-Author's Notes—

Well hello, and how do you do? I have officially shifted into MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE. This chapter is about Six and the gang's arrival in the Capitol Wasteland. Enjoy babies. P.S: I am in school writing and posting this.

-Capitol Wasteland/ Citadel/ Courtyard—

Sarah stood tall next to her father, dressed rather nicely in her T-45d model power armor. Her helmet was tucked underneath her arm as she stood watching the Vertibird come to a soft landing in the center courtyard of the Citadel. The hatch swung open and several figures poured out. And the tallest, the leader Mr. 6 she presumed, was dressed head to toe in the special desert ranger armor she heard so much about. The green of his visor gazed over the crowd of gathering brotherhood. Veronica squealed and sprinted tackling her friends into a hug.

"I missed you guys sooooo much! I can't wait to catch up! OH, Six, meet Sarah, she is the second in command of the Brotherhood."

Sarah stepped forward when addressed and stuck her hand out. Six approached and grabbed her hand, only to stop. He paused, not shaking her hand, only holding it. "Sir, are you-"

He immediately dropped to the ground, out cold. There was an audible gasp that swept over the crowd as they approached him. Joshua and Ulysses picked him up and carried him down to the infirmary. Followed by several Brotherhood members in tow.

They got there quickly and placed him on the cot. Sarah came into the room worried something had happened to him. Cass was seething in fury, and the others were worried to no end. Especially Veronica who was tearing up.

"Pull his helmet off, we need to check his pulse." Cass hit the release latch on his helmet and tugged it off. All of the east coast Brotherhood gasped at the sight of him. There was a tense silence before a sob was heard. Everyone turned to see Sarah leap forward wrapping her arms around his unconscious form. She squeezed tightly.

The moment of peace was short lived when Cass grabbed the shoulder plates on Sarah's armor and pulled her off of him. "What the fuck do you think you are doing?" Sarah pushed Cass. "HE IS THE LONE WANDERER!" Sarah had screamed. There was silence again. All of the westerners had heard the tales of the wanderer when coming here, and their theory spread far and wide. As far as he died, and as crazy as abducted by aliens, but what were the odds. The ironic part was Six was the one to purpose the Alien one.

The silence was broken by Sawbones the robot. "He is A-Okay, his mind went under some sort of memory lapse my sensors can't pick up. The only waves I can detect right now are delta, indicating deep sleep. I suggest when he wakes up, to detain him, he may become violent." With that, Sawbones floated off to do…robot things. The tense air filled up again. And was broken again, but this time, by Cass. "Is this true, this is the Wanderer?" Sarah and a few Brotherhood members nodded. She sighed. This would defiantly lead to conflict. She only hoped it would be easier when he woke up.

-A few hours later/ Courtyard—

Sarah smoked a cigarette out in the courtyard quietly to herself. She picked up smoking soon after the Wanderer disappeared for good. Cass opened the door and walked next to her, holding out a full bottle of whiskey, an already half empty one in her hand.

"Hey, listen, about earlier…" Sarah nodded, not needing an apology. She frowned grimly, this was going to be a long journey.

The two girls stumbled and fell over, the explosion rocking their very souls. They stood quickly and ran for the watchtower. A brotherhood woman, crouched behind the barrier greeted them.

"Sentinel, I could use some help over here!" She tossed her a hunting rifle and Cass an assault rifle. "We are being attacked by some guys in red armor, they approached us and tried talking, and they killed Bael and took cover. They have us surrounded and vastly out numbered. I'll go ring the alarm." She stood to run, only for a bullet to pass clean through her helmet and throw her off the ledge. They quickly took cover and began firing. Cass crawled over and hit the alarm.

"God, I wish Six was here!" Sarah yelled.

-Infirmary—

Six began to toss and turn in his sleep, he shuffled, and his eye opened wide as the alarm hit his ears. He grabbed his helmet and leaped up.

-Courtyard—

"RETREAT!" The back doors to the courtyard opened and brotherhood got ready to file, only to stop at the sight. David, in his ranger armor, walking up the steps with his modified sequoia at his side. He sprinted passed them and out the gate. He charged the Legion leaping off preforming a summersault and landing behind them.

He fired a round into one of their heads, while blocking a swing from a super sledge. He rolled to the left and pushed a legionary into the soldier's second swing of the sledge, resulting in his bones shattering. He grabbed the blade of a machete and looked at him. He froze and whispered something that made ever legionary in the area freeze.

"Courier…"

He smiled under his helmet and pulled him towards him for his fist to meet his face at maximum speed. A satisfying crack was the result. He tackled the next one. He used the poor legionary as a meat shield from a thrown plasma grenade, he turned to goop, David rolled over picking up his revolver and leaped up. He forced the barrel into the next soldier's mouth, the ripper he was readying to swing dropped into David's other hand. He threw it like a tomahawk into the next soldier's head, embedding itself deep. He flipped over the soldier and fired three perfect shots killing more soldiers with exact headshots.

The display was absolutely amazing, people heard about how he fought, but never got to truly witness it. It was amazing; the soldiers began to cheer, grabbing their weapons and reentering the field with renewed vigor. They slaughtered legionaries left and right. Ulysses, Cass, Kathleen, Josh, Boone, Vaga, Lyons Pride, and Vaga, put on the most beautiful display of death the soldiers had ever seen. Both east and western chapters were in awe of this. The fight was quickly looking up. Six emotionless as ever slaughtered what started as defense, turned into for revenge. His attacks left grace, soon becoming extremely violent and brutal.

He blocked a swing from a combat knife and used a quick swipe of his hatchet to cut the arm off of his attacker. He slammed the hatchet into his spine and pulled it out, leaving the screaming mess. He soon pulled out his katana and went by faster, leaving soldiers alive so they could suffer. Soon the bloodbath worsened. The legion retreated and David followed.

He followed all the way to the Arlington Library before ceasing his massive assault on the legion. Over half of their numbers had diminished. Luckily for the legion, that wasn't one/one millionth of their army available. He slowly walked back to the Citadel.

-Inside the Solar—

"What happened? Where is Mr. Six?" Elder Lyons spoke quickly. "Six is David, dad." The Elder gasped quietly. Not expecting this outcome. He sat stumped for a minuet before Boone spoke. "Did you see how he killed those legions. It was so brutal, no remorse. He left many alive to bleed out." "Whoa, slow down, who is the legion?" Colvin spoke. "The legion is a group of womanizing, slavers, who mimic ancient Romans and the leader is a man known as the Caesar. They control all of the Midwest. We have been fighting them out west for years." Cass spoke up.

The silence that followed was uncomfortable before the door swung open and David stood there, helmet under his arm, gun at his side, drenched in blood. "Why the fuck is the legion here?" He stomped forward, slamming his helmet on the table. "WHY ARE THEY HERE OF ALL PLACES?!" He paced back and forward, everyone watching silently.

"I finally come home, I found my home and they are here?! GOD DAMNIT!" He yelled loudly. Sarah stepped forward, "David, do you know I am?" Six stared at her, intently, not sure as to why she had called him David? He looked behind him on either side then pointed at himself. "Me? I don't know my name, and no I don't know." She sighed in sadness and looked at him again. "What do you know?" "I know I was born in Vault 101, and my life has something to do with something called Project Purity, and someone named Three Dog. It's coming to me in bits here and there. I look at something and new information co-". He paused eyes locking on Gallows. "Iviring…Iviring Gallows, special ops soldier for Lyons Pride. Lyons Pride, Special Forces team for east coast Brotherhood of Steel. Elder known as Owings Lyons, daughter…. Sarah, Sarah Lyons." He started wagging his finger laughing maniacally he paced faster. "Yeah…YES, it's coming back. There are gaps, in my memory, but I getting it. I'm… David, David Maven." He pointed at Sarah. "I know you, I don't know how. But I do." She smiled and hugged him tightly; he was surprised at first, but sank into the hug, hugging back. He felt something he hadn't felt in a long while. He felt at peace.

-Adam's Air force Base/ 20 min ago—

"WHAT!?" The explorer cowered under the Legate's gaze. He shivered in fear at the golden monolith.

"He fought against our forces, the moment I saw him, I knew fighting was pointless. I came here to tell you." As the last words left his mouth, the door opened and Marcus, a legionary veteran stuck his head in the door. "The forces had to retreat, we suffered heavy losses, over half gone. Many wounded and more dead. I'll leave you to it." Marcus left and the Legate calmed down quickly upon hearing this. This meant one of two things for this explorer. He was either a coward, or a genius. Time to find out.

"How did you know he would win?" "Simple, he slaughtered an entire squadron in 4 seconds. Then the brotherhood started using air support. We didn't have cover. I took out 17 Brotherhood before they found my position and I took out six more before we escaped, and the rest is history." The Legate nodded. He found a smart man, a golden apple in a rotten bunch, a silver bullet among knives, a nuke among grenades. He would do nicely.

-Citadel/A ring/ 9:00 p.m.—

Sarah smiled at David before taking a bite of her food. He smiled back and ate as well. They did this in silence for a little while before Sarah spoke.

"Hey, you are going to want to get some sleep tonight. Tomorrow, I take you to the settlements here in the wasteland. Including where you stayed and to where you were born." He looked surprised. "I don't remember what happened at the Vault, 101 that is. What happened?" "How much do you remember?" "I remember leaving, blankity blank blank, going back, blank afterward." She sighed; it would be difficult helping him remember. She hoped he did soon though, before he left with that red haired bitch. David was her man, whether he remembers or not. She stood silently and walked to the Lyon's den.

"Hey Sarah?" She turned and looked at him. "What were we, before I left?" Her breath hitched. She did one thing. She pulled off her ring and tossed it to him. He looked at it, and pulled it to match his ring. His breath hitched. She walked passed him, grabbing the ring and putting it back on. She smiled sadly at him and walked away.
