won't be able to kill her."
Koga stood up and punched a tree. Naraku's sins ran deep, pinning siblings against each other, using family as a weakness. He would kill him, for his tribe and for the small cat demon, who was crying now. However, he needed help and he had to stop her tears. He walked back into the camp and saw Miroku comforting Sango and Inuyasha comforting both Kagome and Shippo. "Where's Aya?"
Kagome pointed towards a hot spring, "She's cleaning her leg, she wanted to be alone."
Koga rolled his eyes and headed towards the girl only to be stopped by Inuyasha, "What mutt face?"
Inuyasha glared at him, "She wants to be alone."
Koga walked past, "Or maybe she didn't want to be reminded of how alone she is. You guys aren't very helpful cuddling around the fire." He heard everyone stiffen up and couldn't help but smirk. He knew they did it to remind him Kagome was taken, however, they hadn't thought about the abandoned cat demon. He walked on and saw the girl bent over her knees silently crying. "Well you were right."
Aya jumped and wiped her face before she looked at him, "What are you talking about?" She asked hoarsely.
Koga hid a smirk when he saw her come out of her depression, "Well your sister is still alive. I thought she would've been killed off awhile ago now."
Aya glared at him and turned away, "Well she's not dead, Naraku is just using her as a puppet."
Koga shrugged and then sat down against her back, "Ya but that means we just have to save her. Easier than saving a dead person."
Aya felt a smile come to her face and she turned around and gave Koga a hug, "Thank you. I'm sorry I've been bratty lately, Chay used to scold me when I got to bad." She sat down next to him and wrapped her arms around her legs, "I can't believe she was the one who attacked me. Inuyasha said he caught her scent, but it's Chay!"
Koga put an arm around her awkwardly, "All that matters is that she is alive. We can get her back and then you won't feel so awkward with the love birds."
Aya giggled and nodded, "Speaking of which, we should head back." She stood up and then kissed his cheek, "Thanks Koga, and it's not so bad with you around."
Koga touched his cheek where she had kissed and then watched as she walked away. He couldn't help but notice the gentle sway of her hips in her tight black pants. Her thin cat like tail swaying back and forth with every step. He couldn't think of the last time he had been so memorized by a demon. He stood up and walked back into camp and then glared at Inuyasha who was now hanging around Aya and Kagome. He laid down turning away listening to Kagome talk about nonsense. The two girls would laugh and he felt his heart squeeze. He would have her it was all a matter of time.
