Disclaimer: I don't own Labyrinth. *Jazz hands*

"Didn't I meet you in the beginning?" Mary asked.

Hoggle sighed, "Most people do."

Mary looked around and saw that there didn't seem to be anyway out of the pit.

"There ain't no doors," Hoggle pointed out.

Mary frowned, "Yeah, I can see that."

"Well, I knew you were going to get into trouble from the moment I met you so I came to help you back to the entrance of the labyrinth," Hoggle told her.

"I can't go back now, I'll never get to the center in time if I start over now!" Mary protested.

Hoggle rolled his eyes, "Let me put it this way, what choice do you have?"

Mary frowned and looked around the room again while Hoggle set up and opened the door. As they walked out she saw that they were in some sort of underground tunnel with smaller tunnels branching off sporadically through the passage.

"So, um," Mary started while pausing to duck underneath a slimy metal pipe protruding from the ceiling, "how do you know your way around so well?"

"Well I-," Hoggle froze as he saw the Goblin King appear a few feet in front of them along with what he assumed was the wished away child.

"Sarah!" Mary called out realizing who was standing next to Jareth.

Hoggle looked closer and jumped in surprise, "Sarah?"

"Hi guys," Sarah said uncomfortably while giving them a small wave.

"Now isn't this a cute little reunion," Jareth said while crossing his arms while advancing upon Mary and Hoggle.

Hoggle backed up slightly to stand behind Mary who despite her fear stood her ground.

"So, how are you enjoying my Labyrinth?" he asked her with a smirk obviously meant to bait her.

Mary frowned and replied with dull sarcasm, "I wouldn't call it 'enjoying' but I'm doing ok, I think."

Sarah smiled despite the other factors, glad that at least her friend hadn't made the same mistake that she had when Jareth had asked her the same question.

"In that case I guess that you won't be needing his help now will you?" Jareth asked while gesturing to Hoggle calmly as if he wasn't possibly danming Mary to failure.

Sarah gasped, "You can't do that!"

Mary was suddenly more worried now that she saw that Sarah seemed scared for her.

Jareth didn't turn to look back at Sarah. Instead he turned his attention towards Hoggle who flinched and moved out from behind Mary slowly.

"Thank you Higgle but your services won't be needed," the Goblin King told him in a condescending tone.

"Its Hoggle!" Sarah corrected.

"I'm sorry Sarah," Hoggle said as he backed away from the group.

Sarah frowned but she understood that he couldn't directly go against the Goblin King, "Its ok Hoggle."

Jareth stepped back towards Sarah, "I'd say goodbye to your friend now dearest."

Sarah scowled at Jareth momentarily before turning to Mary.

"I believe in you Mary and no matter what happens, it wasn't your fault."

"How very touching," Jareth lightly mocked, "We should be going now love, we wouldn't want to hold her up here too long now would we?"

Before either Mary or Sarah could respond they vanished, leaving Mary alone again.

A/N: Hey would you look at that I broke from the format. That's strange isn't it? I wonder what could possible come next! No wait. I am the author and I know what's coming next. I am laughing maniacally as we speak. Also I just posted another Jareth X Sarah story today, a oneshot this time called "As you wish Precious" so if you like this you may want to check that out.
