The Bunny And The Dragon
Chapter 8
Lucy's First Christmas
I wake up this morning, see all the decorations scattered all over my house. I see the big tree with a bunch of super cute ornaments and a bunch of presents laying there waiting at the bottom of the tree. I see a bunch of snowflakes hanging up all around the room. My Christmas stockings are hanging all over the walls. I smile at the sight and the realization it brings me. Today is Christmas.
It is not just any Christmas either, this is my first Christmas with the guild. This is my first Christmas not being alone since my mom passed away. I have been so excited for this day for months. I made Natsu go on a bunch of extra missions with me so that I could get everyone a present.
I jump out of bed in an excited flurry. I quickly hurry to the bathroom to take a shower. After I am done with that, I get changed into the Cutest Christmas outfit. I put on a cute red Santa hat, a red corset like top that stops just above my belly button, a short red skirt with white fluffy frills at the end, long red socks with Christmas decorations on them, and red high heels. I also put on some white eye shadow to make it look like I have snow on my eyes; it's such a cool effect. My favorite kind of outfit; sexy yet cute.
Because there are so many presents, I put all of them into a big bag. I am very careful with them as I do it though because some of the gifts are fragile, and I don't want to ruin the beautiful wrapping paper that I spent most of yesterday putting on the presents.
I look at the big bag in dismay. There is no way that I can get that bag all the way to the guild without ruining the contents. That leaves me to summoning one of my spirits. I briefly consider summoning Taurus because of his strength, but I quickly dismiss that thought. He would only make perverted comments and might do something stupid and ruin the presents: there was no way I was taking that chance. I want this Christmas to be perfect.
I decide to summon Loke, he is strong and not foolish enough to do something stupid. Plus, I know he would want to spend Christmas with the guild. I summon Loke and he appears with his usual gentlemanly – cough womanizing cough –flurry.
"What can I do for you, princess?" Loke said, kneeling and kissing my hand before I could stop him. I sigh, he never changes.
"Will you please carry that bag to the guild," I ask him politely, taking my hand from his. As an afterthought I say, "Oh, and you are free to stay out and enjoy Christmas with the guild."
He smiles and agrees, taking the bag and following me out the door and to the guild. Before I leave though, I grab my long green jacket so I don't freeze outside.
I am mostly quiet as I walk with Loke to the guild. I am a bit nervous about how everyone is going to like their gifts. I am also hoping that everyone will be into Christmas as I am or this will be embarrassing. I mean they should, they use any, and I mean any, excuse to throw a party. That's my rambunctious guild.
When the guild comes onto view, I shake off y worries and throw open the doors yelling, "Merry Christmas, minna."
Everyone who is here at the guild then proceeds to yell back in response, "Merry Christmas, Lucy."
I look around and see that overnight; some of the people stayed behind and decorated the guild. There are stockings, snowflakes, poinsettias, mistletoe, ribbons, and wreaths all over the place. IN the very center of the guild, there is a huge Christmas tree, beautifully decorated with a plethora of ornaments. Almost everyone is dressed in Christmas colors, reds, greens, and whites.
I direct Loke to the tree and tell him to leave the bag under it. He gives me a smile and asks, "Do you require anything else of me."
I shake my head and say, "Go have fun."
I go to the bar, putting my jacket on the seat next to mine, and call Mira over.
"Hey Mira, merry Christmas," I say merrily, smiling at her.
She smiles her famous kind smile back and replies just as joyously, "Merry Christmas, Lucy. Can I get you anything?"
"Can you please get me a hot chocolate," I ask politely.
"Sure thing, just wait here a second," she says, and then rushes away to get my drink.
Less than a minute later she comes bustling back with my drink in tote. She reaches me, places the drink in front of me, and says, "Here you go, Lucy."
"Thank you, Mira," I say to her taking the warm drink in my hand. I take a sip and sigh in pure bliss.
She giggles at my obvious enjoyment and then hops over to someone else. I sit there enjoying my drink when, out of nowhere, Natsu is suddenly sitting right next to me, greeting me with that big grin of his.
"Merry Christmas, Lucy," he says brightly.
"Merry Christmas, Natsu," I say, just as brightly.
We talk and the time flies by really fast. Before I know it, it is dinner time and everyone is sitting down at a humongous table, waiting for dinner. Dinner is a joyous occasion. Everyone is talking loudly about everything and nothing. The food is flying off the table just as it arrives; everyone eats as though they haven't eaten for days. I am sitting next to Natsu for dinner, and I internally shudder. I didn't know it was possible to eat that much food. I mean, I always knew he could eat, but the amount of food he just consumed was just, too much to sanely think of. The food was delicious. Dessert is soon served, along with what Fairy Tale is so renowned for, it's drinks. I politely decline any drinks offered to me, I want ti remember all of this in the morning. Besides, I am having a delightful time sober.
After dessert was finished, with Erza eating the most desserts, and Natsu, god bless his stomach, ate almost as much, despite the huge amount he ate at dinner, everyone gathered around the Christmas tree, preparing to give presents.
Everyone hands out their presents, and I decide I will wait until everyone is done, then hand out my presents. I get books from most people, including an ultra-rare book from Levy. I also got cloths from most of the girls, thankfully all according to my fashion sense.
Soon, the guild is full of ripped wrapping paper, presents, and smiling faces. It seems that everyone I happy with their gifts. Everyone was about to go and stand up but I say loudly so everyone can hear me, "Wait minna, I still haven't given out my gifts."
Everyone turns and stares at me. Seeing the presents at my feet, they all eagerly sit down and wait for their present. Smiling at their compliance, I start to give out the presents. I give Levy the first copy of my new book. I give Gajeel a bunch of iron. I give Mira a necklace with a sapphire pendent, to go with her eyes. I give Juvia a bunch of secret photos I managed to take of Gray. I give Erza a couple of revealing bathing suits and lingerie, knowing she is a closet girly-girl. I give Gray a gadget that will start beeping when he starts stripping, maybe that will help his stripping habit. I give everyone else their presents.
I smile, because I can see that everyone loves what I got them. I am glad. I put so much thought into what I got them, wanting this Christmas to be perfect. I get a bunch of thanks, and then everyone gets up, this time without interruption, and goes about doing their thing.
I look around for Natsu, having not seen him while giving out the presents. I scan the guild with my eyes, looking for him. My eyes stop and rest upon his figure, he is by a wall that has a bunch of greenery.
I go to him and stand before him. I frown, he is looking into space, he seems to be in deep thought, and that thought is scary. Natsu, in deep thought, never! I tap his shoulder and he jumps, he turns around and smiles when he sees that it is just me.
"Hey, Natsu, what are you doing over here," I ask him curiously.
"Nothing," he says vaguely. I give him a curious look, but I then dismiss the thought.
"Merry Christmas, Natsu," I say smiling, holding out my present to him.
He smiles in delight and opens the bog. Inside he sees, on a plain black leather string, a dark red amulet.
I see that he loves it already, but has no idea the significance behind it. I giggle then I tell him, "It is a magical amulet. You breathe your fire power into it, and it will remain there, for only you to touch, until you need it. If you ever run out of magical power in a battle, you can just turn to the amulet."
The smile he gives me . . . is worth every jewel I spent on his present. He gives me his famous big grin, and I blush in response. He puts the necklace on, and then he breathes some of his fire into it. The necklace turns from dark red, to red that looks like it has fire within it. Seeing this, he smiles even brighter, and gives me a bone crushing huge. I blush even deeper, and I am glad that he cannot see my face.
He pulls away suddenly, taking his warmth with him. "Oh, before I forget, I have something for you too," he says, pulling a present out of nowhere.
I look down at the box that is now in my hand and I open it slowly. I gasp, inside the box is a beautiful chain necklace, and attached to it is a beautiful key, and on the top of the key is a dragon curled around it, as if protecting his treasure. It is absolutely beautiful.
I feel tears coming to my eyes and a rush to give him a hug. "Thank you so much, it is beautiful," I tell him.
After giving him a tight squeeze, I separate myself from him and put the necklace on. It's a perfect fit. I can't help but stare at it admiringly. I don't stop staring at it until a voice pulls me out of my reverie.
"Natsu, Lucy, look up," says a voice that I identify to be Mira's.
Following her instructions, I look up and I gasp. Above our heads is mistletoe. I blush when I get the intimation. I look at Mira pleadingly, hoping that she won't enforce this. The look on her face though, kills any hope I had. She won't let me out of this if she had to smash our heads together to do it. I look around, and I thankfully notice that no one but Mira seems to have noticed and is looking at us.
I look over to Natsu to see that he has an unfamiliar expression on his face, one that I cannot place. He sees that I am looking at him and he grins at me. Before I know it, his hands are at my waist, grazing the bare skin of my stomach, and he pulls me closer for the kiss. As his face gets closer I start to panic. I want my first kiss to be special, and with someone I am dating. His lips are about to touch mine, when I move quickly, a place a kiss just on the side of his mouth. I pull back quickly and blush. Not looking at his face, I pull out of his hands and hightail my way out of the place.
I say a quick goodbye to everyone, gather up my presents, and run out the guild, all the way to home. When I get home, I place the presents on the floor near the Christmas tree and collapse on the bed. I rethink of what had just transpired and I blush. I smile to myself; this was the best Christmas ever.
Aww, the poor bunny is bashful. Doesn't she know that the dragon really wanted to kiss her? Does she really think that him standing under the mistletoe was a coincidence? The necklace he got her, it represents them, how he treasures her and will protect what's his. If only she knew that though. Oh well, he will have her right where he wants her in due time. Until then though, he is satisfied toying around with his prey.
Since you can never say it enough, Merry Christmas!
I hope you enjoyed it!
